Shoot Point Blank has been a great mixture of safe, price friendly in terms of range time with their frequent deals, and extremely helpful due to their knowledgeable and personable staff. The past visits I've paid to this range have been nothing short of excellent and memorable with the good conversations I've had with the staff and the good environment it provides for people to shoot responsibly. read more

With range choices already limited to those in Cincinnati it was very refreshing to see another public range open up. I think that if you could describe this entire review it would be the principles of supply and demand at work. Meaning that the demand is so high, their motivation to please is extremely low. The range is in a nice area of town and easy enough to get to however there are hardly enough parking spots to have 20 ranges, classrooms, a gun store, and people waiting to shoot in their small lot. This wouldn't be an issue if it was somewhere else but given its location there are not a wide range of places to even walk from. Upon parking and walking into the store the first thing that hit me is how much open space they had on their shelves and how many guns were actually in boxes behind the counter, this struck me as odd. To me this means that their selection is low but that their stock is still high. But I wasn't in the market to buy guns, just shoot mine. After taking two steps I was confronted with a huge line and asked the guy in front of me if this was the line for the range and got a "yup" after standing there for about 20 minutes a small girl came up and yelled "take a number and we will call you" which was a nice idea however the fact that you could barely hear them call the numbers made it so everyone had to crowd the counter anyways. They were calling about one number every 10 minutes and then it hit me, since most people were new they were required to watch their safety video and rather then have groups of people doing it at once they are doing it one at a time. Well my uncle and I decided just to go watch it with the current group and sign the sheets so we wouldn't have to delay everyone else and a few others agreed and followed suit. This made the girl mad, but she let us do it as long as we held onto our papers while we were waiting. My favorite part of the safety video is how you are supposed to hold onto (ie. "ride") the slide forward.... For those of you that don't know guns this is terrible for the gun. After watching the video my uncle finally returned and let me know that there were in fact 10 open ranges and that the reason we were waiting so long is because they only had one cash register open and one girl who obviously didn't know what she was doing. For example when we finally got up I asked for 40 S&W and was handed 9mm. So with that in mind the range was clean but if I was them I would open up another cash register and hire some people that know guns! Its crazy to let paying be your bottleneck as a business! read more

Used Point Blank for a fundraiser/gun giveaway for a non profit. Bought 9 guns total from them. The process for buying the guns changed throughout the deal, getting worse and worse for the non profit I was trying to help. The staff (entry level) seemed fine, management was HORRIBLE!!! Unresponsive and dismissive. I have the emails... I realize I only spent 3 to 4 thousand dollars there but I expected much better responses and solutions than management offered. Even wrote the president a letter....No response. I will be using another gun store in the future. Truly sad since they pride themselves on 'customer service'. I hate posting a negative review. I always try to have a company solve it before it gets this far. They obviously do not care... read more

I haven't been to many shooting range/shops, in fact, just two. But this one is far superior to the other one I visited. My roommate and I went with the intention of learning a little more about guns so that we can be well educated enough to buy some in the future. The staff was extremely friendly!! It took a while to talk to someone because they were a little busy, but we eventually got some information. They were especially helpful to us as beginners. We told them we really had no clue, and they said trying out guns at the range was the best option. The Range Marshal Dude (or whatever he was called - can you tell I'm still a newbie?) was extremely friendly and helpful. I have not been to a range in a long time due to the last experience (different place) where the marshal seemed extremely annoyed with our ignorance on the shooting subject. However this guy said he would fully show us how to shoot & handle the weapon, and made suggestions on what guns to try out. One thing thought - they said there were marshals on the range available at all times - there wasn't any physical person in there, so I guess they meant they were available so long as you walked off the range. Over all - great experience. I'll be visiting the place again soon, and I'm sure to give them five stars if they show consistency in their friendliness and helpfulness. read more

Too busy and not enough lanes. Very clean but pricey and their membership used to be a good deal but they have changed to an expensive membership that doesn't make sense unless you shoot a lot and every week. They do keep good stock of ammo. read more

