Been going through a rough stretch in life lately, and one thing I've noticed is how hard the younger employees at this store work. They stay respectful, helpful, and professional even when things get busy. A lot of people only leave reviews when they're upset, so I wanted to leave one because good workers deserve recognition too. If you're in the area, support this place and be kind to the staff. They're good people and they deserve more appreciation than they probably get. read more

This grocery store isn't as bad as the reviews might seem. However, that doesn't mean it's good. But if you live in Talent, it's much more convenient than anything in Ashland or Phoenix. And if you're buying processed foods, frozen or canned goods, or most liquid products there's very little difference, other than a poor selection, than any other grocery store. The vegetables and fruits are not as high-quality as Safeway, the Ashland Co-Op or market of choice. The deli is not that great either unless you're buying something freshly cooked from the grill outside. All in all is convenient and close by for people in Talent, and not nearly as bad as some of the reviews climb read more

This place is actually more expensive than the Ashland Food Coop! Also most of what they are selling in on the edge of going bad. Don't eat anything from the deli, it will most certainly make you sick. I truly can't believe this place is still in business. Thank God WinCo is only 10 miles down the road. read more

Very well equipped store we got everything we needed and made our stay in talent easier

Don't go here for ice cream by the scoop. Tried getting ice cream 6 different times this summer, and they only had it once. Just kept hoping they would get it together. Never had this issue at food for less once. I don't plan on coming back anytime soon. Poor business model. read more

DO NOT eat the Rotisserie chicken!! I don't shop in Ray's but was on my way home so I grabbed a Rotisserie chicken, got all the way home, cut into it to find in Very pink and Raw! That's not even the grossest part...in the center of it was a big blob of Black guts!! Absolutely disgusting! Drove all the way back from South end Ashland to return it and nobody included the manager seems to know how to even return it. Manager had me swipe my card to get a return 4 times because he didn't seem to understand how to even work the register! Nice place, good service, but EXTREMELY expensive. Shopped for groceries for Labor Day Weekend and I had to cut half the items out. Here's one example...I needed watermelon for the family. Picked one up and weighed it. It would have cost $16. Not for me. read more

I was saddened to see so many negative reviews. I am giving Ray's five stars and here is why: My home was one of 2500 destroyed in the Almeda Fire. Many residents including Ray's employees lost their homes. Many businesses were destroyed and others that survived closed up and moved away because of lack of customers. Ray's stayed open and is the only nearby market. I am so grateful that they have provided us a lifeline. Yes, it is understaffed but those who remain are working long hours and are always cheerful and helpful. Yes, many items are unavailable, but I have always found what I needed, even hard to find specialty foods needed for my health. Thank you Ray's for staying in our community when it would certainly be more profitable to move elsewhere. I will remain a loyal customer and sing your praises daily. read more

I love this store. The big box W-store killed off all the other mom and pop businesses in this town and then fled to Medford. We are blessed that one business held on through the W-store plague years and is still here to serve us. When Rays bought out Tark's, they rehired every single employee and kept the ice cream counter. And people whine about overpriced lettuce? If every business was this good of a neighbor there would be no war. read more

Every single Ray's location I've visited has the same problems: Tiny, cramped aisles that make finding anything a chore, unattractive overall aesthetics, and sky-high prices. I'm convinced that the only reason this chain is still in business is because they set up stores in towns where competition is slim to none. Ray's is so disappointing. The selection of organic/local/no gmo food is very limited. I have filled out suggestion forms, I have commented on their website....alas I have received no response. This stuff is a deciding factor for many people in Talent and they need to address the issues of the people who shop (or don't) there. Although the store looks nice and the workers are friendly, I have heard from many local vendors that the buyers/purchasers are extremely difficult to work with if not impossible. We miss our old Tark's. I do not shop here at all anymore except in an extreme emergency. read more

