Not very friendly staff. One cashier was so bad she needs to be trained to smile and have more people skills. There was no bagger to help her so she said she's bad at bagging then turned her back to me. I purposely go to human cashiers to check out and not the automated ones. Humans need jobs. But she is a really good reason to just fire them all and let customers check out and bag the groceries. We'll probably get the groceries cheaper. read more

Honestly I hate self checkout... because it doesn't make my life easier. I would prefer you put someone at self checkout that might consider asking you if you need help... when the prices don't match and you ask them something. They just hit the total and don't say a word. He acted like I was bothering him. He didn't utter a word. I don't need a "friend" just someone with some sort of personality. Staff here are rude! I was here to load my tap card - The lady at the self-serve counter sent me to register 11 because "the manager is the only person who can load tap cards". So i stayed in line for about 10 minutes only to tell me that they are out of tap (or whatever that means). The sales manager (asian, older lady) was just plain rude!!! read more

I've been coming to this store for years and always preferred it to or their stores in my neighborhood (Jon's, Vons, AND Food 4 Less). The last several months they seem to ALWAYS be out of chicken breasts. I don't understand how it's constantly on ad, but never in stock. I also can't stand how when they have spills, they just put down an entire roll of paper towels (still on the roll) to soak it up. Talk about lazy!! This is the closest market to my house and I shop here 3-4 times a week. Since I visit so often I never use a cart, but rather a hand basket. However, hand baskets are NOWHERE to be found in this location. I swear they literally only own five baskets. Every single time I visit I have to walk past every check stand to attempt to find a basket. Fortunately I usually find one at the second to last or very last check stand. I see other customers do it too! Some other shoppers even ask me for my basket while I'm checking out as they can't find one either. BUY MORE BASKETS. And have your employees who stand around in front of the check stands doing absolutely NOTHING collect the few baskets you do have and bring them to the front. The checkers are rude, the box people are rude. There are no carts, the outside of the store is dirty. There is not enough staff to handle the huge rush hour crowds and no one knows what he is doing. This is my favorite Ralph's, but they don't know how to bag. The one thing I hate is their bagging. It's terrible. They will put a juice on top of bread and eggs. Overfill the bags to the point that they rip when you hold them by the handles. They need to re-teach all their employees how to bag properly. This has happened with about 5 different people who bagged my groceries. I now tell them I want my bags light and somehow they still manage to break my eggs. They also put meat, with produce, which in my eyes is very unsanitary. However, they are good with their shelf life and most things aren't expired like I've experienced in other stores. read more

This is my local Ralph's and I've been going here for the past 10 years. I have to say that I've noticed huge changes in the past year to six months and thought it was worth my while to write up about it. One area of the supermarket that has always remained consistent however was produce. Hamo always seems to be present, and keeps the produce area looking nice and tidy. As for the cashiers, it seems that they hired a whole lot more people over the past year, in my experience with Ceci this morning was also a good one. She was fast, professional and had a little chat with my 5 year old on the way out. I have also had the pleasure of previously checking out with an older gentleman who's name escapes me, but seems to genuinely care about the customers that come through. Anyhow, I highly recommend his location, and hope that management keeps things going in the same direction. read more

Why bother with social distancing tape for the registers customers people can't walk down the aisles without bumping into other customers or workers trying to stock the shelves? I never ever in my life thought that I would write this kind of a review, but it has actually come down to this. My husband and I just went to this Ralph's (and we come here every week to do our grocery shopping), and we got treated in the most unprofessional and awful way possible. Ralphs has the policy of social distancing, but some customers completely neglected this rule and came in skin-to-skin contact with my husband. When he asked the cashier named Pablo to tell those customers to step away, the cashier said in a very rude way "Why don't you tell them yourself?" Then my husband got cussed out by Pablo. We asked for the manager, and Grace came and did absolutely nothing because to her obviously this type of behavior from the cashier is more than fine. We wanted to talk to another manager Raquel. We told her what happened, and she handled it even worse. She took us to Pablo's cash register, after which he threatened us by saying to us "You want to take it outside?" He said it in front of the customers and Raquel, who, when we expressed our concern about that to her saying we feel threatened, Raquel immediately told us "Pablo is not like that." Seriously? If THAT is not a threat, what IS??? Did you even hear what Pablo just said?? Finally, we got to speak to the store manager Tony, who didn't exactly handle it right either; he just said he would talk to Pablo and apologized. This is unbelievable and scary. Not treating customers right. Not being professional. Threatening customers. I can't believe what just happened to us at Ralphs. And looking back at the situation-I think I know why we got so mistreated today: we are white. All the workers that were involved were of Hispanic origin. This is racism against white people, and this is very serious. Save yourself from all this and do not go to this location. read more

