I wanted to talk about my experience today on August 15, around 10:45 PM - 11 PM. This was my FIRST and LAST time to this Vons. I am an Uber eats driver and had a Shop & Delivery order at this Vons, basically how this works is I shop for other people who order to. I don't control what time I get the order. I got this around 10:30, accepted + driving time. I made it in and tried my best to shop as quick as I could! Again just doing my job, but it's hard when you're not familiar with the store (again this is my first time) so I struggled but still was literally RUNNING around to fulfill this order. A security guard came up to me saying "I don't mean to be rude, but they're not going to let you check out if you're past 11" understandable, I told him it was for an uber order and I was almost done, but I was just doing me job, he was understandable. Throughout my time shopping there (I believe the manager Miriam) was blasting over the intercom when the store was closing, causing me to stress out more while shopping. I was nearly done. I already felt guilty, but I was only doing the job assigned to me as fast and accurate as I could. I finally got down to 3 items around 11 Pm, just some produce. HERE IS WHERE MY GUARDIAN ANGEL CAME IN! I'm so sorry if I butchered his name, but I believe it was Julian, or something similar, as the manager over the intercom was constantly saying "Julian the store is closed!" "JULIAN THE STORE IS CLOSED!". JULIAN, THE EMPLOYEE WAS THE ONLY GOOD THING IN THIS STORE. HE CAME OVER TO GLADLY HELP ME WITH MY LAST ITEMS. HE UNDERSTOOD I HAD A JOB. HE UNDERSTOOD IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. HE WAS HELPFUL AND KIND. PLEASE PROMOTE THIS MAN! PLEASE PROMOTE THIS MAN HE DESERVES IT! He said it's not like I had 20 items left, i only had 3 that he helped me with. He ushered me to self checkout but then came the worst part of the night This supervisor (who I believe is named Miriam because that's what the receipt I got showed), was so incredibly rude. I'm sorry but if you're so rude to the point that you make someone cry, you shouldn't be working in a place where you have to interact with other people. She immediately scolded me, saying how "I'm only going to do this one time, the next time you do this I won't. I won't." Girl- this is my FIRST time here. What do you mean. I'm not going to even come back after this one. I already started apologizing to her, I felt guilty as it was, and I get why she was frustrated, but the way she verbally berated me is so unprofessional. She was rambling on and on while checking me out, making me feel bad despite trying to explain I was just doing my job, that I didn't deliberately try to stay late. She told me "next time don't accept the order".... Honey that's not how it works, just like you I'm also making a living. Just like you, I also get in trouble at my job, especially if I just don't accept the order or cancel mid order. Don't bombard me over it if you have a problem with it. At that point I started tearing up. She raised her voice at me during all this. Then she saw she made me cry and had the nerve, THE NERVE, to start saying "don't cry, I'm sorry I sound mean but I need to go home" WHICH is not true, as I found out by another employee that the supervisor actually leaves at 11:30, not 11, I was at checkout around 11:06. I don't know what her problem was. She's a grown 60 year old woman yelling at a 20 year old. You happy? Does making others feel bad for just doing their job make you happy? If so, get another line of work, or better yet retire. Don't work with people if you're going to behave that way at your grown age. I truly do apologize to all the other employees, I did not have intentions to stay past closing, and I was literally doing my best and actually running around the store to grab stuff. And to Julian, (again I'm sorry if that wasn't your name. but you had a backpack on and were on your way out from work) thank you for helping me get the 6 limes and the 4 Roma tomatoes for the uber order I had. Thank you. I hope you get promoted and get recognition. And I'm sorry you work under a horrible supervisor. I hope she gets retrained, or relocated. read more

