I drive an extra 15 miles to avoid shopping there. Their "Deals" app requiring you to pre-shop their sale ad on your phone in order to receive the sale price at check out is infuriating. It's time consuming. It's always flawed. My discounts could just as easily be tied to my phone number when I check out. The prices are way too high! I'll go shop where the price on the item is what I pay and it's reasonable. I dislike self-check out. Their staff are great, but it's not enough to keep this customer. read more

This is about average for an Albertsons location... we did find a few things we were looking for, however, the store was rather dirty. It seems that Albertsons pays more attention to the Safeway stores than the old Albertsons. Service was OK, however, one of the vendors was cussing up a storm, so beware if you have littles with you, they may learn some new language. Not the worst, but definitely not the best. read more

I was hoping that Albertsons (has refrigerated flowers) might have a solution... Erica was in the process of whipping up a corsage for someone else and wow! I was hesitant, but asked IF there was ANY chance she could throw something together for us. Erica EXCEEDED any/all expectations. She was pleasant and welcoming. Erica asked us a couple questions about colors and put together a corsage that is absolutely PERFECT (in record time)! Since the chain was acquired by SuperValue in 1996 the company (and in turn individual stores) have lost sight of what their roots are. This should be a two star review but there are a couple of standouts at the Ashland Albertsons. The store Manager Jody is keen on details and keeps a clean market. Priscilla in the butcher block is a blast and abundantly helpful, produce is well stocked and the service deli employees pleasant. Another key to the store is the fact that they seem to have good employee retention. Seeing the same faces for years on end is comforting, my continued shopping at Albertson's is to support them. In fact the only reason I still shop their is that the employees exceed those at all other Ashland grocery stores in my opinion. Pet peeves: Regularly out of stock on basic merchandise. How can a grocery store run out of Campbell's tomato soup and boneless skinless chicken breasts? I often find myself having to go to another store to complete my shopping. Prices: High! Unless every item I buy is on Club Card savings I can count on my bill being 30-40% higher than the same items purchased at Winco (but who wants to drive to Medford on a basic grocery run?) Old/out of date product on the shelf: Nothing more aggravating than getting home to find that the yogurt or frozen meal I just unpacked went out of code three days ago (I have learned to take my glasses and read every date). Albertsons is the place to go for your deli munchies. There is fried and grilled chicken by the pound which is the best you can get in Ashland. Not any chicken joints in the area. I get chicken wings for 6.99 that match and imo would are better than BWW for the price and quality . Definitely a better option than heating up frozen Tyson chicken products in the microwave. Albertsons is also the least expensive place to shop for groceries in Ashland but you can still save a bunch of money just by driving to Medford to winco, food 4 less etc. Do try coming here for they're deli which consists of fresh chicken, pasta salads, baked breads, and grilled/ cold 4.99 paninis with premium deli cheese and meat, that demolish the subway next door. Not a bad option for lunch and not far off from I-5. read more

I have always loved Albertsons more than Safeway and I have moved all over from state to state! This Albertsons is arranged differently from most Albertsons I have been to but u will figure it out. It seems bigger than most. Friendly cashiers! Only one stall for a bathroom :/ Starbucks right in front! Redbox outside which is awesome of course! The only downside is how eco friendly Ashland is that NO PLASTIC BAGS exist in this store! If you dont buy or bring your own, u get a paper bag! :/ Yuck! I went for baking supplies and eggs, same prices as any Albertsons. But the baking aisle has WAY MORE organic ingredients than any other well known grocery store I have seen. I have never had a problem with any of the employees at this albertsons but today the bagger at the checkout line I was at was being so rude and inappropriate to the cashier and all of the customers. The cashier was great and was doing her best in a stressful situation, I didn't catch her name but she had blonde curly hair. When trying to finish up and leave the bagger out of no where said "what are you doing this weekend" and wouldn't back down when I was very obviously uncomfortable. As a young girl I want to be able to buy grocery's without being hit on and harassed by the employees. Long story short you guys should give that girl a raise and fire that guy. read more

Terrible. Let's start with their deli and hot food. The 6 dollar chicken strip deal is laughable here. They try to give you almost no food. This review is for the Bakery Department. I recently was looking to have a birthday cake made to celebrate a friend's special birthday. Checked several grocery stores in town. Found Theresa at Albertsons to be especially helpful. Theresa listened to me, offered suggestions, and ultimately made and decorated a delicious and pretty cake for my friend. My friend said it was the best birthday cake she ever tasted. I thought Theresa did a superb job. Albertsons is lucky to have her on their team. read more

Albertsons is now my favorite grocery store in Ashland since they merged with Safeway about two years ago!! Before I was going to Shop N Kart, but they have become so dirty and unfriendly lately -- they don't bag your groceries and if you ask the cashiers for help they get surly and scowl. So I decided to try Albertsons, and am very glad I did. They have great prices on things I buy a lot, plus frequent specials where I can save a lot of money. The store is bright, cheerful, and clean. The produce department actually has "fresh" produce, not wilted moldy or rotting. Love that they have a bakery, a meat counter, and they are always so helpful and friendly. If you haven't been to Albertsons lately, I'd encourage you to give it a try. read more

