Decided to try this place, and maybe should have read reviews before going...but I like to be my own critic. Service was pretty good considering that the food was on the extremely bland and unseasoned side. My husband got the falafel tacos and said that each bite had cardamom husks in it which made the dish unenjoyable to eat. I opted for the carne asada burrito, which was just okay...beans were cold and unappetizing. It was a nice vibe, but the food left us feeling meh. read more

Consistently bad food. Poorly cooked. Poorly seasoned. No parking. Outdoor seating is just feet away from moving vehicles in a busy roundabout. Good cocktails and decent tequila selection. If you're walking downtown and craving tequila, that would be the only reason to stop here. If you're hungry though, skip this one. You can get delicious, authentic Mexican food 1.5mi North of Raul's at La Cocina or 0.5 mi south at Mi Rancho - both are much better options. read more

Returned after four summers, this time during the daytime. Was able to interact with the manager and bartender, who were both good folk. Every drink ordered had salt in it. Not on the rim... in it! One member of our party ordered a tequila and water, every person of our party of 11 tried it and confirmed it was just salt water. The margaritas were similarly salty. Service was for the most part, one drink was forgotten but was brought with the next round of drinks with an apology for the wait. Stopped in on Friday after work, thinking a margarita and early dinner here would be good. Yikes we're we wrong. Bartender was also the waitress, ordered margarita and a Modelo. Ordered chips and salsa and carne asada burrito and brisket burrito. Absolutely no flavor, from the ground up tomatoes "salsa" to beans and rice... not good. I had a great experience, first time eating at Raul's. I had the special Chipotle Oork Tacos with pineapple salsa. The pork was fork tender and spiced just right. Rice and beans were a bit bland, I looked for hot sauce or salt, but were absent on the table. It came with a side salad I chose the mango dressing. I don't remember the dressings flavor. Over all it was good, we may be back. For 3 of us (1 margarita, 1 corona) was $98. So $25 for 2 tacos? You decide. read more

Poor service last time we went, very slow. Food was not satisfactory. Portions small. My son said the tacos tasted funny but I didn't think anything of it until he got food poisoning from the beef brisket tacos. I have been disappointed the last few times coming here but keep trying to give it another chance. Taco salad, even the half portion was too small and dry chicken. There are definitely better Mexican options in the area. I hate leaving bad reviews and feel bad bc I want these local places to do well, but maybe this will be noticed and they can change. The food was bland and overpriced. I ordered a burrito that was almost $20. It was smaller than a Taco Bell burrito. My daughter had a cheese quesadilla off the kids menu that barely had any cheese on it but it did have peppers on it. Kids usually don't like spicy. Aye carumba! This is a tough review. The 2 stars are only because the food is decent borderline good. The service is non existent. They took our order, dropped it off and brought the check. With 30 minutes in between each of the visits. Had to go for a napkin search ourselves which was unsuccessful and forget about having your drink refilled. Will not ever go back. read more

Wasted calories and expensive food. Without tip we had an $85.00 lunch that was the daily special. Two small tacos, a salad, rice, two for $24.50, each, not so special. My friend and I was with had to order four differently drinks that were on the menu but they were out of ingredients. I tried to order a margarita with Patron but they were out of Patron. The bar tender tried to sell me Casa Amigos for $16.00. Nothing is included chips, Salsa, guacamole, nothing. An $85 lunch should at least taste good, this was not even average. Unfortunately, this restaurant has very few redeeming qualities. In general, the food was flavourless and underwhelming. I had the chicken tacos and they were especially bland. I substituted the rice and beans for side salad. I had the "mango" vinaigrette as my dressing. I'm not sure what it was, but it was gelatinous and egregiously sweet. Horrible. But honestly, the rice and bean side didn't look too much better. The food was pricey given the quality and quantity we received. Yikes . Our server was nice and the location is great as it's in the middle of town. Good Mexican food is typically a wonderful combination of flavors. What I was served at this restaurant was neither good, Mexican, food, or flavorful. Initially, my meal started off with an order of $9 chips and salsa. One may think that such an outrageous price for this would mean that they taste good, yet, such thinking is incorrect. The salsa is the most bland Restaurant wholesale salsa that has ever been created. After quickly finishing the small bowl of chips we were served, I requested additional chips and salsa for my companion and I. I was promptly told that chips are free but the salsa would result in a FEE. THEY CHARGE THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR SALSA REFILLS WHEN THEY PROBABLY PAY .10 CENTS AN OZ FROM A RESTAURANT WHOLESALER. Following this, I was served the most bland,  scant, overpriced, and overall horrid "chorizo" tacos I have ever eaten in my life. As you can see in the pictures below, the meat served in the tacos is not chorizo. I don't know what it is, but it is not chorizo and the chef must have decided that 1 tablespoon of this mystery meat mixture they call "chorizo" is adequate to the fill the tacos. These sorry excuse for tacos were served next to a pile of what tasted like raw rice and expired canned black beans. Any potential customer who is reading this review and considering visiting Raul's......DON'T!!! I paid $30 dollars for chips and salsa, 2 tacos, and old rice and beans. The only thing Raul's will leave you with is a sense of wondering why you just spent your hard earned money at a this sorry excuse for a restaurant . Taco Bell is more authentic, taste better, has has more respect for serving good tasting food to customers. read more