I have been to this Vons years ago and just recently this past Tuesday afternoon I had told my son to go and do some shopping from there since he was going to be in Northridge. This Vons is a bigger store than the one in Studio City. It is shared with a lot of businesses and has a lot of parking spaces. He used the self checkout since he finds it easier and faster. He said the aisles were very easy to navigate, clean and inside the store all employees were very helpful. On this visit he got 2 different types of cream cheese. One Strawberry flavor, and the other one Garden Vegetables, he got Traditional Guacamole that comes 4 in a pack. Also, got few frozen foods that were on sale. He bought flowers for me, got sour cream, whipped butter from their dairy department, bread, some canned and jarred food, candy, dried pasta and some soda. They have an enormous section of cakes, slices of different types of pastries, meats, also (marinated meats,) seafood/poultry, ready made soups, deli, long aisles of frozen section, fresh produce (fruits, vegetables) party platters, card section, paper goods, ready made salads, special section for juice/sauces of different kinds. Bakery, also had fresh bread & you can order and customize cakes to your liking for any occasion. We have done that in the past. They used to have Red Box inside the store, I don't know if they still do or not. They have you covered from A to Z!! It is our favorite store to shop at. Any location truly delivers in every way! I stopped in to pick up the remainder of my groceries list as another stores nearby doesn't carry everything that was needed. This location, in a massive strip mall with loads of parking. It's at a busy intersection so depending if you're coming or entering from Reseda or Nordoff. It could get a bit tricky with traffic. Some people will let you in while others don't care. Anyways, loads of parking. It's a decent size store so there's pretty much everything you need. A nice florist with loads of fresh flowers and arrangements. Not sure when the delivery for them arrives. Their produce section was quite nice too. Loads of organic produces to choose from. Meats section, there's a good selections but compared to other stores. This location did have a little less. Their glass counter did have a lot of selections though. The aisles are decent size so it doesn't get too crowded when two trolleys are passing by. Register area does seemed a bit tight in my option. Bakery section, decent amount of fresh baked items. Overall, it's not my usual supermarket but, it did have what I needed so that was a plus. read more

I always go to my local Vons Market in Northridge, but this cashier named Anna was really rude. She refused to scan a coupon that was printed on my receipt from a previous purchase. I'm very disappointed because it would have saved me $5 on a $25 purchase. Ana was very rude and unprofessional. Great and friendly service from the bakery department!! Diana and Georgia, both went above and beyond for me. I needed a full size sheet cake for the next day and they came through for me. I explained to Diana and Georgia that it was for my wedding and they both were so elated. On my way out, a nice young lady named Angela that worked in floral stopped me to give me a complimentary bouquet of flowers. Angela explained she overheard me. I thanked her for her kindness. I have never had such great and friendly service at a Vons. I have always found the cake from Vons to be fresh and very good. My cake was ready for me that next morning and perfect!! They have some of the least helpful and rude employees including managers. Ana was my cashier today and she was horrible to me. 5 days ago, I bought 4 protein shakes. All of the shakes were good except one of them which was thick and gooey. I went back to the store just 5 days later with my receipt in hand and asked them to exchange it for another shake. Ana balked at the fact that I was exchanging something I bought just 5 days earlier and acted like it was too late. After checking with her manager, she asked me what was wrong with it. After I told her the problem, she debated my reason and flat out told me she didn't think so. Are you kidding me? Then why don't you take a swig out of and see for yourself! What an idiot! How dare she tell me there was nothing wrong with it? And 80% of the shake was still in the bottle so it wasn't like I had the benefit of consuming most of the shake. Ultimately I was able to swap it out for a fresh shake. But it wasn't without a lot of nitpicking and suspicion. This is all over a $3 shake! Plus they never have more than one cashier at any given time and good luck finding an employee if you need help in the aisle with something. I will not be shopping here any longer. They made me feel like a criminal today over a $3. It seems like a lot of their food gets spoiled prematurely and this happens quite often. I'm going to make Ralph's my primary grocery store and avoid Vons like the plague. I don't need to deal with their unhappy rude employees. I had to ask the manager for help the other day with an out of stock item and she acted like I was bothering her. Did not want to help me. Maybe because she was black and I was white? This store has 2 1/2 stars and so many flaws in terms of customer service and product placement including over-pricing and horrible customer service. Thus as a customer service professional it boggles my mind how they stay in business. I did consider speaking with the manager but one was not present. I did speak with a cashier and her energy wreaked of it is what it is and who cares. So if she doesn't care neither do I. I wont be back! 1. Basic store items locked behind glass. This is such an annoying inconvenience. Lanes are the length of soup lines. I notice that most stores don't value our time. But Von's is quite exceptional and a leader of the industry when it comes to this fatal flaw, its a fine art for them. They are infinitely clueless to how insulting this is. Its like they consider half the people in the store are there to steal Tide and Advil. Yet, I figured that's why you have cameras and security. Also they always only have one check stand open. Its the same woman whom I spoke with and she doesn't even try to hide how miserable she is. I feel bad for her but then I catch myself because there are many people who will gladly do her job with the zest and zeal, she lacks. If I didn't know any better I would assume they don't want us to shop there. 2. Hot Food Center is complete trash. The same theme of employees appearing to hate their jobs and it comes out in the food they serve. They cook one time per day and they use the same grease over and over. Its clear they don't eat the food they serve, its bland and dried out and overcooked most of the time. You can literally taste the lack of concern. They are simply doing a job and that's it. 3. Overpriced items and totally out of touch with the people who shop there. The products are primarily only for 65 year old Anglo-Saxons. If you are of any other ethnic group. Its practically impossible to shop there. You will have to go to another store. I get the feeling that's what they want anyway. They price the items like we have no other options. They make Trader Joes, Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods seem like a better world entirely. And they are. This Vons is worse than the one on Sherman Way and Woodman. That shouldn't even be possible. But it is. Suffice to say this store is a failure in terms of being a neighborhood convenience. Where people can come to shop with a smile and be greeted by one and I never feel good about shopping there, I always leave feeling like, why did I even come here? I knew what type of experience it would be. After reading the reviews its obvious this store is in need of a full make over and it starts from the top down. Customer service is needed desperately. Early Sunday morning, a full shopping cart, dozens of items that were totaled over $250. The "service employee" was clearly annoyed to assist with checking out and fully expecting to perform self checkout even with a full cart. We are talking about FIVE minutes of help, the entire time, it was clear she didn't want to help and was interrupted by helping a customer. read more

