Last year and the year before I called Becker Appliance in Englewood for a repair job on the washing machine I bought from them over a decade ago. The woman who answered couldn't understand the English language well and kept asking questions for 5 minutes. Then she decided to transfer me to the in home repair guys where I left a message and I never received a call back. Two months later I tried again with the same result so I called back and explained to the same person. She told me to leave another message and that if I didn't get a call back by Friday to let her know. I didn't and called to let her know. She said, "Someone will call you back within the next hour", and no call. My wife and I have had tough luck with our appliances, mostly KitchenAid or Maytag, after moving into our current home. Nothing lasts but five years, just time enough for you to be off all normal factory warranties. We've had good luck with Samsung products, TV's and such, and our son recommended looking for a Samsung refrigerator when our five year old Living Good (LG) went out, due to a failed compressor. (The back-up company, affiliated with Sears, was terrible to deal with, would not quote prices, and wanted free access to our bank-accounts before sending someone out to look at repairs. And Sears alone holds the only factory parts of the nature needed. Apparently, LG took it upon themselves, from what mechanics have told me, to make their own compressors, and did a poor job of it.) Our sons and his family of four have had excellent luck with their own Samsung. By chance, we happened on an advertised Samsung, good-sized and with ice-maker and French doors (freezer below), at Becker Appliance, on the South side of Denver. The machine was used and over ten years old, but had been completely rehabbed. We live to the North so the trek was long, but the people working there seemed straightforward, affable, and knowledgeable. They say that they have a re-conditioning/repair staff of men who have been there for years, and that they go over every aspect of the machine carefully, keeping a watch on performance for many months--was it not a year or two? We paid just under a thousand dollars for this older machine, not wanting to go $3,000-5,000 for a new one again, and so far, about four months in, the machine is performing better than our new LG ever did. Cooler temperatures and no spitting of ice on the floor or freeze-ups, for example. The guarantee is for only six months, I believe. but we're very pleased so far. It is so nice to deal with a neighborhood store rather than with a big box store. And there isn't any pushing to having you get long-term, expensive warranties. Delivery and pick-up of the old unit were smooth and quite modest in charges. The only reason I can't give five stars is that we're not very far into the "program" and I can't brag about "how long it worked great." Like Frank Sinatra, though, "We've got High Hopes." read more

Becker's and landlord are such horrible people who only care about money. No kind of customer service skills. Mold and bug legs in fridge. 4.5 hours to clean. I also had to put new filter in myself since they said before delivery that there was a new me they put in. Lol not true. Whole fridge inside and out smelt like it was in some kind of animal shelter. Unless you have an unlimited amount of cash, do not use Becker Appliance for your appliance needs. I am on broken refrigerator NUMBER 3 from them. My most recent replacement is a discontinued refrigerator that surprise, surprise, does not work either. I am out $1,000 of hard earned money and Michelle, the not so helpful manager likes to make you think she's doing you a favor by selling you junk. I am suing them and letting everyone I can know that you're better off losing your money in Vegas than giving it to people who just sell junk with a bow on it. read more

As a small business owner I know how important reviews are, so I write this with complete honesty in hopes that I might be able to help another business owner or homeowner to not make the same mistake I did. Last spring I purchased a washer and dryer from Becker appliance. They informed me that they do not provide warranties on Salon washers and dryers which seemed weird to me and should have been our first red flag. We were given a 30 day grace period and in that time our dryer started to make some crazy noises off and on. So we called and talked to Michelle who sent someone who basically just put a band-aid on a much bigger problem. Of course after our 30 day grace period ended our dryer went out. We argued the point that there is absolutely no way a dryer, at a salon or not, should break after 30 days, refurbished or otherwise. Turned out the motherboard had gone bad and they ended up giving us a "new"dryer... A few months go by and that dryer stops working. We had an error sign that would flash and sometimes if we turned it off and back on it would work for a short while longer. We argued again with them and they eventually decided that it was unfixable and give us another "new" dryer. We are now on our third dryer with them about 3 months in and when we turn it on, it squeals at an obnoxious volume in full hearing for our clientele for about 10 minutes. We are a salon and spa and our clients are trying to relax. It's embarrassing. We called