I've driven past this place multiple times over the last 3 years and finally found the time to stop in, and I'm glad I did. They have a special when you buy half a dozen you get a few donut holes for free. Buy a full dozen, get a free donut. I bought half a dozen (apple fritter, chocolate glazed chocolate cake, blueberry, glazed sour cream, maple bacon, apple filled claw, and a cinnamon roll). The very friendly lady also threw in 3 glazed donut holes. We split them at a staff meeting and everyone loved all of the donuts and kept asking where I bought them. The mango-peach milk bubble tea was also good. I'd definitely try this place again and look forward to indulging in other donuts here!! All for less than $10. Very unassuming place. It's close to the house so I have reason to go there and cheat every now and then. The bear claw is my favorite although I've never had anything that I did not like. The breakfast sandwiches are superbly prepared with the softest croissant. Also, they're one of the only businesses never out of snapple apple! You really can't go wrong here. I've always wanted to try Ray's Donuts. I'm a donut fanatic. However, it does suck that a lot of donut shops have limited hours so I am not always able to make to certain ones. Fortunately, for me, I was able to try it because a friend brought some donuts from Ray's to an event. Although, I wasn't able to get it myself, I was excited to try. The donuts were sitting for several hours before I was able to try. The donut was still moist and soft. I chose the creme fill chocolate top. It was so delicious. I want to get more and go back and try more flavors. There were not many donuts left too so I couldn't try since I waited too long. It's not just a donut shop, it's a place where I can rely that the product that I'm getting is going to be the best! They know me but my name and greet me whether through the phone or when I walk in, and that right there is how you know they love their customers. As a native Californian recently transplanted to Georgia; I missed my local donut shops! So glad I happened upon Ray's! This is exactly the place I grew up with. Wonderful selection of donuts! I had the breakfast croissant and it was wonderful. Crisp bacon, seasoned eggs, flaky croissant. The maple bacon donut was heavenly! Now I know you're supposed to eat donuts ASAP, however these were for my sons birthday the following day; these donuts remained fresh for two days. Back to the flavors. The blueberry cream cheese filled donut l; the slight savory from the cream cheese and the sweetness of the blueberry; was like a danish but better because hello donut. The strawberry glazed donut didn't overpower you with sugar followed by artificial strawberry flavor; it had a nice balance of sweet with strawberry. The woman working behind the counter though; she makes Ray's what it is. Nice, talkative, attentive. So glad I found this place. Due to COVID, no more indoor seating. The most friendly service with the most incredible donuts I've ever had. Their glazed are so lite and fluffy it's a completely amazing experience different from you Krispy Kreme lovers. The cake donuts are always moist and the options they carry if you get there early enough will blow your mind. I heard their boba drinks are good but I'm not a huge fan personally of any. Yas! It took me forever to finally get the chance to stop by but I am so glad I did! What I love about Ray's is their classic style donuts, less crazy 'Gourmet' offerings that are drowned in bright pink frosting that are so sweet you can't pair it with a coffee. They offer more original sour cream donuts. The world needs more classic donuts..but I digress... Their coffee is pretty good and I have found that their bacon egg and cheese croissant is a great way to start the day. The service here is always STELLAR. I'm always greeted with a smile and on occasion I find an extra donut in my box. Hats off to Ray's for great service and a solid donut! I will always be a fan of a shop that can perfect an apple fritter and this place never disappoints! If you're a fan like me you do have to get there early if not they may run out. It's ok though, they do have a good variety and I have yet to come across a flavor I don't like. I usually order a dozen mixed donuts and of course I love getting an extra two! My family will finish a whole box in a day if I let them! Their brewed coffee is always fresh and flavorful and I like that they have a variety of refrigerated creamers you can use, including caramel macchiato which is my favorite. The donuts are more on the light and airy side, and the big portioned breakfast sandwiches contains fresh cooked eggs (a major plus)! Another thing is they have bubble drinks. Quite impressive since there aren't any around the Lawrenceville area. Although the bubble drinks aren't the best of the best (such as the ones in Duluth), it's sure convenient when you're around the area craving some boba. The prices are cheap as well.
