The tow truck driver caused a scratch on my Tesla and refuse to take responsibility for it, so I will be suing them for the damage.

I've been getting in trouble with my older car over the past 2 years. Thank fully i've had the good sense of keeping my AAA. For some reason everytime in got in trouble they sent Rays towing. The first time i got in trouble, i left my keys in the car with it running as i returned a video to the machine outside the convinience store. They were there in 10 minutes and opened the car in less than a minute. Did i mention how it was only 35 degrees out side? I was saved. *********** Months later i kept having a stalling issue with my car. I thought i could figure out this problem and like any non-mechanically inclined person i failed. I must have spent about 300 dollars on my car because i was in denial about my lack of car understanding. I broke dow and called AAA, once again they sent a Rays truck. The driver took a few minutes to calm me down and listen to me vent. He never once made me feel incompetent. We got my car towed to a my mechanic and i was taxied back home. :-) I was saved again. . . . *********** Almost a year after i got laid off by a greedy corporation i had the misfortune to stall in front of their office. I just wanted to die. Then i remembered to check the milage counter. You see im too poor to keep up with repairs and my gas tank gauge stopped working months before. I had run out of gas. This time i knew who to call and Rays Towing showed up to save me. They took my AAA information,checked my card and id. I could not get out of there quickly enough. I love being stuck in snow for hours then to have the towman "Eddie" hang up on me and not listen to me trying to tell him where my location is so that they knew I tried to move it after all, then got stuck indefinitely across the street. I tried not to be a bother to the guys, therefore tried to do it my little ol self. :( well...that didn't work. Anyways, Eddie is the boss. Here's how I feel...if you are a business owner, you treat your customer, each and every last one of them with respect. It is not always fun, sometimes you want to shoot yourself and then throw your phone at a brick wall and then scream in a pillow for ten minutes....but....you chose to have a company that requires customer service. Deal with it. Your business will only grow from it. So...If you hang up on a customer, let alone a pissed off stressed out lady who has been stuck in knee high slush dirty snow in a city she doesn't know, with sopping wet shoes and socks, a car full of luggage, tires that cost a freakin arm and a leg that did NOTHING to get me out of this stupid situation....well least you can do is hear her out and tow her car to the hotel caddy corner literally 50 feet across the street. Please?!? No...I guess not. I ended up leaving it in the parking lot overnight, in shady parts of town, hence why The tow, and then a lovely perfect stranger and his sweet wife drove me and all my luggage to the hotel. 1 star for the time I called Ray's for an emergency roadside battery replacement, and they sent a mechanic who spent two days attempting to replace my car battery before literally breaking my car. Why 2 days, you ask? Shouldn't a simple process like battery replacement take all of 20 minutes? Here's the long & painful story: The accused "mechanic" refused to replace my battery the first evening he came by, for a whole litany of reasons- It was raining. It was dark. He didn't bring any lights/proper equipment to remove the battery (Wha?) He needed to run diagnostics on my car, which would require the car to be warmed up and running for 15 or so minutes beforehand. He didn't want to wait for that to happen. After he bluntly refused to service my car in any way, I went inside, grabbed my significant other, and asked him to come out & just generally make his presence known. And lo and behold! Suddenly, it might just be possible to get the battery replaced! Of course, warning signals should've gone off in my head by this point, but as I wanted to be at work first thing in the morning with a new car battery, I watched as he fumbled around my engine, broke a connector... and decided to call it a night. The next day, (much to my dismay) the same mechanic shows up, and the first thing he says to me is: "I spent the morning reading up on how to replace car batteries so I think this should work." Oh, goodie! 30 minutes later, he's put the battery in the wrong way (despite my protests "I'm positive you're putting it in backwards." "No no, I know this is right. Your battery was put in the wrong way before.") and blown a fuse, and my car will no longer start. At all. So now I have to leave work early to get my car towed to an auto repair shop, and as the mechanic prepares to drive away, he says "It's not my fault. Your car was already broken." .......... Anyway. 5 stars for the next guy from Ray's Towing who then came and towed my car away. He was really awesome & empathetic & efficient. read more

Had them dispatched through AAA four times over three days to try and tow my car. They kept giving all sorts of reasons it couldn't be towed. Upon calling BMW multiple times to see what to do they claimed their reasons were BS. AAA finally calls another tow company and it takes them 5 minutes to get my car on. If you need towing in Eugene, ask for AE towing.. not Ray's. The tow truck driver for AE even mentioned hearing that Ray's did this to someone else about two weeks prior. read more

