Great service! Excellent pork gyoza's, first time having beef bulgogi gyoza's which were so delicious. Sadly the 2 Ramen's were so bland that water has more flavor. The homemade ginger beer could have used a lot more raw ginger to give it a kick. Nice place inside but sadly it didn't deliver.

I love my ramen as much as I love my mama and this ramen is hands down the best ramen I have ever had in my life. I read that the owner of the shop studied ramen for 12 years in Japan and came back to Scotland to show it the beauty of ramen. Living in Vegas, there aren't that many great ramen places, and Ramen Dayo definitely tops the best one here in Vegas in my opinion. I ordered the Tonkotsu Miso and added in some Aji-Tama and Spicy Ground Pork. The umami of the bowl was amazing and it was so good I had to clean bowl. The noodles were soft and delicious, Aji-Tama was soft and rich, and don't get me started on that broth. The broth was heavenly and I wish I could've taken some back home. I would definitely come back here in the future.

These guys are no longer at 73 Queens Street but a block down the road towards St. Enoch's with a street front. The decor is great. You feel like you are in an Izakaya in Japan albeit a lot more spacious. It is not bad for ramen in Scotland. We had the tonkotsu and the chashu don. The ramen had a great bite to it. The broth for the tonkotsu is a lot less flavourful than what I am used to eating in Japan. It almost tasted like a chicken broth which was disappointing. The chashu don is good value even though it's a small bowl. Overall a good Asian food find in Glasgow.

Amazing food! I'm still not over the deliciousness of the ramen. I ordered the shiitake x porcini ramen & added a soft boiled egg + sprouts -- ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. 100% will be back. My boyfriend ordered the devils ramen & loved it. The edamame started was yummy also. That flaky sea salt I've had a lot of ramen and this is the best I've ever

Took awhile to find it, you actually have to go downstairs from a bar. I got the charcoal miso ramen and it was luke warm when I got it :( noodle was pretty good and you can tell it was fresh. But the broth was too fatty for my liking. Because the gyoza was so yummy, that's why I bumped it up to the 4 stars!!!

I'm asian dude and finished whole bowl of ramen. What else you need to know. Great service, awesome food (Ramen & Dumplings), nice vibe and interior and reasonable price.

Delicious, and a cool vibe in the restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff and good vegetarian and vegan options too. Recommended.

What I mean by cold is that the staff members are completely unwelcoming and insincere with their service! Let's begin the story. So Gian and I were looking for a place to eat after spending the whole day walking about Glasgow. We ended up at Wudon for some odd reason; it wasn't my first choice but I figured we should give it another go to see how it's been like. Upon arrival, we were "greeted" by the owner (I think) of the restaurant, who had a chronic grumpy face. Like he literally had a deep dent in between his eyebrows from frowning! He seated us at a four-persons table beside the kitchen entrance and disabled elevator ... No it was not a comfortable place. I insisted on moving to a different table once one freed up, and we eventually did. There were 2 waitresses serving and they just seemed stressed out like 80% of the time and always seemed like they were in a rush! Ok I get that it's a Sunday night and you're busy but this is the hospitality industry, you should at least pretend like you care about how you're making your customers feel! A smile would help too? The food was delicious tho! Me and Gian had the Tom yam udon with prawn and edamame on the side. They made a great broth and it was big in portions too so at least this saved this experience. Gian also tried the rice green tea which he really liked! Altogether it was about £11 per person which is not too bad. But again, I'm not a fan of the cold behaviour! If the staff members have a black stormy cloud hovering over their heads, obviously that cloud transfers onto their customers! Overall is give Wudon a 3.5 but since .5 doesn't exist, a 3 it is!

The place is pretty plainly decorated but in a nice, clean way. We ordered a bunch of the wee dishes to share: Heung Dai Gee (£6.00) - scallops with garlic, soy & coriander served on the shell. Teriyaki Beef (£5.50) - marinated pieces of sirloin beef with teriyaki sauce. Ga Lay Kwok (£4.50) - parcels filled with tender chicken, potato & onions in a mild curry sauce. Saw Choi Tempura (£4.50) - aubergine, sweet potato, mushroom, asparagus & Japanese soba noodles in tempura batter. Sake Sashimi (£5.80) - slices of raw salmon served with daikon hair, pink ginger and wasabi. All of these dishes were really good with the exception of the beef which just didn't taste like very much at all. Thankfully the scallops and the chicken parcels made up for it as these were both amazing. I also wolfed down the sashimi and really liked it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and came back to check on us and take more drinks orders regularly. We ordered some more food once we'd finished as Graeme was coming to join us, and when we got the bill for three adults and drinks it was around £20 each, which I thought was pretty good for the amount we ate! Pretty decent Japanese food and I'd definitely make a return visit to try some more of the small plates.

