We…read morearrived a bit early so they sat us in the "lounge" instead of the dining room but we were okay with this since the seats were by the window overlooking the water instead of the middle of the dining room. We mainly wanted drinks and maybe an app anyways. Ambiance is immersive with the tiki experience but still feels open. Large windows overlooking the bay and boats, music is very quiet. Casual and relaxed vibe feeling like an island escape. Water was promptly provided and was kept refilled throughout our visit. We tried 4 cocktails. Solid painkiller and variety of drinks and flavors but my absolute favorite was the "Cucu Lada" this was essentially a piña colada with cucumber. Really refreshing and nicely prepared with crushed ice. We also tried the crab rangoons. These came out ultra fast but were not hot, seems like they prep them ahead of time. The dips were awesome though, we loved the spicy mustard that they were served with. Never had that before with rangoons. Our service was great for the most part up until the end when we were trying to leave it seemed difficult to flag our server down so we could close out and leave. Overall it was fun and if back in the area I'd gladly return for another Cucu lada and maybe try some dinner menu items. Don't forget to checkout the gift shop for some fun tiki mugs and memorabilia.

Pros were the attentive service and organized presentation of the food. However, the food quality fell flat for me for the high prices. Appetizer dish for 2 and the fried rice were ok but there was just something missing in the taste profile. Chicken wings were good and had a kick. The cheese bings did not taste good- it may have been a flavor preference- but we sent it back and they were nice enough to remove it from the bill. On the fence if I'd come back- maybe the dinner menu's better!

The Fall feels like starts around Labor Day. The Summer is still with us until September 22 this…read moreyear and the sun will be showing up a little less. One type of food which takes me back to the Summer is Hawaiian food. There are many good places to grab Hawaiian food. One particular Hawaiian dish is one of which a few places make good which is Loco Moco. I say not all Loco Moco are the same. Some places that serve Loco Moco are more Moco ( means booger in Spanish) making me Loco( means crazy in Spanish). There is a place in Berkeley I like to get good Moco Loco at and it's called Moku Hawaiian. On a September Summer stroll I landed in Berkeley for some Hawaiian food. Inside the decor which caught my eye was on the wall with artwork of Kaws. The walls were also covered with surf boards. There were a few tables inside. There was a line up to order using a digital kiosk. I had ordered the Loco Moco. It came with a well seasoned Mac salad and the beef of loco Moco was so tender and the sauce was tasty. The egg within the loco moco made the dish stand out more with the different combinations of flavor. I am excited to try it again. I washed it down with some Hawaiian Sun Luau Punch which was not too sweet and packed a punch. Overall a great value. They have delicious food worth "buying"they give you a lot of food which is worthy of "trying"and the flavor is tasty and there is no "denying"located in Berkeley off of Telegraph and it's called "Moku Hawaiian" Come in here don't be playing with your food like a toddler especially splattering the moco loco "sauce" have some table manners just "because" it's not cool being selfish just do it for a social media "floss" stop being performative and just be authentic and enjoy the Moku Hawaiian food with art on the wall by "Kaws"

I'm not that hard a sell on Hawaiian plate lunches, but I can tell the difference between…read moreexceptional ones from the ones that just cut the mustard. Actually mustard might be a helpful condiment to offer to address the blandness of the food here. I'm not saying it's bad here because it clearly satisfies the student populace who obviously need sustenance to make it through their midterms and finals. For me as someone many years from my undergrad days, however, my point of reference relates to the plate lunches I could find on Oahu. Using that point of comparison, I suggested to Jamie W that we give it a try during one of our weekend Berkeley walks. Jamie ordered the $14.99 BBQ Chicken & Beef Combo Meal. It was a hefty portion suitable for a growing post-adolescent. The meal came with the requisite two scoops of rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and steamed cabbage underneath the meat (Photo 5). He pronounced it middling when it came to flavor satisfaction. I went for the $13.99 Hawaiian BBQ Beef Bowl. It came with the same sides, and the satisfaction level was comparable (Photo 6). Listen, if I was young and running late to my study group, I'd be so in. We entered a few minutes before peak dinner times, so there were seats to choose and sit from. By the time we left, mostly all the seats were filled up, so I would suggest coming in early. I liked the naming for each of the ramen dishes, some I recognized the names from Hawai'i. For this round, we ordered 3 different types of ramen: the Kuni, Broke da Mouth, and the Miso Hungry. These orders also came around the same time. A notable elements I liked about the ramen was that the noodles were chewy and springy, and the broth was smooth and easy to drink. I also didn't have the urge to drink lots of water either, so the seasoning was perfect. The other element was that I got to enjoy the ramen's broth and noodles as the stars of the dish, and the proteins, like the pork were supporting roles. For me, what I enjoy ramen are the broth and noodles, so I'm happy that these are prominent in the dish, rather than me having other chow down a thick slab of pork. This restaurant hit the right marks for what a delicious ramen is for me, so I'll come back, and maybe try their other broths.

The atmosphere was chill and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We ended up talking for hours about everything until I realized how late it was and the bowls were cleared. They were patient and didn't kick us out right away. Lol Ty Ty Very good ramen, good place to catch up and friendly staff. I'm still biased and have a few favorite ramen spots though

Their menu offers plate meals, sides, desserts, and drinks. As a commercial kitchen (aka "ghost kitchen"), they have no dining room. Everything is either takeout or delivery. On a Saturday, I happen to notice Big Daddy Hawaiian BBQ in San Mateo on Yelp. I did some research and discovered they had a location at the Adeline Food Hall. Doordash was offering a promo to try this new place, so I placed an order. I ordered: the Large Mixed Plate, which included two proteins, a side of rice, and a side of mac salad. The Large Mixed Plate is $19.00. I asked for BBQ Chicken and Fried Chicken. Anything else, you have to pay extra. I also selected Hawaiian BBQ Sauce. How's the food? This food tastes really good. The bbq chicken is moist and easy to eat. The fried chicken is moist and crisp. The rice is fresh and soft. The mac salad doesn't taste pre-made. Very good food. My chicken was served on a bed of rice. So when you pour the sauce over the chicken, it soaks into the rice. However, this food is pricey. The last time I was at Ono Hawaiian BBQ (Oakland) a BBQ Chicken meal cost around $13-14, and the servings were much larger. Big Daddy's Hawaiian BBQ does offer a smaller $15 plate. But they also charge 25 cents for fork/spoon and a napkin. Overall, the food is good, and the Adeline Food Hall has a nice location.

Satay chicken salad -- very fresh and flavorful. the grilled chicken was very well marinated, and had lots of flavor. It came with a vinaigrette and a yummy peanut dipping sauce on the side. We thought it could use a little more greens, as the portion felt somewhat small. Curry fried chicken bowl -- this was our favorite thing that we got! The curry was flavorful and there was the perfect amount of it over the chicken and rice. There was a healthy portion of fried chicken and rice, which we appreciated. The chicken itself was super crispy and yummy. All of the components went very well together, and we really loved this one! Pickles -- this was just okay to me. the pickled vegetables consisted of assorted veggies including green beans, peppers, and cabbage. The veggies had a slight sweetness to them, but also were spicy!