My boyfriend and I were individually purchasing our items at the self-checkout when the employee overseeing the registers took my boyfriend's receipt, followed us to our car, and accused one of us of stealing a case of water--an item that was clearly listed on the receipt. Had she been diligent in performing her duties, she would have noticed the second item on the receipt, which invalidated her accusation. Regrettably, this is not the first time we have encountered an employee who seemed to assume we were "up to no good." We have been frequenting this Vons location since we started school in 2023, but unfortunately, this experience has made it our last visit. So be careful for the woman overseeing the self checkout, as she may turn your shopping trip into something reminiscent of a time in which we were targeted. Convenient place for me to go to since it's near my dentist. It's just that during my last visit, as I was using the self check out, I needed an assistant. The sales associate was rude. She did punch some things on the machine and threw the card on the bagging area. It threw me off!!! Store is fully stocked and organized. I see some merchandisers on the floor restocking shelves. I have never had a bad experience at this Vons besides minor inconveniences. It seems that the self checkouts are down a lot and it causes backup on the busy days. Other than that usually the aisles are stocked, food is fresh, and the place is usually clean. Prices are high, but those who shop at Vons know that. I can always rely on vons for when I'm looking for a specialty food item, like fancy cheese. The store is easy to navigate and the workers are always friendly! They have upbeat music while you shop and sometimes have funny announcements where they throw in some puns. Miriam will stare at you to see if you will acknowledge her first when it should be the other way around. Jordan is a young kid who has no clue how to handle busy store lines and hours and doesn't know the difference between a quarter and a nickel. Don't they teach you this in second grade? Maybe even first grade. Jordan a simple online course in American currency would really help you. Skip the gaming and read up on cash and currency values. Miriam either retire or get another career going because you are miserable and it shows. What happened Vons? What happened to your friendly neighborhood grocery store? This place is rundown from the outside to the checkout lines. Just because Miriam and Jordan are Available to work shouldn't mean they get to treat customers with disrespect rudeness and dismissiveness. This location used to be great, but since the pandemic, it's gone downhill. Often understaffed, under-stocked, there are times when what is in stock is low quality, such as having old produce. I've even seen mold on strawberries a few times, those shouldn't be on the shelf. The staff is usually friendly and helpful, but the rest needs a lot of improvement. read more

