Beautiful art

Food is excellent the service is top notch and the ambiance is very open and family friendly. It's crazy to say it but this is the best pescado al mojo de ajo Ive ever had this place definitely has its flavor on lock. The chile coronado was also great with its flavorful roast beef with its consome. Me and my friend will come back soon. Thank you Denise. Please contribute to checking this place out and put your taste buds on a cruise.

Chicken Chile Verde Burrito Dinner

Ray's Tepeyac is my go to for a Chile Verde Burrito! Large portion! I can only eat half. I tried their $6 Michelada Tuesday special for the first time. Really good balance of spice and tomato with Modelo. David always gives us great service and has become a family friend over the years.

We were out a little late and decided to have dinner here. This was my first time and I was told a lot of great things about it. Customer service was amazing. Our waitress was super attentive and very sweet. We placed our order and our food came out pretty quickly everything was great big portions. Everything was flavorful would definitely come back again.

Chips and Salsa

Ray's Tepeyac sells thick, heavy portions with speedy service. The food's flavors are distinct and prominent, but it also tastes "mushy" like something left underneath a food lamp for too long. Currently, Ray's Tepeyac successfully captures the taste of well-cooked buffet food. (Quick Note: 3.99% Service Charge Applied to All Card Sales. Bring Cash.) I arrived on a weekday (around 1:50PM). The location had a large amount of elderly customers. I was immediately seated. Each table received complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were lukewarm, but its flavorful salsa was cold. In addition, the tap water tastes very off-putting; its water tastes like old melted ice. I ordered the Shredded Beef Burrito (Lunch Special - $10.95) and the Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo ($18.95). Service is fast! Both huge dishes arrived piping hot in six minutes and 47 seconds. The Shredded Beef Burrito is extremely big. The burrito is doused with tangy sauce and melted cheese with a dollop of sour cream. The burrito is stuffed with boiled, mushy beef. Thankfully, its sauce adds needed flavor to the bland burrito. The Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo had a lovely, addictive garlic and buttery flavor. Unfortunately, its strong taste is used to mask the thin, small, soft, mushy fish. Its rice successfully rekindled memories of Mexican rice, but it's very mushy. The beans are satisfying, but it's finely mashed and wet. Thankfully, its flavor is strengthened with its generous melted cheese. If I had two words to describe this dish, it would be "soft" and "hot." Service is adequate. In the beginning, I was helped quickly. However, once I received my food, I rarely saw my server. I had to eventually "wave down" a staff member to get my check. Staff moves like a fast food restaurant. After receiving the check, customers pay at the front counter. Regarding ambiance, Ray's Tepeyac is a charming location. I enjoyed the wall's artwork. The location is also clean and well-ventilated. High-energy Mexican music echoes throughout this location. The furniture looks dated like an old diner, but it's functional and well-maintained. Overall, Ray's Tepeyac serves huge portions. And it's a decent option for a budget meal. If deciding to visit Ray's Tepeyac, enter with low expectations. 3.8 out of 5

Chile Coronado, Pescado Mojo De Ajo
Anna T.

My friend and I came for dinner. I had the Chile Coranado and my friend had the Pescado Mojo De Ajo. The portions were big enough for us to take some home for later. Food was delicious. Staff was very intentive and helpful. The ambience was very pleasant. We will be back.

Had a great lunch here and never disappoints. The servers were all attentive, ensuring our drinks were refilled.

Mexican Chopped Chicken Salad

To Go Order placed. Ordered red chile burrito, got a green chile burrito. The Mexican chopped chicken salad I ordered was a disaster. Watery with wilted mushy lettuce. They don't always fill my orders correctly but wanted to support our local restaurant. Unfortunately, this will be my last order. Not going back.

Sunny son sunshine

Went in with my sunny son sunshine, we had breakfast I had the Chile Relleno plate and he had Huevos rancheros. It was so delicious. Our waiter David was amazing. He was getting into it with another waitress just a tad over a broken coffee maker but all in all it was funny to hear the bickering. He told homegirl she was still sleeping lol anyways loved it. The music was playing . The vibe is mobster feel. Old timers comfort. I love this place. We will be back again.

Chips and Salsa

My husband and I ate here after work as a mid-week treat. The restaurant looks small from the outside but once we were seated, we noticed it was quite spacious and there was lots of seating. The service was great and the food was pretty good. They serve chips and salsa complimentary. We ordered flautas, taquitos, and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. My favorite was the taquitos. The cheese enchilada was good but a little too heavy for me especially with the rice and beans.

Dakota R.

