My A/C started blowing 82 degree air and I turned it off. This was on a Friday evening. Saturday…read moremorning I called and spoke to Angela who arraigned for a tech to come out. Parker evaluated the cause (slow leaking evaporator coil) but he wanted to be sure the rest of the system maintained integrity by performing a pressure leak test which he did a few days later. He charged the system back up, enough to get me to the pressure test. Confirming the problem, he passed me over to Hope who provided a solution and explained in detail what needed to be done, what it would cost, and how long it would take. This was on a Friday afternoon. She was able to coordinate the required new equipment, materials and schedule their construction team for the following Monday morning. Everything was in place that morning and needless to say, they knew what to do and how to do it. They jumped on it, and never stopped. No breaks, no lunch and were finished by 2:00 PM. This was a major project, having to demo and rebuild the supply plenum, remove and replace the coil section of the furnace, install a new drain pan and drains, etc. As fate would have it, my thermostat had failed and that caused a delay getting the system to start. Richard, another airWoodlands tech came out and discovered the problem quickly and provided me with a new thermostat. From Angela, to Parker, to Hope, to Cossa, and to Richard, I could not have asked for a better team from any one, anywhere. Customer service in general has failed in America, but this group is an exception. I will never have to search for an a/c contractor. Air Woodlands is the best. (A special call out to Parker. I really appreciate James for showing up the same day that I reached out for help on Yelp. He responded within minutes and came by my house after his doctor appointment. I already knew what was the issue with the AC as the previous AC company who works only for home warranty companies, came out 3 times and only did a band-aid job that lasted only 2 weeks. I knew it was out of freon because the AC was leaking freon. James was able to schedule for an early morning appointment to repair the leak the following day. He put in more freon in the meantime so my house will have air conditioning until they can repair it. The next morning, Chris and his crew showed up as promised, first thing in the morning and fixed the leak. I will definitely use Richmond's Air again in the future, but for now, hopefully this leak repair will last me for a few years before having to call for service again. Hopefully my next call to Richmond's Air will be a yearly maintenance type of deal and not to fix a leak! I definitely recommend this company. As a PSA, please, please, please STAY AWAY from home warranty service companies! If you must purchase one, stay away from Fidelity National. I won't mention the name of the HVAC company Fidelity National sent to fix my AC and then denied my claim and I had to pay over $1300 out of pocket for a band-aid fix that lasted only 2 weeks!

Ranger A/C is family owned and they have family values. They care about their customers, and it shows! They're honest in their work and transparent about what they are doing, which I appreciate as a woman that gets talked down to. They explain everything in terms you can understand. Their prices are fair and they stand behind their work. None of us want to pay more than we have to, so I understand they need to stay in business, but I'm thankful for their maintenance program and discounts. We like that they are Veteran owned and an active part of the community, involved with the Chamber, local sponsorship affiliations, Meals on Wheels, etc., because we feel like they know and understand us. Unlike some big companies out of Houston that have different techs every week and feel like it's a pain to drive to Montgomery County. As a homeowner, I've had many contractors never call me back, show up to give a quote or even finish a job I already paid for. We've all been burned and that's why finding a contractor you can trust and refer to your family and friends is so important! After doing…read moresome troubleshooting Saturday morning to see if it's a simple fix, I was unable to get it back working so I decided to give them a call. They did a service call later that day which revealed that the board on my furnace was bad and needed to be replaced. They put in a temporary fix which allowed one of my 2 thermostats to directly control the AC for the entire house until then. Monday roll around, they came out and replaced the board which took a few hours. After being told it was done, there was still no air coming out of the vents. I communicated my problem and the next day, the owner had another tech out investigating my issue which revealed a slightly different issue than what it was originally believed to be. They got it figured out and got my AC working. They also came back the following day just to further troubleshoot and make sure they had the issue fully resolved, then also fully explained to me what was the issue and the steps they took to resolve it. I felt like they took the effort to make sure my issue was resolved properly. I stand by any business that values customer service. I recommend these guys!

Now, I have a system that will wear out prematurely and does a terrible job at maintaining a comfortable home. When I asked them to give me a reasonable accomodation on pricing for a replacement system they did not bother to do that, but they did offer to sell me a whole home dehumidifier to reduce the high humidity levels in my house caused by the wrong sized system they installed. I was a senior senior citizen when they sold me the oversized system. I am told that the AG's office in Austin would be very interested, but I do not want to cause them that kind of problem. So. I am just stuck it seems. Be careful. They will sell you what you ask for whether it is technically correct for your home or not. Service requested: They gave me what I asked for. Quality: I got the Amana brand. Value: Wrong system for my home. Where's the value in that ?
