The daily special slices are where Randy's really shines. The NY White is perfectly garlicky and creamy, the Don Vito is loaded with flavor, and the Meat Lovers slice is exactly what it sounds like. Since my family had a craving for pizza, I stopped here since was conveniently on my way. I ordered a 16 incher, half with sausage and mushrooms and the other half with tomato and bacon. The guy taking my order at the counter spoke very quietly and we had to go through the order two additional times. But I actually appreciate that because he wanted to make sure he got it right. The pizza took about 20 minutes to make and in the meantime, they let me have a small cup to grab a fountain drink. And they do offer a good variety of Coke products, plus sweet and unsweet tea. There is one unisex restroom, but fortunately, it was kept clean. I did have an issue that the paper towel dispenser was empty. As for the pizza, it was solid. Crust was NY style thin, crispy at the top with a little chew, and thankfully, no big air bubbles. Unfortunately, the undercarriage flopped straight down; in my opinion, there should be some crispiness on the bottom. Good quality sauce and cheese as well, and everything was well proportioned. Amazing food, exceptional service and it was so nice to revisit. I live only miles down the road but never make it down S. Miami. Today, I changed that. Long ago, when we went to an office, I would meet my brother who worked next door at Lenovo. It was always the Chicken Parm sub! The place still feels the same and smells of great Italian food. I ordered 10 pizza pies for a company event, and I was happy that they had a selection of vegetarian pizzas, pizzas without pork or beef, and even pizzas without tomatoes. This made sure that I could meet everyone's dietary restrictions. I ordered the pizzas for 11:45 a.m., but they arrived at 11:00 a.m. That's a pretty big difference, and so the pizza was pretty cold by the time that lunch came around. I politely asked the employee at the register to place the bag on the counter so I could verify the ticket against my app. She refused. She would not place the order on the counter for me to confirm. There was no explanation, no attempt to help--just a flat refusal. When I persisted in my (perfectly reasonable) request, other staff members chimed in to defend her behavior and told me to just leave with the order without confirmation. Their solution was for me to potentially take the wrong order, jeopardizing my rating and my customer's meal, rather than simply placing the bag on the counter for five seconds. As an African American man, I am acutely aware of how I am treated differently in certain spaces. The outright refusal to perform a basic, standard part of the pickup process, combined with the staff ganging up to dismiss my concerns, felt targeted and unprofessional. I was not asking for special treatment; I was asking to do my job correctly. I ultimately had to leave without properly confirming the order, feeling disrespected and humiliated. I cannot recommend this pizza place, not because of the food, but because of the conduct of its staff. They created a hostile environment over a simple request. Option 2: To be More Direct and Concise Title: Felt Discriminated Against As a Black Dasher I will never pick up from Randy's Pizza again. Every time we order from Randy's, we always end up getting the same thing - the Mango Habanero wings, Garlic Knots, Onion Rings and the Kickin' Hawaiian Pizza with pineapple, bacon, jalapeno and chicken. I ordered the baked ziti, garlic knots and a small garden salad. What I received was a small caesar salad and boiled noodles with pizza sauce and cheese on the noodles. I called back to let them know the salad was not what I ordered and was not happy about the so called baked ziti. The store manager stated that the ziti was in fact boiled noodles with pizza sauce and cheese on top of the noodles. The sauce wasn't even blended into the noodles. If I would have known that I wouldn't have ordered what they called baked ziti. The store manager said I could bring the order back and they would replace it. (We are only in Durham on the weekends and usually get pizza hut, but they are going downhill lately, so we shopped around for a new cost-effective pizza joint) We ordered two calzones, 6 garlic knots, and 6 mozzarella sticks, with marinara and ranch. The calzones were the best I've had, the dough was perfectly cooked, cheese was melted and tasted fresh, the pepperoni (we got substituted instead of ham) tasted like deli meat not just bland greasy fast food pizza pepperoni. The garlic knots were fantastic they could've used a little more garlic. However, the bread was perfect it was fresh and perfectly dense dough, cooked all the way through but still soft. It's definitely a fresh breath of air from Pizza Huts frozen mess. The mozzarella sticks however I give a 4 out of 10, could be my fault though because we ordered takeout instead of eating in but we didn't like them, they were to tough and a wee bit salty. Had a taste for pizza, went with Randy's ordered 12 or 14" pizzas. One was 1/2 pepperoni & the other side was plain on one pizza. The other pizza was like Hawaiian with jalapenos on it. We noticed the crust being extremely thin & almost not there. slices were extremely small, the middle of the 1/2 & 1/2 pizza was very soft, almost not cooked dough sort of. Same with the Hawaiian one. The taste for both were ok, but I am from NY & this might favor NY pizza in look, but it's definitely not NY pizza. We also ordered boneless wings, they had flavor, were coated well, the dipping sauces sucked so we used our own dipping sauce from some leftover Korean fried chicken sauce. We also ordered two beef gyros. I know of some people who probably would say this was the best gyro ever, however, again I would disagree. This was one of the worst! It seemed rushed it its cooking process. There was minimum flavor in the meat, & the meat was entirely too soft in texture. The onions on it seemed to be of old taste. The cucumber sauce was totally not me or my son. I used cucumber ranch salad dressing on it in hopes that it would be better, I later felt a little nauseous after eating it. Haven't been to Randy's since before the Pandemic occured. After today's experience, I have no reason to return. I ordered a Stromboli at 12:15pm. Asked for an update on my order at 12:40pm and was assured it would be coming soon. Asked for another update at 12:50 and was informed that my order was given to another person and that I would be given a refund and 2 slices of pepperoni as compensation. Asked for an update at 1pm on the 2 comp'd pepperoni slice and was told they would be out soon (as they continued to server other customers pepperoni slices). Absolutely horrible experience. I called in an order for a steak and cheese sandwich no onions, they gave me a chicken cheesesteak with onions. I called once I got home and realized the order was wrong. The guy wasn't listening AT all I repeated my issue 3 times. Afterwards I asked for the general manager not the store manager. Well a lady named Danielle Matthews picked up saying she's the GM and that I needed to bring the sub back up and they will make the order. I said I'm in for the night and she said well that's all we can do for you. I said what about the lack of listening and poor customer service, I then asked for her manager (mind you I said I would come up the next day to get the sub remade correctly) she said I can go to the website and find that information she's busy with customers and can't. What GM is in the store? I said well I want someone to listen back at the call bc the guy didn't listen (guy whispers in the background that they keyed it in wrong) I asked for her manager info again and she refused then hung up on me.
