An unexpected gem in the Ralph's center. We didn't know what to expect. The reviews were good but it's a relatively new and small spot. When we saw that the dining room was packed with people of Indian descent, were figured that's a good sign. Service was excellent! They were happy to help us determine what we're likely to enjoy the most based on a brief discussion. And they were right! Very friendly and informative, and checked on us to be sure everything was going well. We started with garlic shrimp (fantastic and very different!) And then had Goat saag and chicken Biriyani. Food was wonderful and there's lots more on the menu we want to explore. We were looking forward to leftovers the next day, but unexpected visitors ate it all with gusto. I stopped by for a solo lunch on a weekday, and the place was pretty quiet for a Monday afternoon. I ordered the curry platter lunch special with the paneer butter masala, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion size was surprisingly generous. It came with rice and four small pieces of naan, and there was so much food that I couldn't finish it all, which meant I got to enjoy the leftovers later at home. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff was incredibly friendly and checked in on me several times to make sure I had everything I needed. We had a wonderful get-together at Rasam Restaurant today. As I mentioned last year, Rasam continues to be one of the best places for authentic Kerala-style cuisine. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious. The Malabar Mutton Biriyani was, as always, top-notch. The Mutton Pepper Fry was outstanding and left me speechless. The Parotta and Beef Fry were perfectly done and incredibly flavorful. The Kerala-style Fish Curry paired with Appam was another highlight of the meal. To top it all off, the Soda Lime and Mango Lassi were refreshing and complemented the food perfectly. Some of the best Indian food I've had! Nothing was overly greasy or heavy. Everything was seasoned so well. We particularly liked the chef special butter chicken biryani and the yogurt sauce that comes with it. The naans are so fluffy. Service was spot on and if you have any questions they're very helpful. Restaurant was super clean and nice inside but I do wish there was music playing. Definitely will return, especially for that butter chicken biryani! Rasam may be the new kid on the block, opening a month ago (in November 2025), but you must go over and introduce yourself. There is a friendly bunch of people eagerly waiting to serve you some of the most extraordinary, authentic Indian food I've had in a very long time. This is a true Corona gem. This small restaurant is located in the same shopping mall as Ralph's, in the Sierra del Oro neighborhood. The interior is charming, adorned with sparkling chandeliers and an entire wall covered in moss and large leafy plants. They have both table and booth seating so they can easily adapt to small or large groups. Lots of parking. My eyes got bigger and bigger as I read the list of foods on their impressive, 6 page menu. Many dishes I had never heard of before but each sounded very interesting and mouthwatering. Hard to choose! There is a wide variety that will please both vegetarian and carnivore. You will find Fish, chicken, lamb, goat, and egg entrees, and a very interesting section devoted only to dosas. We finally managed to narrow our first meal choices down to two appetizers and two entrees. Gobi Manchurian appetizer. Delicious! This is battered, fried cauliflower bites tossed in a sauce that is quite similar to a delicate sweet & sour. There were coarse chunks of garlic throughout but it was not a pervasive flavor. I could have easily quit right there and claimed the entire plate for myself, it was that good. It was a very generous serving. Samosa (3). Each was large in size, with delicious spices in the vegetable filling. The pastry was tender but crispy. This came with two dipping sauces, tart tamarind and a creamy mint. Really good. Chicken Hariyali Kabob. This kabob is an extremely generous serving of tender, juicy, boneless thigh meat that has been marinated in a coriander mint marinade. This came dramatically presented on a sizzling hot, iron platter that created a delicious char on the meat. The flavors were wonderful. I believe the server said it was the equivalent of 2 chicken quarters? Don't quote me on that, but it was a lot of meat. The Lamb Biriyani is a golden saffron rice dish combined with chunks of tender, slow cooked lamb. The spices were spot on. It was beautifully presented in a large bowl covered by a single, puffy, plain naan and came paired with two small cups of tart yogurt raitia and an amazing, obviously house made orange peel (?) chutney. The chutney was quite special. They had just finished making a fresh batch of mango lassi. Mr. B, of course, had to try it. Like everything else, it was excellent with just the right balance of ingredients so it was fruity but not overly sweet. Well done! For having been open for just one month, things were run very smoothly. The beautifully plated food came out very quickly and was very delicious. Their unapologetic yet enthusiastic use of exotic Indian spices made for a exciting meal, full of complex blends of flavors but willing to hold back on the spicy-hot element when asked. I'm happy to announce there was plenty to bring home for another day. The prices were very reasonable. There is really no Indian restaurant that compares to Rasam in our region. I'm giving them ten thumbs up and giving you a big nudge to see for yourself. read more