We sat outside with the propane heaters. Affordable. Fresh. Great service. White sangria and the beer-Rita were both yummy. The chips and 3 dips were fresh fresh fresh. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon . The bar had many patrons, sports on the television, and an upbeat vibe. The server sat us at a four top directly in the front window so we were able to people watch. Two of the ladies ordered a special Pear Margarita and myself a Coconut Margarita. The margarita's are served in mason jars and all three were sour sweet and delicious. The house made chips were salty and fresh and the salsa and guacamole sides very flavorful. My entree was Oaxacan tacos served with a side of rice and black beans. The three portion taco was a steal for $15. I really enjoyed the char marks and texture of the tortillas ,as if they were warmed on a grill. The total order of three margaritas, chips, two salsa, two guacamole and three taco entrees totaled $63! A complete bargain for the quality of the beverages and food. read more

I love supporting local businesses. I don't like having to be honest about a not so great experience at a local business. I was torn between 2 and 3 stars....the best parts of the meal were the margaritas and the server (she was really nice and clearly works her butt off). I visited Raul's prior to the renovation and this was my first visit since. As mentioned, service was friendly...with a brief exception with the hostess that seated us...will explain later. The margaritas are served rocks only and are very strong and flavorful. The guacamole was decent as well. Other than that, the food was a bit south of mediocre. We had the appetizer portion of chips, salsa and guacamole ($13), chicken tacos and the "earth" (vegetarian) burrito. First - the $13 price tag for chips and salsa took me by surprise. I don't usually complain about prices, but I've never been to a tex-mex or mexican restaurant that didn't just bring chips and salsa to the table. Guacamole always has a price tag and that's usually worth it. Chips are on the thick side and had clumps of salt on a few pieces...and some of the chips in the middle were soft and soggy. Salsa was OK - very mild. Here's the positive - it's a very large portion of chips. The chicken pieces in the tacos were extremely dry. The earth burrito was pretty much all black beans (I did find a slice of avocado in there)...but the balance of ingredients was off. The rice and sour cream sides were very small. So the weird and briefly negative experience with the person that seated us, you ask? We were seated at a high-top near the bar area but both of us are currently nursing sports (knee) injuries and have trouble with high barstools. When I asked to sit at a regular table, the initially friendly demeanor of the hostess switched to extraordinarily annoyed and disgusted on a dime. I ALMOST walked out based on that initial interaction. It might be helpful to ask customers if a high top table is OK....and I'm sorry if my request inconvenienced anyone. This same person actually delivered our main courses and was suddenly smiley and friendly. Not sure what that was all about, but having personal experience in the food service industry (as a waitress) and co-running a bakery, I know that consistent attitude matters. They offer four options My son reported his steak taco was cooked to perfection! The veggies looked and tasted very fresh. My quesadilla was yummy and the wrap had a slight crisp to the edge, delicious! I have been here previously and found it to be very loud on this evening only one or two other table when we arrived. They do not accept reservations unless you are a party of 6 or more. If you're looking for a healthy sit-down meal in Glens Falls, look no farther than Raul's Mexican Grill. My family and I have been frequenting Raul's for years, and it's definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area. You won't find many gut-busting dishes here, but their entire menu is very fresh and flavorful. I'm a huge fan of their Oaxacan tacos, which comes with an amazing mole sauce. Their tortillas (get the soft flour over the hard) are also fantastic. I've also had several of their salads, all of which are delicious as well. Their homemade mango vinaigrette is one of my favorite dressings of all time. Their guac is also delicious and comes with a hefty portion of tortilla chips. Portions can be a little small for the price, but then again, I don't mind paying a little extra for freshness and flavor. They also have lunch specials if you stop on a weekday! read more

