Guac, salsa and chips. Very small portion for the appetizer
    Meagan D.

Wanted this to be better a spot than it was. We were able to sit as soon as we walked in and the drinks were decent (margaritas were a little watered down), the main course was very good flavor (delicious tacos and quesadillas), but the chips, guacamole and salsa was very disappointing. For the price you only got about 2 tablespoons of guac. The salsa (maybe 2 tablespoons as well) was not tasty at all. We actually didn't eat it after trying it and they charged us an extra $2 for it. We also got charged $2 for a tablespoon of sour cream as well, but the waitress swapped out the sauce that normally came with the tacos for the up charged sour cream. With that system they shouldn't up charged. The rice was also over cooked, but half the table liked it that way, the other half didnt. Bus boy was very friendly and helpful. The indoor space was decorated well and clean.

(This restaurant does not take reservations) I must say, the staff at this restaurant were amazing. However, there are some major areas where improvement need to be made. Firstly, it would have been even better if they offered complimentary chips and salsa to kickstart the meal (every great Mexican restaurant I have gone to does this). Secondly, I felt that the prices were extremely high compared to the overall food quality. Moreover, the drinks seemed a bit lacking in alcohol content, which might be something to consider for those looking for a good cocktails. These setbacks unfortunately are the reason for this rating. If significant adjustments are made, this restaurant could truly shine and become a favorite among diners.

Omg! This is the light Bolton has needed! Nice, lively, full bar, incredible Mexican. Great music to capture the vibe of the night and super friendly and young staff! Every detail was well thought out and they capture an authentic and colorful theme. They work hard to please and we had a great time and great food!!! Yummy delicious and a fun time!!!

It's a far cry from authentic-- their "carne asada" tacos are actually barbacoa. Lol. But for a small town Mexican joint, the food ticks all of the boxes. Our service was good and the food came out quickly. Though we didn't come during peak hours, which may or may not have had an impact on our service. Overall, the food was good. The quesadilla was our favorite and we'd order that again for sure. The "carne asada" tacos were just so-so; a bit too sweet for my taste. The guacamole was sour and off putting. Definitely not worth the up-charge. But the Cantina sauce was pretty tasty. The frozen mango margarita was fantastic! Overall, it's a good option for families in Bolton Landing. Everything is pricey in town, but their prices aren't as outrageous as some other spots in town.

Our table & the restaurant atmosphere. (Faces of the other diners covered out of respect)

If you want a solid meal and are craving Tex-Mex (non-authentic Mexican food), Cantina 32 does a good job at providing yummy food with great service. There's not really many other Mexican restaurants in the immediate area. I stopped in with 2 friends after it started pouring rain last week and we really enjoyed our meal. The tacos I got were yummy and the beans & rice were well prepared. The nachos were okay but I wasn't expecting the best nachos in the world. Our waitress was attentive and she was funny, cracking jokes about the rain. We loved her! And the restaurant itself is nice, with red lighting and a child-friendly vibe and a few outdoor tables. Pricing was slightly high but was reasonable enough for the pricy area. Overall, a good experience & I'd definitely come back! Would recommend for sure.

    Chicken tacos and margaritas!

I'm picky, and I actually liked the food. The food was great and the margaritas were awesome! Thank you!

But, thanks to Yelp, the business website listing their ingredients clearly, and the very helpful staff, I determined that Paloma would be a good spot to grab some food. The shop is surrounded by local touristy shops, plus the information center is across the street. The interior space is large enough to accommodate a few dozen customers, with some window seats that look out onto the main road, with beautiful views of the mountains. The first visit for me, I enjoyed one chicken and one beef taco served on homemade tortillas. The flavors for both of these proteins is absolutely some of the best I've ever had in any state. Who would've thought that I'd be eating some of the best tacos in upstate NY? Hibiscus tea is also refreshing, mild sweetness and a must try if you pop in here. Oh, did I mention that the food was ready within a few minutes? It disappears just as fast as they put it on the plate. My second visit I tried the tostada with the beef, and it was just as good as the taco, but if you prefer a crunch, the tostada was delicious and held up well. Day 3 in a row - yeah, it's that good - I had to stay with the tacos again. The fam enjoyed other items from the menu such as their burrito bowl, burrito, guac and quesadilla. Everyone left here super happy. Rarely does a place get me to come back 3 days in a row, but Taqueria Paloma deserves it. If I lived in or near Lake George, I would probably just invest in this place because they're not only putting out a great product, it's clean, beautiful and the staff are on point. 10 stars if I could.

