Ananda responded promptly returning my call as he was on another job and said he would call me back. About 15 minutes later he called back, and I described the cooling problem I was having with my refrigerator. He asked me to take a photo of the model number of the refrigerator and send it to him. Also seemed to know what the problem was and gave me a time he would show up to diagnose it. Right on time, Ananda went to work on it right away in a professional manner describing to me what he found wrong and in great detail also describing how the compressor works. I was impressed! Final determination was my refrigerator was not worth fixing, I agreed and he apologized. I asked him what brand of new refrigerator he would recommend and he stated none of them, they are all sh**! That was the most honest answer I ever received from an appliance repair man! I like this guy and asked for his business card! He did offer tips on what to look for on the new refrigerators. I'm the sort of person who wants the professionals I hire to be total "geeks" in the areas they work in. My accountant has to be a math geek, plumber has to be a plumbing geek, etc. They've got to be full of knowledge and enthusiasm for what they do. Well, Ananda is most definitely an appliance geek. Twice, after I've moved into a new home, he has done a check-up and repair of all my appliances, finding stuff the inspector didn't catch, and sometimes showing that what the inspector found was exaggerated or simply not true. He's fixed dishwasher leaks, serviced and leveled my refrigerators, repaired a very squeaky dryer, serviced both conventional and microwave ovens...all with the greatest attention to detail and being 100% forthcoming with information about my appliances. Got back from a trip overseas to find our fridge and freezer weren't cooling. We had a problem with our gas oven. The stovetop was working but the oven and broiler were not working. Ananda answered our call right away (no voicemail!) and scheduled a visit five days out. Later that day, he texted that he had an opening come up the next day - the day before Thanksgiving. Of course, we took it. He said it was something that he had never seen before but was able to replace the gas regulator (the source of the problem) and an ignitor that was starting to fail. I've been meaning to write this for about 2 months! I booked these folks through Angie's and they were fantastic! Called me back within 5 minutes of submitting the service request. He was at my house the next day and did an excellent job putting my Frigidaire Affinity washing machine that I had taken apart to clear a clog. When I tried to put it back together, I could NOT get those damn hose clamps back on! The "wizard" (Ananda) arrived right on schedule to fix the water leak behind our refrigerator. When he realized that the valve had broken and needed to be replaced, he had the spare part in his truck. No waiting, no second visit. He noticed that the ice maker was also leaking, but suggested we wait on a repair, as repairing the leak in the back might solve the leaky ice maker. It did.