for help to see if we could get someone out to service our dryer and the lady on the phone was not only incredibly rude and but also said "we no longer do business with you" as if all of this is our fault!!! I'm so disappointed with this company and the service, or lack there of, they have provided. I truly feel like they are scamming people as our previous machine worked for years with continued use. There is absolutely no reason that a dryer should break every 2-3 months salon or not! There are plenty of businesses that use laundry equipment regularly many of which are larger than us. Never Again! I bought a fridge, washer and dryer from Becker when I remodeled my house. The fridge stopped working almost immediately and it took forever for them to get the repair guy out and then when that didn't work they refused to let me return it. When the dryer stopped working I hired a repair service to check it out and they found that the heating element and duct assembly were from a different sized dryer. This caused the heating element to become dislodged from the vent. When the heat had no where to go it tripped the thermal fuse and shut down. Becker had attached the wrong housing by tapping a screw into the wrong place. Not only did they sell me faulty appliances, they sold me a fire hazard. Hundreds of dollars later everything works but I could have just bought new appliances for the money it cost to fix their lazy mistakes. read more

Pretty good selection. Not crazy about their restocking fee policy. I was initially charged $100 for "restocking" fee when I canceled my order even though my fridge never left the warehouse. Nothing was restocked. I was not happy about that but they did end up giving me a refund after I complained enough. Large selection and 6 month warranty. Washer broke 7 months after purchase, due to motor issue. We really liked their service up until now so we repurchased a LG front loading washer. Delivery and sales team argue with me after they missed their deliver window ; said"you couldn't wait five more minutes." I called a half an hour before the window closed but no answer. I had to leave to go to work; after the delivery window ended. To schedule another delivery was very difficult. They had a very rigid delivery schedule and would not refund delivery fee of $60. i asked to return the washer and all of a sudden a delivery window opened up two days later. Now the delivery team won't stack the washer as there was nothing In the notes about that. There are two men and a stacking kit; not sure why they would just do that? read more

Don't use this company, made an appointment and had to cancel, canceled two days prior to the appointment scheduled time due to an emergency and was told they would charge me anyway for the service call even though I canceled two days prior to the appointment time, there was never any mention of mandatory payment for a appointment at the time it was made, bad business !!! UPDATE: Company has decided to issue a refund of $65 because I wasn't notified of the mandatory payment for a service call appointment, they will keep the same policy but they will notify customers from now on of the mandatory charge for an appointment. 3 stars for doing the appropriate refund but I still don't believe in paying for a service until the work has been completed. read more

We purchased a used LG washer and dryer set from Becker, paid a fair price about half what you'd pay new. The delivery guys were friendly and careful getting the old set out of our basement, installing the new set and testing to make sure everything worked. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable used appliance! Our washer/dryer combo broke and after a few nights of trying to repair it on our own, we needed a new one. We searched around all Denver at the name brand stores, the kind you always hear about on the radio. Every place we went to, we left disappointed in the selection of stackable W/D units and absolutely disgusted at the prices they were trying to sell them at. Not to mention that the w/d were disgusting and ill-kept. Found this place on yelp and we were surprised at the great selection they had! They told us everything was refurbished so it had all new appliances inside of the w/d. They had the cheapest delivery and set up fees. All of the items in their show room looked well kept and practically new. Best prices around too! They gave great recommendations on brands and gave us space as we took our time to choose. Only gripe is that they would only deliver to us on Saturdays at a certain time. They called the morning of and changed the delivery time on us and ended up delivering it way past the 'new window' they gave us. Took up our whole Saturday waiting for them. I purchased a w & d set for a rental condo last July. The delivery date and time were not as promised and was a major hassle. The dryer has never worked properly because it is too large for the space and cannot be vented due to the size of the utility room and location of the vent. Therefore the dust from the dryer blows directly into the room. This is something that I assumed would have been noticed when it was delivered. The salesperson would not allow me to speak with the owner and said he was out of the country and said I should have been aware of the problem and called