The refrigerator stoped delivering water through the water supply system. I did everything I knew how, like changing filters. But nothing helped. All I ever got was a very slow flow. Frustrating beyond belief. I called Universal Repair because they had very good feedback ratings. Lo and behold, the positive feedback was just what I experienced. I was given a next day appointment by Valerie, with a two hour window. Dmytro showed up right on time! He didn't mess about. He went straight to work diagnosing my problem. Then he did his magic and suddenly my refrigerator was working like new. Dmytro showed me the condenser and it was disgustingly dirty. He cleaned that up to like new. While they never identified one issue, when I pushed on another they did identify a part to replace that would eliminate the noise that bothered me. They did not charge additional labor for this. This is the second time I've used Universal Repair to assist with problematic appliances. The first was working on a secondary refrigerator in my garage. This time, I had an issue with my Samsung washer that was constantly bringing up unbalanced messages after increasingly worse vibrations started popping up. Following some brief troubleshooting through Yelp messaging, parts were ordered, and an appointment was set up. With a winter storm coming, I was happy to hear the suspension rods came in a day early, and a same-day appointment was available. He showed up on time, replaced the suspension rods, and tested it out. He then went through several cycles of troubleshooting when the error still popped up, even though the vibrations weren't really happening. Eventually, he determined that resetting the washer was what was needed. Everything then worked well, and the washer has worked properly since. Woke up in the morning 5/13/25, and darn it! My fridge was warm, and the freezer was not freezing! No ice, too! So I called Universal Repair, and I was so happy when they could have someone there at 11am (SAME DAY!) to look at it! Demetro pulled out the fridge, looked at everything, and saw that it needed a new compressor. He was able to get the new compressor, and be back to install it that afternoon!! By the evening of 5/13, I had a nice, cool fridge and freezer again, and by morning was able to put food back in it! Ice started working again too! I contacted Universal Repair after I contacted Priority Appliance Repair because I knew that PAR was trying to rip me off based on my knowledge of appliances. My LG refrigerator was working, just wasn't making ice as fast as expected. Priority Appliance Repair had told me that basically everything inside my refrigerator was broken, and that I had to order about $500 worth of parts to replace everything. Their technician was watching YouTube videos and going in and out of the house while talking to his boss, and something didn't feel right. I had done some research myself, and I knew that they were going way, way overboard. Enter: Universal Repair. I explained what was happening. He took a look. He decided to just vacuum up some dust that had gathered around the back of the refrigerator and fan. He said that obviously the refrigerator and freezer were both working, but he wanted to go the conservative route because this was a common issue. That was the issue. It was the dust. Yes, I paid money to have a lot of dust removed, but I got an honest repair and was shown how to do this myself if it ever happens again. Second time in a month I had an kitchen applicance failure and Universal Repair came to the rescue once again! This time the failure was the oven, which wouldn't hold a steady temperature - and Universal scheduled Dmytro to come out to help me right away. Dmytro spent time assessing my problem (which was the oven heating up to more than 50 degrees above the set temp) and answered all of my questions about temp fluctuations. He replaced a needed part, which he fortunately had on his truck, but let me know that with the age of my used appliance, there was a chance the issue might not be resolved by replacing that part alone. He also took the time to show me how the part was now enabling the temp to hold steady as set. After having the oven work for a while due to the repair, it started acting up again with higher temps - and Universal was unbelievably helpful. They researched additional needed parts for my older oven and thoughtfully laid out all of my options. They spent a lot of time helping me! In the end, it made sense to move on to a different range/oven. Universal was kind and financially generous in working with me regarding my oven problem. Dishwasher wouldn't run so we reached out to set an appointment to check the issue. Found out the next morning that our pipes burst below the house which was why the hot water wouldn't run to the dishwasher. Found out 10 minutes before the technician arrived. When he arrived he stated he couldn't diagnose unless the water was turned on, which of course we couldn't do. Demanded the full $80 in cash and was rude to my girlfriend during the process. She asked for him to wait till I came home. I agreed to the $80 just so he would leave. Made away nice for not having to do anything but show up. In response to the owner. My LG Drier started making loud thumping noises. I called and scheduled a tech to analyze and repair. The Tech arrived as scheduled and found a wheel on the drum had seized up. He replaced the part and it worked fine for about 3 weeks. It then started making a different thumping noise. I found out the service was under warranty and a repair tech arrived the next morning and promptly found that the replaced part was defective. He replaced the defective part for no charge and had it working again in short order. All of the people I dealt with were polite, prompt and courteous.
