We were craving dumplings and thought we knew exactly where to go for them but, we had a vegetarian in our group and the place we picked did not have that options. So I went to the Yelp app and searched for nearby restaurants and landed on Ramen Lab. I've had this place bookmarked for a while so to me it was a win-win. My vegetarian friend would get to satisfy her cravings and I would finally get to try this place. We arrived and noticed the inside is small and a bit crammed, especially the "bar- seating" area. There were some spots available at the bar bat but where located exactly where the food was being served so that wouldn't be comfortable. We sat outside. Nothing special, just some tables but thankfully covered, which is good in case of rain or extreme hot weather. You can pick a menu and bring to your table or review it when you come in. The orders are placed at the counter, and then the server will bring it out for you. You can obviously add more items to your order later and they will bring your check at the end of your meal. As mentioned we ordered dumplings (or gyoza). Vegetarian version for my friend, which she loved and ate the entire plate (4pcs), and pork ones to share (5pcs/ plate). So far we are happy! For main course we ordered the vegan ramen, Tonkotsu ramen, and I got the Shoyu Ramen with pork belly. We were all quiet for the rest of the meal, each enjoying our flavorful, comforting, big bowl of ramen. To us this was a perfect meal! I honestly love this place but after what we experienced tonight I might have to question coming back here. We have ordered three ramen bowls from which one of them (kimchi and chicken ramen) was extremely salty to the point where it was un edible. I tried to eat it but the saltiness did not let me enjoy my dish, just to make sure I made my friends try it as well and the saltiness was confirmed. We communicated with our waiter named Jake, however nothing was done about the dish, I would have expected to be asked for a different dish or some sort of discount instead we were fully charged for a dish I was not able to have. Ramen came with a glob of spaghetti noodles, pork belly that was burnt and needed a knife - not provided- to cut through. It comes with half an egg and you have to pay $2 for an extra one! I was willing to overlook that, but the fact that it came with very little broth and that they were unwilling to add some unless we paid extra is unacceptable. My fiancée and I have had this place bookmarked for a while and finally made the drive up to try it out. I had the 5 Spice Duck Ramen. The broth didn't taste like much, but once i added some spicy sauce the flavors tasted really good! Unfortunately there was a lot of fatty duck pieces that I couldn't eat. My fiancée had the shoyu ramen with chicken that tasted really good! We both swapped our noodles to udon, I think they make them onsite. I like that there are many options to upgrade your ramen. I absolutely love their seafood ramen. They are generous with the seafood and it's always fresh. I don't order anything else besides wine and water. I always custom my order - I add spicy kimchi and ask for no bok choy or bean spouts. At first I was adding spicy chili flakes with my order to make the ramen spicy however after I started ordering to add the kimchi it eliminated my need for the chili flakes and took the dish to the next level for me. The scallops are huge and always cooked nicely. They also have jumbo shrimp that is also always cooked nicely. Calamari is added and it's a hit or miss sometimes. Sometimes they are cooked a little rubbery but that's rare. I would say I've had this order about 20 times and had to deal with the calamari being cooked rubbery about 3 times. I've ate inside the establishments, on their patio, order to go, and from Uber eats. It never disappoints and is my favorite go to spot for seafood ramen. read more

Mhmm chef's kiss ‍ ( I try to limit the soy I eat but the tofu skin is honestly so yummy so I make an exception) They have a couple of vegan options it's pretty limited but they do also have tons of nonvegan options. Its perfect if you're going with a group of vegan/nonvegan people or if you're just in the mood to munch out on a huge bowl of vegan ramen and be satisfied. Both locations near me (Boca and Delray) are great for dining in, but honestly just to let you guys in on a little secret ........I love ordering it for pick up just so I can go home get comfy & enjoy my ramen while watching anime. Awesome little eatery that specializes in different kinds of ramen, donburi and poké. It's located near Mizner Park and the parking situation of that plaza might be limited if you go at a busy time. If you want that nice walk, I recommend parking across the street in one of the garages. My order was a pick up option. I was shopping near by so this was easily available to take with me home. I ordered the vegan ramen bowl option. It consisted of veggie broth, bok choy, cauliflower, soft tofu, corn, bean sprout, mushroom, scallion etc. I'm so glad they have a veggie broth option because I eat halal or vegetarian options always. The noodles were great and later I found out they make them in house. Side Note- If you like spice, make sure to take some spicy sauce and chili from the side counter area. I used to come here frequently up until recently because I've seen a drastic change in the food quality and prices...I've been getting the same bowl for years and the pork has gotten fattier and the broth has been tasting old. The tonkotsu has an excess layer of oil that makes it hard to enjoy. Service has stayed the same. They changed the decor a bit but it's all the same. Two workers were arguing about the music playing. My