    Late Night Menu

Was there late night for drinks. They were busy with little staff. It took a while, but the service was good.

I ordered room service when I arrived late in Arlington and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. And, the portions were huge! I'd definitely return.

Decent hotel restaurant. Personally, I usually avoid hotel restaurants because the food and service is typically terrible. The R bar and Grill is better than most so I gave it three stars. The service was excellent. The ribeye steak was pretty good. Steak seemed like it may have been frozen which isn't a big deal. It can still taste great that way. I ordered it medium rare and it came out very rare or blue, which is fine by me. French fries definitely tasted frozen but had a good salt pepper mix on them. The smoky mule was really good if smoke is your thing.

This place is really cool! Drink menu is great and so is the food menu. It has lots of options with affordable prices. The atmosphere is super cool with their brick oven, and relaxed bar & dining area. Outside seating is available as well which is nice at night! Our bartender Joe was the absolute best. He was spot on for recommendations as for drinks and food. He really went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Hope to see him again! As for the food everything was tastier than the next. We had the fried chicken sliders which came with your choice of fries- Absolutely delicious. We also tried the spinach and artichoke dip with crab- Great portion they give you and a nice twist on a classic bar dish. Brisket nachos - super tasty and gave you a huge serving. Needless to say we will be back!

My friend and I came here based on a Zagat review. Boy were we disappointed!! We started with the $9 spinach and crab dip with "house made" tortilla chips. What a joke! The first dip came out basically room temperature. Sent it back and the second came out slightly warmer. Take a look at the "house made" tortilla chips. Maybe the cold cheese they tossed on top made them "house made". I ordered the friend chicken sliders with green chili gravy & garlic Parmesan fries. The chicken obviously was re-fried after sitting around for hours. Disgusting!! The limp, greasy fries were horrible! Service was also really slow and not worth a decent tip. I was expecting more because of the Zagat article recommending it as one of the top 13 reasons to drive to Arlington. I'll suggest you skip this crappy hotel restaurant and find a better local joint.

Nice place and expansive menu, but I've walked away disappointed from the last two dinners experienced here. Apps - Onion Rings - regular, greasy goodness. Salads 1) Smokey Caesar - Awesome "Texan" take on this with the fried green tomatoes and corn. But the dressing is still a bit bland. It's a huge portion for $8. They should really offer half-sizes. 2) Lime Chilled Shrimp - Hate. Well hate might be a strong word, but I disliked this salad extremely. The shrimp had a weird taste and texture. I'm not even sure if there was dressing on it. Definite disappointment. Steaks & More - Ribeye - Yikes!! It was very fatty and tough. I would venture to say less than half of the 18 oz steak was actually edible. Furthermore, the baked potato seemed like it was microwaved because it was SO dry. Texas-sized portions but the quality and execution were not there. Dessert - Creme Brûlée - It was the redeeming part of the meal. - Peach Cobbler - I didn't try this but one of my bosses did. He said it was undercooked and "doughy." :/

I came here for lunch today since it's in the hotel I'm staying at. When I walked in, there was no one around so I didn't know if I should seat myself or wait. I waited for like 40 seconds until I just sat myself. Then my waitress Kelly came out and apologize if I had to wait long. It looked like she was the only one working. She took my drink order then my entree order. I got the R Burger medium rare with American cheese and asked for no onion and pickle. My burger took about 10 minutes to come out. It came out with ranch, some other sauce and a bbq ketchup. Kelly said I could ask for regular ketchup which I did. She was attentive to my table and kept checking up on me. When I was halfway eating my burger I notice there was 1 pickle inside when there shouldn't be any so I just took it out. It would've been an issue if I was allergic but since I'm not it's not a problem for me. The burger was okay and the fries was about the same.

Last weekend I surprised my wife by taking her for the second time to the R Bar and it did not disappoint. We went out on a limb trying some items that were new and not yet added to the menu and may have ordered with our eyes that evening as we both had quite the well deserved food coma when we got home. 1st Appetizer: Jalapeno grits, scallops, and watercress. We got to admit it took a little while to figure out how to eat it--you have to mix it all together practically to bring out all the flavors. 2nd Appetizer: Mediterranean Pizza. It comes with black olives, feta cheese, tomato, oregano, capers, artichoke, and basil leaves. Friggin' delicious. We felt so fancy eating it that I kinda wanted to order some wine to go with all the gourmet food on it. Ha. If you like salty flavors on a pizza then check this one out. My Entree: Chilean Sea Bass. This was my first time having sea bass and I realized I have been missing out! The sea bass was so white and juicy. And when you dip in the buttery glaze that came with it, omg, so good. The sides of zucchini, squash, and onions were tasty too.     Her Entree: Drunken Chicken. The wife allowed me to nibble on her chicken and it was good too. So soft, that it was almost falling off the bone. The hicama on the plate is served so that it's almost a salad and there's quite a bit too. My Dessert: Passion Fruit Brulee. The custard was sweet, fruity and the caramel layer on top was yummy. Her Dessert: Chili Peach Cobbler. Not the 'traditional' southern cobbler you'd imagine. The main difference here is the cobbler has a kick, either chili powder or a heap of cinnamon, and less crust / crumbs than a traditional cobbler. It was good, something different, but I'd choose a different dessert next time. The service there is awesome to boot!

