Stopped for a late lunch. Great special...2 potato tacos for $10.50 and it came with rice and beans. It was good, but it does need a sauce on it. The hubby got the super nachos at $9.60 a plate. They have Happy Hour every day so I also ordered a house margarita at $6.95. The place is big inside, plenty of seating. Hostess is right at the door ready to seat you and our waiter was quick and efficient.

I didn't realize I haven't rated this GREAT Far Southeast Mexican restaurant! I have been coming here for several years, it is also a go to place for my family to meet up. They are located at the NW corner of Old Vail Road/Mary Anne Cleveland and Houghton. Tight parking when busy, but they have handicap entrances and parking. I use this location not only for family gatherings, but also for catering. They are very friendly and prepare everything perfecto! They have a full bar with lots of drink specials, including early morning Mimosas and Bloody Mary. I love coming here for the Menudo and my wife loves the Pollo con Creme, The Chimis, Burros, and tacos are also amazing. They have lunch specials to order from as well. Most come with refried beans and rice, but you can ask for ranch beans. My family also LOVES their Mango Chicken Salad which is a great light fare, and can be a special order for catering. There is bar seating, open table, booths and outdoor seating as well, with TV's located in select areas. Great for groups. Restrooms are usually clean. Don't sit outside on summer days, but they try to cool with fans. Fills up for dinner so call for a reservation. They also have happy hours.

Fast service, friendly staff, and yummy food! We had a late dinner here after we made it into town and it was still pretty busy on Friday night. We were seated right away and chips and salsa were dropped off as we were putting in our drink orders. I ordered the chicken flautas and my mom and sister shared the molcajete which came with shrimp, meat, and chicken. Everything was delicious and cooked well. It all had flavor and portions were great. The salsa was delicious and the sauce the molcajete had was so yummy. Will be back when in the area!

We were visiting Saguaro National Park and camping in the Tucson area when we found this restaurant on-line. My wife and I shared a Molcajete Trio for two. This dish comes with beef, chicken and shrimp. It was delicious! Our server Alan was very attentive. The host, and other staff also made us feel very welcomed. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her house "Original" margarita. We plan to return before we leave Tucson. Dine here and you won't be disappointed.

Molcajete Marisos for one

Went here the other day and wanted to try something new. I ordered the Molcajete Marisos for one, a seafood dish. It is served in a VERY HOT volcanic dish. The liquid in the bowl bubbled for a long time. It was very tasty and filling. The seafood was cooked perfectly. It had a side of refried beans and rice. Our server was quick and attentive.

The Rancho Rustico was just the small local Mexican restaurant I was looking for last night. I'm in town just two night and a local recommended the restaurant. The staff are friendly, service was great, the food was delicious, and salsa had just the right amount of kick. I had the Seafood (shrimp) tacos and a Cadillac margarita.

We stopped in as me and my family were traveling through. The food was really good! My parents loved the habanero chili. Also, our waiter Danny was very attentive. Very nice restaurant! Thank you

Mango & Chicken Salad Full

I'm not usually a big "salad" person, but I can't resist Mexican food with mango. I ordered the Mango Chicken Salad and absolutely LOVED it! Flavorful and filling. My husband went with the chicken fajitas, and they came out SMOKING hot. I've never seen such an impressive sizzle! The service was friendly and proactive. I especially appreciated the little pitcher of salsa for easy refills--such a smart idea! Overall, a great spot! Clean, friendly, fast service, and delicious food. Highly recommend!

Only reason I come here is because I get invited. But if you have a choice don't come. I've always been skimmed on my food. For the price to food ratio is horrible. They can't even fill my burrito.

Everything about this place deserves five stars across the board. The food is amazing, the staff are very welcoming/friendly, and the ambiance is perfect. It has a rustic/barn house look to it with plenty of seating ranging from table tops, bar stools, booths, and regular chair. They also have plenty of outside seating. They get you in, take your order, and the food is out in no time. They give you a lot of food for a reasonable price and offer happy hour deals on a daily. It's too bad we live in Phoenix because we would be here all the time. Would definitely make a trip from Phoenix to Tucson just for the food.

Unfortunately, Guadalajara is one of these places. What I like: This restaurant can accommodate well over 100 diners without sacrificing service. Food only took 20 minutes during a dinner rush. I appreciate a well-oiled machine. I will admit, the salsa gimmick is charming. What needs work: Just because there's tableside salsa does not mean it's good. I have never seen anyone use so much cilantro! The drinks are mid--the jalapeno margarita uses the mildest peppers in the universe, and surprise! It's somehow also loaded with cilantro. I excitedly went for the biggest, most famous burrito on the menu and it just has too many ingredients (beans, rice, bacon, shrimp, carne asada) to work. They were too ambitious with this one. My bad. I can see this as a really fun place to take a large group from out of town. I bet if you come from the Midwest (it is full of snowbirds from the Midwest), this is mind-blowingly good. By Arizona standards, however, there are just too many old-timey places that simply do everything better.

The entire restaurant was packed with energy, music, and people enjoying the celebration, but it still managed to keep that classic Tucson charm and authentic Sonoran feel that has made El Charro such an iconic spot for over 100 years. The ambience downtown was fantastic, especially with the historic setting and the excitement throughout the evening. Cinco de Mayo brought an extra level of energy to the restaurant, with a lively crowd, great music, and a fun atmosphere that made the night feel like a true celebration. Even with how busy it was, the staff worked hard to keep things moving and remained friendly throughout the night. The food was excellent and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and you can tell why El Charro has become such a Tucson staple over the years. The carne seca continues to stand out as one of the signature dishes in the city, and the traditional Sonoran-style flavors really make the experience unique. The margaritas and drinks were also a highlight and paired perfectly with the festive Cinco de Mayo atmosphere. Between the food, drinks, music, and the energy of downtown Tucson, it felt like one of the best places in the city to celebrate the holiday. Overall, El Charro Cafe delivered a memorable Cinco de Mayo experience with great food, a lively atmosphere, and the kind of Tucson history and culture that keeps people coming back year after year.

The cheese crisp was another standout, especially with all the topping options. The ambiance on the patio with the twinkle lights is so adorable and cozy. I highly recommend grabbing one of the seats with the huge cushions, they are unbelievably comfortable and make the whole experience even better. Spacious patio area, with cool lights, umbrellas, and many tables. If you have a choice and it isn't too hot, sit outside. The food is stellar! The rest of the table (3 more) ordered the green chicken enchiladas. They didn't need to rave about it: their plates were completely clean at the end of the meal! We ordered Tamarindo and Horchata drinks between us, and frankly, the Tamarindo is some of the best I've ever had anywhere. Service can be a little slow, especially if they're busy. Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
