Claudia is incredible. I began going to her a few years ago when she was recommended by the bride I was in the bridal party of. All of the bridesmaids ended up going to her and our dresses fit so perfectly. I've taken in a few other things like dresses and skirts and she did a wonderful job. It was now my turn to tie the knot and there was no other place I wanted to go. I trust Claudia to do amazing work. My dress had a bunch of lace and it was a keyhole dress and it is so intricate. I needed the bottom to be hemmed and I needed the entire top to be taken in quite a bit. I brought it in in the beginning of the month of my wedding and it was done within a couple of weeks. The dress fit incredibly, I am so happy with how it turned out. I had her do my rehearsal dinner dress as well and that turned out so cute. I asked for a simple alteration to have my bust taken in and a slit higher on my dress and she did not touch the slit. I went back to tell her and she tried to say she did! I can see exactly where the pin marks are and now she won't even take it up! This lady is rude and I just wasted my money coming here. read more

My family has been taking clothes to be altered by Claudia at Rancho Tailors for years, and our items have always been returned with satisfied results---in a very timely manner and inexpensively, too! Aside from my own positive experiences with Claudia's work, I always see uniforms (military, police, etc.) in there when dropping off or picking up items, and I'd think that if they trust her by bringing in their official garb to be mended or altered... it's safe to say that Rancho Tailors is definitely tried and proven true. My daughter was Jr. Miss Temecula and I could not find an age appropriate evening gown for her in the stores so Claudia made her one from scratch..it was perfect. From the moment my daughter and I walked into Rancho Tailors, the owner Claudia was very rude. I thought she was having a bad day. When I picked up the dress, it was even worse. I pulled out my out my debit card and she pointed to the signs and asked if I could read. She only takes cash or check. I had to run home and get my check book. Here is the unfortunate thing about Rancho Tailors. The owner, Claudia, is really talented. She does phenomenal work and I've been taking my dresses to her for almost four years. I even had her alter my vintage wedding dress and her work was flawless. Claudia is the best at what she does but she has ZERO customer service skills and really doesn't give two shits how she treats people. I have always recommended her to everyone I know but now I will never be going back. At the end of February I brought her a dress. When I went to pick it up later that week there was a sign on her door saying she would be gone for a month. A MONTH! I thought maybe she had a last minute family emergency because she never mentioned it when I brought my dress in. Last weekend when I finally, FINALLY went to pick it up I forgot that she only takes cash and I had none on me. I went in trying not to be frustrated by the fact that she disappeared for a month, but this was the straw that broke the camel's back. I got angry and I brought up the fact that I've been waiting over a month to pick up this dress. She had the nerve to snap at me and tell me "I TOLD you I was going on vacation." I said, "NO Claudia, actually you didn't! You told me nothing. I had no idea where you were!" I needed that dress for an event and I had to go buy something new because she forgot to tell me she would be leaving for an entire month. Instead of apologizing for forgetting to tell me, she turned the whole thing around on me. She snapped at me and said it's not her fault or her problem that I forgot she only takes cash. Seriously? This is how you treat your loyal customers? I did absolutely nothing wrong in this situation and yet she's treating me like I'm the bad guy. I'm still appalled that she didn't even think it necessary to apologize for forgetting to tell me she would be leaving for a month. What kind of respectable business owner treats their customers this way? I had heard about Claudia's bad attitude towards other customers but I had personally never experienced it myself over the years. Now that I have, I refuse to go back to her. I work too damn hard for my money to give it to an ungrateful, bitter woman that obviously doesn't care whether she gets my business or not. read more

I have gone to Claudia since I was a teenager! She is amazing! She treats her customers like family. She is quick and prices are great!

My sister recommended this place to me for alterations for the price and service. I've taken items in a few times and after my last experience, I refuse to ever go back. Every time I went in, the tailor (don't know her name) was always rude and it didn't matter how nice I spoke to her. But I kept going because it was cheaper than my usual place and I wanted to give this Tailor a chance. My last straw was when I took in a favorite sweater and asked if she could fix the end of the sleeves that were beginning to fray. She rudely said to me, "NO, THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE." I asked her very kindly if she knew of anyone in the area she could recommend, but she said again and this time a bit louder, "NO, THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE." I grabbed my sweater, walked out and will NEVER go back. There are quite a few who gave this tailor a low score, mostly because of customer service. Well I'm not one of them. The owner Claudia is foreign and therefore may be misunderstood. My mother in law is Finnish, so I understand how remarks etc can be misconstrued. I went in for a small sewing job, and she was pleasant, had the job done the next morning, and her prices are better than anyone around. Need to have some curtains hemmed up for my desired size and searched for a tailor close by and found Rancho Tailor and some others. Read some bad reviews about Rancho Tailor and wanted to check if these reviews are true but NO!!!!! I went to this facility to get a formal evening dress hemmed. I asked if there would be a problem since I needed it for the following weekend and the man behind the counter said no problem. When I brought the dress in on Monday morning, the older lady was there and did not speak to me. I explained what I had asked the man if the hem could be done in time for the coming weekend and she grunted! She measured me with the shoes I was going to wear for the occasion, then she spoke and said the dress would be done the coming Wednesday after 1:00 pm. So, I went in the store and again the woman said NOTHING except it would be $36. So, I paid and trustingly took the dress home so that I could pack and get ready for the weekend. The affair was a formal wedding at the Biltmore in Santa Barbara and once I put the dress on, I was mortified to realize the dress HAD NEVER BEEN HEMMED!! I had to "carry" my dress during the entire affair, as it was dragging on the ground! I was so embarrassed! The woman I had dealt with is the most incompetent, rude piece of human flesh I have ever encountered in a small business! She knew damn well that dress had not been hemmed at all and then to CHARGE me!! Such a deceitful, evil ugly witch! I read the reviews and thought I was getting a great tailor! Not sure what the name of the woman I was dealing with ... I even thought at the time that she may NOT SPEAK ENGLISH and that could have explained her seeming completely rude, but whoever Claudia is I sure did not get her!! We've been using Claudia for around 18 years including my daughters wedding dress and several hem and misc fixes. She can be a bit short sometimes, but I've been able to get a smile out of her most of the time. The ones that have problems with Claudia are probably WAY TOO THIN SKINNED. Wow! I just can't believe what I am reading, it just goes to show you that retail mom and pop stores are a nightmare for the owners. Claudia is someone that my wife and I love, we have been only going to her since we moved here 10 years ago from L.A. We have used her for everything and trust her more than any seamstress that we have ever had. My wife has a Teddy Bear that she loves and has had for many, many years and the Teddy Bear was looking very thin, the stuffing had gotten old, and the only person we would ever trust was her. I walked in with Teddy and Claudia just did what she always does, tells you what she is going to do, and in two minutes she had my wifes Teddy back to looking new again. I asked her if she ever thought she would play doctor to a Teddy Bear and she told me people have brought Pot Belly Pigs in to be fitted for clothes, Dogs as well, so she has done everything, and we love and adore her. I just have to say that maybe coming from a good place always starts any business dealing off right and I have been in her store many times and for many hours over the years and I have NEVER seen her be rude to ANYONE, no less ever call someone a bitch. She does have an accent like my Grandmother and like my Grandmother, she has a way of cutting though BS and just getting down to business so maybe that is what people might perceive as being rude but for me to say how fond both my wife and I are of her is not the usual occurrence when describing a shop owner but in this case, she deserves every bit of it. read more
