Hernan and Rodrigo showed up a few minutes before the estimate appointment time. Points for timeliness. They thoroughly evaluated our tree removal and trimming requests, quickly providing an e-mail that contained a reasonable estimate and confirming our agreed upon appointment for the project to start. Points for efficiency. On the day of the appointment to start, Rodrigo and his project leader, Freddy, arrived early and completely reviewed the project and plans. The remainder of the crew also arrived early and got everything in position. Points for professionalism. The project team performed their tasks with skill, polished competence, and masterful precision. Points for talent. Upon completion, everything was nicely cleaned up and left in great condition. Points for kind consideration. We could not be happier with Higuera Tree Care and most highly recommend them! read more

Called Higuera Tree Care and sent them pictures of stumps I needed removed. They were prompt with a quote and the price was great. They showed up on time and took out the stumps quickly. They cleaned up great and i was amazed at what a great job they did. Much appreciated and I would highly recommend read more

Our community had a cactus that was threatening to grow through the open risers of our outdoor staircase--it is a very prickly cactus. Very tall. Taller than me & I'm 5'9". Rodrigo was very easy to work with, friendly, knowledgeable, & confident that they could accomplish the job. Their price was reasonable. Rodrigo, Jose, & Alfredo came and moved the cactus into pots (it had two parts) in under 2 hours. I was very impressed. read more

Look no further! I highly recommend with no reservations! One of my neighbors highly recommended and referred me to this team because they are arborists who are knowledgeable and efficient. I contacted them via email but on their website they said to call for quicker results. So I called and they were able to schedule an appointment with me. (They offered me two choices- 1) to come do estimate and assessment only or 2) come and do the work the day I schedule them. ) I chose the first option so I could hear their assessment of the three fruit trees (lemon, plum, and guava) we had in our garden. He came out and assessed. I was very impressed with his knowledge and experience. We scheduled the work to be done the next morning at 7 am. ! He came with his team and were able to trim and prune both the plum and lemon trees, and removed the guava tree which was old, not bearing fruit, was leaning over into our fence, and I was already debating to chop it down to a stump. (The day of the assessment, he inspected the guava tree and said if we just chopped it down, the roots would continue to sprout out more trees --similar to redwood trees and sequoias--and showed me the newly sprouting trees coming out. Yikes! He said in order to get rid of it, we need to remove the roots completely.) We decided to move forward with removing the entire guava tree. Everything they did, they did a fantastic job! Hernan and his team were efficient, professional, polite, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them with no reservations. His service was very reasonably priced and he was able to bundle it as a package, and get it done in 2 hours! read more

To all the home owners in Chula Vista, Higuera Tree Care services did an outstanding job. They removed all the trees in my front yard within a reasonable time. Employee Hernan came to my property and figured out the best course of action to get rid of the unwanted tree. Very pleased with their service. I had them come out to first quote the cost to trim huge eucalyptus trees encroaching on my property. Scheduled the appointment 2 weeks out and prior to them coming out we both verified what branches they will cutting down. I worked with Karla from scheduling, verifying and payment. No problems and great communication. The crew working on the trees were great, I communicated with them to verify the branches and were respectful of the property. They even cut a couple extra branches that were not on the original estimates as a nice gesture / courtesy. I highly recommend and would use them again. read more

It really pains me to write this review because I really wanted to support Higuera Tree Care (I believe in supporting Hispanic-owned family businesses). I originally requested bids from two companies, Higuera Tree Care and Robin Hilton Land & Tree Company. The work involved trimming 5 queens palm trees, removing an extra large birds of paradise and removing an elephant bush. Higuera Tree Care quoted me $1385 for this work and Robin Hilton quoted $1,300. I decided to go with Higuera despite the higher costs for the reason I mentioned above. The first thing to note is that when Robin Hilton sent me their quote, they noted that removing the Birds of Paradise would likely damage the irrigation system running through that area and that their quote included repairing the system. I then sent Higuera Tree Care an email asking if their quote included this and they never responded to my email. I let this slide and hoped for the best once they actually came to do the job. But the more concerning issue is that with the high winds and rain that happened a few days ago, one of the queen palm trees in my front yard essentially broke in half. I've had two professionals come out and take a look at it and they said that the issue was that whoever trimmed the tree last time trimmed it too much and in the wrong way. It is impossible, of course, for me to definitively state that this was the result of the poor job done by Higuera Tree Care, but it's worth considering that the palm tree had been there for over a decade withstanding similar wind and rain in the past. And, again, two separate professionals I brought out placed the blame squarely on the trim job done by Higuera Tree Care. So I basically ended up paying more for a job that didn't involve repairing the irrigation system and in all likelihood ended up costing me one entire palm tree that I now have to remove because it probably won't grow back. read more

