Haven't been to Randy's in a while because it's pricey. Bought the girls here to celebrate the end of a long school year. We kept it simple and ordered a large pepperoni pizza and mild wings. I paid about $42. We ate inside and everything was fresh and delicious. Service was cool and the inside was clean. The soda tasted funny and should probably be cleaned. I placed a to go order and it was ready pretty quickly after I ordered. When I went to pick it up, it was super hot and the staff made sure I had everything I needed. I love Randy's Pizza and it is my favorite pizza in Durham. But DANG, $26.88 for a medium deluxe and $30.10 for a large deluxe. That's picking it up and likely without tax! I called to ask. At that price I can make two high quality gluten-free/ grain-free pizzas myself. I am gluten-free but I still break down once every few years and want a REAL pizza. I guess I can't afford restaurant pizza anymore. But their deluxe pizza and pepperoni, ham and pineapple pizzas are the best you'll find around. Sadly, they are out of my budget. When I think what $30 of groceries can get me, I just cannot justify buying a pizza at this cost. Still 5 stars for quality. read more

Went to eat after my brothers game, place was pretty empty but it took 30-40 mins for them to get us the food. We ordered a cheesecake with strawberry jam and when they finally brought it out it was frozen solid, we had to get going for another event but the person wasn't able to help or compensate me at all for the frozen solid cheesecake they served me. Yikes. 2 back to back failed delivery experiences. First time completely forgot our order but gave us our meal for free so we thought we would give them a second chance. There are pizza joints that do fancy artisanal pizzas, and there are pizza joints that offer solid, satisfying basic pizzas. The Randy's local chain is the latter, which means they are dependable but won't attract the gourmet crowd. We recently moved near this location and I used a discount to get a large veggie pizza. And when I say large, I mean LARGE! It was so big that the box it came it could be broken down into a smaller size just to fit into your fridge. Pizza was decent, as expected with previous experience with Randy's. This location is adjacent to a taproom so a lot of people hang out at the outdoor tables and get beer with their pizza. I ordered a pizza thru GrubHub. It was delivered to a wrong address. Randy's Pizza argued with me about the delivery. The drivers word against mine. It was delivered by a Randy's Pizza driver. They would not replace the pizza & told me I was going to have to contact GrubHub for a refund. It was the most insane conversation ever. Very rude. I cannot go any lower than a one so I am giving them one star. They do not even deserve that. UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner & the person I spoke to with apologies. I am getting a credit. Good luck getting your order. I am now on my third incident of my order not ready (not even started). Whether it is called in or through the Slice app, I no longer have any faith in actually having food ready when we pick up. My husband and kids would go weekly in the summer and order a slice at the counter - that seems to go fine. Quality is also inconsistent. Plain cheese or pepperoni is good. But specialty, like bbq chicken, can be very hit or miss. Once my slice was drowning in bbq sauce. I lived in Brooklyn for a decade. This does not hit the mark. I am originally from NY, and nothing comes close to authentic NY Style pizza like Randy's! The food is excellent-- my go-to order is an 18 inch (yes, 18 inch!!) Elia's Classic Greek pizza, garlic knots, and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken! I love this place...here's a list of why: 1) When you call them, someone who sounds like they want your money and/or wishes to get you something you want, answers the phone and while that sounds like, it SHOULD be the norm... Calling for pizza, chinese or any other delivery in this area (or anywhere else I've lived) leaves so much to be desired. Most of the time the person answers the phone is impossible to understand, (for what appears to be any number of reasons) making the difficult task of ordering for the 8 other schmucks in your house, all the more...it makes me wonder how these places stay in business. Randy's rocks this one out consistently. 2) The pizza is delicious, huge and crowd pleasing. 3) The canolis are damn tasty. 4) They're local. And while the major chains have online ordering so you don't have to talk to that numbskull answering the phone at their place, Randy's makes calling easy. Just to re-emphasize that point. My boyfriend and his family swear by this place and they're all natives of Durham. Their pizza is so good, New York style with the huge thin slices and I love the crispy crust. I also really enjoy the greek salad that they have and the dressing that comes with it is perfect. We've also had them cater an office party we had and it was quick and easy to set up. I've also tried their philly cheesesteak which is also really delicious. I also enjoy their fries, they taste like the ones that are twice fried and are a little bit thicker. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the staff can be having very vulgar conversations in front of customers but that only happened twice when I was there. I don't eat in often i order to go. Horrible overcharging and unprofessional. They charged me 3 times for my order, refused any refund on overcharging forcing me to file bank complaints. Employees are rude and condescending and quite frankly avoid this business they don't care. I called and verified my order for delivery and was lied to, then they refused to do anything later after 2 hours to get the order refunded or sent out. They further couldn't have cared less and blamed me for the issues they have and multiple charges. I would never recommend this location and given the horrible treatment advise anyone to avoid them. Also check to make sure they won't charge you multiple times or incorrect amounts as they apparently do this and will do nothing to fix their fraudulent charges. Which is the worst part over ordering, calling to verify the order, then having them lie about it being for delivery and never receiving what I ordered. read more

Stick to the cheese, don't order the veggie supreme. My wife and I ordered a supreme veggie that was a complete soggy mess, as in we couldn't even pick it up to eat. I put it in the oven to try and improve it. Also found a piece of sausage in the pizza. Called the store to let them know it was terrible. Manager offered to replace the pizza if I drove it in, but I declined as I didn't really have time to drive in. I think he should have offered to refund or deliver a replacement. I have lived in Durham for four years after living in New Jersey and thought I would never find a good, authentic pizza place. I live around the corner from Randy's and would always see the sign as I drove by. So one day I stopped in and took a pie home. Best move so far when it comes to pizzas. The crust was crunchy, the proper amount of meat and veggies were applied under a fair amount of cheese. All in all a great pizza experience. This is the only location I've come to and they are usually packed during lunch time when I come. Though I'm told the meat lover pizza is amazing, I usually stick to two slices of cheese and it is great. Terrible customer service from the manager. I was served the wrong food after a 45 min wait and called as soon as I got home and was told to come back. Unfortunately I was not waiting another 45 mins for food and try to find parking in an overcrowded lot. The girls who were working were very kind and said to call back the next day and when I did I was told to bring back the food from the night before. Don't go here based on the name because the other locations are great:...just a bad manager here. Maybe if you serve the customer the wrong food you could offer them a refund or a coupon. Really good New York style pizza, and great daily specials. My husband and I recently ate at Randy's on a Monday, and couldn't believe our 14" one-topping (pepperoni!) pizza was only $8.99. We've also ordered take out pizzas from Randy's and the quality is always perfect. The dine-in experience is no-frills so we typically order take out, although I suppose no-frills is actually pretty authentic for a New York pizza joint. read more