I have just come back from the most fucking irritating aggravating shopping experience of my life I have been going to this route since I was dragged there as a little child before I can walk a talk I have been going there ever since I've known most of the staff quite well and there's this young girl working the self check-out line and I showed up and explain to her that this smoked sausage scanned wrong with the self-scanning unit that they hand you at the front and I asked her it's free right and she looked at me very strange and then while what's wrong and she's always shut your phone and I didn't think I put it that close at all but I apologize three times nevertheless because I'm a gentleman and she proceeded to give me the item for free which I appreciate and at that moment I noticed she still wasn't quite normal I apologized again and again and she seemed only concerned with talking to the fat Latino who is the back or who was standing next to her doing nothing when I walked up she made sure to get back and chit chat about me to him and then I noticed that the big ass TV monitor is now blinking recording recording like I'm some fucking thief I do not needed to be treated like that ever if the management has to resort to those levels why don't they have Pat Downs at the exit of the store I demand a fucking apology I will upload her name so the management knows who to place the blame on this really makes me angry I don't know that anyone was reading this would like to be treated as a thief and that's clear what she was doing and the part I didn't mention as she glanced what was in my basket and told me there's only so many items in there and the reason being is sometimes I find something at the discount rack and it's just easier for me not to scan it and scan everything at the end but I was a little thrown by being ripped off by the scanner I would give them zero stars but Yelp forces me to give them one I think when I go in there the next time I'm going to walk up right to the management and going to your ripped me off you got all the prices correct real loud I mean if that's the way they're going to treat me based on whatever by turning on a monitor that says you're being recorded now flashing and red I think I should flash my mouth real loud and it'll read metaphorically I think I should say real loud in front of the whole story you going to get the prices correct today or you going to rip me off again read more

My family have been shopping at this Ralph's for many years and have never had much problems, but since this coronavirus I have to say I've been very disappointed. They make a point of putting up signs to keep your distance but they don't enforce it and there is no one way directional to the isles. The last time I was there a couple days ago around 2:00 I saw people standing close in isles forcing me to wait or go around until they broke up. There was a woman with kids walking around with no mask or gloves and no one said anything to her. The only thing they have is markers on the floor when you check out to keep your distance. It is devastatingly sad at the disregard some people are having of the social distancing rules. 6 feet or more people!! That item on the shelf is not worth your life !!! Until they start enforcing the rules, we won't be going back. A short time ago someone responded to my review and called me a "Karen" and told me I could leave the state. Well, all I can say is Thank you for showing your ignorance. You should read ( if you read at all ) the article in the LA Times by Robin Abcarian. She describes a "Karen" as "someone who feels entitled to endanger others." Who are "opposed to social distancing, out of either ignorance or ruthless self-interest." I have done either. Time to fined a new market!!! I've shopped at this Ralph's market for almost 8 years and I've always had problems with the service. Usually it's just the bagger Cross contaminating my food. I just started telling them that I would take care of the bagging seeing as they do nothing to train there employees not to put meat with produce. Ok fine I bag my own stuff whatever. The other day there cashier overcharged me by $100 because she couldn't pay attention to what I told her I was doing when paying with two different cards. So when I got my bank notification the next day alerting me to her error I came straight to the store in a Panic because my rent check was about to bounce due to her error! They told me they could not fix this mistake in the store and had me call the corporate number witch thankfully one of there more diligent employees helped me by calling for me. On hold for 45min took over 2 hours on the phone In there store to correct. When it came down to it my bank ultimately corrected their error. Really want my 2 hours back!!!! When I called to speak to a manager they took my number and no one ever called me back... more than disappointed so sick of this store!!! Avoid cashier named Daisy!!! She's cross candidate my food on countless occasions and now overcharged me by $100 she's never smiling she's never friendly she's always got a miserable look on her face how she still has a job is a Mystery to me. read more

