I love Nanasuka. I love Japanese food. This place is fast, furious and fabulous! It feels like a blend of Tokyo's Akihabara district meets the Glasgow West End. The restuarant is set in an amazing room with minimalist tables and a mezzanine area for private dining. You enter the restaurant and see the frantic chefs making miniture Japanese creations but then you enter this open tabled area where the walls change colour and a long benched table in the centre of the room - reminds me of the psychedelia of Akihabara at 1AM! Nevertheless, the food is devine, good quality and scrumptuous. Don't be decieved by the pictures and menu descriptions, the portions are huge! I ordered a bento box and my other half had the chiilli chicken on rice. Both came out quickly and thank goodness because I was famished! For my bento box, 5 side plates arrived with my very large bento box itself. There was more sushi, yakitori, rice, miso, tempura and sauces that one could really eat and not explode. Nanasuka is great for a quick cheap Japanese meal. It's good - honestly! Just ignore the lady dressed in the kimono and walks around with a waddle. She's more for comical effect than authenticity.

Nanakusa is just kind of a strange place isn't it? A japanese restaurant with such strange interior architecture and weird colourful ever-changing wall lights that make it seem like an 80s disco. I dunno ... just ... weird. Anyway, went over for some Japanese food the other day! Was having such a strong craving for it and was hoping to fulfill it but ... meh ... ? We ordered the 18 piece sushi set, the prawn tempura, takoyaki and edamame with green tea (which is bottomless). Nanakusa's food does not cut it out for a person who is majorly obsessed with anything Japanese. The sushi was alright, though the tuna nigiri didn't seem fresh. The prawn tempura was kind of miserable, since they only gave us like 3 small pieces of fried up prawn (it tasted alright but I wasn't expecting the small size). The takoyaki was the biggest disappointment though. Octopus balls are suppose to be fresh, flavourful and with a reasonable chunk of octopus in the centre, but this was just ... well seemed like frozen food thrown into a frying pan and served up to us. The only pretty good things were the edamame (which no one can cook wrongly) and the bottomless green tea. Service was good though! The waiters were very kind. Anyway, the price for the food was not worth it to be honest. It's too bad.

Nanakusa was the setting for a nice wee yelp get together the other night, and having never been, I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience there! As soon as Colin and I walked in we were immediately welcomed by the friendly staff and shown to the table where the others were waiting. Drinks were taken efficiently and we were given plenty of time to order, which we took advantage of cause we chatted for most of said time! I ordered the chicken and veg skewers in a yakitori sauce to start, and then duck breast with sesame seeds in a teriyaki sauce for my main. In normal Asian style, the food is brought out as and when it's ready, instead of starter then main, so out table ended up getting a bit hectic! The food in here is absolutely amazing. On top of my own food, I tried some of Briony's takoyaki, or octopus balls, and they were absolutely delicious as well. Pretty sure I'll be venturing back in here - everything just looks so tasty!

As the husband of a west coast Canadian girl i constantly have to listen to the complaints about the quality and availability of good seafood/sushi in Scotland, probably true but to be honest, the closest i get to sea food is eating some chips and looking at the goldfish in its tank. The female one however is a die hard fish-a-holic and a full fee paying member of F.A.G, the fish-eaters anonymous group, and welcomes any opportunity to dine on anything that lives in water, i bath quickly and secretly just to avoid awkwardness... Having tried most of the Japanese rest's in town over the last few years, she was delighted to see another open on Sauchiehall street and dragged me burger in hand into this wee place. On arrival to Nana Kusa you are welcomed by, well, welcoming staff, very friendly and help full. The interior itself is just great, surprisingly big, the main dining area has lovely high ceiling with original features, skylights and lighting fixtures. the central piece ti the room however is the main lighting located on the walls, which are panels of coloured lighting which alter every now and them. You may think this would be annoying but its not and i think add to the nice buzzy friendly atmosphere throughout. In terms of the grub i would have to say no complaints from me. A good selection of meat and veg options with little pictures to help you decide (would you buy a house without seeing it first?) I also like the open plan kitchen idea which alto of the Japanese places do, it adds to the feel of a place i think. Anyway, i plumped for the curry and the female went for the usual assortment of fish, with fish and a side of fish. All very tasty and beautifully presented. Well, there you go. despite some rather lack lustre reviews of this place from other sources, i would have to give this place a definite two thumbs up. Great location, very funky decor and vibe, fantastic attentive service and kick ass grub....yum.

