Open M-F 10:00 - 4 and Saturday (I forget) but similar times. So unless u work in the area the only day u can go here is Saturday. I'm not the easiest to please with subs, but we were in the northern burbs for a baseball game and we wanted to try something new. My husband and I loved the place and saw some good reviews so we decided to head over, after the game. Walking in, there was a note on the door that said they were closing at 1 for the Labor Day Holiday and it was about 12:39. The owner was behind the counter and I asked if we were too late, if we wanted to eat in, and she said that she put the sign up so that she could get out earlier, but that all was good. She asked if we'd ever been there before, and when we told her we hadn't, she told us to take our time checking out the menu board but that we should know that we each got a free shake (let me tell you, teens and tween that were with me, very happy with that). So we all got our sandwiches... and they were quite good. The only complaint I would give was that I got the BBQ Beef, and the beef was too wet for my liking... but the flavor was spectacular! LOVED the sauce and loved the beef... Honestly, there were no real complaints because the food was really good! Couple of things I want to note: (i) the individual who reviewed Rammy's yesterday is DEAD WRONG on the size of the sandwiches! They were absolutely NOT smaller than Potbelly, unless you get the Big there... and if you're not ordering the regular size from another place, don't bother comparing and (ii) I am all in on going to family owned businesses! This may be similar to Potbelly, but as someone who frequented that establishment before they were a chain, i would like to point out the mass production often lowers both the quality and the interest... so I found a more than suitable replacement for my toasted sub cravings and have the benefit of it being locally owned and operated! We will absolutely be back when in the area... and we're absolutely likely to check out the Elk Grove location sometime too. read more

Diana and her staff are amazing- They have made my job easy when catering for my company. The sandwiches are reasonable and very tasty. Gotta try out the cold pasta and cold potato salad yummy but it's in the fridge and not near the sandwich assembly. Before I start, let me preface my review by saying that I absolutely LOVE Rammy's. I visit their Elk Grove location quite frequently since it's close to work. Today I walked in and heard one of the guys tell the other employees "We just ran out of pickles. So, unless someone wants to slice some up, we're out." I'm not a big fan of a lot of things on my sandwich, and pickles is one thing that I love on my sandwiches. My husband had a reuben and wanted extra pickles. So the 2 of us ended up with sandwiches not exactly fulfilling, and I'm not one to walk out after they've already made the sandwich. But if you know that I overheard you, and I asked for pickles, that leaves a bad impression. Didn't even offer to go back and "slice some up". Even if I walked out, a lash would not even be batted over it. Just a shame. read more

This is a wonderful place to go for lunch. I can't rave enough about their banana smoothie which always hits the spot in the summer. My only qualm is that the sandwiches are pretty huge for someone looking to eat a bit lighter. With that said, I wish they'd consider offering lighter fare in addition to wraps and lettuce wraps, or at least half-orders/skinny versions of their sandwiches. As a small business, they could also benefit from offering a loyalty program of some sort. I feel like they have a lot of potential if they tweak a few things. read more

Not sure what was going on there. First time there. 2 teenage boys working and the lady who seemed like in charge. I ordered a sandwich from one of the boys and he made the sandwich and slid it down to where I would assume someone to add the lettuce and stuff on it. Well, no one ever did that. I just kind of stood there for 10 minutes while the other young guy checked someone out and the lady ran around talking about everything instead of making my sandwich. I finally gave up and walked out. I guess they were busy filling a lot of phone orders but take care of the in person customers first. I had one sandwich! Oh well. Best sandwiches in the area. The ingredients are always fresh and the bread is awesome- none of that flimsy garbage other places use. The hours are a bit weird, but we usually come here on Saturday. By far the best Italian beef I've had anywhere. I think my favorite is the ultimate sawhorse, but I've had other sandwiches that are equally delicious. Their specials are always interesting too. Some people feel the counter help is rude but a couple of guys I know are holding a grudge because they suspended their "free sub for frequent diners" program without giving notice. However, the sandwiches are fine. A bit like Quizno except with less style. Storefront type restaurant with plain formica tables. They build sandwiches pretty much the way you want it, heat the thing in an impeller oven and top it to order. This is basic college food, pretty good but nothing outstanding. Prices seem a bit high for what you get too. The #5 Rammy's Rueben is the most delicious sandwich ever. I've tried to get other sandwiches, but honestly, it's the best rueben in the suburbs. In terms of venu: the restaurant is construction themed (sub contractors - get it?) and they do well to incorporate the theme. There's a decent amount of seating inside but it can get crowded. This sub shop is a favorite for most of the local high schools, with students traveling 15+ minutes during their lunch hour to get a bite of Rammy's. But it's definitely worth it. Really cool place. The menu takes a bit of getting used to the menu and the one behind the counter is a bit busy. I've been there enough now to know my way and get to what I want. Lunches can be busy, but the line moves pretty efficiently. The pricing is about $8-$9, which is fine by me. Better sandwiches than chain sub shops and it appears to be locally owned, which I'd rather support. I took a shot at a chicken flatbread with just about everything on it. Not something I'd ever order anywhere, but this placed earned me trying something out of my comfort zone. It turned out to be very good! This is a good sandwich place if you don't want a chain restaurant like Potbelly or Panera. I always get the turkey sandwich. One time I wanted the pizza sandwich but wanted a lot of alterations made to it, and the worker was so nice and accommodating to my wishes. The only reason this place gets stars is the food. The sandwiches are phenomenal. I can't find a sub better, it's that simple. They are missing 3 stars due to the service. It is impossible to find out their hours of operation, and even when you do find them (through Yelp, Google, or their poor website) the hours are usually incorrect. For being such a popular sub shop their hours are very inconvenient. Then we get to the employees. The woman I believe to be the owner is so very kind and lively. After dealing with her I can see why Rammy's became many people's favorite. The younger employees, I believe high school students, have poorer attitudes than DMV employees. They also tend to get a simple sub order wrong somehow. Or they have to ask you your order repeatedly as it seems they don't care. Granted they are young and lacking professionalism, it doesn't excuse their gloomy look and complete lack of a welcoming smile.
