Donut Petite has some unusual donuts. The Pistachio old Fashioned is really a tasty donut. If you like pistachios, you should try it. The Maple Bacon is another good one to try.
When in Alameda in the mornings, I make it a point to pop by, specifically for the donut kebobs for my kids. However, I don't remember them being this expensive. I understand rising costs, but a 40% increase in 2 years is way too steep. Two yrs ago these were $2.50/each. In the last 2 yrs, I have bought them multiple times mixed with other types of donuts so I didn't realized their hefty increased prices until today when I only bought these. I was charged $3.50/each. I paid over $11 (incl tax) for 3 sticks. Now that I know I will sadly have to pass on this shop going forward. It is not worth the extreme pricing.
Donut Petit has high quality donuts in unique flavors, good and strong coffee, and great customer service! There is seating both indoors and limited seating outdoors. I love that they also have vegan options both for donuts and coffee. My go to is an iced pandan latte with oat milk and a blueberry donut!
The absolute best donut place, ever- not just in The Bay. If you've ever been to a Bay Area flea or farmer's market in Oakland or Alameda; chances are you've seen Donut Petit. If you haven't tried them- you're missing out. I've attached a photo with a breakdown of flavors that they offer. Even with their market presence outside of their brick-and-mortar location- each staff person is great. We prefer going to the location in Alameda as the Strawberry Flat is not usually among the selections they bring to the farmer's and flea markets where they are posted up at each weekend, or monthly depending on the market. I suggest going early in the morning, they open at 8A, but close by 1P. By about 10:30A or 11A- most of the best flavors are gone. Their donuts don't weigh you down, are made with real ingredients and aren't oily like other donut spots of the past. Their Alameda HQ is a cutest French type of vibe, perfectly branded with their signature blue. Come in, grab your favorite flavors- you won't be disappointed. I suggest you start with the Strawberry Shortcake. Finish off with Strawberry Flat, if you can get your hands on one- they are a light and airy finisher that won't leave you in a slump after consumption. Trust me, it's good.
Donut Petit had a pop up at South Shore Center with the full display out. Donuts stacked. Prices posted. Everything looking like they were open. I walked up to buy one and the lady told me she wasn't open yet. Made no sense at all because the donuts were already sitting there ready to go. I should have trusted my first mind and kept it pushing. On my way out I figured I'd grab a few for my girl. Walked back to the stand and the lady acted like she wanted no parts of helping me. No greeting. No customer service. I asked what kind of donuts they were and she gave me the driest explanation possible like she was doing me a favor. They do have a creative style of donuts but my girl said they looked way better than they tasted. Between that and the attitude I experienced, I'll never be back.
This is a cute neighborhood donut shop. That was worth the drive. Parking is super easy and plentiful. I took a 20-minute drive because I was in the mood for a cream Brulé doughnut. It was worth the drive. We ordered the pistachio old-fashioned 10 out of 10 the cream Brulé doughnut, 10 out of 10 and the blue berry crumble six out of 10. Whatever topping that they put on the blueberry crumble was delicious I dipped the pistachio old-fashioned in the white cream cherry on top. Will we return absolutely. I recommend that you try this doughnut shop too. they also have outdoor seating. For my drink, I chose the London Fog latte. It was a perfect temperature to indulge in right away. No need to wait for it to cool off. PS never thought we would spend over $19 for three donuts and a small latte. But here we are and I guess I'll be doing it again one day soon.
I had a Cronut this morning. The majority is that of a croissant in a rectangular shape with a sweet filling atop the center with two berries. This was truly good. Outside the powdered sugar flew off at times. It did cost $6 but is a high quality item. I would recommend it. This is my first time here at this establishment. Also if you venture here it would be advisable to go EARLY. By the time I arrived around 9:30 am a lot of the donuts/pastries had already been taken. This shop has a nice ambiance.
Donuts are pricier than the normal donut shop but donuts are made with more care. Pistachio donut st 4.50 is pricey for the size but it tastes really good. Short line that comes and goes and there's sitting area inside which is actually super cute although it's kind of messy because there's no extra staff that is able to bus tables.
WHEN: Sat @10am This super cute donut shop has a wide range of options when it comes to their donuts, and they have non-donut items too! It's fun to see such unique donuts and flavors, and it may take awhile for you to decide. But seriously, try and decide fast and not hold up the line (and keep the staff waiting), or let the next person order. There are seatings both indoors and outdoors. Parking may be tricky as you may need to park a bit farther down towards the neighborhood, but hey, at least it's not metered (free!) With their tier pricing systems, it's not as straight forward as it seems, since each pricing tier has its own pricing range...so it's honestly pointless, unless you are purchasing by the dozen or something. Otherwise, just look at the donuts themselves for pricing, cuz they are VERY clear with that and I appreciate it! Here's what I had today and back in Dec: OLD-FASHIONED PISTACHIO - $3.75Easily a favorite. The vibrant green is although pretty, it makes me a bit nervous guessing the amount of artificial coloring there is in it. It's not nutty (no actual pistachio nuts) which is perhaps why I like it so much. OLD-FASHIONED RASPBERRY LEMON - $3.75It's like a lemon old-fashioned with freeze-dry raspberry powder. I like that the lemon flavor isn't too strong, and I enjoyed this one a lot. Haven't seen this anywhere else! DONUT KABOB - $2.50The most clever thing ever! It's so much fun, it's shareable, and it's delicious! It's 5 donut holes, with pink frosting and sprinkles on a skewer. I LOVED it! Donut Petit is the cutest donut shop I've ever set foot in, and you can tell they care a lot about their branding. So expect the pricing to be significantly higher than most local donut shops (like double) and there's tax on top of the cost. Just a heads up. Oh and come early because they seem to sell out around noon.
My favorite donut spot on the island! I've spotted them at Southshore on weekends, between Trader Joe's and Safeway. They're also available on the Too Good To Go app, where you can grab a half dozen.
Oh my goodness, this place is amazing! The moment you walk in you're hit with the delicious aroma of fresh donuts! They have a big selection of donuts that look incredible. I got the half dozen to be able to try a variety. When you get the half dozen you get a free buttermilk donut and I opted for maple. The standouts for me were the pistachio old fashioned donut and the lavender donut. I am a sucker for pistachio anything but always hesitant as I feel most pistachio items don't taste enough like it. This donut was SUPERB, delicious and busting with pistachio flavor! The lavender one was also really good, the lavender wasn't overpowering and the donut itself was fluffy and delicious! The service was great and the cashier was so nice! I will definitely be back again!'
Discovered these delicious donuts at the Lake Merritt farmers market when visiting recently! There were so many yummy looking ones but the staff helped me choose the best one for that day given the chilly weather. I went for the pumpkin donut and definitely was not disappointed! I got one for me and a treat for a friend to enjoy later. Such a delightful Saturday surprise.