Ladies nights are awesome at Point Blank Range. As a writer, I had been wanting to shoot guns for awhile, so I could write more believably if I were to ever have a shooting scene in my work. And then one of my best friends came up with a brilliant idea she calls "Violins and Violence." As a really good shot and gun fan, she was the perfect person to take me out for my first target experience. And honestly, Point Blank is the perfect place for a newbie (and her friend who is actually quite knowledgable about firearms). "Five dollars ladies nights on Tuesdays," she said, "for half an hour lane time." After we shoot guns, we go back to her house and practice our violins, so after she'd taught me more about firing weapons, I teach her what I know from my years of orchestral experience. The first time we went, I definitely got a lot of good advice from both my friend and the staff at Point Blank. I was terrified to fire the gun for the first time, and they helped set my nerves and mind at ease with all their safety tips. I look forward to going back next time, as one of the staff members recommended a different type of hand gun to us for our return visit. read more

I have been in Point Blank multiple times now, and each time has been great. Every time I have been in the staff have been helpful and very knowledgeable. This place is extremely clean and well maintained. Yes, it is a little more expensive than that other place down the road, but you really get what you pay for. I, for one, would much rather shoot at a place that is well maintained, well equipped and well staffed than one that in my sole opinion is just mediocre. Point Blank has both rifle and pistol ranges here. The weekend we went, we waited as there were 5 of us and we needed 2 rifle lanes(which going into shoot - we knew there would be a wait). I am confused by some of the reviews when people commented on having to wait. Again, this is a nicer place to go to shoot, so obviously there are going to be more people shooting here and you might have a bit of a wait. We only waited like 15 minutes....wow...big deal...personally, that gave me time to shop (jackpot)....not so sure that my boyfriend thought about that since I found like 5 things I liked - and my birthday is coming up! Hint Hint!! They offer classes here, you can rent different guns and rifles to shoot, they seem to offer deals on Groupon quite a bit, and they offer Law Enforcement/Military/First Responder discounts. This is definitely my favorite indoor range. read more

The people are very friendly, essentially Mac and they always go above and beyond to be helpful. The facility is always clean and safe. They go out of their way to remember repeat customers. Their prices are competitive and they are investing their profits back into the business to help it grow. My whole family loves to go there and they can't say enough good things about Point Blank. Sure, it would be nice if they had a 100 yard range but the friendly people make up for that, and the other location does have a 100 yard range. I hope to get a chance to go to the new range soon, but we always have a good time. It would be nice if the range was open later in the evening because getting off work and making it there in time with traffic can be difficult, but they have families too. I have never seen them push anyone out the door at closing time, and they have stayed late several times when I have been there. read more

I've used the range twice and have purchased two firearms at this location. Great experience both times. No issues to report and received great customer service and support. Clean facility and nice range. I highly recommend because the alternative is less than palatable. Have had many bad experiences at other firearm shops. Everything from condescending old dudes talking down to you to employees sending me to the wrong range and then yelling at me for their mistake. I like point blank as they are professional and have many accessories as well as choice firearms. read more

I've been here dozens of times and heard a lot of mixed reviews. It get over crowded so get there early or buy a membership and reserve lanes if you shoot a lot. Membership prices are great! The premium is the most bang for your buck, pun intended! The basic is pointless and the Elite just gives you one perk over the premium which is 1 free class a month. read more

This is a great place to do some shooting. The associates are pleasant, polite, and knowledgeable. The prices are very reasonable and I have no reservations about going back the next time I'm in the area. The only thing I didn't have the opportunity to do was use one of their rental firearms. If I had, I'm sure I would given them a solid 5-stars. read more

To say I'm a gun newbie is an understatement! I've never held a gun in my life. This was my first experience. It was not what I expected. I was more nervous than I thought I would be. Everyone there was so helpful, friendly & especially safety oriented. I was really impressed. After shooting- which is sooooo loud I found out- I realized how different it is from depictions on tv & movies. It's much more difficult than I imagined. I'm definitely going back to take a gun safety class & improve my skills. This was a great first experience because of the staff & facility. read more

My kids are 9 and 10. They had a special for free range time for the kids. Overall great experience for me and the kids. read more

If I could give this shooting range zero stars I would. I was just at this range tonight, I have been here several times before and never had a good experience, but tonight was the worst yet. I took a new shooter to this range and the staff was nothing but disrespectful the entire time we were there. It started off with the range officer yelling at me when I was inside the red lines teaching my friend how to properly handle a firearm PRIOR to it even being loaded. Then throughout the next half hour we had him sweeping brass into our feet while we were shooting. This is not only disrespectful but also dangerous. At the end when we were cleaning up the range officer came over and rudely told us "your times up get out" This range would be better off not having a range officer than this clueless walnut who was an obvious danger to others. Not to mention the staff behind the counter is absolutely clueless when it comes to firearms and their own products. I advise anyone who wants a positive shooting experience to go anywhere else but this range. There are plenty of other nice places within a several mile radius that are the same price if not cheaper. read more

