This place has a lot of great reviews, so I think I may have ordered the wrong items. I wasn't in the mood for a big meal/sandwich/wrap, so I ordered a soup and salad. I got the vegetarian soup with lentils and mixed vegetables. It was a huge portion, so that was a plus, but was otherwise fairly bland. I also got the spinach apple salad, which was also very plain and the ingredients didn't seem super fresh. My friend had an Egyptian wrap with falafel and hummus, and thought it was really good, so it may be the wraps are better. read more

Razans may look small from the outside but the menu, flavor and personality of this place is HUGE. I have never found another place like Razans ANYWHERE. It is the only place i can get a healthy and delicious meal without cooking at home. Bottom line is any where else I eat, I leave regretful in my decision, wishing I had gone to Razans. The food is really tasty here. We asked for recommendations on what's popular on the menu and we got "everything", which wasn't too helpful. My wife and I ordered a beef burrito and a beef shawarma. Both dishes tasted very good but the meat was really chewy. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the meat, otherwise it would have been worth 4 stars. read more

I hadn't been here in a few months and decided to stop by for a late lunch to get a burrito. What I like about this place is their vast array of healthy options for a burrito. They have tons of veggies, whole weat tortillas, and brown rice. I got the garden burrito with avocado and used some of there sauces to top it off. I really liked it! I love this organic kitchen! especially their salmon wrap. They make their food to order and do it well. A pleasure to eat there! I liked the steamed brussel sprouts plate as well, but I thought $6.25 was a bit pricey. Next time I will stick to the main course. read more

The Chicken Kabab Plate was huge and super yummy! The spices were so great and the hummus was delicious. You can tell it's a perfected recipe. Only drawback was the small space but it kind of adds to the "hole-in-the-wall" charm. read more

I really like the food at Razan's. But the last few times the tortilla has been burned but not horribly. The last pick up order was mislabeled. Salmon burrito was labeled beef and beef burrito salmon. My friend doesn't eat beef and took a big bite out of it. This is a second occurrence of mislabeled food. This is just careless. In the case of the salmon, beef mess up they were even in different kind of tortillas. I've been there many times but lately things have changed. read more

One of my favorite places to eat in Berkeley. I always feel so good after I eat here since it's fresh, clean, organic, etc. And such nice service -- I can always make modifications to the menu if I want. I'm also vegetarian, so I love ordering the Lebanese wrap (ask them to add extra greens in it! Yummm), the Jerusalem wrap, or the Egyptian wrap. You'll probably wait 5 minutes after you order to be served. And sometimes when the cookies are hot and fresh, they'll slip you a cookie :-) read more

I have eaten at Razan's several times, and have ordered the Green Burrito. This was one of the best burritos I have eaten. black beans, seasoned rice, guacamole, and sauteed kale.... Awesome! The service was nice and the owner is very accommodating. My only concern is consistency!!, One of the times I ordered the Burrito it was dry and the tortilla was scorched...haven't been back in awhile, will consider going back at a later date depending on the one who is preparing the food. read more

I never regret going to Razan's, never, I usually end up regretting going to some other place other than Razan's. Possibly some of the best falafel in Berkeley. I've had quite a bit of experience with falafel - being vegan especially. The trouble is usually with falafel being too dry in an effort to be crunchy. It's moist without being greasy or soft on the outside, and crunchy without permeating the entire ball with overwhelming "chip-like" texture. The service is exceptional. I'm not sure if he was an owner or employee, but he brought us extra falafel balls and told us to try it with the hummus by itself - that it would be "out of this world". You get your food fast. You can get full on $10-$13 worth of food. They chop up the onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc. as you're ordering rather than it sitting all day in tubs. It's fresh and doesn't make you feel gross after you eat. Glad I tried this place. read more