After a long day of crazy golf and pub crawling in a group of 12 and having just lost 4 people to the booze, the remaining 8 of us thought it would be wise to grab a bite to eat if we were to survive the rest of the night. Where does one go when you've been drinking for the past 7 hours or more? A really nice restaurant who just happened to have a massive table open in the middle of the place. Sounds wise. Once seated, one guy decided to order sake for the table, some of us ordered beers and most of us ordered/we given water. I was part of camp water as I wasn't too far in the barrel to realise that water was a great choice at the moment. After our drinks were served, we proceeded to look over the menu and order. My guy and I ordered a bit more than we probably needed to, but we'll just blame the booze. We started with some chicken gyoza. They were lovely and crisp and went down a treat. We then ordered some avocado sushi and some cooked eel sushi. Both really amazing, but a little too sparse for what we needed in our bellies. We both agreed that we probably wouldn't order sushi again, only because it never seems to fill us for what we get. For our mains we ordered the Chan Han which was a lovely rice dish filled with chicken, egg and veg. For sure the star of the night- we shared both dishes we ordered and this by far was our favourite. We also ordered the Yaki Noodle which came with both prawns and chicken, fishcakes and veg. Also very delicious! We didn't make that big of a ruckus but I'm mighty glad we came in to Nanakusa. I'm not the biggest fan of the club type atmosphere with all the weird blue lighting, but it's spacious enough and the staff are friendly. I was able to pay for our bill separately which was nice. We will definitly be back for another meal- there's so much to order that I want to try!

Is it 2.5 stars or 3 hmm..I guess that 3'll have to do as 2's too few eh.. I guess Sunday wasn't my day as sadly Nanakusa didn't stop the rot. I've eaten at their sister restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I was hoping for more of the same, but sadly found this to be quite a bland experience. I ordered 3 small plates, the agadashi dofu, sweet potato makimono & seaweed salad. While the dishes came quickly & were presented well, the execution wasn't great and the flavours were well.. meh. I went for the makimono first & found the sushi rice so soft, it was like I was biting into a food cloud, but then the filling didn't really taste of anything & was crispy.. Now I quite like food that makes your palate jump, whether it's contrasting flavours, heat or texture, but if this soft outer vs crispy inside was intentional, I fear I missed the point. Instead of "oooh interesting!" my brain was thinking "uhh what.." Next up I went for the seaweed salad, which was alright at first as I was eating mostly seaweed & a little iceberg lettuce, but the more I dug, the more I realised it was 80% iceberg, which isn't what I ordered sir! Add to that a general lack of flavour bar the umami of the seaweed and soy, there wasn't any acid or sweetness to balance it out. Lastly there was the agadashi dofu, which having recently called off hostilities with soy, I was really looking forward to. It was lightly fried, leaving the inside almost uncooked, and served in a soy based, tempura dressing. Sadly the lack of spring onions meant that there was nothing to counter the soy & because of the softness of the dofu & light tempura batter it all just fell apart after sitting in the sauce. I'm really not sure about the decor, it seems to be part traditional & part modern Japanese set within a beautifully corniced old building. The changing lights were kinda fun in a modern way, but set amongst the wooden panelling they seemed somewhat out of place. Not to begin & end on a moan, the staff were really efficient & friendly despite it being a quiet Sunday night. I was given plenty of time to peruse the menu & afterwards the service was swift & friendly. It's a shame that this occasion didn't live up to expectation. I've heard people say a lot of good things about Nanakusa, maybe I just made the wrong choices or it was an off night. I'd go back, but there are many more places higher up the list to try before I consider another sitting at Nanakusa, shame really..

I've been waiting to try Nanakusa for the longest time, it just never quite worked out. But tonight we were round the corner at The Mitchell and despite crazy parking, we made it! We didn't have to wait for a table and the staff were very attentive. The first thing that will strike you with Nanakusa is the decor/atmosphere. It feels like you're sitting in a wood panelled pod inside another, much older building with great cornices. It's odd. It works. Kind of. If you don't look to hard? The lighting panels were very funky though with their changing colours, great for mood setting, not so great for photos. The food was very prompt, maybe a little too prompt. We shared Yasi Gyoza which actually are some of the best I've had. Just the right amount of crispy edges. But then things started going down hill. Our main meals came out before the sushi was ready, which was fine. I ordered the Kyatsu chicken curry as per usual, and things looked okay. But as soon as I started eating I found hairs. Not just a single hair. Hairs. Plural. I called a waiter over immediately who beckoned the manager. She apologised profusely and took my dinner away and informed me a fresh one would be prepared. So I sat and watched my boyfriend eat his. Half way through his meal our sushi came out. I'd ordered the Chicken Maki. I wasn't impressed. Presentation, sure that was great, and it tasted...fine, not bad as such just bland. The rice to filling ratio was far too high and didn't taste of much else other than rice. My food finally came back out and yes it looked freshly prepared, but actually it was again quite bland. I managed to eat about half and we just left it; very disappointed. Although when we went to pay the manager advised us immediately that she had taken the meal off our bill which was really kind of her. Overall I was really pleased with the staff and even the venue, it's different, but the food was sub-par.

