One of the best little pizza shops around, I could live on their ranch great atmosphere in a cute neighborhood

Im not usually a Deep Dish Pizza/thick crust guy, I much prefer NY style pizza but this place is great. I've tried The Number Four (sausage and some other good stuff) and one of their daily rotating specials - the Pickle Rick and Mortydella with some pickled veggie, mortadella and salami, very tasty and love the name. Seems to be a mostly to go joint but they have a couple outdoor tables in addition to about 4 or so tables inside. Order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The pizzas were well-made and actually very tasty. You could order a regular size pie or a personal size. The personal one was enough to satisfy. I had a pepperoni pie, the kiddos wanted mushrooms and olives. The pizza was delicious. There definitely was a weird and quirky vibe to this place like most places in Portland. The woman at the counter was not rude but not overly friendly; she had the standoff personality common to this area. A real smile can go a long way! Overall a good place to go to. read more

Hands down best pizza in town... can't do much better than a tasty pizza coupled by homemade ranch. So perfectly named, Ranch pizza is notorious for their homemade ranch which is the best sidekick to their many delicious pies. Our go to is the #4. So many incredible flavors. Let's just dig right into the food... I order their #4 pizza quarter size $9.50. The pizza was not cooked at all. It was nice and doughy, the pizza was actually warm when she brought it to me. I couldn't even finished it. When I brought it in, I told the girl. Her respond was "ok". That was it. Now let get into the service...I think I was inconveniencing the girl that was taking my order, side note; I was the only person in the restaurant. Well you get the jest of it when I brought my pizza in and gotten the "ok" when I told her my pizza was well under cooked. Will never come to this place again especially when there are hundreds of other choices in Portland. read more

The district manager is a condescending asshole. We have been going to this location for years and the pizza always comes with more than the 2 very small sides of ranch. When we ask for another he wanted to charge us a dollar. I literally have never had that response at this location or any restaurant anywhere. I find it absurd that the pizza which is expensive to begin does not come with the appropriate amount of dressing and don't understand why a reasonable customer request was not resolved. The customer service was extremely poor and with so many other options take your business somewhere else. read more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL:/ I do not like to leave negative reviews ever ever ever ever ever ever... It was so bad once we opened the box. There was no cheese and I say no cheese. It was like somebody took. You could see their fingerprints in the sauce on the slice like they were pissed off , and then threw a handful of some sort of weird sausage on there, but when I say no cheese , I mean.... A cool pizza joint serving up Detroit-style pizza -- it was a fairly good spot. The pizza is affordable and easy to share with friends as well! They have two vegetarian options, so we were able to get a half-half split of the Cheese and Greek Veggie. The slices are SUPER filling so it's definitely great value. In terms of Detroit-style slices, not the top-tier but still satisfied the craving. The slices weren't as crispy as I'd hoped but the crust was still really tasty and I did like the vegetable toppings. I am a pizza fiend and Detroit style pizza has a special place in my heart so I am glad our friend recommended Ranch PDX and dare I say my now go-to for Detroit Style pizza! During this time they are offering delivery via Caviar app. Within the app they don't have the half/half options but you can easily indicate it in the description and they'll do just that. For our first time around we opted for half pepperoni and #4 to get a mix of a classic and one of their favorites. It was a nice balance to have both in the box as the pepperoni is a classic and you can't really go wrong and the #4 adds some nice heat with the chilis. It was nice to taste out the flavors of the #4 since you can't find this combo and the ricotta adds a nice balance to the chili and the saltiness of the sausage. The only thing I wish was that the chili sauce was spread out a little more so you can get it into each bite of the pie. Solid cheese crust on the sides and garlic pan crust flavor. Both flavors had a good ratio of ingredients and was super tasty - even the next day. will definitely be coming back to try their other flavors. Pop Pizza is usually our go to for this style of pizza, but I wanted to try something new. I'm going to start by saying I had low expectations, for no good reason, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. As always when trying somewhere new, I had to get a variety so I could see what they're all about. What I really loved about Ranch is that you can order quarter pizzas, so it's super easy to either try a little if everything or get just enough for one person. We tried the #4, pepperoni, Hawaiian, and cheese. All of them were delicious with the #4 being my favorite. The sauce is super flavorful and doesn't have that processed taste your big box pizza stores have, and the toppings brought me back to my favorite pizza places in NYC. The Hawaiian has bacon lardons rather than the standard Canadian bacon, which knocks it out if the park, along side roasted jalapeños which have the most delicious smoky-natural-sweet taste. We also ordered a salad, which was actually really amazing, especially for a pizza place. All dressings, ranch and the Italian that came with the pizza, were scrumptious. Whoa, I am obsessed with this place! I went back two days in a row. I had the pepperoni square and then the veggie. The squares are bigger than I thought they would be, and sliced in two. The crust was soft and pillowy, yet still crunchy on the edges and bottom. The cupped pepperonis were perfectly crispy with a perfect sauce to cheese ratio. The veggie pizza crust was slightly less crispy, but that is generally the case for veggie pizza. And their veggie pizza had a lot packed on. I honestly loved both of them so much. For crust, I would lean towards the pepperoni. But for toppings, veggie is always a fave for me and their toppings are amazing. Also, house ranch is amazing. Came in for lunch on a weekday and it was perfectly slow! I enjoyed not having to wait in line or fight crowds. The lunch combo is a great deal - $10 for a generous square of pizza, heaping serving of salad, and a drink! I loved the pizza - they call it "Detroit" style and I'm all in. The edges were crisp but the inside and top was soft and chewy. The fresh basil on the pizza gave it the perfect finish. I'll be back, trying new flavors. read more