Place was clean and seemed safe but the staff was extremely rude. I have gone to target world for years but I thought I would try out this place because it was closer. The staff seem like they would rather be doing something else than helping people. They also charge for EVERYTHING! They charge for a second person on a lane, for ear and eye protection, and to renew their safety pass every year. They are more expensive than most for the lane as well. I don't mind paying more if I get more for my money but it doesn't seem like that is the case. If you can find somewhere else to go, do it but Cincinnati doesn't have much to offer. Maybe their other locations have friendlier service. read more

I cannot say enough how welcome I felt and how awesome my instructor Shane was! Really clean and beautiful facilities. Everyone I came in contact with was lovely and patient. I was SO proud of everyone for social distancing and wearing their masks (the sooner we get this pandemic contained, the sooner we can get back to normal! I took the Basic Handgun Class and my Instructor Shane (Shawn?) was absolutely fantastic (I am very bad with names and great with faces!) His instruction is what absolutely allowed me to feel comfortable once we got on the range and my target looked like one of a seasoned shooter! I would definitely recommend Shane (Shawn LOL) and definitely plan on spending my money here and bringing my friends back here to learn as well. Loved it! read more

I see a few bad reviews sighting bad service. I find these suspect. As with all human interactions there is always 2 sides to a story. Showroom: I find the sales people VERY attentive, almost too attentive sometimes. The amount of hand gun is almost overwhelming. However, it's quantity, if you look close, the brands are limited to the big name brands (Ruger, S&W, etc.) I have only seen 1 Taurus in the store. Prices seem to be pretty much standard. Watch for specials. Ex. Two days ago they had a one day sale, great deals on Rugers. My one complaint are the prices on used guns. Why would I pay $20 less then what I can buy a new gun for. I'll tell you why they get that price, because there are suckers born ever minute. . Range: The folks at the range desk (note I said folks and not guys. Yesterday there were 2 you do ladies running the range desk) are very nice, although not very helpful, IMHO. They need some training on how to gauge a persons experience with gun ranges and their range and quickly adjust their approach. This may include a little "speech" on their services and the range procedures. The range is clean, well maintained, and well staffed with range safety persons. More importantly, the range safety people actually maintain a safe range. Academy: I only have one experience. The class I took was a 1 day CCW class. The instructor was very qualified AND good. I think Dave W. might have done this a few time. As a training professional the need to take a close look at their PowerPoints and the test. Both are pretty sad, and worst, wrong. Interesting observation: I saw many women in the store, a large share of them unaccompanied by men. I also noticed people of various ages and races. This is great. A lot of guns shops and ranges cater to old white guys. read more

Staff is rude. Can't shoot more than 30 min because they shut down the range for classes all the time. Don't think having a VIP pass gets you anything. You don't even get your 10% discount. If your a female don't go here. The minute you have an issue with customer service or your gun. You will be treated like a little lady that shouldn't have a voice. I go to the range to relax and enjoy my hobby. Not to be so frustrated by the staff I can't even shoot well because I'm so annoyed. I bought a VIP membership. I should be able to shoot often, free rentals and 10% discount. Every time I go half the range is shut down for a class. I tried to look online when the classes were to avoid those time. No luck. I can only shoot for 30 min because they are so busy. Limiting my shooting time does not make my pass valuable. As I'm leaving the range officer tells the 3 young guys next to me sharing a lane they have 40 minutes left. How is that possible? When everyone else is limited to 30 min. Even if the crowd cleared after I started I should be able to shoot longer if there is no wait. My pass I paid for buys me that. I picked out a free rental only to have it given away. I was over charged. I told the guy that's not what it was last time I came. He was rude. Treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about. I pay and get my receipt. I said you didn't apply my 10% discount because of my VIP membership. He said sorry about that and walks off. I complain to the shift supervisor. He accused me a line jumping when I picked out my gun. If I did line jump someone should have told me. I would have apologized and got in my place. I certainly don't think I should be waited on before someone who was there first. Instead the guy waited on me and then gave my gun away. Guns were limited, again, because of classes going on. All the time! The supervisor did not care at all. I even said to him at one point. Forget it. You obviously don't care. The range office wasn't any nicer. My gun jammed while I was shooting. It was my gun. I know it. I clean it. I tried to resolve it but couldn't. I had no tools on me. If I would have been at my farm I would have resolved it myself. I'm in a range filled with people, so I did what I thought I was supposed to do, I get the range office. He says well the first you thing do is eject the magazine. I said I tried and can't. He couldn't eject it either. He was demeaning and very unfriendly. I expect a range officer to be friendly and have a teaching persona about themselves. Every time I go to the range there are more new shooters than experienced. I don't think anyone should discourage others from coming back or learning. I was so frustrated I wanted to just leave. Having a pass gets you nothing. It does't get you range time. It doesn't get you any special treatment or even any basic customer service you should get as a non-member. read more

