This hotel wants to present as high class, but in the inside it was falling apart. I was excited it had a Starbucks, their food sucked!! Tasted OLD! Door was falling, pee stains in to restroom! The rooms are large and could fit a lot of ppl!

Love their breakfast buffet ; custom omelet bar, tamales and chilaquiles in pic

Decent, modern hotel. The rooms: -nice bathroom - see pic (spacious, nice marble, shower is huge with a rain shower head). Provided towels and shampoo, didn't find conditioner in mine. Hair blow dryer also provided -big beds with a lot of pillows (in 3 different kinds of sizes) -desk by the tv mounted on the wall -a small closet area to hang clothes and lots of drawers for more space -walls are a bit thin, can hear your neighbors, tv or people out in hallways The restaurant: -breakfast buffet is a must (great selection with chilaquiles, eggs, tamales, omelette station etc) -lunch (order in menu, prices are cheap) would highly recommend the caldo de tortilla (so good!) the fajitas de arrachera is pretty good too but on the heavier side. The nelly torta is ok. -for lunch and dinner you get a bread and biscuits basket that comes with pico de Gallo, salsa, butter and lime -limonada recommend for drinks The hotel also has a bar area and Starbucks right next to it. Hotel is good for meeting rooms and large gatherings. Used a meeting room here which was a bit cold but plenty of space. All staff friendly and can understand English but prefer speaking in Spanish (easier of course!)

I recently stayed at the Real Inn on my last visit to Tijuana. I didn't know what to expect from this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised! The property is well maintained and up to date! There isn't a pool here, but its nothing you'll miss. The rooms look EXACTLY like they do on the website. And the lighting in the bathroom is great. The room I had didn't have a fridge, but they delivered one to the room without any issue. There's a Starbucks just right across the front of the hotel on the same property. And the location of the hotel is so walk friendly. There are plenty of plazas & mercados to walk to without any issue. Would totally stay here again on my next visit!

I came to this hotel because I was having surgery in Mexico. I was hesitant at first - but rest assure, this hotel is stunning. The service is amazing. The only issue we had was ordering dinner and calling the front desk; yes, they're busy. I ended up having to go downstairs to order our dinners. Per my boyfriend who got the chicken enchiladas, they were good. Prices were great. We were able to pay with American money and they spoke English. Unfortunately I don't speak Spanish, but the staff were wonderful and understanding. The hotel is very clean and the beds are so comfortable. If I ever go back to Tijuana, I plan on staying in this beautiful hotel again. Other tips: 1.) Have your key card on you at all times; you need it to get to your floor and to turn the lights on. 2.) Yes, there is a Starbucks! Yes, it's amazing. 3.) They have a large mall across the street. It's beautiful and a lot of fun. 4.) Go downstairs versus telephoning the front desk. Only a few people work there at one time.

A nice. completely remodeled hotel right next to the mall here in the zone rio section of Tijuana. I love the location and loved the simple but nice modern decor of the room, the hotel itself had everything you'd want especially for a short stay, they have breakfast and brunch here on Sunday and they have room service around the clock. I enjoyed some drinks at the full bar down in the lobby and was able to enjoy some entertainment from a guy playing guitar and singing songs down in the lobby, I would definitely stay here again, we were able to check in after midnight which was a plus for us, I noticed other hotels here in Tijuana not allow this , thank you very much. There's and oxxo convenience store right next to this place which I liked , there are also plenty of taco joints all around for a late night meal. Only thing that was bad was the heater not working which would have made my stay much better as I am here and it's January and it gets a bit chilly at night here in Tijuana and Southern California for that matter.

This is one of the top hotels in town, specially now that has been renovated; its well known for their big breakfast buffet, complementary internet and parking has a daily fee; location its pretty good and 5min away from.the San Ysidro por of entry; Overall a vety good option.

This is really a 4.5 star review. My friend & I got a steal of a deal in early July 2017. The check in was super fast, our room was clean & had a chic modern design. There was free, on sight parking with in-and-out privileges. The location was within a mile of everyplace we wanted to go - lots of shops, great restaurants/bars, things to do & see. Here's why I knock off .5 stars. - everything in the bathroom was gorgeous marble tile - including the shower. It was a European type shower with no door so you have to take a few steps to get under the (marvelous!) rain shower head. Those few steps are a little slippery. - also because there is no door, if you put anything on the side ledge, water will roll down & drip on the floor. - there were oddly no washcloths. We didn't care enough to call down to the front desk to ask for some but we thought that was odd. That's it. Tiny little minor things. Otherwise the hotel was quite, the lobby & bar were sleek and inviting. Everyone on the staff was multi-lingual. Checkout was as easy as check-in. Oh! They were running a special at the attached spa. My friend got a back/neck massage, facial & microdermabrasion for almost half the price she would pay in the US.