We dined in at Rasam and really enjoyed the food and the ambience. The food was flavorful and satisfying, and while it is on the pricier side, we were okay with that since the taste delivered. We went as a party of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids under 3). The only downside during our dine-in experience was the service. The wait staff was a bit slow with basic things like getting us water and a high chair. Since it was their first week of operation, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. I've been craving a good Malayali restaurant in the area for a long time, so I was excited to have Rasam nearby. However, the issue came during our takeout order on a different day. When my husband picked up the food and we got home, we realized two items were missing. We immediately called the restaurant, and the person who answered offered either a refund or home delivery. Since we had guests at home, we chose delivery. Unfortunately, the food never arrived--and neither did the refund initially. The restaurant had both our phone numbers and our home address, so communication shouldn't have been an issue. When we followed up later that night, we were told they had tried calling us, but neither of us received any calls. This was disappointing, especially since the food had already been paid for. Although we eventually did receive the refund, the situation left a bad taste. The lack of clear communication and accountability has made us hesitant to return or order again. The food has a lot of potential, but I hope the team works on customer service, communication, and owning up to mistakes, as that really makes a difference in the overall experience read more

Came here during their soft opening. Came again yesterday for a get together/celebration. Got myself my favorite, plain uttapam, and it was simply good. Something about eating a simple and satisfying meal that is accompanied by coconut chutneys that has great flavors. The sambar that accompanied the uttapam was juat as wonderful. If you want a more robust tasting meal, try the appam and chicken curry. My husband enjoyed it. We need to find another excuse to visit again. Good place, good service, great food. read more

Just to be clear, and I think I will start all my reviews with this disclaimer moving forward. For me, to get a 5 star rating you have to blow my socks off. Imagine my surprise when I arrived and discovered the Mediterranean place had been replaced with Rasam, an Indian cuisine restaurant. Well, I was here so why not. Walking in the staff was friendly and the restaurant appeared to be extra clean. I ordered the Garlic Naan and Lamb Kadai. Both had great flavor and a nice sized portion. And the price always fair. Why the 4 rating. As I said on my disclaimer, that's a top notch rating for me. I'll explain. The food was yummy and the service was great. The lamb was good for the most part. Most of the meat was tender and had some nice fat, not overwhelming, which I love. A couple of the pieces were a little chewy. Not enough to ruin the dish, but still there. Over all I would order this dish again as it was good. It was the couple of chewy pieces that make it a 4. Also, the restroom was extremely clean. Wow, a South Indian spot that's not Hyderabadi or Chennai, but Kerala?! The Malabar dum biryani and lemon pickle seriously made me feel like I was back in Kerala, India. Thank you so much! Wow, what an amazing restaurant!! I love Indian food and have been a bit bummed out by some other spots in the area, but I am sure to come back to Rasam. There chutneys were the only item that I liked. We tried their dosa - they were too dry, something critical missing. Kerala prantha, the masala tasted raw, need to refine this dish. Paneer - tasted heavily of ketchup, redo of recipe needed Cheese dosa again don't have anything to say. Uttapam - we had garlic/onion, the garlic was overpowering, possibly because it's not freshly cut. We had heard lots of great reviews, that's the only reason we went to try it, we won't be returning unless there's a great overhaul of cooking. Excellent food and incredible Kerala food! We had chicken cutlets, kappa and fish curry, mutton Malabar biryani! Everything tasted homemade and not greasy! We also had their chana masala, malai kofta, paneer tikka , dosa, vada and gobi manchurian and they were all delicious! Uttappam was the only item we won't reorder, coz it felt like some salad mix was dumped into it, there's never lettuce in a uttapam and it wasn't the best combination. Double ka meetha, flan (Indian style) , south Indian coffee and mango lassi were yum. The owner was kind and friendly, all the servers were timely and attentive. We went out for lunch when we heard about this restaurant through our WhatsApp group. My wife ordered the onion uttapam, Dahi papdi chaat, & my son & I ordered Malabar chicken biryani & tawa fish fry. The biryani & the tawa fish fry were good but the bad rating is due to the food poisoning that my wife suffered from. She did point it out to the chef that the uttapam was not good. She felt the batter wasn't fermented enough and felt it tasted odd. But once we