Almost a moot point, since they're going out of business, but based on my experience this afternoon, I'm not surprised they're closing. Just saw the sign yesterday, so went in today to see if there was anything that could be done with my unused three day range pass. No, "Sorry, nothing we can do" or anything like that. ...just, "Nope, range is closed." Period. read more

The employees of Fox Shooting Loft are always great. They're kind, easy to have a quick conversation with, even if it doesn't involve firearms, and always very helpful. The inventory selection here is AMAZING. Fox is almost has the inventory of a large chain, like Field and Stream, but it's small enough to have the homely-small-town-gunstore feeling. Every time I go in there I see something new, and it's not always just a few things. I think they probably have 7 large display cases full of handguns (with all the walls behind the counters covered with rifles), a 25 foot wall full of holsters and backpacks, and shelves all around filled with ammo, gear, attachments, and even a display case with some great quality cutlery and collector's items. The range upstairs is great. I think it goes out to about 75 feet, and the ventilation system is fantastic, very high-quality. The Range Safety Officers I've met here are pleasant, old-school guys that are always willing to lift a helping hand to correct something, give tips when asked, and even call out shots for me when I'm alone at the range. I know there was an incident that happened here last year and I don't know the details, but I've been shooting here since that happened without any worries whatsoever. I'm confident that Fox employees handled everything with professionalism and safety. They carry Federal as a range ammo in general, which I find to be quite expensive compared to Midwest or some other remanufactured rounds, but higher quality range ammo has a specific feeling that makes me want to use it more. I don't shoot at Fox often for the simple fact that I live in Cincinnati now, but when I do go next I will probably take some remanufactured rounds to fire. That's my only dislike about Fox, and that's a personal one, nothing major. read more

Been going here for sometime now, haven't got around reviewing it until now. First, I love the layout of having the range on the second floor. The staff is always wonderful. They're there when you need help, but they don't crowd over you. It's nice and clean. Never had a bad experience. read more

You're open for classes and have employees behind counter, but you're not open. I just wanted to pick up ammo that was already paid for. He said no register was opened, but I had a receipt where I already paid for it. You don't need money in the register to turn it on, but I guess they like being unfriendly! I'm new to the area and they are a few minutes away, but they got my last business. This is the third gun shop I've been to and I'll drive the extra and go to Shoot Point Blank. Great indoor shooting range with reasonable prices and friendly staff. Shot there a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The staff is knowledgeable with one of the gentlemen being a retired police officer. He was really helpful and friendly, and we ended up talking for a bit about the pros and cons of different handguns while I was there. The place is also very, very clean. I was highly impressed. I can't speak to their gun prices...they seemed like they were pretty decent though. I was there mainly for the range, but they do seem to have a fairly good selection. read more

My wife and I visited Fox Shooting Loft for the first time this week. We spent an hour at the range and rented a gun. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We changed our membership from Mad River Gun Range due to their poor customer service and unnecessarily overbearing range safety officer. Fox has great and friendly customer service and the ability to call ahead and reserve lanes is a plus. Although we had a few months left on our Mad River membership, we stopped going there after our last visit and joined FSL. read more

If you need a range that does, indoor shooting, adjustable targets, has guns for sale offers training classes it seems like a great spot. However some of their range rules having nothing to do with state range laws. The staff that work the range are very rude. Regardless of their rules they say are there for safety they recently had someone shoot themselves in the range. I generally try shoot there when my normal range is closed and generally leave before even walking in to the range because of treatment from the staff. read more

The good: Excellent facility and prices. Guys on the sales floor are helpful and friendly. Very nice range, the girls that manage the range are also great. Range masters are always friendly and helpful as well. Safety if always priority on the range and it's well priced. On a random drive by headed back to my hotel, I spotted the sign for this place. I was visiting from Tampa and am an avid shooter competing in both uspsa and idpa. I was greeted right away when I walked in. Staff downstairs was very friendly and approachable. So friendly I decided to rent and shoot. The young woman working the range was very helpful and made sure I knew all of the local range rules. The RSO was informative and professional. Next time I am in the area I will definitely return to Fox Shooting Loft. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. The folks are always pleasant, professional and personable. The prices are a little high, but the cleanliness of the range is worth it. The range masters do not put up with any bullcrap and are willing to assist the newbies. My son and I frequent the Fox Shooting Loft quite often and are always treated with respect. The best place around Dayton to shoot. Nice, clean, range with a friendly staff. I bring my 11 year old daughter here to shoot and they treat her like family. They also have a good selection of firearms priced lower than the big national chains. read more

Had a new rifle to sight-in so went to Fox Shooting Loft today. The staff was friendly and quickly directed me to the range where I bought a target and easily signed up for range time. The RO was friendly and helpful. He explained how to use the target controls and showed me where I could stow my range bag. Because I was sighting-in a new rifle he told me that there was a bag available to rest my rifle on for optimal steadiness. We had a friendly discussion about my results and as I prepared to leave, he showed me where there were goodly sized hand wipes available to wipe the lead from my hands. I only marked the rate as a 4 because I only used the range and have no knowledge of the other areas. In summary, it was a pleasant shoot in a friendly, clean, and helpful atmosphere. read more

Only took one visit to this range to know this is the place for me. I bought a membership and couldn't be happier. I have purchased two pistols from them and they have handled my FFL needs when required, which by the way is part of the membership. The staff from sales to range are top notch. They all know their stuff and help is only a request away for anything. I have not been to all the ranges in the Dayton area but Fox is far and away the best of the ones I know. I can't imagine there is a nicer range anywhere. read more