friend and I got an order of bulgolgi and pork belly bao, pork gyoza, chashu pork miso ramen and an order or chicken karaage. Bulgolgi bao was really good! The meat was cooked well and the topping were on point! It needed a touch more seasoning. It also wasn't Korean bulgolgi, but it was still yummy! The pork belly bao was cooked very well! The meat melted in my mouth! It was seasoned very well and the pickled veggies added a nice touch! However, both baos were served about room temperature. I expected them to be both hot. Maybe that's just how they serve them? Pork gyoza was pork gyoza. Nothing too special about them. But the presentation was pretty! These were also served room temperature. I just like my food piping hot when I get it because it means it was made fresh. Chicken karaage, freshly fried and piping hot when I got them! So yummy!!! My favorite dish that we ordered! I wasn't a fan of the aioli but I just mixed together some soy sauce and their home made chili paste to create my own. YUM! The ramen was ok, in my opinion. The broth just tasted off. I wasn't a fan. Maybe the base is weird? It doesn't taste like miso ramen. I wonder if it's a different miso paste they use. Not sure. The chashu pork was also chewy and tough. It is supposed to melt in your mouth and be tender if cooked correctly. I don't know why the pork belly in the bao came out super tender but the pork in the ramen didn't. But I wouldn't get ramen here, personally. All the tapas are really good for the most part anyways! Overall the food was really good! My main comment was the temperature and the ramen. Service was great! Cashier was happy to answer my questions and offer his suggestions. He even told us about happy hour and what the popular menu items were. I actually have a couple people come up to me to ask how we were doing! Very friendly and helpful staff! It is a very cute place! With chalk drawings and nice atmosphere. For what you can get in Boca, this place was great! In my opinion the ramen preparation here was decently authentic, no unusual toppings (they were good, loved the egg!), soup was good, and the noodles to soup ratio was perfect. I had Miso ramen (my personal favorite) and my husband had his Tonkotsu ramen with the pork. My mild miso ramen came with a lot of chili oil, which I loved personally, but I couldn't share much with my small children who were expecting their portions. There was chili in my husband's Tonkotsu ramen as well so if spicy isn't your thing make sure you have the chili oil omitted. We were initially really turned off and avoided this place when it first came out because their menu said "Tonkatsu ramen" (instead of TONKOTSU ramen) and reviewers were raving about the tonkatsu ramen. No, we were not interested in tonkatsu (panko-crusted pork) ramen or going to a place that misspells tonkotsu (pork bone soup). It seems liked they've really revamped this place (based on what I had previously seen on their website menu) and was happy to see that they corrected their spelling of Tonkotsu, because the ramen was actually yummy! read more

I ordered the medium spicy miso ramen that has chicken broth, miso, soft boiled egg, bamboo shoot, corn, scallion, kikurage mushroom, and nori with the korean short ribs option. Let me say... delicious... and, I was hesitant- bc, at first it looked like a franchise with not Asian chefs... I was completely wrong and thankful for this wonderful meal paired with choya umeshu (fabulous plum wine). Every staff member here is extremely attentive and when someone walks through the door they say variations of irasshaimase and when folks leave they always say variations of arigato & see you soon... Also, I thought it sweet that when taking the order they are always considerate and ask every person if it is their first time here, and explain the menu in detail... welcoming each person again. This place has vegan options, gluten fee options, and my favorite - lots of different sake options, along with really great beer on tap and plum wine. Additionally, this is a locally owned business and while the owners are Thai.. they hired a Japanese consultant to give their business the authenticity it deserves... It was a rainy evening when we were driving around looking for something to eat. Not much is open these days and if they are, they tend to close early. We saw the open sign on and decided to give it a try. After my husband placed the order we sat in the car and waited for them to bring out our food. They offered to do this after my husband paid and asked, how long will it be. The wait was exceptionally long. I truly believe they forgot. I'm being generous with this 4 star review only because of our current circumstances and having some understanding of what it takes to run a restaurant during a pandemic. I'm happy to re-review a spot we hit last night, Ramen Lab, one of the best Ramen spots in all south Florida. I will get the negative part out of the way. Well I couldn't get them on the phone for the life of me. I just wanted to make sure they were open during these crazy days and that their menu was still intact. I checked the website and they appeared to be open. Their website also only seemed to show to-go kits to make your own ramen at home. That's sure not what we wanted. We drove there with hopes they were open. Bazzinga! They sure were open and they took our orders as we walked up. We brought home some Tonkotsu and some pork gyoza. I think that's the thing we order almost every time. They give you cardboard to go bowls and I have never been a fan of eating out of them. But I had a plan and we had to nice ramen bowls at the house to transfer the soups to. It was a fantastic dinner as it always is from the Ramen Lab.
