Joseph, Victor and the A Team (including Jr.) did an amazing job, which is not easy because it is a small property with intense plantings under the trees. Victor made sure that each tree was trimmed and shaped correctly and maintained its health and beauty. The results could not have been better. Not sure why this company has received so many positive reviews as our experience with them has been quite negative. We hired Rancho Coastal to thin and shape our pecan tree; they did a really poor job of that, as evidenced by the picture (taken just a few months later.) On top of the lousy shaping job, their tree-trimmers left an abundance of debris in both ours and the neighbors' front yard, which we had to clean up. They scratched the daylights out of our gate by dragging large branches past it. They dented a gutter, something we asked specifically for them to be careful not to do. We kept silent about these other complaints, but asked them to correct the shape problem, which they have refused to do. I have no intention of recommending or using again any company that does not stand by their work. read more

Rancho Coastal did a great job on my trees. They are very professional and knowledgeable. My large Senegal date palm tree was very sick from a previous company that did not sanitize their equipment. They did 3 treatments in the last year and a half and I think it will live and thrive. Susanna came out first to advise us what needed to be done and give us a quote. We hired Rancho Coastal to trim and pineapple our Canary Island Date palm tree. The work was done primarily from a cherry picker truck, which allowed them to access all parts of the tree to remove all the debris and dead frowns. The work done was incredible and we are extremely happy with the outcome. The attention to detail and the care taken with the tree was top notch. Highly recommend them. Had a stellar experience with the Rancho Coastal team to remove a huge eucalyptus that was threatening my neighbor's home, and to trim other eucalyptus and ash trees on my property. The quote they finally sent us was 3 1/2 times all my other estimates from other arborists . Brian and his crew did a fantastic job with our difficult backyard. Our yard doesn't have the best access and had been neglected for by the previous owners. (It probably hadn't been worked on in at least a decade.) The crew was able to clean up the several eucalyptus trees and the dead/dying bamboo. Brian discovered that one of our eucalyptus trees was pretty far gone and had the potential of toppling onto our neighbor's house in the future. Coastal Tree Service is the best I have ever used. I have gotten to old to prune my fruit trees and other companies just didn't have knowledge in this area but claimed they did. The crew was on time, posted curb signs the day before and came with so much enthusiasm. They respected my knowledge of 52 years of gardening and we made decisions together. The cut down your tree, they can trim your tree, there are conscious of the environment, I asked him to watch out for my hummingbirds and they did! We use them before to cut down a tree that was on powerlines last year, and they did such a good job we had them back to do our backyard today. Let me start with the quotes. I took several bids for this job and each quote was sent via text which did not sit well with me. The other quotes were lackluster to say the least. CUT TREES/ Dollars blah blah blah... Then came Coastal... NOTHING less than exceptional!!! I expressed the scope of work to Justin and he listened to exactly what I wanted. I had MANY pepper trees, MANY agaves, and a very tall palm tree to remove. He took photos, answered all my questions, and set to work putting together a very competitive bid, even matching my lowest. The written quote was the most professional I have seen in a long time and I read contracts for a living. He included his license, insurance, photos and full scope of the job in a step by step written proposal. This was truly what made me choose Coastal Tree Care. I scheduled with Lauren (forgive me if I got her name wrong it was last month and I lost the note I wrote it on) Nothing less than professional as well. She helped me pick a date and also assisted when I had to reschedule due to an emergency. On the day of the service Josh, Evan and Ben were on site at 7:00 am and were here for the day dealing with our pepper trees and the agave nightmare. For those who do not know. agave sap is an irritant and two of the three were heavily affected by the sap. They never complained and continued on all day until the job was done. These three were a truly amazing team. They removed all the trees, ground the stumps, swept, and removed all sign the trees or succulents ever existed. When complete, they checked for my approval. Hired them to work on removing a tree, planting a new one, and trim back a third. They did a great job! Highly recommend. Both customer service and technical skills were excellent. When I first called them, I wanted to move my tree, which I didn't know the name of. The owner asked for a picture so I texted him one. He ID'ed the tree right away and gave me some suggestions. That was great because it saved me time off work and prevented a huge mistake. Instead of moving (and killing) the tree, we planted a new one. They coordinated with a local nursery to deliver the tree, showed up on time (early actually), had all the equipment and crew to complete the whole job way faster than I thought. About 1-2 hours!