It's prominent that the workers here aren't happy and trying to make the best of their terrible work situation. I don't doubt them as the manager is on a power trip. Was rude explaining that no dogs are allowed in and made it sound like I was being banned when in reality he was trying to say no dogs are allowed in the store in general. Terrible confrontation skills and politeness. No signs that say no dogs either nor are there any bag recycling drop off like most local grocery stores should have available. They definitely put their money into this store in areas that I do not deem necessary for them. I addition, they lack shopping cart availability in peak hours. If I could, I would give this store 0 stars. I called to inform them that they had left all the frozen items off my order. The manager didn't apologize or anything she just said: do you want to come back and get them? She needs to be retrained in how to deal with customers because she got very defensive and argumentative when I told her I also wanted to complain about the rude lady who brought the groceries out, which surprise just happened to be her also. I asked her for refund, and at this point she was full blown in angry mode and said: you can call back tomorrow and ask my boss to process it. I mean, really?! Done! Never again from this store. I really like this Vons. It always has what I'm looking for, the upkeep is fantastic, the employees are very friendly, and, it's always a quick stop! I feel like a lot of people either don't know about this location (which is odd because it's on the intersection of 2 major streets), or they just don't want to go here. The store is always relatively empty whenever I come by which is how I always like to shop for groceries. The lot is big enough, even though it's in a big shopping center, to accommodate plenty of vehicles. I often find a spot right up front. So, while this location isn't the closest one to me, I often stop by for a quick trip. Especially when there's just one or two items I can't find at my other regular stores. I've never had trouble finding it here. It's like my little hidden grocery gem (that's hiding in plain sight). read more

Gery the cashier is always very friendly and helpful, we always make sure to checkout at her register because she always has the best attitude. This is the 3rd sandwich I've had made at the deli, two from this location. This is the worst sandwich I've had from Vons. It was sloppy, had very little meat, no guacamole (Cali sandwich), mustard and mayo was all over the bread and the wrapper. Absolutely the worst grocer in the area, by far. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Never any handcarts available, forcing you to use carts and rack up the bill. Fewer and fewer lanes open every week, forcing the customer to use self checkout, even though the savings from hiring people doesn't seem to make it down to the consumer. Produce is severely lacking in selection and more often than not well past it's expiration point (walked in for some oranges last week and most of them were rotten). Shelves regularly empty. Just absolutely awful. I only come here when I absolutely have to but I'm ust start planning better and going elsewhere going forward. read more

I went to Vons this evening. I typically go to Ralph's but this location was on my way home. I spent a good 40 minutes getting groceries and the aisles were well maintained, produce and things I needed were easy to find. However, as I'm checking out, Angela (my receipt shows) was my cashier. After ringing me up, the credit card reader showed my final total and prompted me for payment. I used my Apple Pay feature to pay and after paying and hearing the "beep" the receipt didn't come out as she was bagging my groceries. After half a minute of watching her bag, I simply asked "do you think it took my payment?" Her response: "I don't know, I'm bagging" (wearing a mask, you can still tell she is not having a good day). I didn't respond at that point, but after she provided my receipt, I said "have a good day"... Her response. Nothing. Sounds like she doesn't like working at Vons. read more

Such a great grocery store when I'm around the area and need to get some stuff. I usually only come to this Vons if I'm near because I have another Vons closer to my house. The parking situation here is alot better than the Vons near me because it's in a big plaza. I came here with my fiancée since she wanted to get a cake and they have a lot of different options to choose from. While she was doing that, I went to the ice cream aisle to get some ice cream for my nephew. They had the Spiderman one that I know he likes so it was a win win. We paid through the self checkout area and there always a worker there to help you if you have any issues. The workers are always friendly to me when I go and the place is very clean inside. read more