I am rewriting this review from a 2023 visit…read more We had this trip planned for weeks to celebrate my man's birthday in June, so our expectations were high. We booked a hotel stay for two nights. I reserved one room directly through the Lucerna website and he booked two additional rooms through Expedia. Unfortunately, both bookings were charged a night's stay in advance, even though Expedia was not supposed to charge anything until check-in. At check-in, the staff at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. The bellman was especially kind and was going along with our jokes-- he was honestly the best part of our stay. From there, things quickly went downhill. Our key cards stopped working on several occasions, requiring multiple trips back down to the front desk to have them reactivated. The biggest issue was that the air conditioning did not work in any of the rooms. We called the front desk several times, but no one ever answered -- the phone just rang and rang. That night, we were forced to sleep with the balcony doors open, which resulted in mosquitoes and flies coming into the room. Because we couldn't reach anyone, we also weren't able to order room service. Again, the phone rang endlessly with no answer, so we ended up ordering Domino's from across the street. We spent time at the pool while the kids swam. The area itself was very nice and inviting, but the pool was dirty, with leaves and debris floating in the water. We asked a security guard if servers came out to the pool area. He initially said yes and went to call someone. After waiting about 15 minutes, we asked again and he then mentioned that pool service is only available during the summer -- something that would have been helpful to know upfront. We ended up going inside the bar to order drinks and carried them back out ourselves. About 30 minutes later, staff came out to clean up the pool That same day, we followed up again about the AC. The front desk told us maintenance had already taken care of it the day before, which was not true -- no one had come and the rooms were still hot and humid. Eventually, someone did come to check both rooms, but nothing was fixed. This is supposed to be a luxury hotel, yet the experience did not reflect that at all. It is extremely overpriced for the quality of service and the number of issues we encountered across all three rooms. We paid over $250 per night, stayed for two nights and booked three rooms, only to leave feeling extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this Lucerna location. I gave it 1 star only because we made the stay fun, despite all the flaws and disappointments. And the interaction with the bellman really made a difference.

Now that the upscale food court located downstairs is open there are a lot of options for food right out of the hotel door. The complimentary breakfast isn't some gross cereal bar but a sit down proper meal so give yourself time. You are served warm lemon juice and then have a choice of a beet bases, green based or OJ juice along with your coffee, tea and breakfast choice. The pool bar is wonderful and other than the flights going overhead fairly regularly it is a nice spot to relax. The zen garden is beautiful as well. If you are a light sleeper I encourage you to ask for the garden side of the building. I also LOVE that a window opens and you can get fresh air! The location feels safe with a security in the front. There are many restaurants around and child friendly. The medical hospital is right next door. Its proximity to the downtown area makes it desirable. 24/7 room services if needed. Water pressure was amazing and the water turns hot very fast. Very large pool on the 4th floor opens at 10:00AM. Complimentary delicious breakfast with multiple options to pick from. Spa services are amazing and totally worth the price. Several stores nearby. Cons: The room wasn't as tidy, i found trash on the side of the table left by the previous guests. Overall 5 stars for safety, professionalism, modern rooms. I don't like to complain so I cleaned the room myself. I understand the cleaning crew may not be able to clean every room spotless. These employees work really hard. I would for sure stay there again.

Prices have doubled since coming here first. Points went from 5k to 8k- please don't up it any more :). Guest profile has changed and with it more English speaking staff. US workers in scrubs moonlighting on the weekend, patients over from US for medical procedures, catering to this new clientele has made this hotel busier and a little more pricey than before. I wonder how they will compete when the Westin opens right next door? Location is truly perfect, it's an easy drive from the U.S. made easier now with the hotel and gastronomy zone signs as you cross the San Ysidro border. The hotel offers covered, gated underground parking for your car. It feels secure and I've never had any issues or incidents (touch wood) ever. Breakfast is included with your stay and has improved over the years, not that it was ever bad, they just offer a much larger and quality selection than before and restock often, again being more busy I imagine helps with that. Staff are always great , very helpful, and bilingual. If the bar ever looks unattended it's because they often double at reception. Just look to the front desk for assistance. For a Hyatt place - it's one of the best - that's why we keep coming back, better than the San Diego counterparts. Adrian, at the breakfast station is our favorite staff member. He's always so helpful, attentive and he deserves a shout out. I would love if they made Pozole on Saturday mornings - but alas it's a Sunday morning treat. Having it on Saturday too would be the icing on the cake. Something to work on: I enjoy a late checkout and appreciate not being disturbed. Do not disturb sign on the door doesn't mean they won't knock, or try to come in. Housekeeping should observe this request, even if they are being nice and checking to see if you need more towels. If you like clean, they are obsessively clean - occasionally the chemicals bother me in the lobby but I appreciate their attention to cleanliness. Overall solid 4 star rating.
