I have an old Pfaff industrial machine that was serviced by Ralph's in the past. Since I am not able to drop off the machine due to it's weight I requested that a technician would come to my place to work on the machine. Pat did an amazing job and was very thorough. The bill was another matter. I paid for travel time ( 75.00) ,the hours it took to repair the machine (230.00) which all makes total sense. The service fee of $145.00 0n top of everything else was totally unexpected and is in my opinion patently unreasonable. A surcharge of almost 50% of the total is truly usurious. Took my industrial sewing machine to Ralph's for maintained. They dropped the machine and broke a mounted part of the machine. They refused to give the broken part. When I contacted the supervisor he just laughed and said it was my fault. Be very cautious taking your equipment to them. So angry! read more

After spending over $20,000 with Ralph's over the last few years, and even buying over $6,000 in sewing machines during the Pandemic last year, Rueben, Jack and Joe have REFUSED to come and even look at 2 sewing machines for repair, because I did not buy these two from them. I went and met with Reuben in person to ask if he'd come by (with no guarantees that he would be able to fix them) and be paid for his time. Rueben said he'd ask Joe; I talked toJoe who dais it was Rueben's call. Rueben said he'd ask Jack. Jack then called me to try and sell me a new machine, and then said again, it as Rueben's call. They are all passing the buck, until Rueben said this morning that he would not come and even look at the machines; that it was Ralph's "policy" to NOT SERVICE OR REPAIR ANY MACHINE THAT WAS NOT PURCHASED THROUGH THEM. They know they are the only industrial sewing company in Denver. It is HORRIBLE business; a "punishment" for not buying these two machines from them. Bad, bad, business practice!! I have left message after message trying to get the parts department to call me back and they never respond. They have always had the worst customer service. I only go there if I have no other choice. read more

I anticipate this being a two post review. I will only comment on facts at this time. I have a brand new, used for 20 minutes machine that I needed help on, it was catching and dragging when reverse lever activated. They said it would be $35 travel fee and $40 an hour. I agreed. They sent Pat over, he spent 3 hours and was unable to fix it, or even diagnose it. He said he would take it back to the shop and the clock would start new then. So I agreed, $35 for the travel and a blank order at the shop. OK, so now I call the manufaturer to make sure that if the local shop works on the machine the warranty is not voided (why didn't I send it in for warranty-it weighs 93 pounds and I would have to pay freight both directions). They said it would not and then asked me the problem. I told them and he said he could probable tell me what to do over the phone. I told him that the technician had already taken the machine. He said to have the tech call him. I called Ralphs and told the front desk that and gave the number. I got a call back saying to come pick up my machine, that it is not in their job description to call the manufacturer. I again said what Gary from SailRite said and he (sorry didn't get name) said someone would call be back. Reuben called me back the next day, I explained what I just said and he said that made sense, get some guidance from the people who made the machine. He said he'd call. They call and say my machine is ready and it is over $200. They said it was 2 hours of shop time and the travel time added on. They charged me $80 an hour not the $40 that they quoted me, unfortunately the form left with my by Pat has no pricing information on it. so.. the short of this posting is... If they honor what they said or if they try to rob me, I am willing to pay what I was quoted, not double that, AND i need to make sure that they indeed did call the manufacture and if it was indeed what the manufacture suggested it was. This posting will determine the integrity of the company based on the response I get when I go to pick up the machine, because I can sure tell you the guy who called me and said it was ready for pick up was not any kind of nice. He was in fact argumentative, but I understand some people have a bad day. That is not the issue here - ethics is the issue OK PART TWO - I called the manufacturer and actually listened to Reubens call to them ask I requested, and as previously noted, he did not have to do that, but I requested he do so, and... HE DID IT - Credit is well deserved for that. I went to the desk to pick up the machine and Reuben personally came over and talked to me and explained every thing. 1st off, the shop rate is $40/ HALF HOUR, so that accounts for why the price was double what i was expecting. Reuben told me what was wrong, explained the diagnostic procedure, showed me the fix that they did and educated me on the mechanics of my machine, what he did to fix the problem and how to avoid the problem in the future. I obviously have not tried the machine out, but I expect it to be fine. This was a 100% reversal of my opinion. There customer service is horrible! I've purchased multiple industrial sewing machines from them throughout the years. Ordering replacement parts is a huge hassle as they don't return calls and messages. One machine they sold me came with the wrong plug. When I got ahold of them to get the right plug the response was "i only have one in the shop and that would put my machine out of commission." Funny how after buying a brand new machine from them they didn't I want to be in the exact position they put me in. read more

I own an old Pfaff commercial sewing machine which had several issues. I've been sewing for a week since it was repaired, and I am completely satisfied with the quality of the work! I can sew through several layers of heavy vinyl and the machine just hums right though it. These folks really know what they're doing, I would highly recommend them. I found Ralph's online and headed there. They printed up a manual for me free of charge and helped me to figure out what thread to buy. The prices there are more than reasonable and they carry every part and accessory that you could want. They also have a great selection of tools for tailoring and pattern making.
