Your store only had 1 female cashier open. The store is kind of dark and I mentioned it to her. Anyway, I watched as custo.ers came up for final purchases. She smiled at everyone, gave kind and courteous service to each and every person. My mind said simply AMAZING... its 1 am and I have insomnia and am restless but I am very alert and saw her professionalism and unique talent, not to mention she is beautiful, and through her talent aline I could see into her heart. It was just last night so Id appreciate if you sought her out, sat her down and give recognition as talent like that can only be praised from a person such as myself. I usually drive around 2nd street when im awake and there is a curfew woth no grocery stores open that late. I simply turned left and went down Jamachs where I found friendly and professionally talented customer service at Ralph's. 5 stars and then some. I never buy reduced priced food before. So I picked up some lunch meat. I opened the package and my sense of smell and taste ain't that great. So my wife tried a little and it was spoiled. This place is just bad. Spoiled food, expired food, and food left out that needs to be in the fridge. Bought some roast beef from the deli and I ended up throwing up. Only reason I come here is because they are open late but I have to make sure I check the food to make sure it's not spoiled, it's not expired and is safe to eat. I have shopped at Ralphs in Rancho San Diego for at least 10 years or more. I've always liked the store even though it is supposed to be the most expensive grocery store in the region. Liked it until I became disabled. Their complimentary carts are terrible. Very noisy with a grinding noise you can hear all over the store, very slow, don't work well, stop and start arbitrarily, go off every time you stop for a product and you have to figure out how to start it again, three different kinds so you never know how to operate the one you get. Frequent failure to charge them up makes it even worse. You get into one and discover it isn't charged up even though it has a green ready to go sign. A disabled person doesn't want to draw attention to themselves and doesn't need to worry about it running out of charge when you have a cart full of groceries. Just awful. I have complained to "management" in the past and nothing has changed. So, for at least the third time I mentioned it to the "manager" who was checking me out at the register. Me: Are you a manager? This thing is awful. Jerry the manager: BS answer #1 "Yes, "That's what they send us." Me: Have you ever gotten on one of them and driven it around to see what its like for your customer? Jerry: BS Answer #2 "No" Me: Well you're a manager. Don't you have any influence? Jerry: BS Answer #3 "I'm not that high up." Me: Well, you're not ever going to be that high up with that attitude. Me: Do you check to see if they are charged up? Jerry: BS Answer #4 "Not really my problem." Went in to buy a special they had that didn't have a LIMIT Sign on the product! When I get to the check out the bagger told the clerk to tell me there is a limit I said I didn't see a limit sign next to the price. Store manager is the worst customer service manager I have ever encountered . This man completely screwed up on my transaction and when I went back inside to verify he dismissed me and tried to tell me my laundry soap and a cupcake pan was 100+ and when I wanted to verify my order he reside too help me . Made the other cashier help me and told me to get back in the line that was down the aisle . He refused to help the lady that was helping me out at this point . Mind you when he was helping me out the first time he smelled like straight SMOKE and was not welcoming at all . The customer service has just gotten horrible at this store. When I try to call the number on their website, I get, this wireless customer isn't available. This morning, I stopped with my cart, in the aisle for a few seconds to get an item from the shelf. The person pushing the broom apparently couldnt wait that long and asked me to move ( it was a wide broom so I had to push the cart forward). Its not like I was in the middle of the aisle looking at my phone forever, I just stopped to get something off a shelf. Miss Ralph's is my number one stop shop to get specials and deals on Friday and for the weekend. Customer service is great and helpful they lead you to where do you need to go for a product their store is very clean there's no dirt or trash on the floor there's always carts that are for the Crowell bathrooms are clean their products are stocked faced they always have product or never out They always have a good amount of check stands open we needed to relieve the congestion of long lines of people and I love that they have five self service counter so you can get in and out quick if you're in a rush to get somewhere. read more

My family has been shopping at Ralphs in RSD for 20 years. Today I went to buy just a few items around 3:30-4:00 pm. When I went to check out, I chose the line directly next to the self check out section. When I approached the line, there was another customer in front of us. The customer had quite a few items but it looked like she was almost finished. I waited in line for at least 10 minutes. The cashier and customer were having a personal conversation. It seemed like they knew each other. They were still talking for several minutes even after the customer had paid. I finally decided that I was going to gather my items and move to another register. As I was taking my items, the cashier made no eye contact or even acknowledged my presence. She was extremely RUDE! I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

This is my local Ralph's store. I come here often because they always have milk and orange juice at a good price. They always seems to be one variety or another on sale. I also visit their meat department when they have good prices advertised. I recently bought USDA Choice Top Sirloin here for $2.99 lbs. I bought a couple of large pieces and cut them into 8 oz steaks and sealed them up and froze them for later. Today I went in for milk and found they had my non-fat for $1.88 for a half gallon. As far as grocery stores go this one is top of the line. It was clean, employees were friendly, the shelves were full or merchandise, and it had good lighting, a huge selection of grocery items, grab and go food sections and several registers ready to check you out. The first thing that I want to address is that their broccoli salad is amazing! I frequently get a size small, which always varies in price. Sometimes I get it for 4 or 5 bucks, sometimes 6. Other than that though, I found the other deli selections to be pretty bland. I remember I tried the southwestern chicken wrap and it did not really taste like anything. That was pretty disappointing. It was also expensive for a small wrap. What this place seems to lack the most of is good customer service. Every single time I go, I wait to order my food for nearly 15-20 minutes. They have a little bell that you're supposed to ring when you need assistance, but it seems to never catch any of the employees' attention. Some of them come across as pretty rude as well. That being said, I will still come back... I just hope they consider improving their customer service pretty soon. read more