It is picture pretty but that is about it. This place was recommended by our friend's 25 year old kid (whose palette is still young). The decor is beautiful and the inside is cozy and intimate. I ordered the seafood pho. It had no depth to it. It was missing that umami flavor. The broth was watery. It was missing the mint and the Thai basil. I ordered it #2 spicy and it was not spicy at all. We asked for some Fish sauce and they had no idea what we were talking about (which should have been a red flag) so then we asked for Hoisin sauce and they didn't have that either, they offered us soy sauce and we accepted that. Anything to bring some flavor to our pho. They ran out of chicken and (the night was still young) so my friend had to order the beef pho. He said his was okay- this was his first time having pho so he had nothing to compare it to. The service was mediocre. We had to ask them to bring us utensils. We had to ask them again to bring us napkins. It took them forever to ask us what we wanted to drink after they sat us down. To be honest, it was overpriced for the quality of food that was served. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic pho in Glasgow. This is a very instagram/influencer spot for pretty food pics/decor and that's about it. I would not go back.

We stumbled upon this location after looking for a place near our AirBnB for some Sushi. We tried to reserve a table online via their website but it didn't work. So we decided to instead walk a mile to their restaurant to see if we could get a table - or even sit outside if we had to - knowing there would probably be a bit of a wait. When we got there I entered the restaurant with my son who is 3 in a stroller and immediately was greeted by a Redheaded woman who smiled at me like I had 3 heads. I then asked kindly for their availability and explained my situation and the woman scoffed at me - as if I was stupid to even ask the question - to which she then turned her iPad around and showed a list of Reservations. I actually managed to point to my reservation that via the website had not seemed to schedule correctly - to which she aggressively said "well there's nothing we can do'. Right as I turned to leave the restaurant the rest of my party trickles in and asks if we can eat outside - One of the kind waitresses said "sure" to which she set us up outside. We ordered 3 bottles of Sake and they were £24 for 300ml bottles. We had hoped that they might be worth the price but unfortunately they weren't much better than what you can get from a CoOp with a liquor license. The Shrimp Ramen was fantastic and the sushi tasted great but was really overpriced for the quantity which they give you. Overall I totally get the lack of vacancy for a popular spot - but being scoffed at as you gently inquire about availability was really off putting. Even eating there despite it was difficult - and the alcohol/sushi being overpriced. Would not recommend. The sushi quality and the waitresses efforts are the only reason it's not 1/5.

I will definitely be back to try their buckfast shake . --- Came back the next day because I wanted to get their extremely limited goth dessert again which they were sold out of . Sad . But at least I had the chance to take advantage of their £4 Tuesday burger meal deal . I added caramelized onions for an extra pound but would recommend springing for the cheddar cheese or bacon for an extra £2 which is still a good deal ! As the the taste ? It's £4 burger with fries . No complaints ! As for the buckfast shake ...what an interesting concoction . It's strong ...I can only imagine what having straight buckfast would be like ..I'm glad my first time was in shake form as I'm sure the cream and milk toned down the alcohol and sharpness a lot . The overall flavor really grows on you . It reminds me of like a Neapolitan shake ( heavy on the chocolate and strawberry and no vanilla ice cream ) with a crap ton of added fermented strawberries and maraschino cherries and maraschino cherry syrup . If I was the chef I'd tweak this by adding a rum flambé banana slice or just banana in general would be so nice . I like this place a lot and would low key love to be a business partner or be able up a similar place in the States . Definitely a gem in Glasgow.

This was one of the first restaurants I dined at in Glasgow with my now husband after our fateful meeting in Japan, so it is very special to the both of us. I'd hopped on a plane to the other side of the world to visit a man I'd known for 14 days, fell in love and moved here. We've returned here loads of times since then, but I haven't been to Nanakusa for nearly a year. In my endless quest of eating out as many places in Glasgow as possible, sometimes the real gems get left behind for the new and exciting places. I was so glad to return last night for a UYE and see that nothing has changed since I first fell in love with Nanakusa (I was already in love with my husband by the time we ate here!) Now, Nanakusa. It does Japanese food, and it does it really well (see the aforementioned reference to meeting my husband in Japan!). I really love sashimi and there aren't enough places in Glasgow that I can eat it, so I always get a portion when I eat here. I also love takoyaki (octopus balls) and can't resist them here. I've tried them elsewhere but Nanakusa's are the best. The service is always friendly, smiling and helpful. It was a little slow last night but there were only two people working the whole restaurant, but none of us were in a particular hurry. I had a small glass of rosé with my meal and they also have a selection of saké and plum wines, as well as Japanese beers for that really authentic taste. The food arrived quickly and as soon as it was ready. Two people had ordered bento boxes and these arrived about 5 minutes after everything else. The waiter seemed really conscious of this and kept coming over which was a nice touch. I loved all my dishes, the takoyaki and salmon sashimi and I also had the chicken teriyaki. Sides like rice and noodles are optional which is great if you're all about the protein. Downsides? As I said, service was a bit slow. I'm also not a big fan of the lighting (the wall panels change colour) as it makes it hard to take nice food photos! Haha! Bench seating can be difficult to navigate getting in and out of gracefully. None of these points are worthy of a star deduction in my mind though as the food is so damn good, I can excuse it all. Thanks Nanakusa for being just as amazing as you were 4 years ago.