We have just been to nanakusa after a recommendation and yelps review I have to say we all loved it, and it was four of us. Since we did go a bit late, 21:00 there was not much people around and service was really fast and extremely friendly. I have to say the price was really nice for such a restaurant. You can go to way worse restaurants and pay more than here, it came out to 65 pounds for 3 starters, 2 maki rolls (8 pieces), 4 mains dishes, 1 desert and one big beer that was enough for the 2 ladies. We ordered the following - takoyaki: really well done with a lovely sauce, totally recommend. - Gyoza: some of the best I have tried, and I have been to japan. A bit dry but with soy sauce really nice. Not greasy at all and big. - California roll: typical California roll, really nice and good size, not like other places where they make the rolls smaller for the same price. - Ramen: three of us ordered ramen, 2 beef and one chicken. They were nice enough to make mine without veggies. The broth was really tasty and just spicy enough to feel it but to keep the required taste. It was really nice. Not the best I have ever had, which was in London, not even japan, but the 3 of us loved it . - Yasai sake gohan: basically salmon with a gravy, veggies and rice. My girlfriend had it. Her opinion is that it could have some more salmon and less veggies but the taste of both, salmon and gravy was really nice. The only downside would be the desert, we had a chocolate cheesecake and was nothing special, would not recommend it. Still, I give the restaurant 5 stars because I don't go to Asian restaurant for their desert, so I will still recommend going for everything else. Basically a really nice place, really nice atmosphere, friendly staff and really nice food and really good price for what u get, 15 pounds per head and we all finished well eaten. Try it!!

I recently dined here for a friend's birthday, and didn't really know what to expect - I'd heard mixed reviews, so I was slightly aprehensive. Fear not! I was not disappointed at all. From the minute we stepped into the restaurant, I immediately felt at ease - there's a great atmosphere, what with the buzz of conversation, and the sound of food cooking. The service was great, except there was a slight mix up of who's birthday it was (ahem) when the the waitress brought out the cake, but apart from that it was otherwise brilliant. I had a Bento box - I'd never had one before but it was fun - I had Bento B combo - I remember king prawn tempura and miso soup...and that's about it... sorry guys... It was definitely an experience. Price wise, it wasn't expensive, but it wasn't cheap either - I think that what you paid for what was you got though. All in all, I'd definitely go back - just for another Bento box....mmm....

As a fan of all things Japan, I was looking forward to this one but left slightly underwhelmed. The menu has a lot more on it than other Japanese places, from standard noodles / rice fayre to giant soups, raw fish, bento boxes and an a la carte section for more obscure treats. We ordered oysters in breadcrumbs to start that were ok but not as good as their slippery, raw cousins, and followed with a spicy chicken noodle soup and a chicken katsu curry. It's perhaps my fault for picking the most unimaginative dish on the menu, and the katsu itself was ok but for some reason the accompanying rice tasted a bit "off", though drowning it in the tasty curry sauce helped matters somewhat. Couldnt really complain about the massive soup dish, they were certainly generous with their portion size, and it was tasty enough, if a bit unmemorable. I did notice that the food on other diners' tables mostly looked far better than ours, notably the tempura and the fun looking bento boxes, so I'd be inclined to go back to see what else is on offer, but for now I'll just have to rate it in middle-of-the-road territory.

I went to Nanakusa for a friend's going away dinner (Going to Japan; how fitting!), and I absolutely loved it. The place is immaculate, first of all. Unlike most of the Chinese or Indian restaurants I've visited, it's very minimalist; I suppose probably like the Japanese culture. The menu was something else, lemme tell ya. I had absolutely no clue what to order, but the great thing was that my waiter was more than happy to go over it with me. And it was superb. Definately try this place, especially if you're tired of the old favourites. Try it anyway. Right. Now.