Honestly, 4 Kahunas Tiki Lounge right here in Arlington is right up there with the very best of them. The place just feels like an instant getaway. It's tucked back off the main drag but the second you walk in you're on some tropical island, no plane ticket required. The cocktails are legit. Super well-made, great balance, real tiki depth, none of that fake sweet garbage you sometimes get. Every drink we've had has been spot-on. Maggie working the bar is the real MVP though. She's quick, knows her stuff inside out, super friendly, and somehow makes the whole night feel personal. Whatever we ordered, she crushed it and kept the good vibes going. She's a huge reason we keep coming back. Only thing that would make it even better? A water feature. A little fountain, a trickling stream down some rocks, or even a small waterfall wall in the back would dial the ambiance up to 11 and really sell that full island escape feel. If you're anywhere in the DFW area and you're into tiki or just killer cocktails, you gotta check out 4 Kahunas. Small spot, super cozy, and easily one of the best tiki experiences in Texas. I loved it! I say…read more"I" as my wife wasn't as big a fan of the food as I was. We had reservations in a busy Saturday night and were seated at a comfortable 2-top. They were about full when we arrived. Not so much when we left. While I thought there was a game tonight - it's the Eagles in concert at one of the nearby stadiums. Because it was packed when we arrived, the space was fairly loud. Cheyenne was our server and she did great. She knew the menu well and made some suggestions. We had already read the Yelp reviews and sort of knew what we wanted. Two of us shared: - Margarita rocks - Pan con Tomate - Crispy Pork - Jerk Chicken Paella The Pan con Tomate was amazing. Really cool presentation too. The Crispy Pork was real nice. A bit dry due to making it crispy. Really meaty too. The Jerk Chicken Paella was great. Cheyenne told us the jerk seasoning wasn't very spicy. She was right. I would have liked it spicier though but understand the decision to appeal to a broader section of diners. The socarrat was amazing. They make the paella in a small (8"?) cast iron skillet. It made for a perfect caramelization of the rice (socarrat). The dish had jerk seasoned chicken thighs and vegetables. Yum! I would have loved to have the Coconut Cake. But we were full and it was $22. We'll come back to Cafe Americana and try other dishes and the cake!

First of all the space is very pretty and cozy. The dining room is long and narrow but didn't feel cramped at all. Or server JoJo was with us quickly and was beyond charming. She immediately gave recommendations for each area in the menu and when we were ordering drinks she even suggested different things based on our initial preference. For example, one of my friends asked about a whiskey sour and she recommended one of their pisco drinks instead and it was delicious! We got the yucca, dates, and lamb skewers as appetizers and didn't have a single crumb behind. Well balanced flavor with unique touches that we all appreciated. For entrees two of us ordered the lomo saltado which came out fairly quickly. Unfortunately, they had sold out of the duck when my bf asked for it so they brought him a drink on the house to make up for it. He changed his order to the salmon and loved it. I ordered the paella and sadly that did take waaay too long to come out. By the time they finally brought it to me everyone else was done eating so I just asked for a to-go box. The server did apologize and brought me a drink on the house but it would've been nice to know ahead of time that the dish would take so long to prepare, because I would've chosen something else so I could eat with everyone. All in all it was great and I'll definitely come back. Hopefully I make it in before the duck is sold out next time!

Our company provided each guest with three drink tickets, and many attendees -- including ourselves -- happily purchased additional drinks beyond that. Unfortunately, our experience with most of the bartenders was disappointing. We visited two different bar stations, and several bartenders came across as rude or uninterested, almost as if serving guests was an inconvenience. This stood out especially since the event was a large private rental, and guests were continuing to spend money throughout the evening. That said, one bartender truly made a positive impression -- Analilia. She was friendly, welcoming, and had an amazing attitude that completely changed the experience at her bar. She provided the level of service you would expect at a venue of this caliber. Despite the inconsistent service, we still enjoyed the event overall thanks to the atmosphere, food, and entertainment. I hope management recognizes team members like Analilia and works to ensure a more consistently positive guest experience across all bar stations in the future.
