We were there the eve before the Big 12 Championship and had wanted seafood. Horrible service, the food was a D- and the iced tea might as well have been just tap water. If you like seafood it is a good place to try. I personally don't like seafood and I tried the garlic parm chicken strips and they were honestly the best chicken strips I've had. The Cajun fries are very good too. Only thing is the service is not good. The workers will pretty much ignore you and not give you what you ask for unless you ask multiple times. We've been here 4-5 times and this review is based on my last visit which was Oct 7, 2021. My best friends lucky because she lives so close to hear. We actually wanted to try out a different spot this time but after walking into a couple of other places near by and we were not really impressed so we decided to go back to where we know they have great crabs. They did not let us down. This day they were the best I've ever had! I'll speak for my friend as well because we kept talking about them for days afterwards! We got there at about 4:30pm and there were a few seats at the bar so we grabbed a couple and soon after the bar filled up. The bartender was friendly and made me a good couple of drinks throughout my time there and she got beer with hers. We both ordered snow crab and this place isn't cheap but it's totally worth it when you want to eat a delicious crab cooked to perfection! Out of my 5 visits here it was cooked to perfection every time so if yours isn't then I don't know what to tell you. You prob are just very unlucky or the cook didn't show up that day. I remember there was a time when this place was booming and packed no matter the day or time of day . I walked in the early afternoon and I was literally the only person in the place which I was excited about. My server seemed more interested in watching tik toks then serving me. I sat at my table for over 10 mins before she decided to walk over and get my order. After receiving my order the server never returned until after I was done with my meal, that annoyed me a little because I did want to order more. The food was good as usual , it just the ambiance of the restaurant felt all the way off. It Kinda made me feel like I should have gotten it Togo . I walked in, wasn't greeted at all even knowing workers saw me and my mother just standing waiting to be seated. It wasn't until I went to a worker and asked "do I seat myself" the worker tells me yea, just grab a menu and sit wherever. Then, I sit down with my mom over 10 mins, nobody came to acknowledge us, not even say they would be right with us, nothing. No drinks no nothing! It was a TERRIBLE experience! What an amazing Saturday out with my girl for our late anniversary dinner. We ordered the combo #3 with is Snow crab , King crab, sausage, 2 corn and 3 potatoes... medium Sloppy which is the house special sauce . We added and extra pound of crab and spicy sauce and garlic butter on the side. It was my first time having King Crab and it was just amazing it's not as sweet and has more texture than snow crab. It was cooked perfect and all the yummy crab goodness just slid right out of the shell. Johnathan was perfect he was very nice and helpful throughout all my random questions and never missed a beat. He seemed like a good young man and I always respect that for the younger generation. My only complaint is the music was super loud and only one Genre seemed to be playing which I liked the music but a bit loud for my taste. Plus not everyone likes the same music. Dang... Met up with some friends for a birthday dinner and it was pretty cool. I tried the catfish basket and I also had a boil bag with an egg, sausage, and shrimp. The catfish was some of the best I've tasted. It was REAL catfish and seasoned to perfection and back. The shrimp was shrimp. It was good but nothing to really write home about. Employee Sanai who answers the phone is very rude and costs this establishment to lose business by having terrible customer service skills and an attitude as if you slept with her man or did something personal to her. After taking my order and asking "is that it?", she then hangs up in your face before telling you how long your meal is going to take or saying anything. I nearly thought the phone got disconnected because I was not expecting her to not finalize the call with a salutation like a thank you and "your food will be ready in 30 minutes" for example. For boils in the area this place I think has one of the best if not the best signature sauce flavor. I realized it was because Mr Crab's sauce reminded me of the Hot & Juicy chain. The spicy level is also one that I don't think burns the mouth the most but it burns my fingers so I'm guessing is spicier than most other places. The only thing is most of the time they over cook the crab but the shrimp and crawfish are usually cooked well. Just a bummer since the crawfish is all frozen but is expected since it is out of season. You can substitute the crawfish in the combos for half a pound of shrimp but I feel as though they don't really give you the half a pound extra (or maybe the crawfish just take up a lot more room and it seems to be more). Their shrimp sometimes has a lot of poop and sometimes doesn't. Overall it is just too variable and the amounts of times I get over-cooked snow crab has been more than I wanted. It used to be my fav spot until twice in a row I had over cooked crab and my friends that went there in separate occasions also told me their crab was overcooked after I recommended this spot. Also last time I ordered I asked for shrimp sub instead of crawfish then called back right away to change it back to crawfish and even though they confirmed I still got all shrimp and over cooked crab. So I'm kind of done with this place and Red Claws is now my new to-go spot. Was borderline but I'm being nice & still giving them the 4 stars just because I really really like their sauce. Wait!! To satisfy my cravings let's add 5 additional lbs of crawfish on top of that... make sure it's spicy all the way . We ask our waitress to make sure the crawfish was fresh because they were charging $10.95/lb which I didn't mind paying for fresh crawfish. The waitress walked out of the kitchen with baskets in her hands.. Wow!!! I can't wait to give it a try. Fried okras and fried mozzarella cheese sticks tasted like every other place I've been. The Mac & cheese eggrolls were a bit different. It tasted ok. Fried catfish was good, so that earn Mr. Crab an additional star... Oh!!! She's bringing us our seafood!! I can't wait to put my fingers onto those crawfish to satisfy my cravings. I ate the first crawfish it had a weird taste to this... this isn't fresh crawfish is it? I questioned myself. I ate the second one still taste the same like dead or frozen crawfish. Ok wait a minute she told me it was fresh and I had to ask her again. She told me that it was fresh and that they get fresh crawfish delivered every AM. I did tell her that I didn't like the taste of it and it doesn't taste fresh. I ask her if she can take it to the kitchen, she then tells me that the owner will come out to speak to me. Minutes later I saw him walking out towards the bar. He was asking her something and she pointed towards my direction. I sat there trying to finish my fried catfish but the disgusting dead crawfish taste was lingering in mouth. All I can say is amazing! Decided to come on a whim since my friends and I had a taste for crab legs. All I can say is wow! The staff was amazing as soon as we entered. For entrees; one of my friends and I shared combo #4 which was 1 pound King Crab, 2 snow crab clusters, head on shrimp, crawfish, two corn cobs and three potatoes. We opted for all the sauces on the side; garlic butter, lemon pepper and Cajun. The seafood was amazing fresh and plentiful! The sauces were amazing separate but even better together! So far I can say of all the crab places I have been this one is the best. I was not sure if it was going to be good based on the few cars in the parking lot. Being the holiday that could be it or people just have not been properly introduced. It checks the boxes on crab legs cooked right, great mix of flavor in the sauce. I got the sloppy sauce in medium heat. The sauce had a nice balance and was not too chunky with spices and garlic. I would like to taste the other two individually to test the difference. The sauce does have a slightly sweet flavor. It was not until the end that the sweetness became a little over done but did not stop me from eating it. The shrimp was nice and plump. I just wish they could some how have the vein cleaned out. The sausage have a great smoky tasty flavor. At this point I will be back and I plan to try more of the boiled seafood as well as the fried.