reached home, my wife threw up due to food poisoning. A very bad experience overall. Excellent experience and great customer service. The best malabar mutton biryani in the area which took us straight into malabar vibes. The Kerala porotta with the fish curry mulagitathu was fantastic. The paal kappa fish curry was excellent too. Padayappa coconut fry(Ssshh....) though not in the menu was so authentic with the fat cuts. Need to bring in alcohol options too to go with the Kerala vibe. The owners were very pleasant and attentive to our large group of 17 even though it was a busy evening. They have weekend specials and this weekend it was kozhipidi. Amazing Lunch Experience! We stopped by at RASAM for lunch and honestly had such a great time! The food was super tasty. We loved the Papdi Chaat and Dahi Sev Puri- both were full of flavors. The Unnakaya was a nice surprise too and the Chili Paneer and Chicken 65 was spot on. The kerala Parotta with Chicken Curry was really good and paired perfectly. I have never really tried Indian food before coming here and now I'm hooked. I almost always get butter chicken and rice, but the other food is amazing as well. The restaurant itself is always in great shape, clean and organized. The customer service is amazing as well, I never caught the gentleman's name that's always cleaning, but he's always very friendly. Since the food is amazing, the value for what you're paying for would probably diminish in most cases, but that's just not true here. It's about $20 for the butter chicken I mentioned before, but when they hand you the bag, it feels like you're holding a meal for a family of 3. Absolutely phenomenal South Indian food. Every single dish was bursting with flavor--we literally finished everything because it was that good. The Kerala-style biryani was fragrant and perfectly spiced, not heavy or greasy. The Rasoli kabab was tender and flavorful, and the tawa fish had a beautiful balance of spice and crispness without overpowering the fish itself. The Mysore masala dosa was spot on--crispy, spicy, and paired perfectly with the chutneys and sambar. And can we talk about the lime mint drink? So refreshing and perfectly balanced--it tied the whole meal together. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food here. Authentic flavors, great execution, and a meal we're still thinking about. The two stars are for the first two visits at the restaurant. The first time was back in November when they just started, the owners were around. That time the service and food were both good. The second time around, the vadas were super oily and the service was mediocre. However, my third visit today was a bad experience. We had a large party and order a variety of items. I am vegan so specially requested for a vegan plain dosa and also made sure to check if the sides that came with the dosa were vegan. We had two plain dosa orders for our table, one was vegan and the other was the standard version. The server messed up badly and specifically gave me the non vegan dosa. I am severely lactose intolerant and cannot take dairy in any form, which is why I always triple check with restaurants to make sure I get vegan (not vegetarian) food. The server gave me the standard dosa and gave the other person on the table the vegan dosa. I got super sick just after eating the dosa- sick in my stomach, nauseous, throwing up etc. all the symptoms that happen to me when I eat dairy because I'm severely lactose intolerant. I figured the dosas must've been switched by the server (which is why I got so sick shortly after eating) because the standard plain dosa came really late and mine came early. They clearly don't understand the difference between vegan and vegetarian items. The server said everything with a "V" on the menu is "vegan" but they have a "V" next to a "Paneer" item, which is cheese/dairy based. This is clearly incorrect food classification and a lack of understanding of basic food allergens. If this happened to me, it could definitely happen to anyone else who has dietary issues or allergies. Most Indian restaurants don't take food allergens and classification seriously or lack even a basic understanding of this. However, this is a serious health and safety issue. People won't complain if the food doesn't taste as good or as authentic but they definitely will if it makes them sick. Especially if a dietary condition or allergy was clearly communicated multiple times. It's a shame honestly because I really wanted to like this place! read more

This place was inviting with a fine ambiance. It was clean and well lit. The service was very good. The two servers were polite and attentive. The food was prepared as per order. We were group of seven. The paneer dhosa, the ghee masala dhosa, fish curry, skerala style chicken curry, and onion pakoras were prepared just right and were delicious. However, we encountered two issues. This is a South Indian restaurant and Idli is the leading food item in South India. But here, they were out of Idli. It is like Pizza Hut ran out of dough or super market ran out of regular milk. The second issue was chicken nuggets. The chicken nuggets were served cold and uncooked. It was raw. And, yes they were out of the famous filtered coffee of South. Well, being local for the last 40+ years and to support the local small business I will give this place a one more try. read more