If you think otherwise, you are probably one of those people who don't like pineapple on pizza and you shouldn't be leaving yelp reviews ya picky pony. I got a classic cheese slice. The dough is light and fluffy, I was doing a happy dance while I was eating and didn't notice until I saw a few people gawking at me. My only grumble is the ranch is a little too salty for my palate. Came here a couple of months ago and realized i didn't post a review. Really good Detroit style pizza. Cheese is baked into the crust, and cheesy crispy outside of it. If you've never had Detroit style its different as you don't see the cheese, but give it a couple of pieces. Tried it cold and almost liked it better. Couldn't tell you my favorite as I liked them all a lot. The #4 with sausage and ricotta cheese was phenomenal, but so was the Hawaiian with spam pineapple and chili oil. The pepperoni was perfect. Ranch PDX has my heart forever and always. They are the best pizza spot in Portland in my opinion. First, you bite into this pizza and your like wow this is a phenomenal pizza. And then. Yes. Do yourself a favor and get to Ranch PDX. Whether you dine in or have it delivered, it's all good. We had two pizzas delivered and needless to say, it was gone shortly thereafter. We got one pepperoni with ricotta and a cheese; both were delicious in their own ways. Pepperoni was mildly spicy and very flavorful. The crust is perfectly crispy and you MUST dip it all in their ranch. Everything is better with ranch. The cheese was a little more saucy and and equally as satisfying as the pepperoni. How did it take me this long to try this place??? :-) I placed a delivery order via Grubhub and it arrived within 30 minutes...Piping hot and delicious. They included a couple sides of the ranch dressing which I have to agree with some of the other reviews... It is the perfect addition to this amazing pizza. I imagine ordering the breadsticks with the ranch would just be perfect as well. The ranch sauce reminded me of the old-school buttermilk recipe uncle dan's. Not the hidden ranch variety. The salad was literally a box of raddiciio with a wedge of lemon and a container of parmasean and bread crumbs. Lowest effort possible put into this food. Fantastic! Thanks Ranch Dekum! The Number 4 was a wonderful heavenly surprise for my husband tonight! It was delish! Even though we both had dinner earlier this was an after Dashing treat. The Sicilian crust was perfectly crispy on the edges and pillows in the middle! The only grease was just a wee touch of orange oil from the chilies! Ohhhh yeahhh! The sausage was crumbled nice and tiny but with a perfect amount (not huge clumps)! And the ricotta was creamy and fresh! Give me more of this pie!