They were absolutely to die for, the meat was juicy and tender and the toppings are on point. When I think of a taco, I think of these. The restaurant was so clean, minimal, and service was not slow with how busy they were! (And to be quite frank, if there was a longer wait, I'd be willing to sit and be patient because these were absolutely delicious!) If you're looking for a Taco Bell type soft taco, you might want to sit this one out. These tacos are true street tacos like you'd have in California or down south where taco trucks are rampant. This was one of my favorite cozy spots we visited in Lake George & we will definitely be back. Thank you for the delicious food and for being such a beautiful, vibrant restaurant!

The location was ideal - right on the water and near so many cute shops in town. We were a little early for our reservation, so we explored the back for a bit (our reservation was inside). We enjoyed the picturesque landscape and beautiful lights illuminating the yard - this would be a lovely spot for a party or even a small wedding. Inside was also lovely with quaint decor; I particularly loved the simple seasonal hydrangeas on the table. There was a little confusion with our reservation at first, but after sorting that out, we were seated at a comfortable table for our party. Not surprisingly, the menu focuses on seafood and fresh ingredients. We started with the graham cracker encrusted calamari, which was a unique take on a classic dish that worked well! Very crunchy and refreshing. For my entree, I went with the crab-stuffed flounder, which was delightful. I enjoyed the risotto accompanying it and the fresh sauce and arugula. A filling but not stuffing meal that was high quality! Our dining partners all enjoyed their meals as well, focusing mostly on their seafood options. We split a bottle of white wine, which paired nicely with all our entrees and starters. We did not get dessert, and I did not pay for this meal, so I cannot speak to the after dinner menu or the prices. The ambience was excellent and the food was delicious and fresh, so I would definitely return on future visits to Lake George, hopefully sitting outside next time!

I had every expectation that it would the perfect setting for a quiet dinner with a lovely view, exceptional cuisine and attentive service. Unfortunately, for a restaurant of this caliber, they did not meet the mark. Let's start with the good stuff. They have a parking lot which is really appreciated in Bolton Landing, NY. We were warmly greeted at the door and wished Happy Anniversary. We were seated on the porch (our choice of tables because there was only one set of two diners in the restaurant at 6 p.m. on a Sunday night). Off to a good start. I commented about the pretty dress the hostess (at least we assumed she was) who seated us was wearing. A sweet Jamaican gal who goes by "Skinny Girl" offered water and chatted with us (we recognized her Caribbean accent and asked her which Jamaican parish she was from). She was more attentive to us during the evening than our waiter, Owen (he was clearly overwhelmed handling tables on the porch as well as on the patio outside). To his credit, Owen was honest about the crab legs and we were grateful. Service was slow, from drinks to getting the bill. What really rattled our chains is that the hostess in the pretty dress visited diners at every table on the porch - sometimes more than once - except us. We felt ignored. Our drinks were very good. The specialty of the house (a cucumber concoction) was actually the signature drink at our wedding. My husband enjoyed it. My Blood Orange Martini was delicious, albeit $18 which I thought was more like NYC prices. Appetizers were good. I ordered the Escargot which was served on puff pastry with a light cream sauce. Delicious. My husband's Grilled Clams did not look to be grilled at all, and swimming in what appeared to be the same cream sauce as my Escargot which, because he is lactose intolerant, was a concern. My husband's Chef's Choice steak was strip steak, cooked rare as requested, and served over truffle mashed potatoes with asparagus spears on the side. While pricey st $65, he was pleased. I ordered the venison, rare ($41). What was served to me were 2-1/2 small medallions of which two were rare and one was seriously well done (could not eat it). Spinach was on the side. I would have loved some of the yummy truffle mashed potatoes that accompanied my husband's steak. Again, with no one paying attention to us, by the time our waiter came to check on our food, my husband was already finished with his meal. So Owen's offer to return my overcooked venison to the kitchen was not an option. I packed my dinner to go. We asked for an order of churros to share and two coffees (the espresso machine apparently wasn't working). The coffee was old and barely lukewarm. We asked for replacements. One would think that the kitchen staff would try to make up for their two errors and at least provide us with fresh replacements. Nope. They probably microwaved the first two cups. I did not drink mine. This restaurant claims to be rated among the top 100 in the country. We certainly expected better service and care worthy of their New York City prices. I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 40 years and would never disrespect customers like that, especially when they chose my restaurant for a special occasion. So yes, I was disappointed. Would we give Chateau on the Lake another chance? We have so many wonderful choices in Saratoga and Albany (which would have been the same distance). Maybe.
