We recently hired Rancho Coastal Tree to trim our 24 massive old eucalyptus trees. Joseph, Victor and the A Team (including Jr.) did an amazing job, which is not easy because it is a small property with intense plantings under the trees. Victor made sure that each tree was trimmed and shaped correctly and maintained its health and beauty. The results could not have been better. The "A Team" was a lovely group of polite and professional men who absolutely enjoyed their job and performed wonderfully. It was a pleasure to have each of them here. We've been maintaining these trees for over 35 years, and no one has done a better trimming job than Rancho Coastal. read more

Not sure why this company has received so many positive reviews as our experience with them has been quite negative. We hired Rancho Coastal to thin and shape our pecan tree; they did a really poor job of that, as evidenced by the picture (taken just a few months later.) On top of the lousy shaping job, their tree-trimmers left an abundance of debris in both ours and the neighbors' front yard, which we had to clean up. They scratched the daylights out of our gate by dragging large branches past it. They dented a gutter, something we asked specifically for them to be careful not to do. We kept silent about these other complaints, but asked them to correct the shape problem, which they have refused to do. I have no intention of recommending or using again any company that does not stand by their work. read more

Rancho Coastal did a great job on my trees. They are very professional and knowledgeable. My large Senegal date palm tree was very sick from a previous company that did not sanitize their equipment. They did 3 treatments in the last year and a half and I think it will live and thrive. Susanna came out first to advise us what needed to be done and give us a quote. She also came out to clarify with Solis and Lorenzo who did a great job pruning and cleaning up. Also Janet in billing is very nice to work with. Thank you Rancho Coastal! read more

Very timely quote and assessment and honest review. heplful advice about canary date and how things are transmitted will use again soon.

We hired Rancho Coastal to trim and pineapple our Canary Island Date palm tree. The work was done primarily from a cherry picker truck, which allowed them to access all parts of the tree to remove all the debris and dead frowns. The work done was incredible and we are extremely happy with the outcome. The attention to detail and the care taken with the tree was top notch. Highly recommend them. Great value for the work done and the amount of time it took to make our tree shine. read more

Simply amazing from start to finish. Justin came out to evaluate three fruit trees that needed to be cut back for a fence installation. He provided advice on how to trim the trees not only to accommodate the fence but also to promote better growth and fruit production. The crew that came out was equally wonderful explaining their thoughts on what needed to be done and adding additional advice on how best to care for the trees. Our orange and avocado trees have never looked healthier! Highly recommend read more

Had a stellar experience with the Rancho Coastal team to remove a huge eucalyptus that was threatening my neighbor's home, and to trim other eucalyptus and ash trees on my property. The work was all on hillside and required access through my yard as well as my uphill neighbor's yard. I got a clear explanation of the work needed and why (removal vs trim). Great communication from office before the job, and from foreman during the two-day job. My hillside looks beautiful. Will definitely use Rancho Coastal for future work. read more

Brian and his crew did a fantastic job with our difficult backyard. Our yard doesn't have the best access and had been neglected for by the previous owners. (It probably hadn't been worked on in at least a decade.) The crew was able to clean up the several eucalyptus trees and the dead/dying bamboo. Brian discovered that one of our eucalyptus trees was pretty far gone and had the potential of toppling onto our neighbor's house in the future. We had it removed without an issue and the cost was not significant. I would strongly recommend Coastal Tree Care to anyone who needs an arborists. read more

Coastal Tree Care started with a wonderful consultation from Justin. Who not only quoted us on what needed to be done, but also explained the why behind everything. I had no idea bark beetles went dormant in the winter, now I know to wait to trim my pine trees. We had a large pine tree removed that was beginning to split. It was located right next to our fence and in between two houses. The team of Josh, Victor, Ben, and Primo did an amazing job with making sure we were aware of the process, cleaning everything up, and even offered to leave the leftover mulch to spread over our yard. I have already recommended them to my neighbor! read more

I had a great experience with Rancho Coastal Tree. Daniel is very knowledgeable and patient and prepared the quote. The tree trimming crew went above and beyond to make sure I was happy the the job. Thank you to supervisor Victor and to the crew of Nemo, Facundo, & Victor. The trees look great - beautifully shaped, and light and airy. It makes my whole front yard look much better. read more

I had the unusual request of pruning an ancient euphorbia without damaging the limbs so I could replant them. Justin was clear there could be some damage since they are so friable, but the crew did a nice job and none of the cut branches were damaged. Cheers! read more

They took over a week to respond to my request. Someone finally came out but i never received an estimate until i called the office to get one. The quote they finally sent us was 3 1/2 times all my other estimates from other arborists . Not sure if they are having their friends write these favorable reviews because my experience was anything but good. Shop around. These games seem like th type to rip homeowners off. read more