Went in to pick up a 45 shield. They matched a sale price, threw in a battery and a hat. Super nice people. Will be back again.

Very clean range and helpful staff. I read some of the reviews posted before mine and I don't understand why everyone rated so low. Yes, it gets busy because it is a good, clean range. The business can't be faulted for that. I think the staff does a great job managing their clientele. I most recently visited on Father's Day weekend. My fault really - extremely busy weekend, but everyone in line got processed in a professional manner and were assigned lanes as soon as they were available. My friends and I had to wait a little longer because we wanted a rifle lane, but that wasn't a problem because we were able to browse the large selection of guns in the store, which were almost all on sale :) Reason for four stars is solely because the actual shooting area was very full. I don't necessarily think it's a small space, but I don't think they should allow as many people per lane. The Range Safety Officer didn't seem to enforce the rules and being someone who is well versed in firearms, I was extremely anxious to be around so many people who clearly knew nothing about them (the other customers, not the staff). Maybe it's just me, but a busy weekend is not the time to teach your panicked wife how to shoot an AR... read more

I purchased a firearm from here and had no issues what so ever. Friendly staff that was attentive and showed me multiple weapons with no stress on purchasing. I looked the gun over a few times and did some research before I committed to buying. I would give 5 stars for the sales team. My issues was with the range... I came in one night with my fiancé to do some shooting about an hour/ 45 min before close and brought 3-4 of my guns. The guy and girl a few lanes over must have had a groupon because neither of them were showing much knowledge of the rifle they had rented and weren't very safety conscious. There was a range officer but he was going between the two ranges and not paying too close attention as it was close to closing time. Well, these two idiots were firing from the hip with their rented AR and the girl first shot and broke one of the target holders (it happens sometimes not that big of a deal but still shows the carelessness) then she somehow managed to shoot out one of the lights down range a few lanes over and just kept shooting from the hip. I'm not sure if they paid attention during the initial safety video but their firearm knowledge and overall general carelessness were eye opening. After that I packed up and left even though there was time left. I'd rather not get shot by some moron who has no business even looking at a firearm lot alone shooting one. I don't think I'll be going to any public ranges such as this one with idiots like this around. Outside of the range, like I said, I purchased one of my rifles from here and I would be more than willing to buy from here again, I just won't be using the range and will instead be shooting on private property/ club ranges from now on. One star for the range because they do have better facilities than some other ranges in the city. read more

I'm from Columbus area but when I find myself in the Cincinnati area I always stop at this shop. Great service, friendly sales people and real good looking place. I would give 0 stars here if I could based off of the downright unprofessional RSO I encountered today. I had shot at this range many times before with positive experiences - definitely the best range in the Greater Cincinnati area in terms of facilities. I even bought a pistol there a few months ago which I have no complaints about. However, I went to the range today and will never be going back. I rented a rifle lane to get some muzzle velocity readings for some of my AR-15 loads. I put a few rounds downrange with my suppressor on, and as I was ready to pull the trigger, a hand grasped my shoulder. The RSO demanded to see the tax stamp for my suppressor, to which I protested as none of his legal business, but he insisted. I complied and showed my stamp (which he only reviewed the front side; he neglected to verify if the back copy matched the original so his legal determination was incomplete to begin with). It's their choice as a business to have their RSOs perform unsafe acts on the range and try to play police officer, but I will not be returning to financially support that activity. read more

The negative reviews on here seem to be about rude service. I have been to Point Blank several times. I have had great customer service from everyone I have come in contact with except for one... Frank is not suited for customer service. We can't all be ex-military and people new to shooting will have questions. It seems like he would rather be ANYWHERE but talking to someone with questions or in need of clarification. I'm not saying he doesn't have the appropriate knowledge, just the requisite patience. I was there today, and watched him walk past me, my stepson and my son (waiting by the register to buy $160 worth of merchandise). He glanced at all of us in turn and kept on walking - not to help anyone else, but to wander around the store. The range is good, 99% staff is helpful, but one scowling employee is enough for me to make my purchases elsewhere. read more