Stopped in for nachos, fresh salsa, and guacamole at the bar. Great portions, fresh fried chips, over 2 cups of deliciously prepared salsa, and another 2 cups of guacamole. Premium margaritas on the rocks were prepared perfectly. Serve was prompt and friendly, place had a nice sized crowd, clean restroom. Good music and atmosphere fit both families or adults. Spending 4 nights in Glens Falls area looked up on yelp and found Raul's highly rated so tried it out... It was a Sunday night walked right in and sat down... Family ordered salsa and chips to start off with beers and a pitcher of sangria. Salsa was quite loose but tasty. I ordered Chicken Quesadilla @ 9.75 grilled chicken with cheddar cheese, onion & chilies really good... My family had Beef Brisket Burrito $12.50 and Chicken Burrito $12. We all really enjoyed our meals and plan on coming back next summer. read more

I'm glad Rauls is still open during this time! I love their unique spin on Mexican dishes. I had family dinner and got the carne asada burrito per the recommendation of my waitress. It did not disappoint! The flavor was so good! It was one of the best tasting burritos I have ever had! Their fresh salsa has great flavor and their fresh made chips are crispy and salty to perfection. I've had the bbq tacos before and those taste excellent as well. I like looking at the specials too because I had Reuben tacos there once and those were delicious! I've always had great experiences at Rauls, always great tasting food, and great service. The prices are great as well! Overall the value is excellent! I would go back and try more items in the menu for sure. I would also recommend to anyone who is looking for a casual place for dinner friends or family and wanting something that is quality and a unique taste! read more

1st time in town last night my daughter and son in law and my self went to this place. Thinking it was good but it wasn't. The presentation was ok. The flavor was non existent. Salsa was too sweet my food was supposed to have a mole sauce on it and it sucked. South Georgia hands down has the best Mexican food. Very good vegan mexican meal that isn't just your traditional veggies and beans and rice! Ended up ordering the Portobello Burrito with Portobello mushrooms, cheddar cheese, zucchini, yellow squash, green & red bell peppers, caramelized onion, topped with mole poblano sauce (vegan mole sauce, btw). Came with a small side of beans and rice. Everything was seasoned very well! The chips and salsa before the meal were great as well. Wishing I had ordered guac too, but hopefully next time! Some coworkers and I grabbed lunch here in the middle of the week. There were only five of us, but we still couldn't sit together comfortably at a table. It worked, but the space is smaller, so if you have more than four, maybe go elsewhere. Our server was very nice. Our drink order was taken fairly quickly. The alcoholic drinks came quickly, but the other drinks took a bit. And then we just didn't see our server again for about 30 minutes. It wasn't really busy, but I think she was the ONLY server. During lunch. Most tables were empty, just one or two people at the bar, but you can't be everywhere and it's not like we saw here just hanging out. Eventually our server said that there was a "big party" in the next room and that's why everything was taking so long, but someone I was with said they saw that party come in after us and it was only six people, so that didn't really make sense. Once our order was taken, it took a long-normal amount of time to get our food. But by the time it came, we had been there for at least an hour. When I think "weekday lunch," that's not the time frame I imagine. That being said, everyone was satisfied with their food. One person had the swordfish special and said it was excellent. Everyone else was pleased, as far as I could tell, although one person in my party didn't like that their rice and beans are mixed together and commented on the basic quality of the rice. I just got a quesadilla. It was okay. Kind of expensive for a quesadilla only (no sides come with it), and not as cheesy as I'd expect when I think "quesadilla," but I was hungry and it was fine. In general, it was okay. But the prices weren't great, especially considering you you don't even get chips and salsa to start, and everything just took so dang long.
