He liked his enough to almost finish the entire bowl. I tried to amp up my bowl with some chili oil and garlic chips as the veggie broth wasn't all that flavorful. There was plenty of noodles and veggies, so I wouldn't have been able to consume all of the liquid anyway. It was a lot of food for a fair price. Love Ramen Bones! Our go to ramen place when dining close to home. I think the workers knows our orders when we come in. My husband and I usually order Won Ton Min Ramen with Tan Tan base and extra noodles. We like to share so we don't eat too much noodles. Love their Tan Tan broth and the noodles are just the right texture of al dente. Also, their won ton (5 pieces) is yummy!! We usually order a side fish katsu which is nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and a good size to share. My son orders their spam katsu, curry on the side with no vegetables. Someday he will eat the veggies. My daughter loves their char siu fried rice as it has that wok flavor that makes it so yummy! Overall, we are always satisfied to eat here for a quick meal. There were definitely mixed reviews on Yelp but decided to take the plunge. First off, the place was freezing inside! Moved closer to the entrance to get a bit of sun. Bring outerwear! Second, their mini combo for lunch is such a steal! You can get a mini ramen bowl of your choice (decently large in a very deep bowl) and one to two choices of sides (mini curry & rice, teri chicken, gyoza, pork fried rice, etc) all for $10.95 or $11.95! I got the regular Black Garlic Ramen. Loved the noodles, broth was yummy, black garlic oil had a bit of a burnt taste (different but not sure how I feel about that), egg a little too salted, and charsiu tasted more like the barbecue version you find at a Chinese meat shop than your typical Japanese noodle spot. I was rather lenient or extra hungry today and gobbled everything up. It definitely hit the spot and is a pretty good deal, but would I come back again if I was feeling a little more picky? I absolutely love this place. I've come here many many times over the years and the food has always been great. For the amount of money you pay, this place serves you quality food. The place is pretty small so you might have to wait during busier times or days but usually the wait is not too bad. I usually get the ramen here but I've heard from multiple people that their curry is really good so I decided to try it myself and I was not disappointed. I lived in Japan for a long time so I know what good curry tastes like and this is really good. The veggies are the right amount of soft and the meat was cooked well too. When I saw Ramen Bones pop up on my search results for ramen joints on the west side, I honestly thought based on the restaurant name itself...finally a legit authentic ramen joint on this side! Without hesitation and looking at the menu, I asked my wife if we could go there for dinner one day. As a note, it's located in next to the Kapolei Foodland, so parking can be a bit hectic during peak hours, but generally there's ample parking. Once we arrived, I noticed the counter from which the cashier was located, they still had the old Daiichi sign on it but I ignored it thinking they didn't have a chance to swap it out yet. However, when I was presented with their menu, I noticed a near identical menu to Daiichi but with a slight variation. The variation is not to their benefit though because I felt Daiichi's menu was better. Better where you're able to choose your ramen with the combo special. For example, at Daiichi you're able to add a Tan tan ramen to your chicken katsu and curry over rice combo without extra cost. At Ramen Bones, they only give you the option of adding a select few ramens such as the shio, shoyu, and one more base ramen to your combo. I'll say the food tastes the same as Daiichi which is average at best but was bummed it wasn't authentic ramen. It's not the worst place because you get a good bang for your buck with their combo meals, I just won't recommend this place if you're looking for true authentic Japanese ramen like the spots you find in town. read more

The broth was pretty darn close to Goma-Tei, but the meat is nowhere near the same. I hold Goma-Tei's tan tan char siu as the holy grail of char siu. We were warmly greeted at the door, and directed to be seated. We sat close to the entrance door, up front to the. Cashier front end. We were given a menu and water mmediately. I personally did not like where I seated cause I could feel the other customers behind me picking up their orders, or paying their meal. Because it was a wet weather outside, my wife decided on their ramen udon, along with the side dishes. I chose the katsu curry chicken plate. When our orders came in, my wife broth from her udon ramen was steaming hot, also it was spicy. Luckily, she like spicy food. The udon seemed over cooked, but was still okay. My chix katsu curry was big portion with white rice, and can feed Two people; the taste was amazing, but not too strong in flavor. I chose to try this place because with Agu Ramen closed, I didn't have any go to ramen spots on the west side. The inside of the restaurant and menu style reminded me of Daiichi and Ramenya. They offer curry options, and ramen combos with can come with mini curries, fried rice, gyoza, or other fried meat. The staff was friendly and was quite attentive with refilling waters. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it was alright. Compared to the quality of other ramen restaurants, i felt the broth need more depth or flavor. The charsiu was good but it was thinly sliced pieces. My egg was overcooked and was basically a med boiled egg. I love having the runny or super soft egg yolk in my ramen so it was a bit disappointing. Ramen Bones is very tasty! Essentially it's just like a Daiichi which offers special combos in which allows you to choose multiple items. At $11.50 it was worth a try. The portion sizes are very generous! The bang for your buck factor is here but the food is also very tasty! Personally I went with the fried rice b/c growing up.. fried rice was some sort of a comfort food. My special combo consisted of the Tonkotsu Ramen as well as Pork Fried rice and the Gyoza. My lady went with the Miso Ramen as well as a side of Curry Rice and Chicken katsu. They were able to accommodate our family of 7 quickly. Quick service and the ramen was exceptional. Large portions so come hungry. There are other options than just ramen like curry and dumplings - I recommend getting the deep fried dumplings on the side. I got the Tan Tan ramen and definitely would get it again. Char sui was cooked well and the bamboo shoots paired perfectly with the dish. We all tried different ramens and no one complained about their choice. Everyone gobbled up their ramen as they raved about it. The soup and its flavor just hits the spot. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice. I definitely enjoyed the Tan Tan ramen though. Usually this place and Tanaka Ramen come up as popular choices in Kapolei. Both are good depending on which taste you prefer. Ramen Bones ramen has a more Chinese flavor to their ramen while Tanaka Ramen is more classic Japanese. The noodles at Ramen Bones were stringier, like chow mein noodles, than Japanese ramen noodles. Overall it was ok but not as good as Tanaka. The takoyaki was ok. Just a bit smaller and presented more messily. read more

Food and ambiance is good. Very much like a lot of the other ramen places on the west side. Reason I came here instead of my normal ramen place in pearl city is because they had a better variety. I was craving their black garlic ramen (which btw was very good). As far cleanliness, the place is pretty well kept, and I'd say much appropriate for pre covid days. I say that because I noticed that their sauce containers were left out on each table. I was very surprised it was there at all, especially since it's something frequently touched. I ate here today with one of my girlfriends for lunch and it was a HIT as always. She introduced me to this place when it was formally known as Daiichi. THANK GOD the cook from there STAYED the same and actually took over because YESSSS!!!! Stumbled upon this place via Yelp because we were craving soup noodles and didn't want to trek all the way to Waikiki for some. They have some really great value combinations here, including one with four pieces of gyoza, a bowl of tonkatsu ramen with one piece of pork, and a generous plate of fried rice for only $11. We opted to add extra pork for $2 and were extremely full from the ramen alone, plus had leftovers. I definitely think their food is a bit more Chinese influenced as opposed to Japanese, as their gyoza has a thicker skin and resembles steamed pork dumplings moreso than your traditional gyoza. Also, they had an oxtail ramen, which definitely tasted like something I've had at a Chinese restaurant before, but it was super soothing and comforting nonetheless.