Picked up some of these donuts for breakfast as we drove to meet our daughter for graduation weekend and they were a great pick! The donuts were absolutely delicious and exceptionally fresh but the thing I liked most was the choice of flavors! We got a Boston Creme, s'mores and my favorite - a chocolate eclair! As a Brit, these are the closest thing I have tried in the US to a British chocolate eclair with a whipped creme filling! Would definitely try more flavors read more

Now living further away from my favorite donut shop in Temescal, I've been hunting for a closer option in Alameda. The first stop on my list was Donut Petit. My research mostly aggregated one piece of advice: get there at open or before 9am. I can certainly see why because it's a cute shop situated right off Webster in the West Alameda neighborhood; easy striking distance from kids, families, and remote workers. They opened at promptly 8am and the worker was very nice. The pricing is a little on the higher side but the donuts so far meet expectations in terms of flavor, texture, and sweetness. My half dozen consisted of original glaze, maple old fashion, strawberry flat, apple fritter, cinnamon flower (basically the swirl with donut-hole bits you can pull off), and blueberry. There was no greasy after taste, and the crunch was quite nice. So far, so good! I will definitely return, but I do wish it opened earlier to pick up before heading to work. They do allow for online orders though, which is a plus. read more

Donut Petit had a kiosk today (Saturday) in the South Shore shopping lot between Trader Joe's and Safeway. Nice surprise with a limited selection of their donuts. The kiosk currently only accepts Venmo or cash payment though. Picked up a raspberry creme cronut pastry, maple bacon donut, and pumpkin spice donut. read more

I've had my eye on this place for awhile to try the cronuts! I was finally able to drop by and grab both the bavarian cream cronut and the chocolate mousse cronut. My friend grabbed the boston cream and old fashioned pistachio but I didn't try them. This was my first time trying a cronut so I'm not sure how they usually are but I liked these! It was flatter, though bigger, than some others I've seen from other bakeries. They had the choice of glazed or powdered sugar but I chose glazed so there was less of a mess. The cronuts had the essential flaky and buttery layers of a croissant, while tasting of a glazed donut. It tasted really good, at least for me. I will say I thought there would be cream/mousse throughout the cronut but it was just a dollop in the middle. I wish there was more since not every bite had the filling and it was so little. The shop is very cute and relaxing. There were many other donuts but I was really focused on the cronuts. Staff was nice and patient while I was deciding. They had seasonal flavors as well that looked good! read more

