My fiance said he has had better burritos at Chipotle. My friend from out of state said hers was a very basic cheese quesadilla. We asked for an update on how long the qiesabirria plate would take and the server would not give us an answer only that it was "backed up." Everyone was finished dby the time it came out. They didn't offer a refund initially but did acquiesce when asked, and still gave us the dish. ...It was bad. Everything was so dry. The beans tasted days old. The birria consome was watered down and bland which I didn't think was possible for birria to be. Even the onions, cilantro, and lime could not save the tacos as they were dryer than the Sonora desert. Honestly I'm the most upset that after all of that, the food wasn't even good. Idk I feel like if you throw a stone, you can get better Mexican food at wherever it lands in Tucson. This place was absolutely not worth the hype and we will not be returning. Thats always a risk because the food might not be as fresh as when it's freshly served. The woman ahead of me asked for well done crispy bacon wrap. I should have done the same, but I wanted to try it the standard way first. I really wanted to love this, but the standard soggy bacon wrap is not my thing. My stomach could not cope with the grease either -- this looks like pretty low quality bacon that is mostly fat. I was pretty disappointed and only finished half!

And it's reasonable. I have been here a bunch of times and I have never had a bad experience. The decor is simple, colorful, and music not too loud. The staff is always nice and helpful. They run a tight ship here and it's noticed and appreciated. Is the birria the best? No. Is the Carne Asada? No. But they both are good. Not knock you off your feet good, but good. Get it? The Carne Asada has noticeable flavor and it's mostly juicy. I do mark it down a bit because it tends to be kibble like and not cut like traditional Asada. But it's forgivable. The birria could use a tad more salt, but it's flavorful and easy to eat. My favorite thing is the Chimi Sumo, it's a solid take on a Chimichanga and is the right amount of food. They are one of the very few places in Tucson that has keto tacos, so that goes in their favor. I want to try the Birria Pizza, I have yet to try one anywhere and I feel like Rollies can give me a solid first experience with that. All in all, Rollies is a solid, above average resturant in Tucson. I enjoy them, and it's a good place to have lunch or an early dinner during the week. Additionally, they have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is very friendly and they announce your order via your name on the intercom. Parking can be slightly limited, so just be cautious when turning and parking, since the space is tight. It's a great place to stop for lunch or dinner, especially if you are in South Tucson area.