Great shopping experience until I got to the check out and saw the indiscretion of the young girl named Erika working the self check out...she hold up a pregnancy test that is incased in a protective anti theft box and yells to her coworker down the isle asking how to open it. Salad bar is advertised as Organic but I watched a deli employee refill it with non-organic dressing and items from the produce section that were non-organic. I do have to give a five-star to the fresh made sandwiches to order in the deli. This store is so EXPENSIVE! I paid $35 for a few ingredients to make Mac and cheese! And I didn't even buy any of the premium cheeses! $37 for a bag of lemons with $10 vodka, mint and bag of ice. They overcharge here and the selection is so limited. Their herbs selection is limited to a lot of organic forcing you to overpay for something with a sticker that says organic. Did you grow and pick it? No, as far as any of us know, they were grown with all the other produce. For the same prices, I would rather go to Trader Joes or Whole Foods. read more

The bad reviews on this Ralphs, are gathering up in big numbers, with no change or improvement of the disastrous situation in this store. Everything starts with the management of the store and further. All the managers in this store as well as assistant managers, are extremely rude, arrogant and totally useless. They don't wanna do their job, they don't respect the customers. They are so disrespectful, that if you complain about anything, they will turn against you. The store is disorganised, badly restocked, at the meat department , you are and you should be, suspicious of the freshness of products. The produce section, is a mess, produce items, don't look fresh, the displays look messy. All over the store, if you ask employees a question, no one knows anything, or the answer is " no, we don't have that", although the item you asked for, is available.The problems in this store, are numerous and the refusal of the corporate, to acknowledge the problem and make some changes, is mind boggling! In this management conditions, the proper storage of perishables in the back is at doubt, Again, the meat trays on the shelf,contain a lot of pink/red juice, which tells you, that they were packed several days ago. Extremely rude management. I had been looking for an employee to help me find a certain beverage and couldn't find anyone. Then a lady (who seems to be the manager) approached me. before I could ask her about the drink, she started making rude comments about my service animal, who is trained to assist me with a chronic disease. Not only was she insulting, but she didn't even apologize after I explained my condition and my animal's purpose. She continued trying to justify herself. Plus, they're trying the scan and go option, though I haven't seen anybody use it yet. This Ralphs now has the big deli, but surprisingly there's no Starbucks inside. I don't know why I keep going to this market, I guess it's 2 minutes closer than Albertsons and there's a self checkout. Regretfully they've made some changes in the products they keep shelved, and their self checkout won't let you bag more than 1 bag without a cashier (who's never there) assist you. You usually end up waiting a solid 3 minutes before someone notices you (more than time it takes to get to Albertsons). Also they stopped carrying a lot of gluten free options and the bottled water I like, so I end going to Albertsons or Vons anyway. read more

This Ralphs is nice and clean. Recently remodeled, the shelves are well stocked and items are fairly easy to find. Parking is plentiful and I never had a problem. Plus it's close to where I reside. Workers there are fairly nice and helpful, especially the folks helping out at the U-Scan machines. Pitch me...dreaming is over. Though this is a nice supermarket and it has everything I wanted, it's severely overpriced to a point it's ridiculous. Nearly $1 for a skinny stalk of green onions or $1.49 for one green pepper is utterly insane. While there are prices that need to be increased due to economic situations, there are prices that don't need to be. Sadly it seems that most Ralphs market follow this pattern. This store is always crowded, the parking lot is crowded, and there are never any small baskets to use. There are never enough checkers because they want to force you to check out and bag your own groceries. The prices are high and rising. I think this is a Kroger thing. They now charge you .50 to get cash back. UGH! I really need to find a different grocery store to use. This one is the closest to my house, but I'm getting to the point where I will go out of my way just to avoid this Ralphs on Saticoy and Louise.
