The tech (Jonny P) was very friendly, very professional, and provided exceptional service. He pointed out what was going to be repaired, and what the results were afterward. The price for the repair was extremely reasonable, as well. There was no trying to upsell me anything at all. He was also very thorough and made a recommendation for a plumber to come out to fix the corroded pipe behind my washing machine. He didn't have to do that. He could have done what was specific to his work and nothing else. Scheduling was also a breeze. I was kept up-to-date at all times on the progress of the tech. When I originally called, the person on the phone was extremely polite and professional and worked hard to accommodate my schedule. I am beyond pleased with this company and will be happy to recommend them to anyone who asks.

I got a fridge - after the last one didn't work. What I noticed was a consistent cooling issue. The…read morefront of the fridge would read over 40° (even all night). The fridge was set to a cool 33°, yet I'd have 40°+ variations in multiple places. I checked using an infrared thermometer, a meat probe, and a manual one. Eric the tech came from the install place, said it was "probably" working and left. When it still wasn't consistently cold, warranty kicked in and Best Service was sent out. This was probably the worst service experience ever. The guy ran a five-minute diagnostic and blamed everything on "two" items near the back vent. Let's be real - the egg carton covered maybe 1 blade of 1 of 3 vents. The stemless wine glass (my temp probe) was curved and together they blocked maybe 5-7% of total vent volume. The guy wouldn't confirm temperature fluctuations (no thermometer?) and refused to use my infrared one ("surface temp variation"). He rejected ANY alternative checks or diagnosis. His "blocked vents" finding was ridiculous. Does KitchenAid expect nothing near vents? Does anyone actually not use their top shelf? When I asked how to verify it's working or check the fan or coils, Eric's curt reply: "I work for the manufacturer. This is the process: I run diagnostic, I see this. I'll tell the manufacturer and relay any instructions." That was a lie - he just blamed vents and never followed up. Eric wasn't a technician. My 15-year-old could run his "diagnosis" and check a paper that says "blame anything near vents." He showed no knowledge of how fridges work or how to properly verify issues. He couldn't explain why minimal blockage would cause such inconsistent readings (or tools so I can do readings that are accurate). When I asked what thermometers I should use, he wouldn't tell me. I got gaslit by a process. Later, an appliance manager said he's only seen vent blockage matter when something blocks 90% of airflow, not my tiny 5-7%. When Eric refused any further checks, I said "We are DONE here" and walked away. He complained to the store that I "all but threw him out" - the camera in my living room can prove otherwise. I've never had a service person so focused on protecting the manufacturer while ignoring reality and gaslighting the customer. If I was measuring wrong, he could have shown me how to do it properly instead of dismissing what I was seeing. The issues continue. I got two new digital thermometers, but still can't put milk in the fridge without an ice pad under it.

Our 12-year-old Subzero refrigerator has been an absolute workhorse, functioning flawlessly for…read moreover a decade. It's only flaw? A noticeably loose handle that was starting to make opening the fridge feel like a risky game of tug-of-war. Acting on a solid tip, we reached out to American Appliance, and they dispatched an absolute superstar of a technician named Andrew. Andrew didn't just tighten the handle and run. He went above and beyond, performing some seriously overdue maintenance that our trusty fridge desperately needed. But the absolute best part of the visit was his patience. He actually took the time to teach me how to perform some of these minor repairs and maintenance tasks myself. A repairman who teaches you how not to need him as often? That is practically a unicorn in the home service industry. The final bill came out to nearly $200, and honestly, it was worth every single penny. Between the fixed handle, the much-needed tune-up, and the impromptu appliance maintenance masterclass, we got an incredible value. Kudos to Andrew and to American Appliance. Consider me thoroughly impressed!

Frustrating beyond belief. I called Universal Repair because they had very good feedback ratings. Lo and behold, the positive feedback was just what I experienced. I was given a next day appointment by Valerie, with a two hour window. Dmytro showed up right on time! He didn't mess about. He went straight to work diagnosing my problem. Then he did his magic and suddenly my refrigerator was working like new. Dmytro showed me the condenser and it was disgustingly dirty. He cleaned that up to like new. Not only did Dmytro repair my water problem,he left my refrigerator in better shape than it had been in years. Dmytro gave me a price which sounded justified. And accepted my check in payment. I absolutely have to say, Thank You Dmytro!!! And thank you Universal Repair! If and when I have more appliance problems I will definitely call Universal Repair! Honesty and Integrity!

I was totally fine with that, I didn't mind waiting or supporting a small business. After I waited for a week I was following up every day just to get an idea of when JR would actually be able to come out, he scheduled and then canceled last minute and then nothing. It's been over two weeks now- it takes 30 seconds to respond to a text at the least let alone schedule an appointment you can keep, no excuse. I've disputed with BBB and asked for my money back. I was sitting in the same room so there was no excuse for doing this. The "labor" he performed was documented as "adding extra barrier to splash guard". First time running the machine again, the error is back, nothing was repaired and yet I was charged for this "solution".
