Worst experience ever! Beware of these guys! They will tell you whatever you need to hear to get the job.
The plumber I use recommended these guys to do some restoration work for my home. When the estimator came to the house, I told him we were hearing a drip coming from the walls and it was causing some damage to our downstairs bathroom and kitchen.
He said we needed to file a home insurance claim so they would pay for it. I called my insurance agent and he told me the chances were not good that it would be a paid claim. (I thought that is what an insurance guy would say, they don't want to pay claims) The inspector assured me they would pay for the damage from a pipe in the walls. So I signed the paperwork. The owner, Jessie came out the next day to make his assessment of the situation. After his inspection, he told me it was not a pipe in the wall, but a broken shower pan in the bathroom. I asked him if the insurance would still cover that or did I need to stop the claim? He said everything would be fine. He had run into this kind of thing before and the insurance would pay for it.
The next day they started doing demo work and removed all the damaged stuff from my house. The demo team was courteous and they did a great job. This is where the warm fuzzy feelings end.
The adjuster came out to see the work. They denied the claim. He said that Jessie changed his story 3 times to try and get them to cover it. Ultimately, it came down to Farmers policy not covering shower pans. ( I realize now, that I should have done my due diligence and asked Farmers again if they would cover the pan, but Jessie seemed to know what he was talking about, so I trusted him.)
Yesterday, I got a bill from Ramco for $2500, with a $600 discount for out-of-pocket. So I end up with an $1800 invoice. I called Jessie to let him know I was unhappy, because I was told by him that the insurance would cover it. It's the only reason I went through with it. I know how to demo a home. For $300 dollars, I could have bought everything I needed to do the same job they did. (The Hepa fans were the only thing I could not have done) Not only that, but I am now on the hook for all the cabinets, drywall, and shower install to get my home back up and running. The insurance was supposed to pay for all that too.
Jessie's response?: "Yeah. In this case we thought Farmers would cover the shower pan. They must have changed their policy." That's it. Nothing else. I would have expected another discount. I didn't even get an apology! I was not prepared to write a review until Jessie blew me off when I called. I thought in a time of crisis, these would be the guys I could trust to take care of my home and my family. Fool me once... read more