The service at Ray's was amazing! The staff were very attentive and sweet. I used to go to this restaurant all the time when I was younger with my mom and dad and it brought up so many memories for me. I got the Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo which was a very garlicky and buttery. The portion sizes are large and my boyfriend and I both had a lot of leftovers to take home. Only thing to note is that they do charge a fee for credit card I believe.

You can park in the additional parking spots all around Shopper Ln. I have been a customer for many years and tried many delicious dishes. They serve a traditional Mexican open buffet at certain times. The waiting line is expected, but don't feel discouraged because it moves fast. The decor is vibrant enriched with colorful murals. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely warm. The restaurant has cozy and inviting ambience. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. I placed an online order for pickup. It was fast and convenient since I had friends coming for dinner. I ordered the following: - Burrito Panchon 5/5 Stuffed with carnita, beans and rice, served with cream, beans and guacamole. Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. It was smoky, savory and flavorful. - Vegetarian Enchiladas 5/5 Corn tortillas stuffed with bell pepper, corn, onion, carrot, cilantro, squash, and topped with a combination of cream and jack cheese. The portion was enormous. It was a very flavorful and savory. - Carna Asada 5/5 Flap meat marinated with homemade adobo. It served with pico de gallo, rice & guacamole. The meat was juicy and tender. It was such a delicious dish. - Empanadas 5/5 I chose chicken empanadas. It served with salad. The empanadas was crispy from outside and very flavorful. - Ensalada de Nopales 5/5 Diced cactus mixed with tomatoes, onion, lime, and cilantro. - Taquitos 5/5 It was crispy from outside with savory and juicy filling. - Taco de Cameron , taco de Pescado & taco de Birria 5/5 They were savory, juicy and delicious. - Beans 5/5 Topped with melted cheese, really delicious - Large Bionico Bowl 5/5 Fresh fruits like topped strawberries, mango, cantaloupe, banana, papaya, blueberries, apples, pineapple topped with granola and shaved coconut. It was rich, creamy. The fruits were fresh and sweet. It was heavenly! Every box was wrapped with layers of plastic wrap perfectly. I got a bag full of different types of salsa with my order and another bag with tortilla chips. The food portions were very generous. Every dish reflected authenticity and deliciousness. Decided to give it a try since always on the prowl for good Mexican Food. Good decision. The ambience is very nice with 4 TVs to watch various sports games. There is also a fully stocked bar. Tables in center floor with booth seating as well. Was quickly greeted by friendly young lady who seated me and brought me a glass of Horchata. Had good flavor with plenty of cinnamon and other goodness. Narrowed my selection to a handful of choices: Super Burrito, Taco Salad, Enchiladas Suisas, or Enchiladas a la Crema. I told the server, Madison, l that this was my first time and asked for her recommendation from my list. She said the Taco Salad was really good but said the Enchiladas Suisas were all the rave. I ordered it with a side of Chiles Torreados serranos instead of jalapeños. The green Suisa sauce was tasty with the traditional zesty spice. The entire plate was hot from the typical heating to melt the cheese. The beans and rice were really good. The Enchiladas themselves were also good. I will say though that the chicken inside the enchilada could have been hotter. The chips and salsa were really good. You only get one basket of chips and one refill on the horchata so plan accordingly. Wanted to try a small cup of the albondigas soup but they only sell it in the large portion,l so will have to try on another visit. Madison highly recommended the bread pudding desert with scoop of ice cream. Despite not being a huge fan of bread pudding, I decided to give it a try given her suggestion. WOW! This was one of the best deserts I have ever had. Absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to sample some of their other dishes! This restaurant is in a strip mall with: DD's, Yoshinoya and Smart and Final on Azusa. We ordered these quesobirria tacos x4 $5 each,1 consome to share $1.50, and their surf & turf burrito $16. Did we expect the tacos to be better than the ones at Disney's DCA at a 10 rating? Especially since these were soft not fried like DCA's. No, but tell you what, these were an 8 since we are comparing. NOW, the next day, I heated up the leftover 2 tacos in my air fryer at 425 for 6 min. Guess what? They are a 10 out of 10, just like DCA's!!!! Fuego can you fry these up? I My husband and I shared the surf and turf burrito. It was large enough to share! Heavy, packed with moist rice, melted cheese, birria and shrimp. Only modification we ask for was no pico and no chipotle crema. The shrimp was freshly cooked on the plancha and to perfection (had a snap). I was worried at first, no one wants rubbery shrimp. This was by far our most favorite item, and probably the best burrito i've ever had!!!! My husband said he'll buy me my own next time. Sorry, I don't have a photo. We gobbled that up so quick. So now I'm thinking we should order burritos to eat now and order the tacos to take home for next day air fryer meals.
