Easily the best french bakery I've ever been to, and maybe the best bakery in the Fairfield / Westchester area. Friendly staff, amazing baked goods, always fresh. Efficient service, clean and professional environment. Overall, always a wonderful experience. I get my morning latte here with my wife and it never fails to impress. A chouquette is placed on the lid of your coffee gratis, and it is truly a perfect and light pairing that plays so well with the espresso. You must try every pastry you see in the window, but the Canelé and Kouign-amann are some of my favorites. The mini almond-blueberry tarts are also ridiculously good. You probably think you've had a good eclair before, but if you haven't had one from here, you have no idea. Raphael is often seen in the kitchen working on the next batch of something amazing. It's wonderful to watch while your coffee is being prepared. Try the prosciutto mozzarella sandwich, and I don't care if it's taboo, but I add cornichons and honey mustard. Something small that deserves to be recognized are the iced coffee cups. They do not leak or drip or make you worry that you'll spill anything on yourself or make a mess in your car. There's also a cute little face on the side of the cup. I wish more places would care about the customer the way they do at Raphael's. Never had a bad bite here. They even have great on and off street parking. Possibly perfect? read more

Amazing bakery with top notch food and service. I was very impressed by Raphael's when we went in on a whim today and found the baguettes, pastries and general atmosphere to be as good as it gets. Was my first time here. A friend of mine told me to check this out. I'm glad I did. They did not disappoint me. I came in late afternoon when they are about to close. Excellent, fast customer service by staff who are kind, welcoming, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the lovely pastries served. Seriously, I was struck by the cordiality and quickness of the staff on the phone and in person! You just do not get service like that almost anywhere else. The pastries are a nice selection, classic French - yet done in a unique way by the shop's own twist, and melt-in-your-mouth tasty! There is cute space for people to seat and eat in the pastry shop too, which you do not often find in many grab-and-go places. Inside, the patisserie is clean, pretty, colourful and bright, in a lovely location off Greenwich Ave. What a fun and positive experience! The only thing is that it is very expensive, even for French pastry shop at about average $8 per item in general -- that is due to the location, nature of the pastry items, and general food cost inflation today. Sadly, we won't escape from prices like that anytime soon, so just enjoy the goodness of the pastry fluffiness nevertheless! read more

These are the best croissants, brioche au sucre, palmier, meringue I have ever had. Upon entering the store you can smell the rich butter scent of fresh baked pastries. The truffles and cookies are so delicious as well. I could eat here everyday, although my thighs think I shouldn't. Loved this place! I'm a sucker for French Coffee shops. We were in Greenwich for a day trip on a very hot summer day. And I found Raphael's Bakery on Yelp. It sounded perfect for what we needed and it didn't disappoint. I'm a hot coffee girl but it was 100 degrees outside and I went with Iced coffee. It was delicious - strong but not bitter. Just perfect. And the unexpected surprise was that it was served with tiny pastry just like in France. Everything in the bakery looked fresh and appetizing. We also got freshly baked chocolate cookie for my daughter that I did not get to tI really wanted to try almond croissant but we were about to have lunch. Bread looked very good too. Also, you could tell that this is a family business. They were all very helpful and cheery behind the counter. And check out their cute cups. So I decided to go back one sunny day in Greenwich... Something about walking around with a baguette and croissant from there pushing the stroller makes me feel like I'm in France with my imagination! I received the best service from the lady there, possibly the owner...French accent.. Just all around wonderful. She made sure to give me a baguette straight out of oven. Perfect texture and flavor.. Delicious. Next time I'm bringing good butter and putting it on while it's hot.. Closest best I've found to France. The almond croissant is round and a different type than I prefer but that's okay.. The pan au chocolat was absolutely delicious. Worth a visit! I went from being treated like a piece of dirt down the street at the Apple store, to being treated like gold by the workers here. Friendly owners and employees. They don't get flustered no matter how hectic the scene. I have had many many baguettes and they are always tops. No bread bakery can match their quality and consistency. Other breads tasty as well. Cookies are unbelievable. I would like a few more gluten free options. His wife Charlotte and sons are all so friendly, and supportive of their husband and dad who I believe years ago was previously the pastry chef at Valbella. I don't know how they put out so many incredible options in such a small space- but nothing is compromised. On Mother's Day, the line was around the block! The options are all delicious and range from fantastic breads, pastries, brownies, cookies, cakes and croissants to the best quiche. I live for the St. Honore cake. Every single bite is amazing , from warm delicious baguettes to the Napoleon's cake . French chouquettes were a great surprise , they are a rare find. Loved eclair au chocolat. We go every weekend and can't get enough of it. We used to buy 2 baguettes at a time thinking they would last for 2 days, they hardly lasted more than 2 hours. Now we'll be buying 3 :) Galette des Rois is incredible, pink meringue melts in your mouth. Charlotte and Raphael who run the place are very welcoming and friendly. I bought chocolate croissants, brioche rolls, Tarte aux Pommes/apple puff pastry, Chouquettes, a slice of the chocolate mousse cake, and a latte.