We have a number of tasks that need completing so I wanted to test Higuera Tree Care capabilities on our bamboo before committing to more expensive work. Our bamboo needed a trim and clean up so we gave Higuera Tree Care the job after receiving several estimates. While the customer service (scheduling/payment) was on point, the actual work carried out was generally sloppy and I don't believe either of the workers had worked with Bamboo before. My primary issues is that a substantial amount of the waste was not taken away (their truck was too small), that a lot of old leaves were left inside the bottom of the bamboo (I had to ask them to remove it but they still didn't) meaning it appeared messy still, and that care was not taken to protect those bamboo stalks that were not targeted for removal. Many of the stalks we want to keep now have cuts from their chainsaws. You can see in the pictures how rough they left it and the waste they left behind. I think the guys were eager to move onto the next job instead of slowing down a little, taking care and completing a "proper job". Given we hired for them to clean and tidy the bamboo and I had to spend a few hours the next day cleaning up after them and finishing the job we paid for I just can't recommend them. read more

Unfortunately we were in need of removing a huge 100ft Norfolk Pine that was in our front yard. After researching many different companies (most with way higher quotes), we decided to go with Higuera Tree Care. They had all the needed certifications/licenses and had raving reviews, so we had high expectations. Let me say, they did not disappoint!! Hernan Jr and his crew did an amazing job. Both days of the job, they arrived promptly at 7am as scheduled. Every member of the crew was professional and very skilled. They worked quickly and carefully for a full 2 days to safely remove our tree. When they were finished, they cleaned up every trace of debris. Great company and a great crew! I had a bunch of trees in the back yard which were overgrown, getting close to power lines and the roof. I called out Higuera and they gave me a fair estimate and a day they could come out and trim the trees. I had Higuera do two separate jobs for me..I had a large rubber tree up against my house that needed to be removed, trumpet tree trimmed, bamboo trimmed removed..honestly too numerous to list and they did an outstanding job...I was impressed by their quality of work. So impressed with Higuera. We had several large trees with roots that have been digging up through our stamped concrete and causing cracks. The branches have also been rubbing against the house and windows. We had them come and remove these trees completely. They did the entire job, and trimmed trees in the back, in under 2 hours. Several guys came in large trucks and knocked the job out like it was nothing. They clean up when they are done, and you can't even tell they were here. The machine they used to dig out the stumps and grind the dirt really makes a big difference as well. They are really incredible and I recommend anyone that needs any kind of tree or branch work to use them. This is our second time using them and they have been awesome both times. read more

I've used Higuera Tree Care exclusively for our tree care. We have had a huge amount of Pencil tree (Euphorbia tirucalli) removed (never plant this stuff). We've sadly had a bunch of trees die due to a fungus, so they removed the tree and stump. We have some tall palm trees that we like to keep neat. He's basically a mountain climber sculpting with a chainsaw 2-5 stories up. We also had a palm stump removed 4' deep to make way for a foundation pour. Lots of brush and cactus also removed. Hernan is very easy to work with, quotes on the spot, and his crew attacks the work like a mob. They have done in a few hours some tasks that would otherwise take months on my own (if I could even do it), and would keep my green cans full indefinitely. They are probably more expensive than others, but getting the job done fast, and professionally is well worth it to me. If I ever had concerns about the outcome (I have not), I'm certain he would be on top of it right away. Hernan is not always on-site when the work is being done, so I would call him. side note: there are three Higuera tree companies listed, so confirming the one I'm looking for on Yelp is a chore. Now I can reference this review to be sure I'm calling Hernan read more
