Zero stars. I chose Wilson & Myers because they marketed themselves as an established, locally owned, family-operated business with experienced founders. When problems arose, manager Mark Afone told me the advertised founders, Rich Wilson and Leo Myers, weren't involved in the operation. Despite repeated requests, I never spoke with ownership. That experience did not match the personal accountability their marketing led me to expect. I hired them to fix a minor door-sealing issue on our Thermador built-in refrigerator. Their technician left us with damaged leveling mechanisms and an unsecured refrigerator in the middle of our kitchen that could tip forward when the door was opened. I was present and watched the technician damage the adjustment mechanisms with a power drill. He said he would get parts and return the following morning. He never returned. After repeated calls and failed callbacks, I hired another company to secure and reinstall the refrigerator. That emergency service cost over $1000+. The second provider corrected the original door issue with a minor adjustment at no additional charge. Wilson & Myers sent another technician to inspect. Their manager subsequently confirmed the damaged leveling rod couplings in writing and offered to replace them. I accepted. They scheduled a corrective visit --another no-show. When I requested reimbursement and parts so another provider could finish the work, they directed me to their insurance carrier. After the carrier denied coverage, Wilson & Myers told me there were "no additional steps" they could take and considered the matter closed. The damaged couplings remain unrepaired. A minor service call became an unsafe situation, a $1000 emergency expense, and a month of chasing a company that ultimately walked away from resolving the damage. I would not recommend Wilson and Myers based on my experience. My ice machine was still making ice, just not keeping up during extremely hot conditions while our kitchen HVAC system was down. Wilson and Myers diagnosed a faulty sensor and charged approximately $2,000 for the repair, which required multiple return visits. To make matters more confusing, I requested a quote but was sent what appeared to be an invoice, which was accidentally paid before the work was completed. After several visits, they declared the repair complete, but the machine immediately developed a new problem it never had before: instead of producing normal ice cubes, it started dropping large blocks of ice. The technician also damaged the plastic side grate on the machine. When I raised concerns, Wilson and Myers proposed another $2,000 repair to fix the new issue and denied responsibility, claiming the problems were pre-existing. Their response was essentially that I didn't know the condition of my own machine before they worked on it. I've used this ice machine for years and know exactly how it performed before their repair. It never produced giant blocks of ice, and the side grate was not damaged before their technician serviced it. To make matters worse, I repeatedly received calls and texts late at night, sometimes as late as 10 PM to midnight, including weekends, even after asking them to stop. I had a very frustrating experience with Wilson & Myers, mostly because of poor communication, lack of transparency, and concerns about the technician's familiarity with my dryer. From the beginning, communication was difficult. I had trouble understanding the person I initially spoke with, and we went back and forth trying to understand each other. She told me she would call me back, but she never did. When a technician was finally sent out, he openly told me that he had never serviced my type of ASKO dryer before. He then spent about an hour and a half dismantling the machine, removing all four sides. Afterward, I found a straightforward video showing that this particular dryer could be accessed by removing only two sides, rather than taking apart nearly the entire machine. My biggest concern, however, was the lack of transparency around pricing. Their website states that there is an $89 diagnostic/service fee that will be deducted from the total repair cost. I was then sent an estimate with only a total amount and no itemization whatsoever. There was no breakdown of the part cost, labor rate, labor hours, or how the $89 fee had supposedly been deducted. When I called and asked for an itemized estimate, I was told that this is simply how they provide their pricing. The quoted repair was over $360 even after, according to them, the $89 fee had already been deducted. I understand that a stackable dryer in tight quarters may require additional labor, and I have no problem paying fairly for skilled work. What I do have a problem with is not being able to see what I am actually being charged for. I called again to discuss my concerns and even provided the video showing the proper way to access this specific ASKO dryer. I was told that the information would be shared with the technician or someone with more experience with this model and that I would receive a call back. Once again, no one called me. In the end, I paid the $89 service fee and am now looking for another repair company. I would strongly recommend that Wilson & Myers provide customers with itemized estimates showing parts, labor, and service fees, and that technicians be matched with appliances they have experience servicing. The entire experience left me feeling frustrated and without confidence in either the repair estimate or the process. read more

This was a fix I had done previously on my refrigerator for about $45 by myself. The job they did for this insane fee was performed because the technician couldn't speak English so he could not explain to me what the problem was, so I went with them on a bit of faith that it was an issue I could not handle. After the job and all this crazy thievery, was when I realized it was something I could have done on my own for HUNDREDS of less dollars. GE Gas Stove Top Repair - one of the igniters wasn't working. The first tech believed he'd diagnosed the problem. He ordered the part then came back to do the repair. Unfortunately, there was more to it. A master tech then came out and got to the root cause. Again, a part was ordered. The master tech came back and completed the repair. I used them since they were a "recommended" appliance repair company through Thumbtack which I had never used before. Our dishwasher had stopped working. The repairment took two hours to "diagnose" a problem that, turned out, it didn't actually have. When finally done, I asked him to be sure and run it through a cycle so we know the water is pushing through. He said he already did that and that it was working well. So, we loaded it up with all the dirty dishes, hit start, and NOTHING. He had wasted our time and money. I called the main office and the boss asked if he could send the same repairmen out again which I refused. So I asked for a refund and he agreed. I told him that instead of a refund on a check he hadn't yet received , that I would cancel the check from my end. He agreed and I figured we were good at that point. Months later I received a letter from his attorney to pay or go to collections. I sent a formal letter explaining what happened and haven't heard back. I sent a note of dissatisfaction to Thumbtack and they never responded. read more

I got reply even after 9pm! so I knew they were special. The service was just as good. Technician Serge came earlier than scheduled (he texted first). He was friendly and carefully solved my refrigerator stuck problem without hurrying. Their pricing is reasonable. We had a Samsung dryer from 2016 that started to make a terrible noise when spinning the drum, so we used Yelp to find a repair shop, we texted in the morning Wilson & Myers and they replied in less than 20 minutes. They offered a few appointment slots including for the same day, so we took the one available for the same day. They came in time and they fixed the dryer very fast, and they were very affordable as well: $49 for the service call, where compare to Samsung which was $125 only for the service call. Firstly, they reminded me of their 100 day warranty for any service they perform, they then sent out their refrigerator specialist to assess the complaint. He explained what the issue was and made an attempt to correct the problem free of charge. His fix helped but he had advised it may not be permanent. It was better but not right so I asked for a new filter housing and requested the same technician to install it. He arrived at the time we agreed and within about 20 minutes, he was done. It's been a week and not a drop of water from the new housing. I happily update from a 1 star to a 5 star for willingness to accept responsibility and gain customer satisfaction. read more

The next day the tech arrived, took the back off my washer, took pictures with his cell phone, told me "it needed a ball bearing and then everything would work fine," and left. He was in my apartment no more than 20 minutes. He did absolutely nothing to complete the repair. I called W-M and was transferred to Alex. Alex said he "would look at the pictures" and try and decide if W-M could do the repair for the amount quoted in my written estimate. Seriously? Alex at Wilson & Myers responded within a few minutes. I was able to have him come out within an hour on a Saturday! He quickly diagnosed the issue. He came back on Monday as the part needed to be ordered, and fixed it in about 20 minutes. That's about as fast as I've ever gotten something done in my adult life. Pricing was also very reasonable, in my opinion. Also comes with a 1 year warranty in case anything goes wrong. So I will definitely use these guys again.