I was surprised to find this place in a side street connected to Oxford St., next to The Great China. Last time I was here, I ordered their Egyptian wrap, and it was rich in flavor...leaving me wanting for more. My sister was raving about this place so I had to try it. I was only in the area visiting, so I ended up buying to-go. I got a salmon shish kebab wrap. I ate on the plane hours later, so it was already cold. I imagine it would've been even better had I eaten it fresh and piping hot. The place seems kind of pricey, but the wrap was huge! It was delicious, too. Possibly drenched in a little too much sauce though. Although I really enjoyed the wrap, my sister, who got the same thing, said that the other stuff they have is better. Just makes me wish I was still there to try all their other, even better items. The only thing was that they kept me waiting. I ordered to go. They told me 15 minutes. I was the only customer, yet they had barely started making our order when I had arrived. I had a plane to catch, so that was pretty annoying. read more

Love the Chicken plate... which is made of fresh veggies and brown rice and free range chicken. However, for 12.95+ tax... it was a bit much for just lunch after I completed the meal with a can drink bringing the total to 16 and some change... The place is small, but cozy. The food is delicious, no matter what you get, although I am currently nuts about the mushroom melt wrap. The Egyptian wrap is also great. The burritos are alright considering it's Berkeley, but I suggest you stick with the wraps. Portions are sizeable, prices are reasonable, and everything is organic. The stairs to get upstairs are kind of terrifying, but other than that, no complaints. read more

Great location to the UC Berkeley campus - wonderful selection of vegetarian and vegan menu items but the price is a bit high.

Pretty darn good. I had the chicken kabob burrito thing, and it was mighty tasty (even grilled the tortilla!). I like the fact that the meats are organic, the food is all cooked fresh to order, and it's all done right there in front of you. It took a bit longer than I had thought it would, but that's what fresh-cooked means, I s'pose. I also like the super-efficient use of space here too, with every inch of the building being used for something -- storage, prep, seating, art, signage. It amazes me that uptight Berkeley hasn't shut this place down for its hobbit-hole layout and bizarre clutter. I guess it must be protected by the organic-ethnic-vegetarian amulet of power, warding off aging-hippie-thought-police-who-must-protect-us-from-ourselves. Whew! read more

The staff was super friendly & took their time w our group as we slowly decided what to order. I had the Egyptian wrap w falafel & really enjoyed it. The portion is big, I could have saved half for lunch the next day but stuffed myself silly. I like that they have a water spickett to drink as much water as your heart desires. We both ordered the Jordanian Wrap which is Falafel, tomatoes, grilled onions, tahini and some tasty sauce rolled in toasted flatbread. The toasting adds a whole new dimension. Pretty dam good. They have about the freshest, healthiest food around. Very vegetarian friendly, and all is made fresh to order. Meat/fish here explodes with flavor. Tiny shop, but there's almost always a seat. Wraps/Bowls/Plates kinda place. Fajitas in particular are super good. Place is pricey, but worth it, but pricey, which is why I give them 4 stars. They don't have to reduce their prices, but if they did, I'd give them 5 stars. Great place to grab a bite prior to a movie. read more

I've been coming here for more than 10 years and the food quality has taken a dive. I recently ordered the Mediterranean plate without rice and asked them to add more tabbouleh but the portion size didn't seem any bigger and I think they charged me extra, I paid $19+. Also, the tabbouleh and salad tasted old, like they were made a couple of days before. It was gross, the edges of the lettuce were starting to rot. Stumbled on this place with my boyfriend and my brother. What a delightful and healthy lunch to find! My brother and I ordered the Jordanian wrap and my boyfriend ordered the Garden Burrito. I've eaten here (or more accurely have have had take out) at least five times and although the food is always tasty, I always leave with something not quite right (missing items, the dish isnt as it is describe on the menu,etc). This last time I was over- charged by $4 and it took the cashier four times to correct the mistake. Had I not been paying attention to when she was ringing up the food, I would have paid too much. If you don't mind spending $ 10-15 on a healthy meal, then by all means order from here. However, you are certainly not getting a nice ambience or accommodating servers. read more