For the 3rd time in a year I have been told at the deli counter that they could not sell me an 8 piece Box of chicken even though the tray is full. Today was a new excuse and a new experience. I was literally told the same thing, "I don't have enough to do that period". I responded with "OK never mind I will go somewhere else"" , then proceeded to the check out with my cart of groceries. Another employee in the Delhi followed me across the store and confronted me in front of other employees and customers and timers informing me that I was incorrect, the 1st employee never said that, that all of the chicken in the tray was sold already, and if I'd like to wait she was in the process of making a new batch. Is there some policy at ray's market that limits the number of chicken pieces you can buy at 1 time from the deli? Mark if there is I've never heard of it before in all the years that I have bought in chicken from that store. I feel it was extremely rude, disrespectful, disrespectful, for the 2nd employee to cause a scene in front of other people. I'm sorry but if the 1st employee told me she couldn't fill the order and actually could that means she just blatantly lied to me. We'll never step foot in the store again to the extent that I even left my cart full of groceries of groceries sitting in the checkout aisle and took my grandchildren and left. What kind of employees or training do you actually do? In my experience of over half are rude are rude, and have the attitude that don't bother me I just work here. It's not like these reviews do any good or that the company's make any changes when they get negative reviews but yeah you might want to try another store other than talent. Phoenix is only 4 miles away and I think I will take my business there even though it is further away from the mountain I have to travel down to get just a talent. read more

I realize that small market grocery stores are more expensive than the larger ones. However, they shouldn't be priced like a convenience store. This morning, a head of non-organic, red or green leaf lettuce was THREE DOLLARS A HEAD! Three dollars! I hope you get kissed when you buy at these prices because you are sure getting screwed. Went into this store on Saturday just to get a few items. I am from out of state and was not impressed. There wasn't any hard shells for taco's on the shelves for a can of organic soup close to four dollars which is ridiculous, other prices on like garbage bags, twelve dollars! For a small town I moved here in November of 2018 and have shopped here several times now. Norm the manager is wonderful the store every time i have been there has been clean and the employees are eager to help find any item and the let you know if they don't have it they would either try and get it in or recommend the place we could go and get it. The clerks at the cash register are so nice I have almost quit going into Medford to shop because for the price of gas its cheaper to shop here and have wonderful customer service. Was just in this store and noticed in the refrigerated section some bean dip that expired over 2 months ago. I stopped an associate (tall, young woman with shoulder length, straight, dark hair who works in the deli) and told her that there was expired food. She scoffed at me, said "No!" and ran into the back of the deli. Seriously? read more

I grew up in Talent and this store is a disgrace. This store sells food that is spoiled and well past its sell by date. At this point I would not be shocked to find out that raw meat is store without refrigeration. I hope that the manager is fired for being incompetent. The produce is rotten, the meat is green, and if it can be rancid, rotten or freezer burnt it probably is. read more

Conveniently located. But that's about it. Very expensive and limited selection, but it's a market not a grocery store so it's pretty regular as far as markets go with customer service, cleanliness and overall atmosphere. read more

Edit update: 8/18/15 I am updating this from a one star to a 4 star for customer service. I received a call from the the store manager. She was very apologetic and will be taking measures to keep this kind of incident from repeating. The store is quite small, but that isn't my gripe. I had a very disappointing experience this afternoon at the Rays in Talent, OR. I lined up to check out and there was an older gentleman in front of me. He and the checker (a prematurely gray man - maybe in his 40's?) were chatting and appeared to have a personal relationship. The older gentleman tried to move off as he finished, but the checker encouraged him to stay telling him "she is still unloading". "She" being me. No greeting for me, nor acknowledgment. He continued to visit with the older man, and as he was finished I waited patiently for the man to move so I could access the card slider. The checker, acknowledging me for the first time, said "do you have a Rays reward card". I answered "No, I'm just waiting to move up so I can pay". The checker then turned to the older gentleman and said "she's getting impatient." I replied that I was not impatient, and explained that I just needed to pay. I further explained that the older man could just move a bit, so I could pay. At that point there were 5 people behind me in line being held up by this. The older man left and the checker had the nerve to tell me "I was taught to respect my elders". As I am close to 60 I would guess I am also his "elder". But perhaps he was only taught to respect male elders. His tone was condescending and disrespectful. I will make sure to do my grocery shopping somewhere else in the future where I am greeted, and treated kindly regardless of my age. read more

This place used to be called "Tark's market" and was MUCH better when it was. the selection is significantly smaller now and the prices, much higher. i wouldn't go here if i were you. read more