Not well stocked, and you can't find an employee if you set off a flare. They try to force everyone through the self-checkout, but either people are purchasing alcohol or are incompetent to use it. Came here after dinner to pick up some free items through my husband's application on his phone. We walk around and towards the front to the right of the store is fresh produce. So many groceries and food items were on sale. In the back near the restrooms, there was a clearance rack. Be careful because some of the food items are expired. This has happened to us before at another Ralph's location. They normally sell the breads two days before the expiration date so make sure you consume them before the date. I believe in this because food has a time limit of how long it should be out. It can make people sick. Anyway, the store was clean and organized. It was easy to navigate through the store. Plenty of parking in front of Ralph's. I still give this location four stars because it's a great place to get deals and it's clean. Lots of items were on sale which is a good sign. read more

I have never had such a bad experience at any Ralph's before. I really hate writing bad reviews, but when their customer service sucks and the staff is lost and unorganized... I need to voice and explain the situation. I had placed an online order yesterday for a large platter of Roasted Bone in Wings (Buffalo sauce on the side), for my sons pre-school open house the following day. Arrived at the Ralphs counter to pick up my order as previously arranged (3:30pm) and waited about 5 minutes before I was greeted and helped. I informed the staff at the counter about my pick up order, she stated she was finishing up my order she has just poured the sauce on the wings. I told her I had requested the sauce on the side, not on the top!! I told her that's fine, I will take the wings with the sauce, since I was in a hurry to get to my sons open house. Then the next 10mins her and her co-worker were trying to find the SKU for the wing party platter. They wanted to charge me $29.99 when my confirmation email had stated $24.99. I found out while wating, that they rarely have these types of orders and the person in the deli was new. The staff in deli really did not know what she was doing part of me was feeling sorry for her. Finally they found a SKU they can use to charge me, it stated $29.99. I was walked over to the register by the deli staff and one of the managers overheard me saying I'm only paying $24.99 not $29.99. Fine done deal $24.99 it is. I arrive at my sons school, and to my surprise the Roasted Bone In Wings were Breaded!!! Yeahhh I should of checked my order at the store, right??? But if you request Roasted that's what you expect??!! So not only did they poor the sauce over my wings, they gave me the wrong wings too. I've always loved Ralph's, but after this stunt....hmmmm. It's lent season and one of my favorite things to do is buy cod here and have Ralph's fry it for me. While I was waiting for my fish I went around the store to get some groceries and came across some really great deals by the clearance section! I got siggi's yogurt for just .25 cents! And no, it wasn't expired, the expiration date wasn't for another 2 weeks. They had great deals like this all throughout the store. All the employees are always very friendly here. read more

My reviews of this Ralph's have been fairly positive and I mostly prefer shopping here. Just want to suggest they really work on the deli customer service. It's impossible to get help. There's so many people working there and they usually seem idle too. When I asked if the very dry hard looking chicken was fresh he said he didn't know and the other person was too busy to ask. Really ? I finally just left after wasting a lot if time standing there. And can someone instruct baggers not to put heavy cans on top of eggs? I had to rebag my groceries in the car! I love this Ralphs. They have an awesome selection of produce, including some not so standard items. Others have stated that the meat department is very helpful; this is true. You never have to wait to see a butcher or someone else to assist you. There are 3 or 4 Albertsons, 2 Vons, and 2 other Ralphs that are closer to me than this one. I've been coming to this Ralph's for about 7 years. I used to be an Albertson's shopper (I still go there occasionally), but the parking and access is so much better here and I rarely run into traffic jams in their lot. But while I chose this place for convenience in terms of getting in and out of the lot in a hurry - during the past five years in particular, I've noticed a big change in the pricing of their products and the attitude of their staff. In short - Ralph's - which is part of the Kroger family of companies - after showing up in surveys as being among the most expensive grocery chains in California during the 80s and 90s - has - during the last three years in particular - has become ultra-competitive - especially its pricing. I've found things here that are sometimes 10 to 20 percent less expensive than competing chains. On top of this, the staff here at the Rancho San Diego store seems to have undergone an attitudinal shift toward its customers. They're super friendly, helpful and when they see a line starting to develop, they open a new checkout line in a hurry. Another thing, even if you use the self-checkout and if you forget an item or two like I have a few times, they'll chase it down the item for you so you won't lose your place in line. That NEVER happens at other places. There's just a sparkle with this chain now and they don't seem to be having the same staffing nor financial problems that the Super-Valu chain (Albertson's) has been having in the news lately. I really worry about the people over at Albertson's because I sometimes get the impression that they themselves know they're no longer at the top of the supermarket mountain and could be absorbed at any time. That's not good.. At any rate, back to this Ralph's - I love 'em. Now I never have to use the convenience of their lot as the big reason why I continue to visit them. Meat section is small, very limited selection, for a major market. Prices are very high even with card savings. I'll stick with the other ones who send out weekly flyers.
