So delicious. They have such great quality food. I went here prior to covid and it was great. Post covid the wait was a little over an hour and super busy. Understandable- just don't be a rush when you go here. The Mexican bowl is to die for and the pancakes are probably the best pancakes I've ever had they're buttery and fluffy and came with a blueberry jam. The matcha tea is so delicious as well. Hot chocolate was a bit disappointing. It tasted just like pure chocolate that I was drinking, like a little too rich and the portion of the cup was much smaller than when I went in March. Overall I highly recommend Raymond's. read more

Raymond's - Breakfast - Comfort Food Near Me - Ridgewood, New Jersey

In a downtown full of popular restaurants, Raymond's is near the top. And it has another distinction: One of the noisiest places to eat, especially on Sundays, when we stopped there for a late lunch just a week ago. When we walked in, there were about a dozen people and unruly small children waiting for tables and a young woman with a tablet assisting them. But the wait for my wife and I was short, and we were seated in a corner with a view of the noisy main dining room, including four couples who brought their own wine and were shouting at their mates just a couple a feet away across the table. The noise was deafening, but service was efficient and the food we ordered was tasty: A cup of chicken soup with small matzo balls ($5), a Caesar Salad topped with terrific Grilled Jumbo Shrimp ($15.50, including a supplement for the shrimp), and overstuffed Fish Tacos ($17) made with corn tortillas. Tea, hot or cold, was $3.50. My only complaint besides the noise is that there was so much crispy codfish and other fillings in each of the 3 tacos, they basically fell apart as I was eating them. Maybe serve 5 tacos with less filling. One reason this upscale diner -- which serves breakfast, brunch and dinner -- is so noisy is the white tile walls and tile flooring used throughout, including on a lower level down a flight of stairs where the restrooms are located. Would we return to Raymond's in Ridgewood? Never on Sunday. read more

Wanted to try a new burger spot in the Ridgewood area that had outdoor seating and was dog friendly, so we heard about Raymond's and gave it a shot. The food was good, the staff was super friendly, but the pricing was way to high for the amount of food you get. $15 for a 7oz cheeseburger with french fries is way too pricey. I get it's upper Bergen County and in Ridgewood but there's much better burger restaurants around that have aged dried angus beef burgers and are much better, especially with this pricing. The turkey burger was average at best my friend said and the triple decker turkey club sandwich didn't satisfy my other friend. He left there still hungry. It's a very small limited menu with not a lot of food options. For the pricing you pay here, you can find multiple other American food eateries and burger spots in the area that have better food and a lot more options on the menu. read more

We had a very pleasant experience at Raymond's, nothing to complain about! Our waiter was so friendly and personable, joking with us and also giving recommendations. My husband said his coffee was "some of the best diner coffee he'd ever had," and he's a bit of a coffee snob, so that was high praise. My sister asked if they could do chocolate chip pancakes as they weren't on the menu, and they were happy to oblige. Our breakfast order came with a ton of food and no one had any complaints about any of it. The setting was also nice, the glass bottle wall is lovely. It's not a fancy restaurant but it is a sweet diner spot. Prices are a tad on the upside, but we enjoyed ourselves. read more

I really don't get this place. It was quite crowded and people seem to enjoy it.. it's very confusing. So I guess my biggest issue is what's going on w the menu. You would think a breakfast diner would have a bacon and eggs option? No. The waitress suggested I could order it in sides, and likely pay $17 or something... No. So I chose the grilled chicken sandwich from the breakfast menu online. They aren't serving that part of the breakfast menu yet apparently. Well if I get an omelette w bacon as a filler can I get the bacon on the side? It would be chopped up, she says. Very well, I'll just take the omelette as is then.. So the omelette was good, not great but good. The cheese and bacon had a good flavor, but can we talk about the state of potatoes w breakfast? These dedicated husks of what once were an edible substance. These were obviously sitting under a heat lamp for the last 4 hours. The coffee was good but took forever to come out. So did the check. The waitress was polite. The both seat felt slightly greasy. I would def not recommend a subpar breakfast for $20 here.. read more

My husband and I brought my toddler for dinner. We each ordered a soup and a salad. My daughter ordered pasta with red sauce. The bowl came and the waiter said it was hot. That was mistake number 1. How do you put a burning hot plate in front of a child? The next mistake was putting the pasta in thin piping hot broth type sauce. It had steam coming out of the bowl. There's only so much I can do from stopping my toddler from diving into such a hot plate. She said, "ow hot" multiple times even after I blew on it and put some on a separate plate. Food for a child shouldn't be that hot. I told that to the waiter and without even asking me he just touched the bowl! I never asked him to take it away. Then I said, "well now that you touched it, you can take it back." I thought it was presumptuous to touch my daughter's food. Then my child had no food. My salad was also vile, but whatever. My husband just asked for the check so we could leave. They left the pasta on the bill without even bringing the new one. He had to ask for it to come off. Then I asked for the manager, who is clearly sexist. He fought with me saying that's how they have to serve the food. I said well then you can watch me leave your server no tip. He walked away. When my husband came back from the bathroom he kindly apologized to my husband about the experience. I said you're only saying that to the man?! I thought that was disgusting. If you're ok with apologizing to my husband then you should've apologized to me. Vile food. Vile and sexist manager. Left hungry and angry. read more