This was my worst experience with towing. Do NOT use this towing service. Our car's battery died and we called for help to Ray's Towing. When the tower showed up he started asking condensing questions because we are women. After a solid two minutes of explaining that we didn't run out of gas and that the battery died, he proceeded to sexually harass me by shoving his crotch in my face as I was sitting in the driver seat, and he continued to mansplain the situation to me when all I wanted was to be towed home. When I finally asked him if he could just tow me because it was 11pm at night he got mad and left. He just left me in downtown Eugene because I wasn't having his rude and condescending attitude. read more

I have had great towing service from Ray's in the past, but today I was calling them for a quote to haul a car to a wrecking yard. The gentleman I spoke with took the time to go over all the potential costs and even suggested some other options in town that might save me time and money. They gave me the best advice when I called even though it meant less money or even no money for them. I needed a second tow to a shop from AAA and they told me that I could call AAA and it wouldn't cost me a second tow. They also said I could pay cash to them for a new tow but it was cheaper to call AAA and get their rate. I appreciated the information to save me money rather than line their pocket. When my car was impounded there the employees robbed it blind. Stole many items from it. Mike, the manager, knew it and took $300 off my bill. I tried to file a police report, but the officer said that being I accepted money it's considered a "business transaction." It was contracted by EPD, towed after an accident. read more

The WORST auto experience I've ever had. I called Triple A and they sent a guy from Ray's towing to jump my car battery since I didn't have any cables. The guy was extremely condescending to me, asked me if "I knew a single thing about cars" after I asked a question about the battery. He proceeded to talk down to me the rest of the time and treated me like I was an idiot. My car broke down on the the 5 North. After calling AAA, Dan arrived on time, was professional, polite and friendly, but more so he went far beyond what was expected. What could have ended very badly for me actually worked out in the end...only because of Dan's efforts. I would not just call it good customer service, it goes far beyond that. Your flatbed driver almost took me out on my bicycle tonight. I was leaving work aroung 11:20pm biking on the right side of the road, with a headlight and a tail light on. This dude comes barreling down Madison towards me, on MY SIDE of the road; I almost ditched onto the sidewalk over the curb but at the last minute he gave me a tiny bit of space. On a rainy, Sunday night I backed my work-van down a long, inclined driveway and got two wheels off the road right over a creek. The van was leaning toward the creek with such an angle I was afraid it might roll into the water any second. It was very precarious. Vic came out and admitted it was a challenging situation. I got my truck stuck deep in mud on my property. Vic came from Ray's. To be frank, he is a royal bad-ass. My truck was weighed down with 7000 pounds of gravel for winter weight. He worked for 2 hours to get my truck out. He had to adjust and anchor his truck several times because my truck was so heavy that it was dragging his. I managed to pop two tires on my car this last week and called Ray's Towing for help to get to the nearest tire company. The rep from Ray's showed up within 10 minutes of my call, had my car on the tow truck in less than 5 minutes, and I was able to get to work just 45 minutes after finding the popped tire. Seriously fantastic service from them! The driver was very pleasant on the way to the tire company also and I would definitely use Ray's Towing again if I need to. read more

After a head on collision with a delivery truck, we had the extreme misfortune of our car being towed to this "business." First off, they won't let anyone near the car without the title and proof of insurance, you know the stuff in the glove box. But hey, they're being cautious right? So you get all the paper work together, then only the registered owner can clean out the car while a security guard watches you, don't even think about asking for help. And especially after the fireman filled the car with kitty litter at the crash scene. These people can't get their hands dirty! Next the owner will start calling. He has a limited window of time at the office, so sit next to your phone between 9am and 12pm. Do not call after 12pm, because no one in the office will have any knowledge about your account, your car or why the owner would ever need to call you. When you do finally call at the appropriate time, and talk to the illusive owner. He will explain all the charges you have incurred, information that could have been left with the multiple before noon voice mails or even when you were on site cleaning out the car. They charge by the day. Might as well weasel in as many charges as possible. Why didn't he tell you sooner? Well that's a simple answer according to the owner , because it is common tow yard practice and you were too stupid to ask the right questions. This place is a joke. And unless you want to be jerked around and charged out the wazoo, avoid this place like the plague. read more

After a long hot day waiting for a jump and then a tow, we did not look forward to driving in the tow truck back to Florence. The Subaru dealer couldn't fix our car for a week, there were no hotel rooms in town due to the Olympic trials and the fair, and there were no rental cars available-bummer! But Vic showed up! He found a mechanic that was able to get the part we needed within a half hour and the car was fixed and on the road in an hour! He really saved us. Ray's towing is first class service. He even drove us to a restaurant so we could get some food while we waited. Can't say enough good things about him. This is what we love about Oregon, too. read more