sooner. We have bought numerous appliances from Becker over the years with great success. It started with a clothes dryer going kaput right after the birth of our newborn son. My mom couldn't stand the thought of our cloth diapers being hung out to dry, so she bought us a used dryer from Becker. They came, hauled the old one out and installed the new one. It never stopped working. More recently, we bought a new house that didn't come with a refrigerator or washer & dryer. Becker is right down the street, so we went in there. We bought a gently used, french door counter-depth refrigerator, and a matching washer/dryer pair. Both have been going strong with no issues. If we bought these appliances brand new, we would have paid over twice what Becker charged. Becker Appliance sold us a washer that does not spin the water out of the load. The clothes are literally DRIPPING WET! They have sent out service 3 times and they have not fixed the problem. I was in the market for a used washer and dryer set and didn't want to go to Sears or Restore. I looked up use appliances and found Becker's. I am so HAPPY I did. From first walking in the lady working there is awesome. Was not pressure and prized herself and the company on still being locally owned and putting the customer first. The thing that sold me is if I was to buy a set from them for the 1st year I could call them with any problems and they would come out and fix it at no charge. I was SOLD. I bought a washer/ dryer set and took it home. A month later I thought it was broken (but it turned out to be a fuse problem not the washers problem). I called them and they sent out someone right away. The guy showed me my fuse box and didn't laugh too much. The level of customer service here was outstanding. Becker's sales folks were easy to work with over the phone to set up a purchase and delivery for a reconditioned w/d set and a stove for a rental property I own that's about 40 minutes from my house. Called on a Thursday and delivery was on Friday afternoon in the 1-4p window, arranged directly with the tenant. Love solving a problem with one phone call! However, the driver showed up after 5p and was obviously in such a hurry that he didn't test the appliances. Problems were a very low priority as they took 2-3 days to get someone out there to see what the issue was. Turns out that the install tripped a breaker (as can often happen with 220 lines) so the units had power but not enough to produce heat. Dryer also had a rattte due to it not being "broken in". They suggested I call an electrician and that if I wanted to swap the dryer there would be a 15% restocking fee. Michelle (sales mgr) was on vaca during this debacle and got it straightened pretty quickly when she returned. May just need to empower some other folks to do the same. Ultimately they sent someone to test the appliances on site and swapped the dryer for one that was already appropriately broken in, without a restocking fee or any add'l cost to me but my tenant was without functioning appliances for several days. So: Sales good. Service can be iffy. read more

I've used Becker Appliance store in the past and have always received good customer service and quality appliances. This time I bought an electric range. They have a wide selection of modern and clean appliances and they have a nice warranty. You do not pay extra for the warranty like some of the others and their deliver fee is lower than some of the others as well. Beware of Becker appliance very disappointed I have purchased products from Becker's off and on 30 years was always great product and great customer service I recently purchased a Refrigerator and a dishwasher from Michelle the office Mgr I asked if still one year warranty was told yes only to find out 7 months to the day of purchase (not delivery) that it's a six month warranty When did Becker's product become so shady they cannot stand behind it and when office manager said she would try to help I'm told from their service people shanty's that they would waive $30 diagnostic fee but 35 trip fee and parts are expensive but they refurbish parts. for a 1000 more dollars I could have bought new with a 4 year warranty and not been apart of Becker's scam why would I think to pay more money on product you cannot stand behind at least appliance factory would have. I purchased a washer and dryer from Becker appliances. I am new to the area, and this is the first washer and dryer that I have ever purchased or installed. I am a vulnerable consumer like many others, and I do not know the right questions to ask or what all goes into installing a washer and dryer. For this reason, I paid to have Becker Appliances deliver and install my new washer and dryer ($706). Because I mistakenly trusted the professionals, a family run business. Upon purchasing the washer and dryer, no questions were asked about the specifics of my house/basement. All they wanted was to make sure a purchase was made. Whenever a delivery man came to install the washer and dryer, he quickly realized that it was not going to work out in my basement. I reiterated to the delivery man that I was sorry, but the woman who I purchased the product from did not ask any questions about the delivery. Whenever I called to receive a refund on the product, the Becker employee indicated that it is on