I was so close to ordering a burrito bc I wanted rice, but the Taco Veggie solved that problem. Next time I'll order a taco plate so I can get more rice, or maybe that burrito that I'm still thinking I want! I would order all three of the tacos again as well. I wish that the in-store menu was as colorful as the online menu. I would have loved the coconut horchata, but I must have missed that when I was looking at the menu. When I was composting my plate I saw that they were making fresh orange juice as well. Yum! I was really pleased with the bottle of sparkling water I had but will opt for something a little more fun to drink on my next visit. A front row parking spot might be tricky with the limited parking on the street, but it was possible to find a spot nearby on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Easy to order, friendly service, and food was brought to our table. No seating inside, but it was a lovely day and there are a few tables outside for dining. Of course, Lake Merritt is basically across the street so you could always order to-go and picnic over there. I lost count, but there were a number of pick-up orders while we

Ala combo - ***** w/chicken, kofte, and since they were out of lamb we opted for beef / kulbasti. Of the 3 meats, the kulbasti was my fave. The combo is shareable for 2 since it comes with pita, rice, salad, and some grilled onions and bell peppers used for plating. Baklava w/pistachios ***** divine and not too sweet or wet. We had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Dare I say, it's almost as good as Michael Mina's Orla (Las Vegas, NV). Of course it's not as fancy / pricey, but the food was delicious and the hospitality was warm and inviting. We will be back for more...do yourself a favor and try out Ala if you haven't already.

I was able to order the Muhammara dip, falafel, halloumi and pistachio baklava (they do offer walnut). My favorites were the muhammara, which was the richest version of this dip that I've ever had and the baklava. Regarding the dip, I wonder if they char the bell peppers to the extreme. Yum! The baklava was perfection even though they were only bite sized morsels. I definitely could do without either of the other dishes. Falafels had an off taste and the halloumi didn't have the crisp exterior I enjoy. Was the baklava overpriced ($7)? I'll let you be the judge. It was tasty. Here's What I Think...if you're in the neighborhood and want a quick bite, grab some baklava and muhammara.

When I came back to them a couple years later, the price point had gone up & I was priced out.) The portion sizes were large. I think it was like $12-13/meal. 99% of the dishes were delicious. I was REALLY pleasantly surprised at the flavor & taste. I expected gentrified dishes. It was good! I was also specifically looking for meal delivery that generated less waste. Planter table delivered that. I got cool enough with my driver (and tipped well!) that he brought me a little thank you plant. I loved that I had the same driver each time. It was just a really pleasant experience overall. Nothing bad to say.

They have family style option to get a bigger portion for those who have a family, or for me, to bring to a pot luck. They also have individual desserts and full size pies/cakes. Seriously - they have everything. They no longer offer wine for those who care. There are some additional pick up options, too, but I stick with Jack London Square on Wednesdays from 11:30-2:00. The decor, the attitude, and the music all lean into it--they were blasting metal while I was there, which gives the place a fun, high-energy vibe that feels a little different from your typical pizza spot. If you're into that scene, you'll probably love it. The setup is super casual. You order at the counter and can hang out while you wait. They've got a great beer selection, and there's even an arcade area where you can play some games while your food is being made. It feels like the kind of place where you could easily kick back with friends for a while. I went with the Mortian, their all-meat pizza, and it was absolutely packed with toppings--pepperoni, sausage, and bacon, all garnished with prosciutto. If you're a meat lover, this one delivers. Every slice was loaded and really flavorful. The crust deserves a shout-out too. It's not thin crust, but it's also not deep dish. It lands right in that perfect middle zone--crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Really satisfying and a great base for all those toppings. Even though I ordered it to go, the pizza held up great and was seriously delicious. I'd absolutely order their pizza again and look forward to trying more of the menu next time.

I'd recommend ordering to-go from here vs. waiting in person.

Oh my goodness was this one of the best vegan pizzas I've ever had! Special Pizza Collab with Lion Dance Cafe: FLAMING PUMPKIN PIZZA - Thinly shaved delicata squash marinated with garlic and evoo, vegan mozzarella cheese, drizzled with LDC's special recipe for Fresno chili sambal sauce with ginger and calamansi, roasted peanuts, and Thai basil leaves. All the flavors and textures melded so well together and it wasn't particularly 'hot' spicy. I especially loved the marinated slivers of delicata squash and LDC's special sambal sauce - especially since it contained calamansi! (one of my favorite citrus flavors). Even though the pizza is vegan (for those on this type of diet), honestly, I think everyone would enjoy and love this gourmet pizza. The thin crust had a perfectly nice mouthfeel and was baked just right. The LDC chef duo is relocating to Singapore next week, but this Collab Pizza will still be available at Bare Knuckle Pizza until tomorrow night, Saturday March 7th, this special collab is to help with the launch of LDC's new recipe book - so get a taste of this collab pizza while you can!

The peaches aren't overwhelming and added a nice sweet tint. The cheese is more pungent. Bare Knuckle has some uncommon pizza flavors, but so far all of the ones I've tried have been good.