Okay, now that I have vented a bit, I was able to get all of our needs and wants for the evening and the car ride today. Honestly... I really dislike Albertsons. Not just this one, but all of them. They have such ridiculous prices for everything in the store, and their ads and coupons don't even make it worth shopping there. For me, at least. I prefer going to Market of Choice (yes, I know that place is pricey too) for certain things like the milk I buy (I don't get dairy milk) and Albertsons' prices for almond/oat/rice/etc milk are off the charts stupid. Also all the times I've gotten produce from Albertsons... It's always really over ripe or moldy. On the inside, too. A friend went with me here for some light shopping a couple times and every single time I've gotten moldy stuff. Really over ripe kiwis, moldy on the inside peaches/nectarines... And yes, you might say, well maybe you just suck at picking fruit. No. I had to go through EVERYTHING and pick the stuff that felt most NOT ripe. Like really, guys? You're supposed to put your produce out when it's still not ripe at all. Either they don't know how to stock produce, or the place they get it from is just sending it to the store waaaayyy too late. Bad green onions (which they cut the roots off of, so I can't even fucking put them in water to get healthy again) really bruised apples, what the hell?? Also, they used to have this deal on meats: buy one get two free. Sounds awesome right? Well, it was. And now they don't have that deal anymore, which is the only reason I go to Albertsons. Guess I'll be going somewhere else for meat! Which is really too bad. They do have some deals, though, where they have $1.00 and $2.00 off stickers on the meat packages, which is still pretty good. You can get a whole bunch of chicken, pork, etc. for under $5 a package. But, for me it's really not worth it to come all the way here JUST for meat. I'll stick with Market of Choice, thanks. One more thing... Their deli is terrible. Really bad fried chicken that I am too scared to eat because my teeth might literally break trying to crunch through that shit. Pretty meh joe joes. In conclusion, I probably won't be coming here, unless I get a coupon or something for $ .99 dozen eggs or a really good deal on cheese. read more

I love my neighborhood Albertson's. Much better hot panini sandwiches with far more meat and cheese for $5.99 than the crap you get at Subway. Great improvements to the deli and now a cheese bar!!! Prices look high but a lot of items are on special every day. Great staff and clean well stocked store. read more

Normally I enjoy my experience at Albertsons. It's close to home. The staff knows me and my family, we are in there at least once a week although the prices are a little higher than those at Safeway, it's usually on the way home. Today I went to return some bottles and cans, you know do the recycle thing, take care of the environment and all that and it gives me some extra spending money. There was a nice young man sweeping the return are when I got there so I thought if I needed help it would be easy, buns full or machine won't take shiny labels what have you. He disappeared suppose he has other duties also, no worries. The message appears on the machine glass needs raked down so I look for the young man, no where to be found no worries I wait and watch and decide to find someone to help me, I find a nice gentleman named Tom I believe and ask him for assistance and he gets on the inter one and pages the young man, five to ten minutes later he shows up and has no idea on how to work the machine, but it's ready to roll again so I high five him and thank him. Onward with the bottle return I finish but have a couple the machine won't take so off I go in search of the elusive young man, no where to be seen soooooo, off I go in search of someone. Ahhhh the butcher counter the nice girl says she will try to page him for me sounds good so I return to the bottle return and wait........ and wait ten minutes I timed it, I didn't want to seem rude I am sure they deal with people trying to return bottles all the time. Back to the butcher shop I go and ask the nice girl to page him again and she does, I wait......... and wait....... 15 mins this time yes I timed it I am very patient, and nothing. So I take my few remaining bottles and my return slip and go to customer service. The lady there asks me how things are and I proceeded to tell her of my experience, she asks me if I have a phone and that I should just call her, have we become so people unfriendly that I should call you, no wonder everything is ordered off of Amazon. Then she proceeds to tell me that the customer service guy is on lunch and they only have one or maybe he is outside and can't hear the page and that I should just go somewhere else for my bottle returns. RUDE So I will take my bottle return business as well as the rest of my business elsewhere, Amazon maybe......... read more

I think that Albertsons is generally a reasonable middle-of-the-road grocery store. For the last ten years I have liked getting their roasted deli chicken. It WAS a consistently good deal for the last 10 years. On 11/3/16 I bought my usual 8 pieces of dark meat special. HOWEVER, unlike the previous 10 years, the size of the chicken pieces suddenly shrunk to 1/2 - 2/3 their former size. Furthermore, several of the chicken legs were so tough they were half way to being chicken jerky. Finally, the deli had placed large pieces of chicken on top of a pile of roasted chicken pieces, while serving substandard pieces from the bottom of the pile. They must have changed their supplier for the deli and are now offering small size pieces. It used to be a consistently good deal to buy their chicken. Now, I will have to carefully watch the server choose the pieces. My alternative is to stop going there for the deli chicken. It's a shame that they decided to start playing tricks on their customers. I considered complaining to the manager, but that path seems to be futile. Maybe complaining here will get there attention. read more

I like Albertsons, and I go there frequently, but today, I witnessed an associate berate another associate in front of multiple customers including myself, of course. The gentleman in the deli department was super helpful and polite. I asked him for an 8 piece chicken meal and he happily bagged it up with a smile on his face, and he told me that if I go up to the service counter, there should be a coupon book for half off the meal. That was very nice of him to let me know, and I was going to head over there right away. Right then, a lady whose name, I believe, is Margaret who works at the Customer Service Counter came up and asked the deli guy if he was telling customers about the coupon. He said yes because that's what he was told to do by someone higher up than him. She berated him about how there isn't a coupon, and that he shouldn't have been telling people that there was a coupon. She then didn't give him the courtesy to let him explain himself. That was extremely rude and unprofessional of her. read more