Everyone who I had contact with from Coastal Tree Care was very helpful and professional. Justin came by to give us a quote a day after I called the office. Sarah was so pleasant to speak with every time I called the office with questions. Andrew, Josh, and Victor gave us a courtesy call before arriving. They gave me a rundown of what they would be doing. They did such great work safely and efficiently. I appreciated that they also picked up and cleaned whatever fell into our neighbors' yards. I would definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend their company to family and friends. read more

Coastal Tree Care maintains my Canary Island Palm - a palm that is under attack from the South American Palm Weevil. As my neighbors lose their beautiful palms one after another and then incur the expense of removing these huge trunks, my Canary Island Palm is thriving thanks to a quarterly uptake treatment provided by Coastal Tree Care. I also use Coastal Tree Care for annual tree pruning and for removal of non-thriving trees and plants. Victor has a very good eye for symmetry and balance and his crew does a very good job of removing all debris and leaving the area spotless. Victor is on-time, efficient and reasonably priced. Highly recommend! read more

Coastal Tree Service is the best I have ever used. I have gotten to old to prune my fruit trees and other companies just didn't have knowledge in this area but claimed they did. The crew was on time, posted curb signs the day before and came with so much enthusiasm. They respected my knowledge of 52 years of gardening and we made decisions together. They knew exactly how to prune the trees and seemed to have a fun time doing it, laughing and sharing thoughts. I'll never trust my trees to anyone else. Their prices were very fair. read more

Victor and his team are outstanding! They gave me a realistic expectation of what they wanted to do, and the challenges in my backyard they may restrict them from fully trimming my date palm. Then they completely exceeded my expectations, got all of the seed pods taken off, and treated my tree for weevils. They even took care of a tree that was coming over my fence line at no extra charge. I'd highly recommend Victor and the Coastal Tree Care team and will working with them moving forward read more

We've used Coastal Tree Care for years to take care of our palms and regular maintenance. The crew has always been amazing, helpful, informative, and consistently does an outstanding job. We recently have Ben and Evan from Costal visit us for our annual pruning of two very large palms in front, two palms in back, and a carrot wood and they again did an outstanding job as always. Ben and Evan were timely, ensured the job was done well after consulting with us, and cleaned up the work area as if they were never there (better even). Couldn't be happier with the work they put in and would highly recommend Coastal. read more

This is the second time I've used Coastal Tree Care. I was so happy with the first time that I didn't even get estimates from other companies. Today, they took down three huge ficus & ground the stumps. Josh, Miguelm Ben and Evan were professional, courteous, efficient -- and nice. They moved my big planters out of the way on my deck & then moved them back again. I hate that my beautiful trees had to go, but they were just too messy for me to keep up with. I had a great experience working with the team at coastal tree care. Victor, Josh, Brian, and Justin were absolutely amazing in educating us about our trees and providing recommendations on how to care for them and to trim them so they can thrive in the future. I look forward to working with this team in managing my yard and all of my tree care for the future, they are great and very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend them. read more

Let me start with the quotes. I took several bids for this job and each quote was sent via text which did not sit well with me. The other quotes were lackluster to say the least. CUT TREES/ Dollars blah blah blah... Then came Coastal... NOTHING less than exceptional!!! I expressed the scope of work to Justin and he listened to exactly what I wanted. I had MANY pepper trees, MANY agaves, and a very tall palm tree to remove. He took photos, answered all my questions, and set to work putting together a very competitive bid, even matching my lowest. The written quote was the most professional I have seen in a long time and I read contracts for a living. He included his license, insurance, photos and full scope of the job in a step by step written proposal. This was truly what made me choose Coastal Tree Care. I scheduled with Lauren (forgive me if I got her name wrong it was last month and I lost the note I wrote it on) Nothing less than professional as well. She helped me pick a date and also assisted when I had to reschedule due to an emergency. On the day of the service Josh, Evan and Ben were on site at 7:00 am and were here for the day dealing with our pepper trees and the agave nightmare. For those who do not know. agave sap is an irritant and two of the three were heavily affected by the sap. They never complained and continued on all day until the job was done. These three were a truly amazing team. They removed all the trees, ground the stumps, swept, and removed all sign the trees or succulents ever existed. When complete, they checked for my approval. I gladly thanked them for a job well done. Would I hire Coastal Tree Care again? You better believe I would! Thank you for such amazing teamwork! read more

Hired them to work on removing a tree, planting a new one, and trim back a third. They did a great job! Highly recommend. Both customer service and technical skills were excellent. When I first called them, I wanted to move my tree, which I didn't know the name of. The owner asked for a picture so I texted him one. He ID'ed the tree right away and gave me some suggestions. That was great because it saved me time off work and prevented a huge mistake. Instead of moving (and killing) the tree, we planted a new one. They coordinated with a local nursery to deliver the tree, showed up on time (early actually), had all the equipment and crew to complete the whole job way faster than I thought. About 1-2 hours! Everything went smoothly and the new tree is thriving and looks great. Definitely recommend them for all arborist and landscaping projects. read more
