Razan's organic kitchen sells mediterranean style wraps. The food is very delicious - I could taste the fresh vegetables. The soup (veg) was very tasty. I live in Berkeley, found Razan's long ago and go back there often. I love the food, the price and the friendly people there. It's a reliable, no-frills concept. What you get for your money is lots of choices of good simple food, lots of good middle eastern flavors and quality organic ingredients. (always worth paying a little more for organic!). read more

I think this restaurant is going downhill. Although a good place for organic food, the portions are smaller and the price seems higher. The staff could use some training also. The last straw was when we were leaving, they asked if we paid for our meal. The two staff members looked at each other like they were totally puzzled. This is my favorite restaurant in the world. Organic, free-range meat, affordable, and very delicious. (Second favorite is Arabica, same ownership, next door, everything the same but fancier so we go there less often). They make the best felafels I ever tasted. The food and service were pretty mediocre so I'm not sure why this place gets such high ratings. I came here for lunch and ordered the Lebanese wrap to go. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, they hand me my order, then inform me they made it with the wrong kind of bread. I didn't have time to wait more, so oh well. The sandwich was unsatisfying--kind of mushy and messy and the tortilla had that preservatives taste. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I just don't think it's worth coming back here. read more

Crazy little place where you order at the kitchen when you walk in, and grab one of the few tables. We got a spot in the tiny upstairs that almost feels like you're not supposed to be up there. We were not disappointed. Fresh food, great variety, welcoming staff and reasonable prices. Food was fresh and flavorful. Close to great part of town. Wandered around after dinner. I thought the food was delicious and was thrilled to find it's organic and reasonably priced. However, the space is very cramped and a bit messy. I often get the food to go. I had my first unpleasant experience with Razan's organic kitchen. Friday sept 6 I went there for lunch. The lady ahead of me was undecided and allowed me to go ahead of her,so I proceeded to order. Then the lady was ready so she ordered. She received her lunch before me,which was fair to me.A man walks in and ordered and received his lunch before me(we all ordered the same thing) I found that to be very unfair! As the waiter glared at me not very friendly or professional...I thought to myself I will never eat hear again! To that waiter you are in the wrong business very poor customer service!!! read more

DH and I ate here before a Cal volleyball game on 11/24/17. We happened upon it. I give it 5 stars because the Garden Burrito I got was the best burrito I have had in many years (and I told the kitchen staff that on my way out). The salsa was so fresh and tangy tasting and the veggies just melded together. DH liked his salmon dinner plate very much. Value was good. The 5 stars are really for the food, which was outstanding. But to be candid, Razan's is in need of some remodeling. It is indeed a "hole in the wall" and that alone should not be a turn off, but the place needs a good scrub, some fresh decor, and some rearranging. For example, when you go to the balcony upstairs (be careful if you are over 6', you'll need to hunch a bit), you can see lots and lots of dust collected on the light fixtures that hang over the open kitchen. The planter boxes with ivy seem from a bygone era. The walls are stacked with out-of-use kitchen equipment. Everything seems rickety. The odd little water closet and open sink say "gas station bathroom", not "healthy organic restaurant." I'm not saying go and spend a fortune gentrifying...I mean keep the mom & pop atmosphere, but get some fresh eyes on the place and do a big time spring cleaning and sprucing up. I would also ding Razan's for timing. Now, granted, it was a busy Saturday evening, and the small staff was doing their best to keep up with a steady stream of orders. That said, DH's salmon plate came up right away, but I waited and waited for my burrito. I had to ask twice for our our drinks as well. By the time I finally had my food and the drinks, DH was almost done with his salmon. The staff did realize this and the cashier apologized, so that's good. Anyway, in spite of all the constructive criticism, I would absolutely make a point to go back to Razan's and get another one of those awesome burritos! read more

Went to this place on a hot day. First problem: no air conditioning. I could have survived that, but the asian girl working the counter was extremely rude. I asked what the potatoes were (mashed, fried, home fried, etc.) She acted as if I were asking a complicated question and gave me a defensive/pissed look. So, not paying attention to the signs that I should run from this place, I ordered the most expensive thing, a red snapper plate. It's noisy in there, so I didn't hear my order even though I'm pretty close. So, countergirl is pretty unhappy walking my plate to my table. It's not a lot for $14, the fillets tasted more like catfish (yuck), and the fries were very undercooked and completely saturated with oil (not edible at all). No ketchup anywhere; you had to ask for it, and countergirl acted very put out that she had to squeeze some in a container for me. So people don't use ketchup here? Also asked for pepper and she gave me the large kitchen pepper shaker after giving me another pissed look. No one uses pepper here either, it seems. I left the whole plate almost completely uneaten on the table. Maybe the burritos were okay, but I don't go back to rude places. read more

First of all, there is no evidence the produce is organic in this place, especially the meat. I think the health department should verify the claims. I had salmon salad there and the salmon seemed like frozen and not fresh. Nowadays, even Walmart sell frozen wild salmon. The salmon wrap a black box worth $14 that you will be surprised when you order it that you paid mostly for rice and beans, I understand that a wild salmon wrap has mostly salmon, not true. The sitting place upstairs is disgusting, they do not even have napkins to dry you hands. Both the Mideastern chef and Asian women downstairs could use some customer service training, and iPhone check out takes for ever. For such a whole-in-the-wall place the food should be cheaper despite the verified claims of organic food, their profit margin must be hansom. I want there many time over the years and the food was hit and miss, mostly delicious, but the service and value is just one-star. i was looking forward to this restaurant because a foodie friend recommended but i was deeply disappointed. the food was fresh but my garden burrito completely lacked flavor! the tortilla tasted like cardboard and the vegetables were bland. however i am giving it a three because of the freshness and cleanliness of the restaurant . if i was in my normally pissy mood id give it a two b/c the guy behind the counter stared at me with a strange look which made me feel uncomfortable. read more