Overpriced and they do not even pick up the phone. I tried to call on 3 different days at 3 different times and every single time, nobody picked up the phone until I got disconnected.A lot of hype around (finally) some competition for the other poorly run shooting range in the area, but the experience so far hasn't been any better. Looking at the prices and their rules on when you can reserve a lane as a member, completely misses anybody that has a normal job as no reservations on a weekend are possible? What a joke. read more

To Whom It May Concern, This father's day weekend my fiancé, son and I decided we would try a new range and venture up to Point Blank in Blue Ash. We live in Kentucky so it was a little further than I would normally drive for a range but the Springfield Armory deal was going on and I also had a gift card. So we got in the truck and headed up to Blue Ash. As we pulled up to the building it was rather impressive. The outside of the building, landscaping, paint and parking lot looked great. Without the sign on the building I would have not believed we were in the right place. Most ranges/gun stores are not very appealing to the eye. Point Blank was the complete opposite and a very welcomed surprise. Walking in the front door you can see that the interior has been well-kept and another welcomed surprise. There was a massive amount of different firearms, accessories, ammo and other "goodies". I would venture to say there was something for every firearm enthusiast. With the normal Glock handgun to the rarely seen Vector rifle I was very pleased with the vast selection. We walked to the back counter and started the process of signing up for the Springfield Armory test shoot. At this time there were not a lot of people in the building so we were able to get all of our stuff done pretty quickly. They did however have to call the other store due to the gift card being purchased there. The first firearm we decided to test was the Springfield XDs 9mm. I have a similar firearm so I wanted to compare the two. As we shot through a few rounds of ammo one of the primers did not strike correctly so we set it aside. As we finished I had the Range officer check the round and he stated that the primers on the ammo are soft. So basically the firing pin didn't strike hard enough. He tossed the round in and shot it down the range. I was just glad it was not a hang fire. We left the range and headed back to the counter. At this time there were people waiting all over. I would say around 10-15 people. We stepped back up to the counter and asked if we could try the XDs 45acp next. The person behind the counter was confused if we were allowed to. She asked another person and they stated to give us 10 round of 45acp and the XDs. She placed the firearm and ammo in a container and we headed back to the range. At this point I was very excited because I have been really wanting to try out this new 45 XDs. I walked up to the lane and took out the firearm and 2 rounds. I placed two rounds in the magazine and racked in the first round. I aimed down range and pulled the trigger, "Click"... without the normal bang afterwards. I figured it was the primer again like the Range officer stated and reloaded. Once again I pulled the trigger and just a "click". This time I removed the round figuring it was just a bad round. I pulled the slide back again and let the next round load. I aimed and pulled and once again "click". At this time I am starting to think I was doing something wrong. I reload the round and pull the trigger again and "click.... thud". I pulled the slide back and see that the round is stuck in the barrel. At this time I tell my son and fiancé to move back as far as they can. I asked my fiancé to get the range officer. He walks over and looks at the firearm. I tell him the same thing is happening with this ammo and the other. I was guessing it was just bad primer. He looks at and then looks at the firearm. He takes a second look and tells me I am very lucky. I of course agreed because ammo getting stuck in the barrel is never a good thing. Then he stated I was seeing the full picture. I look closer and it finally hits me. The ammo that the person behind the counter gave me was not 45acp but 40 S&W. At this time I start to get nauseous and shaky. Thinking of what could have just happened to me was one thing. The biggest issue was what could have happened to my son or fiancé. The range officer brought back some 45acp so we could shoot. I was very upset but went ahead and shot thinking it might help with the stress that was just introduced. I of course checked every round that was placed in the gun at that point. We finished shooting and turned in the firearm and explained to the guy behind the counter the situation. He said "sorry" and went on his way. Really felt like he or anyone there did not care that a person at their establishment could have just killed, or seriously injured one of my family members or me. At this time the shaking turned to aggravation and the nausea returned. I really didn't think it would be good to drive at that point so walked around the store some more to calm down and get my composure. At that time talking to anyone there would have just caused more issues. I was very upset and being 2 days later talking about the situation stills makes me upset. At this time I am not sure I will return to this establishment. Not even sure I can recommend going here because of the situation that has happened. read more
