The name of the cashier who was rude.

Cashier Charletta P called us impatient when we simply pointed out that the price of an item was not what it was advertised for. We did not raise our voice or get upset when asking, we just brought it to her attention. That pissed me off so much that I didn't realize there was another item that was incorrectly marked on the receipt, that I just got charged seven dollars extra for. It's not the first time we've seen bad behavior there. The previous time we were there, we watched and another cashier treat a woman differently for what seemed to be just her ethnicity. I'll probably avoid shopping here from now on since their cashiers have an attitude problem, and apparently asking a polite question is considered to be rude.

9 o'clock nobody to help with a big cart
    Vahig M.

Completely surprised usually love this place today came everything was understocked which I'm not upset about that's fine it happens but the fact that I have a giant cart plus another cart with me and my grandmother was the cherry on top. Nobody to help us.. cashier closed the second my grandma walked up :/ They should have at least one person helping bag self check out has their own situation to handle they should not be bagging people stuff! I don't know who to blame, but I am fuming ! I was waiting for my grandma to walk up to me. She walked up to me and the second we were going to walk up to the person she said oh sorry I'm taking a break with the light off... I don't blame her. I don't blame any of the employees I blame whoever's in charge of deciding only one person handling registers at 9 AM! Brenda had to deal with my Karen attitude! Because I'm stressed out poor lady had to deal with it. It's not her job to bag! It's not self check outs responsibility to take all the heat! It's not cool! Old ladies and grandpa's shop around this time (9:00am) nobody wants to be dealing with punching in the groceries or bakery items! especially when they have a cart full of stuff It's not our job! We don't get paid to do that! Just like poor Brenda and co manager Martina (or something like that) don't get paid enough to deal with shit like this. I dont feel like it's ok it's not cool. Basically self checkout has to deal with 1.Dumb/clueless customers 2.Constant questions 3.Monitoring people making sure they're not stealing 4.Dealing with punching in specific items because the customer doesn't know how to handle that situation 5. Handing out bags. 6. And apparently they are baggers now! 7.Not to mention, they have to deal with customers like me who are frustrated at the situation! Or just jerks this is a grocery store. We want people to help us bag especially after a long day of work! I don't have the luxury of choosing what time I can come to the grocery store! Late at night early in the morning! I don't care at least two people on the registers so when someone takes a break the other one can take over! Don't make your employees suffer trust me it's a stressful situation for everyone! Nobody wants to be a Karen and nobody wants to deal with Karen! I will update my review if things change. Usually this things don't affect me but goddamnit Its the principle at this point.

Made with quality flour and baked fresh hourly, they are usually served hot from the oven, and I can't resist eating 1/4 of it before I get home. The fresh cut flowers and plants welcome you into this Armenian market, with tall, vibrant roses unlike those found at most florists. Big Square also offers a solid selection of produce, meats, pastres, alcohol, and other goods. Specialty items like Armenian coffee, unique condiments, and hard to find deli products are always available. For meat products, they have frozen quail, which is usually difficult to find... however, I have never been a fan of their other meat items. The one time I purchased shank and liver, it wasn't as fresh and of quality I anticipated. Parking can at times be difficult and drivers are a bit aggressive. I suggest shopping here during slow hours vs. peak times.

They bring a vibrant mix of Armenian, Iranian, and Mediterranean flavors under one roof. Every time I visit, it feels like a little taste of home especially the candy section. It instantly reminds me of my grandma's treats, just nostalgic and delightful! Their meat section is also a standout; the mortadella cold cut and sausages are exceptional so professional and rich in flavor, it's a must-try. Beyond that, they have a wonderful array of Persian snacks, cookies, and a wide selection of fresh produce. I'm always so happy shopping here; it's clean, well-stocked, and the staff are super friendly. There are always plenty of employees, so it never feels chaotic. The only small downside is that some of the refrigerated foods are a little pricey, but considering the quality, it's a fair trade-off. Plus, you can order hot foods to go! they grill up delicious meats right on site. Parking is at the back, which is super convenient, even if the front lot is a bit tight. The level of care and customer service back then was completely different. Recently, I had a very disappointing experience with the current manager, Lilit. I returned chicken that was clearly uncooked--not for a refund, but simply to make them aware so it wouldn't happen again. Instead of handling it professionally, she became defensive, raised her voice, and insisted the chicken was cooked, essentially accusing me of lying. As a long-time loyal customer, that was very upsetting. I was respectful, but the way I was treated was rude and dismissive. This is not the kind of service Golden Market used to be known for. Because of this experience, I highly discourage anyone from going there. I will not be returning, and I will not recommend it to my family or friends. I truly hope management takes this seriously and brings back the level of respect and customer care that Soorik and Ofelia once provided. Btw I Think she needs to know that she is just a manager at local grocery store and she is super uneducated and low class.

The people here are super friendly and helpful. I ordered the real deal brisket pastrami sandwich. Such a delicious sandwich and the size is pretty large. The prices is here are pretty reasonable especially with lots of expensive sandwich shops out there these days.

I saw an Instagram post about a thick-cut wagyu pastrami hoagie. Well, the thick-cut pastrami isn't…read morea thing anymore. The pastrami is cut thin -- thin, but it's still good. What we ordered: 1) a create-your-own pastrami sandwich with mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese, 2) their new pastrami cheesesteak. 3) a banana pudding (which I haven't tried yet) The standard pastrami hoagie good, but those kinds of pastrami sandwiches are pretty ubiquitous in SoCal-- pastrami, thinly sliced; maybe there's pickles, maybe there's mustard, maybe there's jus for a dip (their's is dry), on a French roll. I can get that kind of pastrami sandwich closer to me. On the other hand, a pastrami cheesesteak is NOT something you'd see around these parts. According to the menu, their cheesesteak has their signature pastrami, Cooper sharp cheddar, and onions on a hoagie roll. We preferred the pastrami cheesesteak over the standard, simply because of the novelty but also for the taste. The cheddar gave the cheesesteak a richness that a regular pastrami sandwich wouldn't have. Also, the melted cheddar had a binding effect on the pastrami; the meat stayed in the sandwich. You didn't end up with a third to half the pastrami ending up escaping the confines of the roll halves. The pastrami cheesesteak also included a 2oz serving cup of chipotle aioli which we really didn't need. The flavor on its own was enough for us. If I had a minor gripe on this cheesesteak, maybe a hit of acid would've been nice, but cheesesteaks usually lean toward rich and gooey so this sandwich's flavors and textures are par for the course. About the place itself: 1) the sandwich shop is on the corner of a major intersection, Lexington and Pacific 2) other than a driveway with a single space, it is ALL street parking. 3) there is NO parking on Pacific 4) the only dine-in option is a small porch with a couple of tables 5) be stage are all canned or bottled; there is no fountain The sandwiches are made to order. My order was given a wait time of 15 minutes but I'm pretty sure it was faster than that. I don't think I would drive all the way from the Rosemead area, but it's clearly a local's favorite. If we were in the area, we'd totally order the pastrami cheesesteak again, maybe with pepperonis. Their pastrami is no Langer's, but it's definitely a cut (no pun intended) over the standard Jim's 1/4 Lb or Rick's type joints. You can taste the care in its preparation. Overall, a really good sandwich place.

I didn't notice that the date on the cut watermelon was expired. When I got to my hotel and wanted something sweet and cold, I opened the container and it was all smelly, not crisp, and watery.