#100th Review. Boom. If you ask my friend what my most commonly craved foods are, they would probably mention Queso Fundido, Poutine (or Bread Meats Bread), Pizza, Risotto and Sushi, donuts. Don't ask them that. After having had quite a few conversations about this place, and really not knowing what to expect (other than sushi, obviously) my ballet buddy decided that it is time for her to try to become a "sushi person", so we decided to come here. Nanakusa is run by the same people as Nippon Kitchen, and so you know that you're in for some delicious food. That's exactly what it was too - delicious. And what's more important than the taste when it comes to sushi - it's fresh too. My friend and I ordered Edamame because they are amazing, and they came to us warm just like they should be. We also ordered the following sushi: ebi tempura maki, avocado maki (because basics and yummy! Duh, avocado is the best), cucumber maki, sake maki and kani karaage. Yes, we went a little overboard but the sushi is delicious. It's fresh and the rolls are massive (especially the deep fried California roll. Yum, by the way). The gyoza were also very tasty and I can recommend them. Now, when we walked through the door I was pretty surprised, I was not expecting that interior based on the wooden front outside. It's so quiet inside, and the wall lighting changes often, it has a very urban and hip vibe and as much as I like it, it's a nightmare to take good pictures of your food (I am a Yelper afterall). I loved how all the plates match each other and it makes the table look fantastic. The food is reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and you can see into the kitchen which is fantastic, but even with an open kitchen area, it is not smelly nor loud. I now know that less is more for the next time I am back.

As far as Japanese restaurants in Glasgow go, Nanakusa stood a good chance of being in the top 2. Though my expectations were not particularly high, I still found myself unimpressed. There is plenty to choose from on the menu, which is great to a point, but can make ordering a chore. If you are familiar with Japanese cuisine and prefer something a little more sophisticated than teriyaki chicken, Nanakusa is not the place for you. For first-time Japanese food goers however, the selection is good and pictures and descriptions on the menu will help you choose a dish or two. The bento boxes are a good option if you like to try a little bit of everything, but again, for more experienced diners they fall short of others I've experienced. The restaurant itself is pleasant enough, but errs on the side of trying too hard to be "stylish". The atmosphere they seem to be going for is modern and hip, like bars at Sex in the City with the most offensively inoffensive non-music imaginable. You know, those trance-but-not tracks that go on for hours, hoping to go unnoticed but fill a vacuum of silence? The service is decent, staff are used to first-time diners and keen to help you select a dish you will enjoy. The miso soup was pretty watery and overwhelmed with seaweed, little better than the type you can buy in a supermarket. I would recommend the tempura, and gyoza starters, and you can't go wrong with some edamame. I'd skip the sushi in favour of Oko Express or Yo Sushi. If you enjoy particularly noodles and rice dishes, or are a first-time Japanese diner, Nanakusa is a good choice.

What I mean by cold is that the staff members are completely unwelcoming and insincere with their service! Let's begin the story. So Gian and I were looking for a place to eat after spending the whole day walking about Glasgow. We ended up at Wudon for some odd reason; it wasn't my first choice but I figured we should give it another go to see how it's been like. Upon arrival, we were "greeted" by the owner (I think) of the restaurant, who had a chronic grumpy face. Like he literally had a deep dent in between his eyebrows from frowning! He seated us at a four-persons table beside the kitchen entrance and disabled elevator ... No it was not a comfortable place. I insisted on moving to a different table once one freed up, and we eventually did. There were 2 waitresses serving and they just seemed stressed out like 80% of the time and always seemed like they were in a rush! Ok I get that it's a Sunday night and you're busy but this is the hospitality industry, you should at least pretend like you care about how you're making your customers feel! A smile would help too? The food was delicious tho! Me and Gian had the Tom yam udon with prawn and edamame on the side. They made a great broth and it was big in portions too so at least this saved this experience. Gian also tried the rice green tea which he really liked! Altogether it was about £11 per person which is not too bad. But again, I'm not a fan of the cold behaviour! If the staff members have a black stormy cloud hovering over their heads, obviously that cloud transfers onto their customers! Overall is give Wudon a 3.5 but since .5 doesn't exist, a 3 it is!

