Sometimes they fix loose buttons on a coat without asking or mended a slight hole in my sweater. The owners are personable and remember your name and they communicate expectations if they believe that cleaning a stain out may take longer. I've dropped of suits, silk blouses, puffer jackets and wool coats. They all came back looking like new. The hardest things to clean are white coats though but that's a given. Chenille Cleaners had a location on 50th and 2nd and its proprietor, Gilbert is a fine, friendly person, obviously after these years, we are friends. Once the 50th Street location closed, as we loved the service we continued to use cleaning and tailoring services at the Hell's Kitchen location. The clothing alterations are on point, with qualified onsite seamstress. Out of many pants and shirts altered, there were one or two disappointments that were eventually corrected.
