After calling and meeting with several contractors and companies in the area we settled with Attar at Pacific West Homes & Renovations. Attar immediate stood out as both responsive and knowledgeable regarding our various needs. We recently completed a repair in our home and I am happy to say that our experience was very positive. From the initial quote, scheduling the work, and follow up Attar has been attentive through the whole process. The work was completed to budget and on time. Additionally, we had some questions a few days after our work was completed and Attar responded immediately. This is especially telling about their company ethics. Many services will have delayed response times or require chasing after payment has been made against a project. I definitely recommend Attar and Pacific West Homes & Renovations for your home improvements needs.

We contracted with Attar and had high hopes. He wrote a time and materials contract, but we told…read morehim we had a pretty tight budget for our tub remodel and he said he thought we could do the work within the dollar amount we gave him. He was very slow and ran us way over budget (he essentially billed us 89.00 per hour to put in tile, and he seriously billed us for 48 hours of tile work to put in 45 pieces of 12x24 tile). When we would ask for estimates to finish, he gave an estimate, and then took twice as long as his estimate. When we confronted him, he literally said, it's time and materials, it is what it is. We finally had him stop work when he was close to 50% over our original estimate (and he STILL wasn't finished). The final quality of work was so bad, we had to hire a new contractor and have all the tile torn out and start over. Be careful!

Only several months after they installed the bathtub, the caulking they used around the tub cracked and disintegrated. And, I learned today from a plumber that the bathtub itself was not put in properly-- they did not use a mortar bed! This is one of many examples of the corner cutting and sloppy work from Marin VIP Builders. I waited too long to file a complaint with the Oregon CCB. My advice: look elsewhere for your contractor.

We hired Isaac and team to replace our kitchen counter tops, install tile back splash, and install…read morenew kitchen sink/faucet. We have a smaller kitchen (about 25 sq ft of counter top space). Photos show before on the left (or top), and after on the right (or bottom). The work was completed March 2024. Isaac was honest, straight forward, patient, and quick to respond to questions or concerns. His recommendations (e.g., 3cm thick quartz counter top), though expensive, were high-quality and ultimately a decision we do not regret. The sub-contractors were respectful and took their time, and did excellent work. Some additional details: For insurance purposes, we wanted the invoice of the kitchen counter tops. After several requests, Isaac was able to get this to us. We suspect the delay on this was due to the subcontractor: The invoice was issued by the vendor (Architectural Surfaces), addressed to the counter-top subcontractor, and had to be obtained from the subcontractor. Isaac was very professional, patiently replying to our several requests, and ultimately delivered the invoice. The project start date was delayed about 2-3 days due to cutting/delivery of the counter tops, but Isaac was quick to let us know this and quick to reschedule the start date. The counter tops and sink were installed in about 1-2 days, and the tile back splash and detail work took about 2 more days. I believe the work started on a Thursday and was completed by Sunday. Delays like these may not work for some people, but they were not a problem for us; it was very convenient that Isaac's team could come in on the weekend to complete the work. We did not get other bids on this kitchen-counter remodel, but we did have Isaac submit a bid for a master-bath remodel. Comparing his bid to two others, we can say his pricing is competitive.

Jim has excellent tradespeople that treated us and our project with respect and care. A little about our project - Three years ago we began planning our business, a pet supply boutique and grooming studio. As part of our business plan process, we needed to be able to estimate construction costs, so I searched for contractors online and reached out to J Boyer Construction who picked up the phone and we began to discuss the range of pricing a project like this might cost us. Two years ago, we began actively searching for a suitable location and several times. We included Jim on walkthroughs of possible stores as we trusted his opinion on the challenges that could arise in the buildout. At the beginning of 2022, we found a suitable storefront and J Boyer Construction was fast to schedule all of his trades for a walkthrough and quickly provided a quote for our project. The demo was quick (luckily only 2 walls needed to come down). The construction went fairly smoothly (you hear so many horror-stories) even with slow permitting by the city and some supply chain delays - we had given ourselves a realistic opening day and we were able to open on time! What I think stands out is Jim's commitment to making the project work for our needs from our introduction through the to the very end. We had a little issue with the final step of the project, but he was diligent in finding a solution to meet our needs. The grooming studio and store look beautiful and we're very happy with the quality of construction and the advice we were given along the way. So for any business looking for a trustworthy, hardworking, ethical and fair contractor, reach out to Jim at J Boyer Construction!