The place is pretty plainly decorated but in a nice, clean way. We ordered a bunch of the wee dishes to share: Heung Dai Gee (£6.00) - scallops with garlic, soy & coriander served on the shell. Teriyaki Beef (£5.50) - marinated pieces of sirloin beef with teriyaki sauce. Ga Lay Kwok (£4.50) - parcels filled with tender chicken, potato & onions in a mild curry sauce. Saw Choi Tempura (£4.50) - aubergine, sweet potato, mushroom, asparagus & Japanese soba noodles in tempura batter. Sake Sashimi (£5.80) - slices of raw salmon served with daikon hair, pink ginger and wasabi. All of these dishes were really good with the exception of the beef which just didn't taste like very much at all. Thankfully the scallops and the chicken parcels made up for it as these were both amazing. I also wolfed down the sashimi and really liked it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and came back to check on us and take more drinks orders regularly. We ordered some more food once we'd finished as Graeme was coming to join us, and when we got the bill for three adults and drinks it was around £20 each, which I thought was pretty good for the amount we ate! Pretty decent Japanese food and I'd definitely make a return visit to try some more of the small plates.

We stumbled upon this location after looking for a place near our AirBnB for some Sushi. We tried to reserve a table online via their website but it didn't work. So we decided to instead walk a mile to their restaurant to see if we could get a table - or even sit outside if we had to - knowing there would probably be a bit of a wait. When we got there I entered the restaurant with my son who is 3 in a stroller and immediately was greeted by a Redheaded woman who smiled at me like I had 3 heads. I then asked kindly for their availability and explained my situation and the woman scoffed at me - as if I was stupid to even ask the question - to which she then turned her iPad around and showed a list of Reservations. I actually managed to point to my reservation that via the website had not seemed to schedule correctly - to which she aggressively said "well there's nothing we can do'. Right as I turned to leave the restaurant the rest of my party trickles in and asks if we can eat outside - One of the kind waitresses said "sure" to which she set us up outside. We ordered 3 bottles of Sake and they were £24 for 300ml bottles. We had hoped that they might be worth the price but unfortunately they weren't much better than what you can get from a CoOp with a liquor license. The Shrimp Ramen was fantastic and the sushi tasted great but was really overpriced for the quantity which they give you. Overall I totally get the lack of vacancy for a popular spot - but being scoffed at as you gently inquire about availability was really off putting. Even eating there despite it was difficult - and the alcohol/sushi being overpriced. Would not recommend. The sushi quality and the waitresses efforts are the only reason it's not 1/5.

Service is pretty poor. I hasten to add not the fault of the waitress but the cooks. I found myself…read moresitting waiting for my meal whilst my companion was eating away. It's a fairly basic rule that meals should be served to everyone at the same time. As for the food itself it was enjoyable but nowhere near the tastiness of the better restaurants in Glasgow.

I had heard of here but wasn't entirely sure whereabouts it was until my man and I stumbled upon it…read morewhen looking for a bite to eat for dinner. It's much smaller than I thought and seats about 8, possibly 9 at a push. It mostly deals with take away orders which we found to be very popular. If you fancy going as a small group I would probably book ahead. The girl who was serving us was rushed off her feet so kept apologising but we were in no rush and to be honest we didn't need to wait long. We ordered a bento box each, I had Chicken Teriyaki and my man had Chicken Curry. The bento boxes came in plastic sectioned trays and the sushi is all individually wrapped in sets of two. They keep all the sushi in an open fridge. The girl was constantly at the fridge as she made up many deliveries from there. So I guess for ease they keep all sushi maki type sushis wrapped up. If you want any other sushi's they will make up fresh for you. We both found our chicken dishes sauces very watery and I found the chicken texture a little strange, maybe a cheap cut. Who knows?! It still tasted alright and replenished my stomach well. I did find the sushi maki was smaller but cheaper, so not as much filling probably helping to lower the cost. It still was flavoursome and I would go back. The girl did forget our miso soup but made it up with more sushi maki when she realised. They also do sushi boxes from £3.75 and also party boxes which is made up of loads of sushi ranging from £19.99. I think it would be a great idea to have some boxes or a party box and have some sushi in Kelvingrove, which is literally round the corner. If the nice weather keeps up a wee trip could be coming soon.

