But I stopped in to Safeway to see what was in the deli. I got 4 pieces of fried chicken for $4.99. I also got a pint of broccoli cheese soup, and a cheddar bagel. So instead of going to get an almost $40 friend chicken meal at a restaurant, I recreated a bougie meal for under $12. The brute was a gift...LOL! The chicken was really good and everything else complimented it. I came here last year because I baked two cakes and they had everything I needed. Great store to come to, though some of the customers are a little sketch...LOL!

Specifically, I purchase their baby arugula and baby broccoli sprouts, which are absolutely delicious and I can't find them anywhere else. I also purchase all my Woodstock items here, including dark sweet cherries and various vegetables. A lot of the stores don't seem to carry the Woodstock products, which I find are the best available in terms of flavor and quality. I purchase a number of other things here as I need them and that I enjoy. Even though it is quite a challenge (because of the giant size of this store), when I have time I peruse some of the aisles in which I don't usually shop for things that I might be interested in. Shop 'n Kart has a huge selection.

I cut the cake in wedges from the box and served it flat on a white plate. I remember looking at the plates and did not see it. I did not expect the plastic. I suspect that it was wedged on the side of the cake and it got pushed in. It went unnoticed because if you see the picture it's pretty noticeable, it's an 1.5" piece of paper with plastic tape but if it's in the cake I'm not going to see it. They offered a refund and they can have it. I am dissatisfied with this place and their lack of professionalism. I was an upset mom and they treated me like I was culpable of serving plastics to little kids. To the manager who called me a liar that there was no ingredients on the paper, read it for yourself. They make the best homemade salsa and soup in the surrounding area!! It's worth the drive and not too far out of the way. Forewarning, the salsa is on the sweeter side, per se, and I usually get 'medium' but they also have 'hot'. I've never had anything like it, it's sooo good. They have just about anything you'd want from a farmers market and my pictures don't really do it justice. And guess what, they're open 6 days a week!! The owner still makes her mouth-watering assortment of soups, but now-a-days instead of having them steaming hot in crock pots for patrons to scoop their desired amount, they are prepackaged and frozen for all to enjoy when it suits them. She says they are even more popular than before. It looks like the same modest place as before, very inviting, and well stocked. I'm thankful we have places like this around!