I've been coming to Donut Petit for well over a year now, and I always order the Le Ding donut. It's my absolute favorite, and it's always been filled with whipped cream. Lately it's been filled with some really, really bad frosting. So bad I threw the donuts in the garbage. Today I went and asked specifically if they were filled with frosting or whipped cream. The lady behind the counter was very nice and went and asked the baker, said they even tasted it, and verified it was whipped cream. Great, I'll take 2. I left to finish errands and get home, they are filled with the really, really bad frosting. I'm not sure how you mistook frosting for whipped cream, but this was a wasted trip for me as I threw them in the garbage. I will not be going back here again. read more
This location has a nice array for donuts that are quite creative such as Smores, Fruity Pebbles, Boston Cream Pie and Crème Brule. They also offer vegan and gluten free donuts as well as different coffee creations (lattes, cappuccinos, etc). The staff is pretty nice and friendly. The downsides are that the wait can be a bit long and there isn't a huge area to wait inside. You kind of are smushed up against the chairs where patrons are seated. Another downside is that on pretty popular days, donuts go by so quickly by like 10am so you gotta get the popular ones quick, like those FABULOUS donut kabobs! Still, we love coming here for my son's weekly treat for being an awesome kiddo at school. It's part of routine and a very easy stop after Saturdays Farmers Market. Came here for some quick doughnuts to pick up and thought to myself WOW, they got wayyy more than just doughnuts here! they have a whole selection of goodies and treats to chose from! They must be popular from the line and online pickup orders, people were coming in and out of there with orders! As you can see from the pictures they do wayy more than just doughnuts. They have quite a selection to chose from! the fave out of my selection has got to be the pistachio & the one with the macron on top. They were so delish and so much packed flavor in one lil tiny treat!!! I loved every bite of it and some! Can't wait for my next visit with Petit so I can make sure to grab a full dozen instead of half! Service is also superb! DEF a fan and cant wait to get more treats from you guys real soon! read more
Can't go wrong the donuts! This places is so cute. Parking lot right next to the store which makes it really convenient. There was a farmers market happening during the time of my visit but I was lucky to find parking. I was greeting by a nice lady! Got some donuts for my daughter and her friends and they loved it!! Not too sweet and it was nice and soft! Can't wait to come back to try the other flavors. read more

This really beats all donut places! It's not just a "doughnut!" it's more than a doughnut! Had the opportunity to try this place out and it did not disappoint. If there's one pastry you need to try in your life, it's the MONTE CRISTO!! SO incredibly good! Perhaps one of the best pastries I've had anywhere. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. Loved the flaky, crispy exterior and the softer inside filled w cheese and ham. The jam really added another level of goodness. Simply couldn't be more pleased with this item and would definitely get it again. Another star of the bunch was the old fashion pistachio donut. It was tremendously moist and flavorful. The pistachio flavor was very apparent and delicious. The flower donut was surprisingly good as well! It looked so simple and yet it was coated in honey and was delicious! Mochi donuts were fresh but not chewy enough in texture for a mochi donut. The donuts were especially fresh even when we couldn't finish them all I had to eat them the next day. When they stamp "made with love" on the box, you can genuinely tell it truly was made with love! read more
I love the entrance, and it vibrate colors. Super welcoming, and found this hidden gem. Lots of yummy flavors, and had special theme for st. Patty day. As a chocoholic, I couldn't resist. Recommend coming in early so there are many options left to choose from. I do love it's behind a nice, clean and safe glass. There were only one customer when I arrived at 10:30am. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I love my Sencha tea, and I'll get a bigger size next time. The donuts I got were fluffy, fresh and not oily like some other places. read more
Bon Appetit on Donut Petit cuz these are treats you 'donut' want to miss! :) Omgoodness - let me just say, we cross the Caldecott tunnel for these doughnuts because they're JUST that great! They offer treats for everyone - vegans and non-vegans alike. And while ALL their doughnuts taste SUPER good, we do have some honorable faves: Vegan - blueberry, chocolate, and powdered / Non-Vegan - buttermilk, old fashion pistachio. Service is always great - the staff is friendly, professional and very patient. The indoor decor is the cutest ever - a perfect little spot to chill. My sugar rush has brought me here, well, despite of my willingness to lose weight, i craved donuts so bad... My first visit to try this place... Even though, I thought I've come early enough to be able to choose from a variety of different types but NAH lol surprisingly the trays were almost empty... sad... but yeah I'm not leaving empty handed... They look good and taste good! I will come back some other day way earlier hoping that i will see full trays... read more

Fwiw they explained to me how they start with the gluten free donuts so as to avoid cross contamination. My celiac daughter tried one and had no reaction. They are mighty tasty too.