After an afternoon of surprise birthday hangover Olympics in Kelvingrove Park, the two "German"…read moreOlympians were seeking some healthy sustenance. Having participated in such strenuous events like the "hurl a massive column wax candle", "schwing zee sausage", "pin the torch on the Olympian", "beat the goalie", and an obstacle course, they needed some good ole protein... FISH! However, lacking any energy and motivation, it was all about, "Why can't we order in like that place in Munich?" (Note: we really did order in sushi while we were in Munich, and it was effin delicious) *LIGHT BULB* The other day while we were driving through Finnieston, I noticed a wee shop next to the Korean restaurant Shilla, a "newish" sushi bar/takeaway called Cailin's Sushi. I took a mental note of this for future reference. While I may whinge about the Japanese food in Glasgow, Nanakusa has always been my go-to anytime I'm jonesin' for some sushi or a bento. Though my only gripe is that it can get quite pricey for the quality, though the quality actually surpasses that of YO! Sushi, Oko, Wudon, Ichiban, Wagamama, etc. On this occasion, my "German" teammate confirmed that Cailin's delivered and their offering was immense... nigiri, gunkan, hand rolls, hoso maki, futomaki, special rolls, sashimi, noodles, rice dishes, bento boxes, various sushi boxes, and desserts. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, and I ultimately ordered more that I could eat... seabass nigiri, mackerel nigiri, grilled eel hand roll, and a full spicy tuna roll. My teammate had the crispy duck hand roll and chicken katsu curry. Delivery was swift, but not as lightening fast as Usain Bolt; 30 minutes is standard! When the food arrived, presentation was much nicer than I had expected or experienced (i.e. Home Wok's sushi). The individually wrapped nigiri might be a little over the top, as they already come in a container. So I'm a bit confused as to how that adds to its "freshness"; if anything I think it's slightly wasteful packaging? The food itself was fresh and flavourful, and the miso soup was delightful. I'm happy to report that the fish didn't smell of ammonia or anything horrible (all good things). The only negative was the chicken katsu curry was already quite soggy, since the curry had been poured over the chicken prior to delivery. If the curry sauce were kept separately in transit, then my teammate would have been able to enjoy the crisp coating before the lashing of the silky curry sauce. While this probably wasn't the best sushi of my life, Cailin's does offer Glaswegians great value for food quality and price, especially when delivery is only £1.50. The £12.60 worth of sushi was enough to force me out of my Oktoberfest dirndl and Chuck Taylors combo, and into some stretchy yoga bottoms. Glasgow has a lot of catching up to do with regards to a good representation of more diverse ethnic cuisines like the other cosmopolitan cities around the world (*cough* NYC, Chicago, LA, Seattle, San Francisco...). With Cailin's offering fresh sushi delivery to either your home or office, this is a refreshing option in a land that birthed the deep-fried Mars bar. Yummers.

A wee review update and still a very strong 5 stars from me!…read more Cubatas is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow, I've now had countless meals here and enjoyed exceptional food and friendly, attentive service each time. We often take our little boy with us and they are so lovely to him, I order him a couple of dishes as soon as we arrive and these are brought out not long after we have him settled in his highchair and our drinks have arrived. It's brilliant as food keeps him occupied and we can relax and enjoy our food too. I force myself to order some dishes I haven't tried before - it's so easy to stick with the ones I have tried and I LOVE - and each time I discover another mouth watering dish. One of my new favourites is the pork cheek, melt in the mouth, jam packed full of flavour and so moreish. Added to some regular favourites such as the spicy prawns, paella, patatas bravas and their delicious salad dishes and you get a wonderfully varied meal. My top tip is to order a basket of bread for the table, the sauces and oils that accompany the dishes are divine and I love mopping them up with a chunk of soft fluffy bread. It's great going to Cubatas in a big group, with people who are happy sharing. My ideal would be to go and order one of everything off the menu, heaven :) These guys also do gift vouchers, I know as I bought my mum and dad some for Christmas. We've taken them for dinner here a few times and they love it!

We were both hungry and our eyes fell upon Shilla, a Korean restaurant based in Finnieston. Checked out the menu and seen there was some seats available. We had ended up at that busy period but we managed to get seats at the window. We had asked for the mezzanine seats, which looked available, but they said no. Maybe it was reserved, we didn't get an answer. I ordered the teriyaki chicken dish but I didn't really get to order my drink as Linda was ordering a Sapporo beer the waitress then left quickly so guessed I was getting one too. Ah well Sapporo it is. The dish was lovely but I found the chicken to be quite fatty, which is really rare to come across. I found it a bit chewy but the sauce was lovely, served with a side salad and fluffy rice. We were also given a mix of pickles with soy sauce before our main meals, these were complimentary. They were ok, some a bit weird tasting and texture wise a bit strange to me. Overall it was a good experience as they left us alone all night after we were served our food. Linda and I wanted somewhere we could have a good catch up and this was ideal. It was a bit uncomfortable at the end when we paying the bill and the waitress was waiting beside us as we were counting out our money. I would maybe head back and try something else as it was ok but the last visit didn't exactly blow my socks off.