the part of the consumer to provide information about where the product would be installed, and that consumers usually have their measurements in hand at the store. This therefore begs the question, whenever an inexperienced and unversed family tries to purchase a washer and dryer, shouldn't the business ask the proper questions about delivery? If it is standard to be provided with the information from the consumer, Becker is then relying on the consumer to provide details. Relying on the consumer to make a mistake or forget a detail. Whenever those details are not provided, Why weren't those details asked by the business? Why wouldn't any questions be asked about the delivery? Especially whenever the consumer didn't know to provide any. Why wasn't due diligence done on the part of the business? To me it appears the questions were not asked because as long as a delivery request is put in, Becker's knows they will charge a 15% fee if the product cannot be installed. They want unsuspecting homeowners and renters to not know the right questions to ask, so that they can receive more money. I came in on a Sunday morning hoping to find a lightly used top loader washer and and an electric dryer. The prices were fair and the service was excellent (John). I had all my questions answered by John and felt good about having options if something were to go wrong with my purchase. The process was very simple for me because I did not want any delivery options. They did however offer me all hook up and vent hose(s) to go with the set. I have been a long time customer of Beckers for many years and referred many people to your place of business. I purchase a gas stove from them this last spring that had several issues. Service technicians were out here several times and couldn't resolve the issue, couldn't get the parts etc. We then agreed to swap out the stoves which landed us a LG Gas stove. Which also had some issues. Their technicians been out here to try to fix this current LG stove and were never able to resolve the issue. This issue still not resolved and we were only able to use half the stove, I called a recommended LG service center business today they informed me after an $85.00 trip charge that the base of the burner and the top of the burner is not the correct part for this LG stove. Since it is not the correct part, it can not regulate the gas flow properly and comes out intermittently and at times the gas goes out and other times the flame is like a blow torch. Buying a used appliance It should come with the proper parts so it can work properly. This issue not nothing that was caused by me or by use (even though we didn't use that burner). This was not properly assembled and sold by Becker's. I have emailed Becker's 3 times and have not gotten a response. This is something that they should of taken care of, the stove should have been sold with the proper working parts. Buyers beware of what appliances you are buying~most likely will be pieced together with random parts. And you will get no help or response once you purchase it! read more

In summary: Pretty disappointed in my experience here. Buying was painless. But heaven forbid you need to use their service department to fix something because that part of the experience was deplorable. The long story: I bought front loading washer and dryer from here. My washer was a little vibratory upon first use, but thought, "Eh, I can deal." It got worse. My washer could be running upstairs, and I could feel the vibration on my couch downstairs. I called the store 3 times to get a service tech to come out. Two techs came out two different days to try to fix my machine (each with a 4 hr window, so I've already wasted 8 hrs being stuck in my house for these people). The icing on the cake was when the second one sat Indian-style in front of my washer, butt crack gleaming, and placed a bottle of water in front of my washer and said, "See how it's shaking the water? You have weak floors. I'll recommend we try a top loader instead.'' Okay, so maybe my house which was newly constructed 3 months ago isn't perfect, but this washer starts in one corner of my closet and ends nearly sideways in the other corner. Obviously... a house flaw. I told them I wanted the machines refunded and gone, and I didn't desire to have any more time wasted on this mess. They came and got them 4 days ago. I still haven't seen my money refunded, and when I call the store, I get the run-around. Just great. My recommendation: Don't waste YOUR time. Ok, right off the bat you know I am more than a little frugal when I am writing a review for used appliances. but if the need ever comes that your dryer coughs its last or your stove decides to turn into a flamethrower, call these guys. I got a dryer from craigslist for free that lasted for a couple years and that was great luck, but when it died there weren't any available and I had extra cash. So one of my clients suggested Beckers. I didn't look in the phone book, I just went to the location they knew about, turns out there might be another one right here in Aurora. Any way, they found us one that was better than what I had and about 15 years newer. clothes dried in a snap. Even moved things around so I could get delivery that afternoon and waived the delivery fee. I'm happy, but I don't review them cuz come on it