I had an appointment scheduled at 5, and I was coming from work across town. As you know in Houston, traffic is terrible at this time. I was called by the office and told if I was not there in 5 minutes, that they would reschedule me. There is a 15 minute grace period, and I was signing in at 5:14. By the time the lady acknowledged me she said I would have to reschedule because it was 5:16. The energy the doctor gave me was that she was ready to leave or I had to pay to make her stay. In all my years of being a customer here I have never experienced this. I understand the importance of being on time, but life happens and there are policies in place. If you say there is a 15 minute grace period, you should honor that.

Selecting the right glasses was also a breeze and the optician who helped me was very friendly but I have one complaint, and that is you all need to at least inform me when you are experiencing a delay or issue with my eyeglasses. I had to have someone on my behalf contact you all as I was unable to contact them myself. And please try to provide an estimated time in a timely manner because it has been over three weeks since I had placed my order... I really need my glasses soon. All I ask is for better communication between you all, the lab that makes the glasses, and me, the patient. Thank you. Edit-- I received an update on the glasses and it turned out that there was an issue with the anti glare coating not passing inspection, which is completely understandable. After all, they need to make sure everything is up to par. I'm glad they took that extra step to make sure my glasses would be not only up to my standards but up to theirs. And I'm pretty impressed by that attention to detail. Now I'm looking forward to getting my glasses!

First, they try to sell you on this additional dilation exam for an extra like $50-60 that is cash pay only. I kept pushing the issue and wasn't told until the optometrist came in (my third point of contact during my visit) that I was told that there is an option to have the test done and that insurance DOES cover it, but you have to get eye drops instead of the other method. Different process, same results...ones free and one isn't. I don't like it when businesses do things like this. Give me my options up front and let me decide. Secondly, I don't like the fact that they deal with patients eyes without gloves. This is extremely unsanitary and I was grossed out when the tech that administered my eye drops had long fake nails and touched my face/eye lids with no gloves. And I was more shocked that the doctor came in and did the same. They did both get a squirt of hand sanitizer, however THAT IS NOT ENOUGH when dealing with someone's body, especially EYES. I am also in the wellness field and I would never disrespect myself or clients by not wearing gloves. I get that it is an additional expense to purchase so many gloves, however passing norovirus or RSV is also expensive. Almost all the techs had long fake nails and no gloves in sight. Staff very friendly, however I will drive further in the future to find another Visionworks.

On my first visit, Belinda greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism. She walked me back to the treatment room, took my vitals, and took the time to listen -- really listen -- to my medical history, my reasons for seeking a new physician, and my goals for improving my health. She related to me as a whole person, not just a chart. Phenomenal care. My wait to meet Dr. Ani was short, and when she entered the room, her bright presence immediately put me at ease. She exudes compassionate concern in her bedside manner. Dr. Ani is patient, thorough, and considers all the information provided to her alongside current research and best practices. Over the past couple of months, I've had several appointments and have needed to reach out to the office for various reasons. Scheduling is quick -- appointments are set within weeks, not months. When I call, I reach a live person after just one automated prompt. If the office needs to return my call, the response comes within hours, not days. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quickly medical documentation was completed. I can honestly say I did not expect to need this level of medical support when I first sought out a primary care physician, but Macie Medical Group has more than risen to the occasion. They have exceeded every expectation.