A classic place to stop by. Food is good. Love their green goddess salad dressing. My daughter loves their hot dogs (toddler tastes LOL) their burgers are also delicious. Once tried their grilled cheese but wasn't my favorite it was too loaded with cheese. If that's your forte then it's for you! We always come back from time to time read more

I met my cousins over at Raymond's for breakfast the other day and I found the overall experience to be mediocre. The restaurant looks pretty good from the outside, but the inside looks like a poor attempt at an old school diner/luncheonette. The menu is very limited and prices for breakfast are somewhat high. I was also amused that the menu has an "All Day Breakfast" section that is served til 4pm. My friendly waitress had a laugh at that too. I ordered an omelette with bacon and cheese. Surprisingly, the omelette came with toast and home fries. Menu didn't say I'd get those. Home fries were ok, but some of it was a bit undercooked. The toast they gave was a multi-grain whole wheat. It was OK. The omelette was very fluffy, and the ingredients were good. Tried some of the french toast. That was very good. Very different from the usual french toast you find. Overall, I find the place to be pretty average. read more

Not good. Went with my family for a late lunch and at a very slow time. The place was not busy. I tried to order ice tea but was told that the tea was brewing. I asked for an update 30 mins in and was told the tea was really hot still. What?? My nephew ordered avocado toast, the simplest thing out of our entire order and it came last. I also ordered a side of fries with my sandwich which never came. We waited and waited for the bill at the end of our meal but our waitress disappeared. She never came back to ask how our food was or ask if we needed anything or if we wanted the check. Another waiter checked in once. My brother got up and asked for the check and then saw the fries on the bill, the ones we never received and asked for the item to be removed from our total. The food was mediocre, it was eh. Best thing I got was the matzo ball soup and calamari. As we left our waitress came back out of nowhere to say goodbye. If she had to go on break, totally understand but at least tell your table that. read more

Little pricy for me, but always good. Do find it a little loud. Patrick was our server he was great, very attentive.

A cute go to place for brunch in the heart of downtown ridgewood. Indoor and out door seating was perfect and super dog friendly. The seasonal butternut squash soup was fall in a bowl. Perfectly seasoned and nice texture with sunflower seeds. My friend and I are still talking about the breakfast burrito bowl with two poached eggs, avocado, corn, beans and rice. Upscale retro diner is how I'd describe Raymond's. Really interesting menu with a lean towards some tex-mex flare on their breakfast and lunch menu. The omelette I had - I chose chorizo sausage and goat cheese filling - was amazing! The hot spiced cider was really good too - nice on a cold day like today (week before Christmas). Everyone at our table was happy with their selections - great burgers, very crispy shoestring fries (almost as good as my Mom's Greek fries), fluffy and decent sized quiche portion, and the potatoes that came with my omelette were awesome - diners in the area wish they could cook their home fried potatoes as good as these were! Kids were happy too - five stars from them (OK, my seven year old tugging on my coat so I remember to tell you all his scrambled eggs were excellent - a yelper-in-training). Keep in mind prices are NOT diner prices - more expensive but then that's why Raymond's are located in towns like Ridgewood and Montclair, where the greenbacks are-a-plenty! Oh, and about that Montclair location, ask for my friend Dre, she's terrific and will treat you right! Isn't that right, Ms Dre? Happy Holidays! read more

This was my second visit to Raymond's while visiting a fi end in North Jersey! The staff here is always my favorite part. Our waiter was so kind and was back with a fresh pot of coffee right before we needed it. I absolutely love this cute breakfast spot. The Mexican infused brunch is filled with so many awesome options and always makes it hard to decide what to get! This time I got the burrito bowl and it was so good! It had so much flavor to it and was extremely filling. My friend got the burrito and loved it as well. My little sister went hard and got chocolate chip pancakes, a side of bacon, and a side of potatoes! She loved every bit of it. Also, their sides are huge! Came here on a summer Friday morning for breakfast. We were seated right away and were waited on consistently. I ordered the Norwegian Benedict that had absolutely delicious smoked salmon and the hollandaise sauce was superb. However, the home fries that came with it is not really my type of home fries but that could be a personal thing The aesthetics of the restaurant were really cool and there were plenty of outdoor seating in the shade and in the sun. The restaurant is located on a corner so it's easy to spot and parking is a breeze. The menu selection for breakfast is quite small and I wish there were more a variety. Please note that when coming here, you're coming for quality and not quantity. The portion size is very small and arrive on tiny plates. But the plating is divine. read more