is a dryer and who really cares. Then the stove died. It had been a month, but back to Beckers for a nice glass top electric stove. delivery came just when they said and boom cookie time. All was well for about 45 days and then there was a weird beeping coming from the oven and a error code. And of course I am cooking a turkey. Call them up and brace myself for the warranty hassle. In theory I have a free years guarantee on parts and service. and I paid cash so they have no credit card to bill. They said some one would call me later, we have all heard that, but about 15 minutes later someone that knew about stoves called!! Walked me through a couple things, and I couldn't duplicate the problem, but the turkey was getting done. so the guy says, if it ever happens again here is his cell number and just call. that to me was a WOW, the repair guys never want you to know who they are let alone give you a way to find them. time passed Day before Christmas it goes off again. I call they set something up and I have to leave, leave the 20 year old home to watch for them. they get the address wrong and by the time I call everyone is gone. After all it is Christmas eve. No big, I am not using the oven for a couple days and think I'll call Friday. They call first and set another time and verify the address. show up, find the loose wire and bang, fixed. So one of the things I learned from being cheap is that used comes with no service and I am on my own. Well Beckers is changing that opinion, first class apologized for a mistake anyone could make, and made it right. Better yet no one had to hunt them down and when they came they didn't have to run around and ask anyone else off site for what to do. And I never even saw the dispatch form, let alone a bill. Bought a nice Samsung washer/dryer set from them. The dryer had issues one month after we bought it. They sent somebody out to fix it and a week later had the exact same issue. They sent somebody again out to fix it and had same issue after another week. They offered to send somebody out again and fix it. I said no, we need another dryer. The lady on the phone we have been speaking with was rude every time we spoke with her. She said they would bring a similar dryer out in the morning on Saturday. Nobody showed up and we called and they said there was no delivery scheduled. To their credit, they did get somebody out that evening. The dryer was a different color and it was a much older model. This place has it together. My washing machine died on me, full of dirty water. My landlord directed me to them as he has worked with them before. I called them and the woman on the phone was really friendly, gave me the costs of different washers and I settled on a $299 used washer. They had it delivered within 2 days (only because they don't deliver on Sundays and the Saturday slot didn't work for me, otherwise I would have had it next day) and gave me a big 2-5pm gap that they might show up during. If you're anything like me you hate being trapped at home for long periods of time. Luckily they showed up just after two (so timely!) and had the old washer out and the new washer in within 10 minutes! It was so fast and easy and the delivery men were very friendly. Not to mention for $299 I got a pretty good looking washer. Definitely would use this place again in the future. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews before we used this company, i knew they have been around for many years thinking they had a good reputation, i found out NO! We purchased a $400.00 refurbished KitchenAid diswasher, we only had it for 1 1/2 weeks and it broke! After the guy said it worked great. Called Becker they said oh call the warranty dept , they never call you back you need to repeatedly call and call and then they are completely dismissive no understanding, or customer service they just want you off the phone. Finally came out a week later they changed parts still did not work, really?? No replacement dishwasher in case it didnt work as they should do and have. They don't care, i called oh we will let you know when we can come back out need to get the part, after she told me they have every part at their shop! The guy called her when he was here she could have looked it up right then and there and saw if they had it to let me know right then and there, and when they could come out. She never said as a good customer service person should say " I will call you tomorrow to let you know when we can come out so sorry," we will get it taken car of for you right away. She too was curt and dismissive , really I'm the customer and have waited and waited for you to come now you don't know again when you can come back.? she wont call i will have to call again repeatedly again! The lady at Becker said i should be glad i had a warranty, and sighed on the phone couldn't wait for me to get off the phone. This is probably one of the worst customer service companies i ever worked with, they don't care you spent $400.00 on their product, that breaks after 4 washes, the warranty dept is horrible, they don't care how long you wait and don't respond after you leave messages. Fair warning i would never recommend this company, and we work with many people and will spread the word guaranteed. We own a business also and never would we treat a customer in this way!