Jim and Sandy Boyer helped us to navigate a difficult process with their helpfulness, insight, thoroughness, professionalism and integrity. They remodeled our kitchen, a bathroom, laundry room and supervised the installation of new flooring through our whole house. Their recommendations and guidance improved upon our original designer's plans immensely. They always communicated with us effectively and positively. We came to rely, with complete trust, on what they would recommend and what they saw throughout the project. They approached their general contractor role with complete thoroughness and attention to detail. The quality of their craftsmanship is second to none and this extends to the subcontractors that they select to do the various parts of the project. His cabinetmaker, Henry's Custom Cabinets is one of the best in the business. Jim Boyer always made sure that the work of all the subs was likewise thorough, complete and on time. We feel blessed to have found and worked with such a quality contractor as J. Boyer Construction.

The communication was excellent, the crews were very hard working and precise. With every unexpected thing that came up (we expected the unexpected when remodeling a 50 year old house), both Dustin and Mike from 4M were extremely responsive, did a great job of laying out our options, cost, schedule etc. I also cannot say enough great things about Aurel and his crew. The work ethic and attention to detail were extremely impressive. Most of all - because we were living in the house throughout the remodel (turning our primary suite into a pseudo-kitchen/dining/family room) - they were extremely respectful and helped keep the rest of our house clean and functional to the extent possible. That made a huge difference in our overall experience throughout the process. Highly recommend and we will definitely use them for future projects!

It also took a few complaints and having them redo their work to get it right. I asked them to install a new kitchen faucet for me and within a week, the fitting was loose and not functioning properly. They came out to fix it and about a month or so later, the same issue came up. He said he would send someone out to fix it again and never did, and never called or messaged me back. The owner is a nice guy and so are his employees. Very respectful workers. However, when you are a business and you say you are going to do something, you do it or you reach out to your customer to tell them why it's delayed. This company has left a very bad taste in my mouth when it comes to contractors. If you're looking for a contractor, I highly advise you look elsewhere.

Tyrone completely removed the old, rotting deck and rebuilt it from the ground up. The new porch includes all-new framing and supports, beautiful composite deck boards, and a vinyl railing from TimberTech. The transformation is truly night and day. What was once an old, worn-out deck is now a beautiful, sturdy, and welcoming outdoor space. We also installed a new front door, which made a huge difference. If you are looking for a reliable, honest, and family-owned company in Beaverton, Oregon, I would strongly recommend contacting Tyrone at Woodland Construction Group. You will not be disappointed. Thank you again, Tyrone, for all your hard work. We will definitely be reaching out again for our next project.

Woodland Construction Group exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The space originally had an open niche next to the oven and microwave, and we wanted a floor to ceiling pantry that looked like it had been installed with the original kitchen. Woodland Construction Group custom built and installed a beautiful pantry cabinet, and the match to our existing cabinetry is absolutely perfect. The color, style, trim work, and finish blend seamlessly with the rest of the kitchen. You truly cannot tell it was added after the home was built. What makes this cabinet even better is the functionality. They incorporated custom pull out drawers and installed electrical outlets inside the cabinet, allowing us to create a hidden coffee bar. We can keep our coffee maker, blender, and other small appliances tucked away behind closed doors while still having easy access to everything. The pantry storage is incredible, and the pull out shelves make it easy to organize and reach items without digging through deep cabinets. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality of work are exceptional. The team was professional, communicative, punctual, and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. If you're looking for custom cabinetry or home improvements that look like they were always part of your home, I highly recommend Woodland Construction Group. We couldn't be happier with the finished product, and it has completely transformed both the appearance and functionality of our kitchen.

We didn't want to replace them with generic windows from a manufacturer so he took out the rotten sashes and repaired them at his workshop, replacing the rotten wood with clean new wood. His work was careful and innovative -- it was a really difficult repair -- and he left the place completely tidy. Dann also rebuilt our back outdoor stairs and did a tidy, solid job of it. His rates are reasonable and he's quick, a great communicator and easy to be around. We recommended Dan to a friend who needed some fairly extensive work done in her kitchen and she said his work was excellent and he was a joy to have around (she works at home).
