This the second time I had Ray do tree work for me. This time it was 9 fruit trees on our property. All were overgrown with 2 years growth since the last pruning. Just one of Ray's employees finished pruning all 9 trees by 1 PM. All clippings were cleaned up, chipped, and hauled away that same day. That same job took me a whole week to finish plus 4 green waste bins of cuttings. Ray charged much less than any other estimate and it was all done in one day. Plus, the trees look great. I don't expect any fruit this year ,but, next year should be better since I plan to have Ray's crew do the pruning again next year. read more

We had a large Liquidambar/Sweetgum tree in our front yard whose roots were lifting the driveway and made a hazardous mess with its never-ending supply of spike balls. I called Ray and he came by for an estimate the same day. His estimate was $250 cheaper than another local tree company. I called Ray's Tree Service last Friday to schedule trimming of several trees plus the cleanup of many dead branches on the hillside behind my home. Ray initially scheduled my job for the following Monday but shortly called back to ask if they could do the job on Saturday. We have had Ray prune trees in our yard several times. The first time he removed a Colorado Blue Spruce which was impacting the front of our home. The second time he pruned a tree in our front yard and the third time he trimmed several Redwood trees growing over our fence line into our neighbors yard. I needed tree branches cut back to the fence line on the neighbors large camphor tree that were impinging my patio and yard. Of the three estimates that I got, Ray's tree service had the best price. So, they came today and started the work. Within a hour they had all the branches cut and on the ground. They had to work around our new fence and were very careful and did a excellent job. I needed several things done from removing a stump to pruning an overhang from the neighbor's large spruce tree. Based on the Yelp reviews I hired Ray's Tree Service. There is some good and some not as good feedback. Anything having to do with straight labor (removing the tree stump) or cutting down they did very well. The yard was left very clean. However, the tree pruning was not done well. Apparently, there was some issue with an employee who no longer works with the company. The owner, Ray, did his best to make amends for errors and refunded money for the pruning part of the job. I do not think this is the company to hire for pruning that is artistic and/or reflects knowledge of tree health but for regular pruning they seem to be fine. And, as mentioned before, they are excellent at removing trees. read more