Horrible service. We sat down for brunch at 3:45 (served till 4) and server took our order. We waited for our food for more than half an hour, people who came after us were getting served. Then when we finally flagged down our waiter he said the chef said the order came in after 4 and brunch was closed. Told him we placed our order before the time and server said he must have put it in after 4 and the chef couldn't make it. Asked him why he didn't let us know sooner, we could have ordered from the dinner menu and no explanation given other than saying the chef just let him know now after waiting for so long. Very unprofessional behavior from both the chef and the server. read more

Dreaming of their signature French Toast ~~ Every time I come here I order my usual, French Toast. To be frank, I would regularly choose pancakes and waffles over French Toast but Raymond's is an exception. They make their French toast home-made with French baguette's that are lightly toasted, served with fresh berries. The maple syrup is unlike other kinds and pairs perfectly with the dish. For around $13, I would say they give a sufficient portion. The service is very kind and professional. I can't say I ever had a bad experience here. The interior is retro and there's also plenty of seating for big parties! Tips: This place gets packed on the weekends for breakfast, be sure to go early or some time during the week! read more

My bf's cousin loves this place which is why I've been here twice already. The first time was fine, food was fine, service was fine, but the second time was a disaster. We thought 45 mins to an hr would be plenty of time for this place but we waited almost 30-40 mins before our food came out. Turns out they misplaced my order slip and couldn't figure out what I ordered for the longest time. Plus my bf and I were on a time crunch so even though they did take 25% off our bill as a "we're sorry" it was still a traumatic experience. I was so stressed out about making my other events in time. Food was fine, though my eggs were too easy, spilled onto the plate and stayed stuck there. read more

I live in Ridgewood before Raymond's restaurant offered its service to our community I like to support our local businesses but I will never support Raymond's again the manager Alfredo and his assistant Karen lied and forced a worker to sign resignation to employees who do not understand English Please do not support these types of businesses that enrich their pockets by mistreating their employees. read more

Best brunch spot for a family in all of Ridgewood, maybe all of Bergen County. Their booths are perfect for your kids and the ambiance is always upbeat and pleasant. I love the food At Raymond's. The fish tacos, omelettes, quiche, and soups are all delicious. Their BLT is the best I've ever had, and I will go to Raymond's just for that. I'd give 4.5 stars for the food if that were possible. The reason for the 2 stars is the service. The servers are friendly, but every time I am there it is like they literally forget me. Today it took 45 minutes to get two BLT sandwiches - ridiculous. Once the sandwiches arrived, no one ever checked back with us. I was seated outside, and got tired of waiting and had to go in and track down an employee to ask for the check. By the time I got the check, I had been there for almost and hour and half, for two simple sandwiches! This is not a covid related issue, the service is consistently slow and inattentive. Came here around 9:45 on a Tuesday morning, finding parking wasn't too bad and there were quite a few parties seated inside. My friend and I chose a well-lit table for two in the front portion of the restaurant adjacent to the windows, rather than the dim cushion seating or the booths towards the back. Most of the bar seats were empty. Service was friendly but very, very unattentive. We were served water by a waitress and then we had to flag down another waiter to take our order. My friend ordered a matcha latte and french toast, and I got the Norwegian eggs benedict and chai. The french toast was obviously not made with sliced loaf bread, which I'm used to, but rather chunks sliced from a baguette? Personally, I believe this elevated the dish, but it isn't anything to REALLY rave about. The matcha was apparently too strong for her tastes. My eggs were just slightly overcooked; I couldn't do a classic 'yolk porn' spill when I cut into them. The smoked salmon, potato panckes, and arugula underneath were good. All in all, I cleaned my plate- partially because it tasted good and partially because the portion was a bit smaller than I expected. Yogic chai was average. I got the small size for $3.50 and it was refreshing and enough to be spread out for a few sips throughout my meal. Again, when we were finished it was very difficult to flag down a server for our check, which seemed strange because they were all standing around. I'm very sure I made eye contact with our first waitress, who was then stamping placemats (with the restaurant's name), but I suppose she felt she only had one chance to stop stamping, which was to serve us the complimentary water. An attendant not in a uniform or apron was standing, waiting for patrons to come in and was POINTEDLY avoiding my eyes AND my waving arms. The man behind the bar had to attend to us. Sigh. I'd come back, maybe with a larger party so that they'd have to pay attention to us, maybe. read more

Tasty food but be prepared to wait. Cute decor and friendly staff. Local spot everyone likes to goto on the weekends for brunch

Disappointed that they are unwilling to go back to the old favorite and preferred recipes for breakfast. The updated Breakfast Burrito, French Toast and Pancakes are all disappointing and we're much better before. When I asked if the chef would be willing to make the old burrito recipe I was told by the waitstaff that he was unwilling to makes changes and might get mad if we ask. I have always loved Raymond's but I don't enjoy being treated like I am a problem client because I do not comply with a waiter's sales pressure. For example yesterday a Raymond's waiter's ask repeatedly if you want to order more food when I clearly understand what I and my wife want? I assume that they just need to sell more to make more money. But when the restaurant is almost empty off hours it's just obnoxious and rude. read more
